The bartender was extremely kind and fun! She made amazing drinks! Friend and I came on a Thursday afternoon. He had the whiskey sour and I cant remember my drink's name but it was the 49 or something. They were STRONG! She did not skimp on the alcohol at all. It was very delicious though. Truth be told, I thought I knew where all the bars were especially the good ones. I realize why I never heard of this place. It is because it is in the aloft hotel. I don't normally frequent hotel bars, unless I am a guest of the hotel. And I've never stayed here at the aloft. I am Four flatscreen televisions display all the sports activity within Los Angeles as well as the nation Small bites and sandwiches available for a decent price How and why don't know this? I was compelled to find this place. OK, the jury returns with the decision that Joyce T was absolutely correct and that it shouldn't matter whether or not the lounge/bar is in a hotel lobby. Parking available right outside the lobby. If you're not a hotel guest, but you have food and beverage at WXYZ bar the front desk will validate your tickets so you can get out of the parking lot at no cost. Ok, it's a hotel bar, but the blonde bartender/server is the star of the show. She is so personable and knowledgeable on drink creations. No silly drinks here, unless you want it that way. The seating area is in the hotel lobby and the furniture and decor is quite modern and fun looking. It made me want to sit in their chairs and couches. In and outdoor seating. There might be help-yourself popcorn to nibble on, located by the hotel check-in area. I had a wonderful evening. read more

The friendly bartender is a live and well at wxyz. "Rhodi" was very charming and a fun chick to watch a game with. Attached to "Aloft" a hotel that caters to people catching a flight the next day. We were an assortment of bar patrons who will most likely not meet again. It was a fun little party, we had a pulled pork Korean BBQ sandwich and a grilled chicken sandwich, both delicious and served with a generous portion of potato wedges. Yes, it's a hotel bar. That being said, W XYZ was a really fun experience. I'll admit, I live down the street from this place in El Segundo, so I'm not a hotel patron. I came here under my own free will, which probably is a little lame, but I'm not ashamed. Happy Hour (5-7pm) only applies to drinks. $5 and change for beer, wine, and bottom shelf liquor. My biggest gripe with this place is that there are no food options on the HH menu. Normally not a huge deal, but considering that I think their food is overpriced for what you actually get, it would've been nice to have some discounts on the noms. We ordered a tiny portion of Mac & Cheese ($5), Buffalo Cauliflower ($8), and two a-la-carte fish tacos ($14!!?). The food was decent, just not filling at all for what we paid, and not by any means gourmet. However, the vibe was great - beautiful decor, a pool table, a view of the pool, and lots of seating/lounging areas (if you count the outdoor area, which there are no excuses for avoiding, we're in LA after all). It's also a wonderful place to meet people from all over the world - I had a few great conversations with tourists and locals alike. Definitely an awesome place if you're looking to dust off your social skills. read more

Happy Hour Review We came here around 6pm for happy hour(5-7pm). It's located inside the Aloft hotel. Upon entering, we were greeted with the music from a live DJ and the sound of lots of customers. It was promising to see other people already there. The place has a pool table, plenty of seating, and a nice view of their pool. It just adds to the relaxing vibe. We got four drinks, four sliders, and fries for a total of roughly $40. I personally thought the food was average at best but we were hungry and not too picky. The drinks were good and came out quickly despite the small crowd. The bartender was quick to check in on us and gave us refills as soon as our glasses emptied. Overall, if you're in the area and looking for a happy hour, this place isn't a bad place to stop at. read more

I like this place. Small and not too crowded. Bar has some great drinks and there is a free pool table in the back. A fireplace that many can sit around adds to the flavor of the place. Only drawback is that it's tight next to check in. I think they should build a slightly higher wall to separate the two spaces. read more

We were at AC hotel WXYZ lounge with a dozen colleagues on Thursday, December 19th from 5pm-midnight. We always have a great time here. However, our overinflated bills sparked a conversation the next day. We all had opened separate tabs and none of us had received an itemized bill, but just a credit card receipt with one total amount to tip and sign. A few people had asked for the itemized bill, but the 2 women who were servicing the bar had indicated that they were unable to print it. Wow! For all 12 of us who left the bar at random times? Management should look into this. I had organized this event and feel really bad for all involved. It looked like our bill was 30% more than should have been. Be aware all! read more

