​Kristina & I finally checked out the Tipsy Falcon in Hawthorne, located just a few blocks from East Manhattan Beach and about a mile from Manhattan Village, and it completely exceeded our expectations. We sat at the bar and were taken care of by Anna, who was absolutely fantastic. She gave us all the details about the place and really made us feel at home. ​Anna let us know that the owners are the same local guys behind El Segundo favorites, The Patio and Richmond Bar & Grill. That totally tracks, given the welcoming, neighborhood-staple vibe they've created here. The entire motif and menu are built around an awesome retro '70s and '80s theme--it perfectly balances nostalgic charm with a great modern dining and drinking experience. ​If you're looking for a place to catch a game, they have plenty of TVs perfectly positioned for sports viewing. The absolute best part? The prices. Finally got to check out this place. The interior strikes the best balance between almost divey and retro. Great booth spaces and high top seating. I didn't get to check out the back areas, but they seemed spacious. I took one of the high tops and was delighted to find that they actually put some thought into their NA beer offerings (no Heineken Zero, thank Christ). Ordered a very nice Best Day Kolsch. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. Went for the Falcon Sandwich, which is basically a clean version of their Bobby Flay-beating wings, and had some deep fried mushrooms added. Everything was super flavorful and satisfying. This place is a vibe. I love that it's family friendly; saw plenty of couples with their young children, strollers, etc. This is a far cry from the shady dives that once occupied this space. I can't wait to come back and try more of this menu. I think these guys may have a hit here. Recommended! read more

Thought I'd stop in and try this local bar that was recently taken over. It used to be called the Falcon Inn, and now it's the Tipsy Falcon -- and I have to say I was shocked when I walked in. What a transformation! The service was excellent, the food was really good, and those Korean wings... absolutely incredible. Honestly, they beat wings I've had from some very well-known chef Bobby Flay is says on menu Great atmosphere, great people, and a place I'll definitely be coming back to again. I'm so glad to finally have a decent dive bar in the area this is exactly what we needed! We came for their happy hour and they have some decent deals. The parking lot is pretty small though, it was kinda empty inside but there was only one spot left. I love that there's outdoor and indoor seating, also some arcade games and a pool table. The drinks are pretty strong. The Elvis drink tasted very strong of liquor but in a good way where you could taste everything else. I went for a classic lemon drop which they made perfectly. The tater tots were solid and the buffalo wings were ok. However, the onion rings had little onion and were completely cold when we got them. All the food took pretty long and the service was so slow, by the time we'd get our food it was cold despite it not being packed. read more

For my birthday last month I brought about 70 people down here and we all had a blast. The place isn't too big but there's enough room to where you don't feel crammed, and they also have a big outdoor section as well. We tried just about every cocktail on the menu and collectively liked them all! Didn't get a chance to try any real food, just appetizers like the fries but those were good too. There isn't a lot of parking though, maybe fits 10-15 cars total in the back lot. Thanks to Bryce and his staff, everybody was great! read more

