Place is super clean. Great atmosphere. Speakeasy it is. Great layout. Everything was Aesthetically beautiful. Restrooms were clean. Our mixologist, the young gentleman and the manager were good company. I loved their Prêt pour la Fête (Ready to Party) Which was Community Spirit Vodka, fresh lemon, Lo Fi Amaro, pineapple for $16 The hubby had an old fashioned. Parking is crazy. The entire area begins to get packed on any given day. Drinks are reasonably priced for a speakeasy and well worth it because Jessica KNOWS how to make a drink.

X Speakeasy is truly a phenomenal place to grab a drink, relax and enjoy the company of friends or an intimate evening with your significant other. Firstly the hospitality and kindness John provided during their Rum tasting party March 30th. I am a member of a different speakeasy but love visiting others. As a disabled traveler because these places can be fairly small and tight I run into the risk of not being able to find a place to sit comfortably guarantee. When I emailed to RSVP for the festivities I inquired about ada accommodations. John provided phenomenal options that were not limited to one spot in the corner way in the back and forgotten as numerous occasions elsewhere this has happened as places had to make a makeshift space to accommodate me . John made sure we had a lovely spot to sit and enjoy ourselves comfortably. Upon entering he greeted us and guided my friend and I to our seat. Staff was so up beat and friendly and checked in on us throughout our time there. Had it not been the fact i had work the next morning I would have stayed longer. The ambiance and feel were the best vibes. The dj in the back was so lively and fun despite no one at that time dancing. As for the ada requests. This place would work for people like myself who use mobility aides. I switch between canes and my wheelchair. The space provided ample seating options for us to either sit comfortably with a chair * some adjustments would be needed prior to arriving* or sitting in the chair. The bar itself offers Hightower and low table options, a spacious dance area and a decent sized restroom that's also comfy for us who need more space. Our drinks were phenomenal, full of flavor storng and delicious. There is a large variety to choose from and I plan to plow through the menu each additional visit so I can come back and tell you my top reccomendations. I love all kinds of drinks so I can't wait to taste test everything and categorize my favorites. As always drink responsibly. I live local so do not have to risk drinking and driving as the drinks here will pack a boozy punch. My overall experience here exceeded expectations and finds itself at a high number on my list of fun cocktail lounges that are ada friendly.

Sitting at the bar to enjoy our favorite Negroni cocktails. I thought the drink was just okay, not the best Negroni I have ever had. The service was great though, very attentive and friendly.

I found this spot while searching for a cocktail bar nearby, and I'm SO glad I stopped in! It was a quiet Wednesday, but everything--from the music to the vibes to the customer service--was on point. The cocktails? Incredible. I had a gin martini followed by a French 75, and both were perfectly crafted and totally hit the spot. Emily was an absolute gem--friendly, knowledgeable, and just great to chat with. She filled me in on their happy hour (5-6pm), live music Wednesdays, and DJs from Thursday to Saturday. I'm already looking forward to coming back on a weekend to experience the full energy!

A fun cocktail bar-meets-disco in the heart of downtown Manhattan Beach! Connected to French bistro Fête, x offers great artisanal cocktails (try Who Knows!), attentive service, and bites by Fête amidst a cozy setting. You can opt for a quartet of plush velvet armchairs by the window, high top tables, or bar seating, and a spinning disco ball in the back room and cranked-up music volumes stand ready for later evening hours.

Not as clandestine as I thought it would be but overall a great spot with a touch for the Christmas decor! Bartenders were nice and made the place warm and inviting. Definitely on the pricier side but drinks were made perfectly. Not too sweet. Initially was worried it didn't contain a lot of alcohol but that was because they did a good job with the combos so it was subtle and definitely felt drunk at the end of the

Very cute speakeasy tucked away in the hidden side of the attached Italian restaurant. Very friendly people behind the bar and the tiki-esqe drink I had was crafted to perfection. Would definitely come back when I'm in the area

You can tell the chefs are dedicated to the craft. They're a 2025 bib gourmand restaurant and are hoping to aim for their first star, so their efforts into the decor, ambiance, and food shows (good luck!). The waitstaff/chefs were also very attentive. Mussels Tart - really delicious. Super unique and beautifully plated. No taste of fishiness or the ocean. Just overall a 5/5 dish that you must try. Beef tongue - I normally enjoy beef tongue thinly sliced at a Korean BBQ restaurant or coarsely chopped up in a street taco. They do it differently here. The beef tongue is one big cube. It's very flavorful and tender. Not as amazing as the mussels tart but still worth a try. Chili crab - this put them on the map. SUPER DELICIOUS. It's not what you'd expect from a creation called 'chili crab'. There's no shell to be seen and the crab meat is actually buried underneath. Scoop from the inside out. Tons of flavor and I wished the portion size was doubled. Lamb pappardelle - if you like lamb then you'll love this. Lots of different spices and flavors. It has a very deep flavor profile that makes you appreciate all the work and thought that went into designing this dish. I'd get this again also! Strawberry tiramisu - they brought this out for the birthday celebration. They prepared it in a gigantic bowl. Scooped out a generous portion and plated it right in front of us. I have a soft spot for tiramisu so I'd recommend this too. Best of luck on the Michelin star! I'd come back. 5/5

