Came here with my boyfriend after a 16 mile run from Pacific Palisades to Manhattan Beach and honestly it was the perfect place to land. Got there right before the dinner rush without reservations and were seated immediately. Always appreciate that. Justin took care of us and was such a gem. Warm, attentive, just very thoughtful and kind the whole night. He even surprised us with the Elvis dessert at the end, which was really sweet. The space is beautiful. Dim lighting. Glowy inside. Lively but not too loud. Very Manhattan Beach. We got the bacon cheddar buttermilk biscuits, roasted Alaskan halibut, and grilled skirt steak. The biscuits were unreal. The halibut felt light but still rich in the best way. The skirt steak had a great char and was exactly what I wanted after that long of a run. Just a really lovely dinner after a long run. We were really looking forward to dining here, but the experience was disappointing from the start. We did our due diligence by checking Yelp and Google Reviews which all showcased this great outdoor dining area (photos and listed here on Yelp and other sites), and we even made an OpenTable reservation specifically requesting "outdoor dining" in the comments. Despite the request, no one called us to clarify their seating options. After navigating the very challenging parking in this area, we arrived only to be told by both hosts that they don't actually have any outdoor dining accommodations. We understand if policies or layouts change, but it would have been professional to receive a call letting us know beforehand. Fortunately, this led us to call The Strand House, where we were able to get a wonderful patio table. They were incredibly professional, and the food was both terrific and memorable. While we won't be returning to MB Post, we highly recommend heading over to The Strand instead. read more

I had a fantastic dinner at MB Post! The food here never fails to impress. The Hamachi Crudo was incredibly fresh and flavorful--a perfect way to start the meal. I was most surprised by the Skirt Steak; it was so tender and juicy that I could hardly believe it was a skirt steak! It literally melted in my mouth. The Lobster Risotto was delicious, though it was a tad on the salty side for my taste, but still very rich and satisfying. However, the absolute highlight of the night was the Bacon Cheddar Biscuits. Came in for a quick drink and would be interested to try the food. We came after brunch on a Sunday and so only got drinks and their Blueberry Coffee Cake (which was so yummy and had a delicious crumble on top). The Old Fashioned I had was good, and my friend got a White Negroni which was super tasty and reminded me of something I had in Spain. The wait staff is pretty attractive as well, so it's always nice to have something to look at while we wine and dine. Only thing preventing the 5 star was the bartender didn't know how to make Bee's Knees, but forgivable. The service and the food is superb every time we come here! This particular review is from when I last visited in November and Carter B was our sever. Came to Manhattan Beach Post to celebrate one of my best friend's birthdays and had a great experience. The restaurant has a cozy, well decorated space with a warm and inviting vibe that makes it perfect for a celebration. The service was attentive and friendly throughout the night, which made the experience even better. We started with their famous bacon cheddar biscuit. I was initially skeptical since I am not usually a biscuit person, but it ended up being delicious, especially with the whipped maple butter. We also tried the hamachi which was fresh and nicely paired with fruit, along with the brussels sprouts and the arrabbiata. Both were flavorful, with the pasta having a great chewy texture. The MB Post Breakfast doesn't look like a big portion when the plate first comes out, but looks can be deceiving! I was totally full after dessert. The butter with the fluffy biscuit was absolute heaven. I really enjoyed the green sauce--I used it on both the eggs and the potatoes. The fruit was refreshing, and the bacon was so perfectly crunchy. The key lime éclairs were so delicious. I was genuinely sad that we had to split two bars between four people. The waiter was so nice and attentive, checking in often without feeling intrusive, and he had great menu recommendations that made the experience even better. The ambiance was warm and lively--modern but cozy--without being too loud to enjoy a conversation. It felt like the kind of place you want to linger in. The only reason this review isn't a full 5 stars is because I went back a second time on a different day, and it wasn't as good. In fact, I mentioned that the lime zest was missing from the éclairs, and only after I pointed it out did they bring our party another plate. We had a really positive experience with the service from the moment we walked in--friendly, attentive, and consistent throughout the meal, which definitely stood out and made us feel welcome. That said, the food didn't quite live up to the same standard. I initially wanted a breakfast burrito but was told it couldn't be customized since the filling is pre-prepared the day before, which was a bit disappointing. I ended up ordering the traditional breakfast instead. Unfortunately, the potatoes tasted like they had been cooked earlier and reheated, and the bacon was overwhelmingly salty. We also tried the specialty bacon cheddar biscuits, which were a letdown--very dry and hard. We ordered two servings but left one