I usually order the hot Tiramisu small sweetened to balance out the bold flavor. Be patient with your order there is a method to this style of drip coffee because the coffee is straight from flavor town! They have the standard pastries and staff recommended coffee flavors and pastries. There is a shared outdoor seating in the shade that has enough real estate for small and medium sized groups. Philz is great! We are huge fans and have gone to 4 to 5 of their different locations. The staff is always friendly and the service is fast and accurate. Not spectacular. For the price of a cup of coffee, this is what I expected. I came in to try it out. I bought a Churro drink for my wife and the oatmeal cookie coffee for myself. I asked if they could make it without sugar, and they said yes, which surprised me. However, I was extremely disappointed to find that it was just the other ingredients, minus any sweetener. It tasted like dry cinnamon and nutmeg were added. Was definitely not worth the $8 or what ever I paid for the drink, not to mention that it took 20+ minutes for two coffees, they ended up getting one of the drinks wrong and had to remake it and I had to listen to the manager or whatever chastise three employees for not putting the nutmeg in the right place. read more

My daughter asked me to try this coffee place after buying our donuts next door. This store is busy and yes, my first time although I have seen it everywhere. The welcoming voice of one of the baristas was a nice gesture for customers. My daughter is very picky and the lady made sure she will get the right amount of the ingredients to meet her choices. Asked for a refund, they took the croissants back, PUT THEM BACK TO BE SOLD, didn't offer to give me the coffee or anything. Cheap and nasty. I'm a huge Philz fan, but this was my first time visiting this particular location. Staff were very friendly, they took orders quickly & I didn't have to wait super long for my drink, even though there were a lot of people in front of me in line. I tried a new drink this time (the Tiramisu) which was pretty good, though I think I'll stick with my usual favorite (the Mint Mojito) in the future. This location doesn't have any tables or anywhere to sit inside, but there's a large outdoor patio where I was able to sit for a while and work on my laptop. read more

I came to this Philz location solely because my usual Philz (Del Amo) was out of Winter Bliss Cold Brew. This drink is SO good. I wish that they would keep it year round because it might be one of my favorite coffees I get anywhere!! Trust me, it's worth the wait here. Every cup is made to order, brewed with freshly ground coffee beans. Whenever we visit from Las Vegas, we always bring home bags of beans cause they're just that good. Their iced gingersnap and iced mint mojito are my usual go to's, less sweet but extra creamy! I fully expect a long wait at Philz--nobody comes here for a quick caffeine fix, and I'm totally fine with that. That's not the issue. The issue is that the outdoor patio area is downright disgusting. The cushioned seats are deeply stained, the tables are sticky, and during my visit, a family spread out a box of Randy's Donuts, leaving behind crumbs and spilled coffee all over the lounge area. In the two hours I sat there working on my MacBook, not a single employee came out to wipe down tables, sweep, or do any basic upkeep. By the end of my visit, gnats were swarming everywhere--so badly that I finally snapped, packed up, and walked out muttering, "F*ck this place," in total frustration. It's a real shame because I live within walking distance and actually want to like this location--but I can't deal with the filth or lack of attention to cleanliness. And for what it's worth, the whole Rosecrans Corridor scene sucks bad. It's overrun with 'taller-than-thou square-jawed, self-important business bros' in loud conversations about their salaries and startup deals. The whole area feels sterile and soulless--a corporate bubble with zero culture. Unless you fit neatly into that mold (which, thank God for society most of us do not!) don't bother wasting your time or energy here! read more

I want to be nice about this but it is what it is. I only go here because its closer to work and its walking distance. ANYTIME i order AHEAD of time, my order is NEVER ready on time. Ever. Not even once. If i order for pick up at 9:10, i wait an additional 20 mins. I totally understand how busy it gets. But theres a reason why ppl order on the app ahead of time. They do not have enough workers for the morning rush and its so annoying. I waste my time waiting when i place an order so I do not have to wait. The irony. Theres parking, another structure if the main parking lot is full. The coffee is whatever but it helps when u want some caffeine. Waiting for an order is annoying. I've tried some of their other drinks but I always go back to my favorite drink. This location has a parking lot right outside but the parking lot is shared among several businesses so it can be hard to find parking at times there is an attendant available to assist with keeping the traffic flowing. read more

I was a long-time Starbucks fan. On my first visit to this Philz I was introduced to my new favorite, Jacob's Wonderbar dark roast. I've had it hot and iced. Yum! They also have great pastries--especially the blueberry muffins. The staff are great, friendly people. Since the drinks and process are different from Starbucks, if you're new just ask the cashier for help. They are super helpful and will guide you to a great drink. read more

Very busy Philz location but I love coming here! I'd recommend ordering online for pick up, which will be the quickest option to avoid waiting during the morning rush. They have only benches inside for seating but plenty of outdoor area for you to sit, work, and chat. It can get very chilly in the seating area so I'd recommend bringing a jacket. There is a parking lot attached to the Philz. I always love grabbing a pastry from here along with my coffee or a breakfast burrito to go just because it's quick and tastes good. read more

I stopped at my bank in El Segundo and needed a pick me up so drove to the nearest Philz. Ordered online as I usually do. Inside is a bit lonely at this location and service is a bit slower I came and no one was working on any drinks and not as friendly as other Philz locations I have been to but coffee really hit the spot and was well prepared.