It's Happy Hour in El Sugdo and you are looking for a chill space to enjoy a cocktail and a chat, this is your place. The WXYZ is a hotel bar, nestled in the lobby of Aloft. There was a young lady playing a live acoustic set the night I went. She wasn't bad and the live music was a perfect backdrop to catching up with some friends who happened to be staying there. The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable about the menu offerings. The cocktail menu features cocktails named "Showtime" "Shaq Diesel" and "Black Mamba". The "El-gin Baylor" which features Hendricks gin, lemonade, Giffard Creme De Violette has to be experienced. This spot is fairly new, go see it. read more

A cool, Vegas-like, vibe and decor. I went there on a Thursday night to find a decent size crowd, but not too noisy and with adequate seating for more. A frequent traveler, I tend to stick with a hotel for years when I find one I like. Had to change hotels recently and it's only my second day staying at Aloft, but already impressed with the positive vibe here. Do yourself a favor and give it a try. I was staying at the hotel and this is a pretty stable place to get some food. Good selection and great taste. The employees take care of the customers. One woman saw that I was very uncomfortable while waiting for my food (it's a bar at LA and I was by myself) and said that she can call me in my room when my food is ready. Went in Sunday night to catch the remainder of the Dodgers game 5 of the World Series. It was a great atmosphere and amazing customer service from the bartender (Dara). Not great Live music..Tried to grab a quick bite to go ( cuz I had the flu) at the WXYZ bar  (had to go downstairs from the top floor and order because they have no phone)on Wednesday a black girl Nycole was bartending along with a white girl with long wavy brown hair and a large-ish nose( Heather?) possibly a bartender or waitress.. (Clearly not California Girls) ordered 8 buffalo wings to go  and they gave me 6 which I waited a long time for in an empty bar. I went back downstairs to tell them I had ordered 8 which I had pointed to directly when I made the order with the manager.(who left right after) Heather said okay I'll just have them make you 2 more.. I told her that in the time it takes them to make it they will be cold.. she asked me what I wanted her to do.. and repeatedly acted as if she didn't understand my concern. I said well could you just make a new order so they're hot?. She gave me a great big dumb/sarcastic smile & said Sure I can! She put the order in and while I waited yet another 20 minutes for them..  and probably angry because she had nycole deal with unhappy customers before me, Heather, made small talk w/snarky and insulting remarks because she knew I was unhappy with the service as well. Nicole was equally cold and Unapologetic.. what a sad customer service ethic they have.. the customer at the bar on her laptop was laughing in disgust and witnessed the whole thing, said they should have just given them to you after all that.. Because she saw that I ended up paying almost $4 more for those 2 wings.. the "New" prices aren't on the published actual hardcover menu that's all over the bar area. WARNING!(they're supposedly "being printed") I laughed and said isn't that kind of false information? Heather said 'we weren't trying to deceive you.'. In her snarky voice. Needless to say, they must have been thrown back in the fryer because they were black and burnt to a crisp and so dried out . not a shred of sauce.. they ended up in the trash. I hope they slept well that night.(karma!) I'll never eat there ever again the bar is the worst part of the hotel .. I had also ordered a hummus platter for the next day which was already cold and just enough food anyway ..Ive had better, but I was hungry.. don't go there for the food or the customer service.... there are Soooo many places around there to go to.. I did not have any clothes with me because I got stuck in LA.. Fortunately Cameron at the front desk had upgraded me to a great room on the top floor with an Open Door Breeze and a fridge..( the one star is for him) much better than the one I had before with a window that did not open and a wall outside of it.. Came here the other night for my bosses BDAY party which also happened to fall on Cinco De Mayo (Bday celebration + Cinco De Mayo + being a Friday Night made for a really fun time) ... The bar/lounge is really nice on the main floor (third floor) with a pool table and multiple couches to kick back and relax. The design is really well done with a very modern feel to it. Staff is friendly and responsive to requests.. We proceeded down to the first floor out by the pool for the party. The area is a bit small however was fine for the group we had.. Drinks were good our bartender had an ok selection (probably limited to our party, looked like a much larger selection on the main floor).. As for the prices I cannot speak to the fairness as I didn't have to pay for anything the entire night haha :) All-in-all I will return in the near future outside of a corp. party to get the full experience of W XYZ read more