untouched because they just weren't enjoyable. Overall, we'd rate this experience 4 stars largely because of the excellent service. I came here for my moms birthday with my family! Didn't know what to expect cus I didn't look at the menu but I was pleasantly surprised. We ordered the biscuits, little gem salad ( I think that's what it was called) the pork ricotta pasta, the burger, chicken sandwich, and one pasta that I don't know the name of. I hate to say the biscuits and fries were my favorite .... LOL. It might be bc I was hungry and it was the first thing we ate but it's delicious! The chicken sandwich was also my favorite. That green sauce that's in there, so fire. I ordered the ricotta thinking it was risotto.. so I wasn't really a fan of it. :/ I also really enjoyed the salad, it was really refreshing and the lettuce they use is soooo juicy and fresh! The burger was alright and I didn't try to pumpkin cake or that other pasta I have pictured but my family loved it! Don't think I'll ever try this place on my own but it was a pleasant experience. Spent a weekend exploring Manhattan Beach and decided to have brunch in this restaurant which is located just across from the beach. It was a busy day for them but glad that we made a reservation ahead. The restaurant has multiple sections for either group or intimate seating. At the lobby, there's couches facing a fireplace. When you enter the main dining room, there's a bar and a lot of seating available. We decided to order the following: Lobster avocado toast $28 Eggs Benedict $23 Blood and smoke $13.50 I loved that the ingredients were fresh including the lobster. I love avocado with anything so when it's paired with fresh lobster, it's perfection. Eggs Benedict was also delicious and I loved that eggs were perfectly cooked. Decided to come here for Happy Hour since we needed to kill some time and get a quick bite before a birthday party. The place has been updated since the last time we were here years ago. I really like the decor, they have a lounge/bar area in the front and dinner seats in the back. We were seated quickly in the front. Server came right away to get our drinks and take our order. We decided to get the jidori fried chicken sandwich, couple orders of fries and 3 MB Post burgers. Burgers were really good, meat was fresh and juicy. We just had the Japanese Hamachi Crudo, which was fantastic. The Finn in it gives us amazing rush bite after you taste the Crudo. We also ate new to the menu the creole honey butter lays half chicken. Let me tell you the sauce on this chicken was fantastic. It's a white barbecue sauce. As far as the staff the manager Marquin is incredible. He's actually working behind the bar helping the bartenders to keep up on drink so they don't go out late. Our bartender Lucas was amazing super friendly, very engaging and made a delicious mock cocktail from scratch. if you're in the Manhattan Beach area I would definitely stay to stop by. The restaurant still has a lovely interior renovation, with lots of plants and an inviting ambiance, but the food no longer feels as special as it once did. We stopped in for brunch and thought the eggs Benedict was fine, though nothing memorable. The warm pecan dessert was especially disappointing: it arrived on a cold cast-iron skillet, was only barely warm, and lacked the soft, sticky texture we expected. A team meeting dinner for 8- the vibe of tge atmosphere is light and many succulents. We struggled a bit figuring out the menu as our waiter said the dishes are shareable but it is such an eclectic menu. We ended up each selecting our own dish and frankly once we got the fishes it seemed to make more sense with the size of the portions. Everyone mentioned they enjoyed their dishes so that IS the goal! My pasta was really good and more than I could finish! I've been here a few times for brunch/lunch but this review is for the dinner menu. I reserved this place on Opentable for my boyfriend's 30th birthday. And though it isn't necessary, I thought it would have been nice if our server checked our reservation and saw that I had put it twice that the occasion was for a birthday, and would have wished him a happy birthday. We ordered the famous biscuits as I was raving about them on the way to the restaurant, yuzu zucchini salad, Japanese hamachi crudo, and grilled skirt steak. Consistently a great dining experience! I hadn't stopped in here for many months and I'm so happy I did last night. As per usual, the food and drinks were delicious. Had a late brunch here today. It was a good time to come - 2 pm. Not very busy. The place can get loud. We had really good service. We had a very light meal but everything was good. My friend had the biscuits - she wanted them to be more flaky, but the flavors were great! We also had the pumpkin coffee cake which was delish! The green beans and crudo were also very good. The only thing about the crudo was it was a little thicker than I like - still tasted good with pomegranates. Maybe more seasonal items. There's lots of parking within a short walk. Great for sharing and much more filling than it looks. I'd recommend everything we had, and then some. Yes, prices are a bit high, but in-line with expectations for the neighborhood and the quality. Service was efficient, courteous and very much appreciated. I will definitely be back for dinner. I can see why this place is a hit for locals, and should be on every tourist's list. They forgot one of our dishes and didn't bring it out until we were all finished with our mains