I really wanted to love this place. I read all the glowing…read morereviews and convinced myself the negative ones were probably just misunderstandings... but wow, I had it completely backwards. First, the restaurant itself is undeniably cute and cozy, tucked away in a corner of Hermosa Beach. Our first impression was honestly great, and we were excited to try it. Our reservation was at 5:00 PM, but when we arrived, the staff was still inside having what looked like a team huddle or group therapy session well past opening time. At first I thought maybe I got the hours wrong and they actually opened at 5:30. Nope -- 5:00 was correct. I understand pre-shift meetings happen. But maybe do the motivational speech at 4:50 instead of making customers stand outside after your posted opening time? They finally opened the doors around 5:10. Once seated, our server introduced himself by saying he was also one of the chefs, and apparently everyone dressed in white both cooks and serves. I didn't really understand the concept, but honestly, I don't care who brings the food as long as the food is good. These are what we ordered: SQUID -- This tasted like it had been marinated directly in seawater. Painfully salty. I genuinely did not understand the dish at all. Boiled squid with egg salad? Why? The portion was tiny, and we were hungry, so we basically used the mussels tart to dilute the salt enough to finish it. MUSSELS TART -- Actually delicious. No complaints here. BISTRO SALAD -- This was honestly shocking. It was SO sour that it was practically inedible. -- we literally take straight lemon shots every morning but this dish was hard to eat. This wasn't "bright acidity." This was weaponized vinegar. Bitter, aggressively sour, and tongue-numbing after one bite. We had to send it back because it was simply not edible. CABBAGE -- Flavor was good overall, but parts of it were so burnt that I genuinely questioned whether it was intentional or someone forgot it existed in the kitchen. Maybe it's culinary art I'm too uncultured to understand. FISH DIANE -- Delicious. No complaints at all. What ultimately made us decide we won't return wasn't even the inconsistent food -- it was the attitude. They still charged us for the salad we literally could not eat after sending it back. Then the couple next to us asked to keep one menu because they planned to order more later. One of the servers told them not to leave it on the table because she didn't want the menu to get dirty. The menu was a single flimsy printed paper menu. Not leather-bound. Not handmade parchment from the 1700s. Just printer paper. The whole experience felt oddly pretentious for a place serving burnt cabbage and acid salad. Some dishes were genuinely good, but the hospitality felt nonexistent and the food was wildly inconsistent. Cute restaurant, but definitely not somewhere we'd return to.

I let the host know that I was there for the wine tasting and he immediately set me up with a menu and a table. I decided on the "shareable flights". I then chose 2 white and 2 red wines. Didn't have a preference so I went with his recommendations or suggestions and allowed him to choose lol. The individuals who were there last night were mostly locals. Had the pleasure of meeting an older couple (Erin and Conrad Stanley) in which I ended up giving my last flight to them while we had an awesome conversation lol. Everyone was friendly and real cool. Not making me feel out of place nor uncomfortable. I also met another couple after they left. I went to the restroom, came back and a couple was standing near my table. So into his conversation, dude sat down then apologized for sitting at my table and I told him it's all good haha. Next thing you know we're all laughing and conversing haha. I really enjoyed my 3 hrs here. I had a great experience. Took a cross word puzzle for my entertainment and ended up meeting some new wonderful people instead. I will definitely be back. I have no complaints whatsoever. I was even told they allow dogs. Big win !!! lol

But no worries, we love leftovers! Food is always so creative and wonderful.at Tin Roof. Although we no longer live in Manhattan, still one if our favorite restaurants. Food and service are stellar! We started with cocktails, and of course prepared by our favorite bartender / cocktail specialist extraordinaire, Clark. Off Your Head (Bloody Mary) and Ophella's White Sangria. Both were very tasty! Tin Roof has an excellent cocktail program as does their Simmzy's locations. We started out with Brussel Sprouts. Definitely a hit with the whole table. Tin Roof definitely has the best around, flavorful with a nice crunch, never soggy! We all ordered a variery of starters for our first course. Several had Ceasar Salads. Several had the Watermelon and Feta Salad. One had the Bloddy Mary Deviled Eggs, and another had the Fig; Pistashio, and Cottage Cheese Toast. Everyone loved what they ordered. We were full before our next courses arrived! Our server was Malcolm. He was very attentive even though it was an extremely busy afternoon since it was Father's Day. He was very helpful explaining some of the options only offered on today's menu. They offered a Bistro Burger (five out of six of us ordered!) and I wanted to know how different this burger was from their Simmzy's Burger (my personal favorite). He was spot on, explained it was smokey in flavor and quite different with the pretzel bun. It was so.good, served with fries (best shoestring fries!), onion rings, and piled so high you had to use a fork and knife to eat it! We left beyond full! Definitely we will be back soon!
