03.14.2026 We were in town for a track meet and this cute little bakery was conveniently located across the street from the hotel we were staying at. My daughter had to be at her meet by 6:45, so I showed up at 6:15 to pick up some bagels for breakfast. No one was in there when I arrived but the employees seemed to be working on take out orders already. Their menu had the right amount of breakfast type of bagel sandwiches that I was looking for - a bagel with cream cheese, a bagel & egg only sandwich, and a bacon, egg, and cheese bagel. The bagel consistency was nice and chewy. The only qualm was with hubby's order. I asked for easy on the cream cheese and his bagel ended up with A LOT of it on his bagel so he had to scrape it off. Usually I'd eat the extra cream cheese but I had a bagel breakfast sandwich instead. *Note for next time: Get the bagel sliced and toasted with the cream cheese on the side I also picked up a loaf of their sourdough bread. Hubby is picky about sourdough but he really enjoyed the tang/flavor of their bread. It would definitely be somewhere to stop by when we're passing through or in the area again. read more

We are reviewing bagel shops around the South Bay and this has been one of our favorites. For me, I love a rye bagel and only had been able to find them at Goldsteins which sadly closed years ago. Pumpernickel is more widely available but not a good substitute. Bagels are chewy and very flavorful. We usually buy a half dozen with a cream cheese tub and toast them at home. What we don't eat that day go in the freezer. The staff does an adequate job taking orders but it always amuses me how 3 varieties of 6 bagels becomes a memory challenge that requires multiple times repeating the order. This has been true at every one of the half dozen bagel shops we have visited. There is plenty of parking behind the store and the seating inside is adequate as well. The electronic menu boards suffer from the same shortcoming that every establishment that uses them. You need to wait until the screen that you want to read pops up again. Would recommend for great bagels. At this point, haven't tried the sandwiches or anything else on the menu except for the rye bread loaf which didn't pack the same punch as the bagels. read more

MBB may be the only dedicated bagelry in Manhattan Beach as far as I can tell. It's a clean, contemporary restaurant with a wide selection of Jewish deli favorites. I enjoyed my classic bagel with cream cheese and lox. I also bought a couple tubs of spreads-delicious white fish and salmon spread. I even bought a container of chocolate chip cookies which were soft, chewy and delicious. Service was good, there's a nice amount of seating inside but I had takeout. There is a good sized shopping center parking lot as well. Highly recommended. read more

Manhattan Bread & Bagel in Manhattan Beach is a gem. We were on the road to head to the airport for an early flight so we stopped by right when they opened at 6 AM and was greeted with warm, friendly service, which was so refreshing that early in the morning. The staff was quick, efficient, and genuinely welcoming. Was in town and grabbed a quick bagel for breakfast, got the cheddar jalapeños bagel. As you can see from the picture, they dont even bake in the cheddar or jalapeños into the bagel, they put a slice of white cheese and some jalapeños pieces on top of the bagel. The cheese and jalapeños fell off right when I opened the aluminum foil. Has to to be the worst and laziest cheddar jalapeños ever made. It's funny because there website say these are only available Fri-Sun, they must have a specialists the is able to place a slice of cheese on a bagel only on the the weekends. Finally went to Manhattan B&B after hearing great things about it for years. I was thoroughly unimpressed. First of all, I ordered a bacon and egg bagel. There was such a tiny amount of bacon there wasn't even one full strip on my sandwich, literally could not taste the bacon at all it just tasted like egg. Secondly I asked for the bread to be scooped out and they did not scoop it literally at all. Third I ordered a cappuccino and the foam was super airy it was not creamy at all. My friend ordered a lox bagel and they put like 5 capers on it. She also ordered a black coffee and it was WATERY. Lastly, it was not air conditioned inside. My friend and I were sweating bullets and it wasn't any better outside because they don't have any kind of awnings or umbrellas. Overall 0/10 experience and I will not be back. Do better. read more

Came in to get some bagels with a friend. Inside is bright. Decent amount of seating. There's also a small patio area with a few tables in front. I got the herb and spice cream cheese on an onion bagel. It was really good. My friend got the lox bagel and it was tasty. Small parking lot in front. Service is kind of slow though and staff isn't all that friendly. We waited a while for our order then my friend went up to ask and they said they gave it to someone else. Didn't seem apologetic about it and seemed more annoyed to have to make it again. Overall good bagels but service is lacking. Probably better as a to-go option. read more

