    Old Fashioned
    Joseph D.

Came in for a quick drink and would be interested to try the food. We came after brunch on a Sunday and so only got drinks and their Blueberry Coffee Cake (which was so yummy and had a delicious crumble on top). The Old Fashioned I had was good, and my friend got a White Negroni which was super tasty and reminded me of something I had in Spain. The wait staff is pretty attractive as well, so it's always nice to have something to look at while we wine and dine. Only thing preventing the 5 star was the bartender didn't know how to make Bee's Knees, but forgivable. I'll come back and update the review after I try more of their food and maybe give that extra star.

All you need to order are the biscuits!

Just come for the biscuits...biscuits, biscuits and more biscuits! The food is fantastic, great service and ambiance. One of my faves was the mussels in the curry sauce with sticky rice, so flavorful. The Brussel sprouts were on the oily side for me, I was hoping for some crunch but it was swimming in oil. We had a large party and the food came out at a nice pace. Did I say the biscuits are to die for?

Seasonal dessert with green apple and The Elvis

Realized the last time I wrote a review about my favorite restaurant ever was 11 years ago. Time for an update- it is still my favorite restaurant in the South Bay. The service and the food is superb every time we come here! This particular review is from when I last visited in November and Carter B was our sever. I brought my friend who was in town and we got the skirt steak, bacon cheddar biscuit, green beans, mussels, Brussel sprouts, and two desserts! I love The Elvis dessert but the seasonal dessert we got was just as good. The ambiance is great, but it does get a little loud sometimes.

Came to Manhattan Beach Post to celebrate one of my best friend's birthdays and had a great experience. The restaurant has a cozy, well decorated space with a warm and inviting vibe that makes it perfect for a celebration. The service was attentive and friendly throughout the night, which made the experience even better. We started with their famous bacon cheddar biscuit. I was initially skeptical since I am not usually a biscuit person, but it ended up being delicious, especially with the whipped maple butter. We also tried the hamachi which was fresh and nicely paired with fruit, along with the brussels sprouts and the arrabbiata. Both were flavorful, with the pasta having a great chewy texture. The fries were a standout, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Overall, the food, service, and atmosphere made for a really enjoyable night, and I would happily come back again.

    Key lime eclairs

Came here for brunch and got the MB Post Breakfast with bacon and the key lime éclairs. The MB Post Breakfast doesn't look like a big portion when the plate first comes out, but looks can be deceiving! I was totally full after dessert. The butter with the fluffy biscuit was absolute heaven. I really enjoyed the green sauce--I used it on both the eggs and the potatoes. The fruit was refreshing, and the bacon was so perfectly crunchy. The key lime éclairs were so delicious. I was genuinely sad that we had to split two bars between four people. The waiter was so nice and attentive, checking in often without feeling intrusive, and he had great menu recommendations that made the experience even better. The ambiance was warm and lively--modern but cozy--without being too loud to enjoy a conversation. It felt like the kind of place you want to linger in. The only reason this review isn't a full 5 stars is because I went back a second time on a different day, and it wasn't as good. In fact, I mentioned that the lime zest was missing from the éclairs, and only after I pointed it out did they bring our party another plate. Hoping my first experience was the true representation of how great this place can be!

I came here for my moms birthday with my family! Didn't know what to expect cus I didn't look at the menu but I was pleasantly surprised. We ordered the biscuits, little gem salad ( I think that's what it was called) the pork ricotta pasta, the burger, chicken sandwich, and one pasta that I don't know the name of. I hate to say the biscuits and fries were my favorite .... LOL. It might be bc I was hungry and it was the first thing we ate but it's delicious! The chicken sandwich was also my favorite. That green sauce that's in there, so fire. I ordered the ricotta thinking it was risotto.. so I wasn't really a fan of it. :/ I also really enjoyed the salad, it was really refreshing and the lettuce they use is soooo juicy and fresh! The burger was alright and I didn't try to pumpkin cake or that other pasta I have pictured but my family loved it! Don't think I'll ever try this place on my own but it was a pleasant experience. All of the servers were very attentive and nice. The restaurant is right in front of the ocean and the inside gives outdooorsy vibes, like it feels like you're sitting outside but you're actually inside!

Lobster Avocado Toast and blood and smoke
    Cris I.