and asked about the missing dish. The waiter said he would check with the kitchen and I guess it was missed. We were then charged for it twice on our bill... good thing we caught the extra charge. Kind of annoying that they not only forgot one our dishes but also tried to charge us for it twice. Came here for dinner on a Thursday night with reservations. Parking is hard find even on the weekdays. The restaurant is beautiful and there is a nice waiting area where you can order drinks. The food was good and the presentation was wonderful. The DineLA menu seemed to be an up charge so we ordered off the regular menu as well. One person ordered off the DineLA menu and got the scallop crudo, sea bass, and pistachio ice cream. The scallop crudo was very fish and not pleasant in mind. The sea bass with curry was a little too sweet and dry. The pistachio ice cream was amazing though, and I would definitely recommend this. We also got the shellfish bolognese, skirt steak and scallops. The skirt steak was great, and the brocollini that came with it was super charred and flavorful. The bolognese was not what I was expecting, did not taste much shellfish and it was more of a meaty dish, but still good. The scallops arrived after we were done with all of our food, but they were probably the best main course. They were sweet and perfectly cooked. MBP is known as a nice restaurant and with the price tag I expect excellent food and service. The food is pretty good, some dishes have room for improvement. I was already slightly annoyed when they were forgetting drinks, but they also forgot an entree which is a much larger mistake. Bringing food out 20 minutes later when everyone is done eating just isn't really the vibe we were expecting from a restaurant of this caliber. There is a reason why this place is a staple in Manhattan Beach. I've never had bad service here. The food is always great. You have to start off with the biscuits and charcuterie (add all flavors together). A must. Can never go wrong with their salads either. I do love their pork tomahawk or their pasta dish and my new favorite is their steamed mussels in the coconut curry....wow! I have been trying to find the recipe to replicate it and just can't. It's so so soooooo good and I'm not even a big curry fan but this dish, it is so flavorful yet not overbearing. I just love the sauce. As I'm writing this I am contemplating going there just to get this dish. Lastly, my new dessert strangely enough is their upside down pineapple cake with the ice cream. I am not a fan of cooked pineapple (I loathe pineapple on pizza...yes I said it. Someone had to).....but this.....the cake is similar to Mastros butter cake and the pineapple gives it that flavor. For mains, I got the lobster avocado toast, and my boyfriend got the carnitas breakfast chimichanga with beans, both of which were pretty good. Their drinks are not my favorite, I always order one, but I think they need a mixologist that can fine tune some of the drinks. Some are too sweet, some not sweet enough, some super spicy. We ordered the biscuits, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, seafood pasta, tiramisu, and ice cream. The flavors and combinations were wonderful! Next time I would be sure to re-order the biscuits, Brussels sprouts, and ice cream. Service was attentive and friendly. The restaurant was somewhat dark, but casual and neat. The brunch service was excellent! The entrance is nice and clean, the staff is very friendly and the ambiance is welcoming. The drinks are good and all of the menu items are made fresh in house. Thank you to our waiter Darren who was so friendly, he even made our baby laugh and smile! read more

Came here with moms after we missed breakfast at Marmalades, a bit up the road. Glad we came to the Post. Now granted, neither one of us have been here since pre-covid, and a few precious things are no longer on the menu starting with the old school fried chicken. Lucky for us, those biscuits that you see pictured in countless reviews remain. I must have inhaled mine inside of a minute and a half and I'm being generous at that. and while our minds were set on the fried chicken, we did come away with the grilled variety. We both ordered the two big grilled birds, which were surprisingly seasoned well. Now you already know that you're going to be hit in the pocket a $$$a tad bit rolling up to the Post-but by and large they usually deliver is the reviews again will attest to. But back to the chiken-it's actually huge relevant to the price, so no worries there. And after that biscuit, if you have a drink or two which we settled on coffee, you're pretty much barely able to walk out of the joint. which, quite naturally, brings me to the level of service. In a word, awesome. We were in great hands with Mr Knox, who did a great job in going bullet by bullet down the menu and helping us to decide on the grilled chicken, since the fried variety was no longer there. I've heard good things about this restaurant, a staple in manhattan beach area. I think I might have overhyped myself for this place because my experience here was just okay. We ordered their biscuits, Brussels sprouts, fries, scallops and skirt steak. Majority of the dishes were on the saltier side. I know skirt steaks can be chewy but this one was very very chewy. Service was not the greatest- we kept having to ask a different waiter for our server to come to our table. It's a cool hangout spot, would like to give it another chance and try different items on their menu. read more