Poorly run business. They can't figure out how to set up and run a checkout line. Very cheap management. Iced coffees are in soda cups? Portions in salads are tiny. Quality changes every visit. My last sandwich was slop. The prices are exorbitant. Staff is...not great. The only reason this place is still in business is because there is no competition in the sandwich space in Manhattan beach. You're much better off going to a bland corporate chain like Noah's or Starbucks for a sandwich or bagel, which is a shame. read more

This place is awesome. The freshest bagels, made in front of you. (If you look closely behind the cashier, there is a vast of boiling water) The prices are decent. Great selection of bagels and sandwiches. I was there for a week on business. I rarely eat bagels. Lots of carbs in the morning. My coworker and I went there EVERY morning before work. We would grab a breakfast sandwich, coffee and sit outside enjoying our hearty breakfast. The staff is very friendly. They offer free coffee refills, which I did not know until I came up to the cashier to buy my boss coffee to go. They offered free refill. It's a laid back atmosphere. Lots of room to sit. Picked up some sourdough and chocolate chip cookies for the fam. I came here to get a little work done. After ordering my Egg Bagel sandwich along with some coffee, I settled and started working the WiFi is fine here but I did have to keep re-joining. My Egg bagel was decent and reasonably priced considering prices these days. But I would have to say the coffee was bland and not strong enough for me. The mornings on the weekend you can expect to wait a good amount of time. weekdays and non holidays usually it isnt too long of a wait. they also have an way to order online to save some time. Lots of parking spaces which is a good thing. the employees are very friendly and fast. overall if you are in a rush order online and pick it up, otherwise just sit and relax and have some bagels! This is specifically for the thanksgiving pies. We ordered an apple and a pumpkin pie and both were bad, but the pumpkin was particularly terrible. A weird taste and a very odd texture. Crusts were the same. We feel qualified to judge-for years we've had homemade by a family member who couldn't make them this year. We know what pie is supposed to be and we were so surprised that a bakery would make such bad pies. We were so bummed we didn't just get them at Trader Joe's or Costco. read more

Manhattan bread and bagel always seems to have a line out the door. The first time I visited I waited in that long line but now I know better and order ahead to avoid the wait. The regular drip coffee is not expensive and you get free refills. I usually get a medium vanilla roast and add half and half. The bagels are wonderful and chewy, I recommend having them fresh and not toasted to get the full experience. They have so many cream cheese flavors but my favorite is the chive cream cheese. They usually really load up your bagel with the cream cheese so you could share the cream from one bagel with another if you do not need huge amounts. There are lots of bakery items and one of these days I need to try their cup of chocolate chip cookies that I always see. Overall this is a delicious bagel spot. read more

I love this place. Loved in high school loved it now. The go to is the rosemary chicken sandwich (back when Rubios was in the same lot). But the best part is the cold pasta you get with it. And you get an orange. $12.99 is a steal (didn't even know they did half sandwiches). Even Panera Bread can't beat this. You can switch out the bread (whatever they have on rotation). Shocking I never tried any others. Maybe pesto chicken. Haven't eaten a bagel either (wonder if you have to buy butter). I tried to find the cold pasta that comes with the chicken on the menu online. No avail. I wish the locations because they have a winner, but I guess not. However, that has its own charm too. Didn't know Toast had a points and rewards with them. Similar experience with many other reviewers. Service is consistently slow. There may be one or two people in line, but the line still takes a long time. Not sure if the orders are overly complicated or what, but this happens every time. Tables are dirty as others have mentioned because it doesn't look like they have anyone working the front to clean up periodically. Trash cans can be full as well. I come here for the lox bagel, and it is what keeps me coming back. It is a well sized portion with lox on both halves of the bagel, loaded with cream cheese, tomatoes, capers, and onions. Yummy. The bagels here are like no other! One of my favorite places and I highly recommend the food and their bagels. I ordered 2 bagel sandwiches this morning and they came packaged in plastic. I assumed the sandwiches would come wrapped in paper. I understand it's my responsibility to ask, and I didn't but why couldn't they be wrapped in paper? This plastic packaging is horrible. Long: Manhattan Bread & Bagel has a large menu that has a ton of different options! Both the sandwhich and bagel were great and very tasty. The smoked salmon was fresh and had a lot of flavor. Both the bread on the sandwhich and the bagel were crunchy but also soft on the inside. So far one of the better bagels I have had in LA! Service was a bit slow and they ran out of multiple items so our order had to be adjusted. FYI this restaurant does get extremely busy on weekends. The caper wasn't overpowering and that's usually the issue I have with this type of sandwich, but this was one was perfect.