Spent a weekend exploring Manhattan Beach and decided to have brunch in this restaurant which is located just across from the beach. It was a busy day for them but glad that we made a reservation ahead. The restaurant has multiple sections for either group or intimate seating. At the lobby, there's couches facing a fireplace. When you enter the main dining room, there's a bar and a lot of seating available. We decided to order the following: Lobster avocado toast $28 Eggs Benedict $23 Blood and smoke $13.50 I loved that the ingredients were fresh including the lobster. I love avocado with anything so when it's paired with fresh lobster, it's perfection. Eggs Benedict was also delicious and I loved that eggs were perfectly cooked. The blood and smoke was the perfect drink to complement both entrees. So the next time you're in Manhattan and wanted to splurge, I highly recommend this restaurant.

Decided to come here for Happy Hour since we needed to kill some time and get a quick bite before a birthday party. The place has been updated since the last time we were here years ago. I really like the decor, they have a lounge/bar area in the front and dinner seats in the back. We were seated quickly in the front. Server came right away to get our drinks and take our order. We decided to get the jidori fried chicken sandwich, couple orders of fries and 3 MB Post burgers. Burgers were really good, meat was fresh and juicy. My chicken sandwich was crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside. It also had a great spicy sauce... would order this again. Fries were nice and crunchy and flavorful. Great happy hour food and great happy hour price!

    Porter house pork chop

The moment that cheddar bacon biscuit touched my tongue, reality shattered. Warm, flaky layers exploded with molten cheese, each crisp bacon fragment delivering smoky artillery fire across my palate. The butter's richness created a golden aura around my trembling form as I reached for another, helpless against its power. But the true battle had only begun. The charcuterie board arrived like an ancient general's tactical map. Cured meats draped across the plate--each slice a different weapon in the chef's arsenal. Prosciutto melted like silk on contact and the accompaniments formed perfect support battalions. Cornichons! Mustard! The acid cut through fat with surgical precision, resetting my palate for the next devastating blow. Then came the porter house pork chop. Time stopped. The sear on that magnificent beast gleamed under the lights like polished armor. My fork sank through the tender flesh as if it were warm clouds, juices flowing across the plate in victorious streams. The mushroom sauce cascaded down, earthy and deep, each fungal note building a symphony of umami that made my eyes roll back. And the spätzle--those little pillowy soldiers absorbed the sauce, becoming flavor grenades that detonated with each bite! The lobster risotto entered the arena with aristocratic confidence. Creamy. Too creamy! The rice had achieved that impossible texture between firm and yielding, each grain perfectly suspended in a sea of buttery, oceanic bliss. Chunks of sweet lobster meat emerged like treasures, their delicate brininess elevated by the Parmesan's sharp embrace. Finally, the blood orange caramel cheesecake delivered the finishing move. Tangy citrus cut through rich cream, the caramel adding a bittersweet depth that made my soul ascend into the heavens above Manhattan Beach! Victory... was delicious.

Manhattan Beach Post nails it on every front -- incredible food, warm service, and a perfect coastal location. We ordered a variety of plates to share -- pasta, steak, crispy Brussels sprouts, yellowtail, pita, and a charcuterie board -- and everything was simple yet perfectly executed. You can tell the kitchen focuses on quality ingredients and clean flavors that let each dish shine. The ambiance inside is serene and inviting, with a relaxed coastal energy that makes it great for both a laid-back lunch or a cozy date night. It's the kind of spot that makes Manhattan Beach dining feel special -- refined but never pretentious. Definitely one of my new favorites.

A team meeting dinner for 8- the vibe of tge atmosphere is light and many succulents. We struggled a bit figuring out the menu as our waiter said the dishes are shareable but it is such an eclectic menu. We ended up each selecting our own dish and frankly once we got the fishes it seemed to make more sense with the size of the portions. Everyone mentioned they enjoyed their dishes so that IS the goal! My pasta was really good and more than I could finish! We did start with their biscuits and for sharing the portion is just only 2 so that added to the confusion initially. All in all service was very attentive! The food was flavorful and we enjoyed ourselves.

I've been here a few times for brunch/lunch but this review is for the dinner menu. I reserved this place on Opentable for my boyfriend's 30th birthday. And though it isn't necessary, I thought it would have been nice if our server checked our reservation and saw that I had put it twice that the occasion was for a birthday, and would have wished him a happy birthday. We ordered the famous biscuits as I was raving about them on the way to the restaurant, yuzu zucchini salad, Japanese hamachi crudo, and grilled skirt steak. My favorites were the cheddar bacon biscuits and yuzu zucchini salad. Personally I like this place more for brunch/lunch than for dinner but if you come please get the biscuits!!