Got a flyer in the mail and had to try out this spot. It was quite busy with all the seats filled inside so we sat in the patio area that's partially covered and has heat lamps. There was a good crowd there with one large party arriving. Servers are great! The retro 70s feel - menu included - is fun. They have TVs to watch sports all over the place. Popped into the Tipsy Falcon with some friends for their St. Patrick's Day Sunday shenanigans. What a fun vibe this place is throwing! Definitely an upgrade from the old Falcon Inn but playing homage keeping the falcon in the name. It's got a Regal Beagle vibe with 70's/early 80's feel, old school beer cans line the wall in the bar/dining area along with old LA Sports memorabilia and bar fixtures but in a new refreshed retro vibe. They have a nice pool table and game room with video and pinball machines where shag carpet on the wall for the finishing touch! And a great outdoor patio area with seating and TV's to catch a game. Our server (and bartender) was quick to come to our table and take our drink and food order. Two pints of Guinness were ordered and they poured a perfectly creamy pint of the black stuff. For food, we ordered the St. Patrick's Day Corned Beef sandwiches which were served on grilled rye and were delicious (but came with no sides). We came in for lunch and the 2pm Bagpipers but they obviously were delayed by being Irish and partaking in a wee bit whiskey at their previous stop, so the kind bartender offered a round on the Falcon, so very gracious! Stopped in the newly renovated tipsy falcon . Cool vibes good service extremely friendly and made me overly welcomed and comfortable. I can't recall the bartenders name but she was so nice. Got the fried pickles. She recommended this other plate man I can't recall the name but there's a picture below. 10/10. She even let me have some of her dark chocolate with almonds from her private stash. Some tried to take it from me and she went and hit it back lmao. Arcades and billiards. The food was amazing. We had Moms Taco Night, with both chicken and beef in the crunchy shells. The chicken was some of the best we've ever had. We also had their signature dish The Tipsy Falcon which was incredible. Mostly, this bar is cool. The server was so accommodating and helpful, totally fine with us being too high maintenance. And the space is very hip: pool table, juke box, arcade and a patio for chilling. Super cool spot. Went in on a Monday midday. Easy parking. Chris the bartender is the man, absolute great lad. Food wise I only had the fried pickle chips and those were absolutely delicious. I had a classic cocktail off their menu, the corpse reviver #2, as well as their Mai Tai which is the best Mai Tai I've ever had. It was our first time checking out the Tipsy Falcon as we wanted to walk into a local spot on a Monday night! This place is a little time capsule in the best way. The bar has that perfect retro vibe. You instantly feel like a regular even if it's your first visit and the employees were so warm and welcoming. We tried the mango-based milk punch which was an absolute standout. This was my first visit and I can hardly wait to return. The energy in this place is on fire. Anna, the server Extraordinaire, and the gentleman behind the bar were amazing no matter how Busy it got. Lets get down to business... If you like comfort food, this is Your Place! I will be trying Every Single menu item over time. I had the Smashburger and it was Perfection. Airy bun and very clean burger, with the perfectly melted cheese and not alot going on. (Perfect) My friend had the grilled cheese and tomato bisque. We shared an order of tater tots cooked to the most amazingly crispy little nuggets of gold. I will be trying the tots covered in cheese the next time and having "The Hippie" sandwich. On the 28th of January after a long day at work I wanted to have nice drink , good food and cool vibe. Well to my surprise upon arrival i was able find a nice seat , but i waited and waited and waited to be serviced. Once the waitress came over to our table she took my friend's order and never asked me. Finally she came back to get my order. Others were being serviced before us after coming after us . I tired to order another drink i had a friend of mine of another nationality to get the server attention to get my drink for me. On January 28th, I visited Tipsy Falcon at approximately 7:30 p.m. and was unfortunately disappointed with the experience. Firstly, our waiter exhibited a significant lack of attention and appeared to prioritize serving other tables, particularly those occupied by non-African-American patrons. Despite placing our drinks at 7:35 p.m., the waiter who arrived after us and the party that had recently entered was served before us. Regrettably, the waiter approached us and inquired whether we had received our drinks, despite our extended wait. When we finally managed to get her attention and place our order, she abruptly left the table. As she was departing, I requested that she hold on, as my companion had expressed a desire to order food, which she had not previously mentioned. While the bartender was courteous, I found it unprofessional for him to allow a female patron to engage in an inappropriate physical contact outside of the bar area. Furthermore, another party had entered the establishment after waiting for someone to clean the table, which I found rather unusual. Despite the positive aspects of the food, I was perplexed by the inclusion of mashed potatoes on a meatloaf sandwich. I am not particularly fond of this combination, and both of our sandwiches were served without French fries. read more

the falcon is back as the tipsy falcon. complete reno. now the falcon embraces a 70's theme - think disco balls, bell bottoms, and Hotel California. they have a cocktail menu. probably the only place in Hawthorne to get a classic spec negroni on a big rock with a fresh orange twist. beer menu is getting fine tuned but a good start with hard to finds like coors light on draft and russian river sts pilsner and local favorites like the el segundo brewery mayberry ipa. aside from the drinks, there's a something for everyone food menu that includes burgers, sandwiches, wings, salads, other vegetarian options, appetizers, and some massive milkshakes. the service is friendly, relaxed, but still maintains a sense of professionalism. a good number of tvs, 1 pool table, outdoor area, and solid sound system round out the experience. there's parking on site and plenty of street parking on rosecrans and parking across the street in the starbucks parking lot. will be back soon. read more