Consistently a great dining experience! I hadn't stopped in here for many months and I'm so happy I did last night. As per usual, the food and drinks were delicious. We had the famous cheddar/bacon biscuits, scallops, baby gem lettuce salad and short ribs. Each dish was spot on. The highlight were the short ribs, very tender and seasoned to perfection. We will be back sooner rather than later! Sit at the bar, the bartenders are super friendly and don't mind giving samples of signature beverages!

Blistering Blue Lake Green Beans - more of an Asian flavor. Little kick to it.

Instead, I ended up with a full belly and side cramps from laughing along with our awesome server, Alvaro. The Man. The Myth. The Legend that he is! Small Backstory: Last Friday I lost my job of almost 25 years in public education due to a complicated work accident (my back was broken & I now have screws in my spine) and I planned to whine to my best friends into a cocktail or two, and get out plenty of Kim Kardashian ugly-cry faces until it would be time to go home. Enter ALVARO! This kind man had the nerve to be polite to us! The nerve! LOL. He greeted us with a warm smile while my cold heart was practically making it snow. He explained all portions of the breathtaking menu when I had planed to eat my sadness. He even had the GALL to say if we wanted something not on the menu that he would see what he could do to make it happen! Here I was, ready to drink Unicorn Tears, and he was cheering me up! WHAT THE??! LOL The three is us started with the MEZZE PLATE. And OH LORD! I think we ate the print off of the plates while trying to get to the last crumb. We polished off a whole extra serving of cucumber slices in the process, by the way, and I'm not embarrassed to say that. The Turkish honey-sweetened labne was such a party in our mouths! Make of that what you will. Each of us got a dinner entre, with mine being the S&S Fish and Chips. I loved that the fillet was not overly battered and the chips had an almost double-Belgium fried taste going on. I couldn't help but swipe several spoons worth of aged-cheddar grits off a friend's seared pork chop plate. Now THOSE were some butter-heaven sent grits! My drink, that kept shooting partially through my nostrils from laughter, was a classic margarita on the rocks. No margaritas were injured/harmed in the process of my belly laughter. At some point towards the end of our night, a patron of the mall next door pulled the site-wide fire alarm, ringing through the whole location for everyone to use caution and head to the closest exit. If you grew up like my friends and I, you don't follow that suggestion unless you're trying to run out on the bill like a jerk. Bless be to Alvaro, he stopped by our table several times to apologize about the noise and flashing lights and explained the fire department was working on it. I explained that the Hood Cricket sound didn't bother us and we were happy to wait out the alarm. So not only did Alvaro provide us with excellent service, an outstanding meal, and generous smiles, but he also made sure that we felt SEEN. And THAT is what made the whole evening worth it. No sadness or cringey tears about a lost job were needed. It ends up all we needed was a server named Alvaro at Saint & Second to make my spirits feel high again. Pricing is a bit high but was totally worth it! Patrons were dressed business casual. Sound level, not counting the hood cricket, was mid and conversation was easy to have. Several televisions were playing different stations but no captions were provided. There is handicap parking available in the parking garage located just outside the front door of the establishment and no stairs or elevators are needed to enter. There are several entrances/exits to the available outdoor seating area and outdoor heaters are available. Glances around showed me that every patron I saw was tucking into their plates with smiles and were enjoying themselves. I have already made plans to return to S&S in another two weeks because it was indeed THAT GOOD! And for those fine diners that are wondering, "But what is a Hood Cricket?" An HC is a chirping fire-alarm that some of us are able to tune out with ease. You're welcome!

We ended up ordering the duck breast and sea bass, and both were very good. The chef sent us a cheesy potato dish to make up for not having the special, which was very thoughtful. We also greatly enjoyed the complimentary birthday treat at the end of the meal, and the candle was a nice touch! Our server, Stephanie, was excellent--even better than the server we had at our last visit to the restaurant. She was very warm, friendly, and attentive, and had a great smile! She provided the type of service you'd expect during a fine dining experience. Overall it was a great dinner and it's nice to see a classy steakhouse in downtown El Segundo!

For starters, an Old Fashion with any one of their top shelf bourbons sets the mood, paired with the Elk Carpaccio which was simply mouth watering seasoned to perfection. Then the main course, I had the Wagyu Filet, my friend had the Wagyu New York Steak. Both were cooked med rare and served isolated on a warmed plate with a sprinkle of sea salt. Nothing else needed but we did order the Pan Roasted Mushrooms and Cheesy Potatoes sides which were great. Honestly, hands down the BEST filet and steak we've ever consumed. Excellent steaks, drinks, and service. Porterhouse will not disappoint. Thank you Ron for your service and thank you to your friends and family who came together to give us an amazing place to experience your legacy.
