Whenever my family visits my sons Grandmother we always end up dining here and for the last 15 years it never fails. We mostly always eat dinner here and it goes without saying one of us orders the chicken lemon soup - a Greek staple and it never disappoints! On this occasion I ordered the Gyro sandwich which was plenty of food for two - delicious. My sister in law ordered the keftke meatballs entree and those were delicious as well - completely shareable - and my son ordered the special filet mignon skewers with fries that was huge and definitely could have been shared ! All delicious The service was on par as usual and our waiter was great and attentive! [[HIGHLIGHT]]While the ambiance was fun and jovial -if you can score an outside table even better ![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Overall always a pleasant experience and with ample parking is never an issue !

We had a magical evening again, hosted by the man the myth the legend Petros! The vibe here whether you're inside or outside is just spectacular only to be topped by the food. And food you would not expect at a Greek restaurant. For example, my favorite dish ever is chicken Parmesan some of the best I've ever had. We started with a combination of Different pitas and dips all unique. My wife had a lamb sandwich that she just loved. Our other guests had salads and more chicken Parmesan. He also has a wine that is his personal wines that are all spectacular. A must go if in the South Bay!

The best Greek food in Los Angeles! All homemade and Petros makes you feel at home and part of the family! Try the Loukomades

Great experience and my girls loved it.

My family and I came to eat here and it was 5 stars plus. Our appetizers were very feeling and delicious. We had fried calamari, a dish with 3 different tzatziki like dips with pita bread and we ordered one other but my daughters eat it up before I had a chance to try. We ordered the Salmon, lamb, steak, gyro and a pasta with braised rib I believe. Again just like the appetizers, it was all cooked to perfection and the taste was truly amazing. I almost didn't want to finish my steak so I could have left overs. We had 3 different desserts again my girls took them over. Our waiter was Dimitri and was perfect and attentive. He explained all the dishes to us and engaged in conversation with us. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The whole experience was very welcoming and I can't wait to go back again.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The best part is they accommodated us without a reservation. We will be back again soon. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Also plenty of parking in the garage right under the restaurant, it wasn't noisy, we were able to enjoy our conversation without having to yell.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Everything about this place is welcoming. [[HIGHLIGHT]]As well the bathrooms were squeaky clean and well attended with supplies.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Petros has our vote to come again and again.

I have eaten here on numerous occasions and each time it just gets better. We had an amazing watermelon salad, lamb pasta, chicken parmesan and shared two amazing deserts. It's very reasonably priced and again the food quality is just amazing, top notch!!. Also the staff are very knowledgeable, fun and deliver excellent customer service. I will go again and again!!

Great location. Petro's is a Greek restaurant located in an in close shopping center like area off Manhattan Beach Blvd so it's a little tricky to find with gps. Parking is hard but you can drive around and find a spot. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We went on a Wednesday and it was slow.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Waitress was nice and ambiance is pretty and peaceful.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We had the Gloria Ferrer sparkling wine and it was delish. Also ordered the Lamb pizza. Very little lamb in the pizza and we also ordered the Chicken and shrimp combo. It was ok.

"Good" lamb pasta - but why add weird hot spice - not normal - not everyone likes heat and waiter should apprise guests of heat.

Our meal was "good", not great ... built "ok" at best. Good marg - not much tequila or rum choices. Lamb pasta was pretty good - not sure the menu mentioned it had spice or pepper flakes A it should and waiter should warn people - not everyone loves spice/heat. Seems like at odd choice to add hot spice to a lamb pasta dish. Other than that was good. Horiataki (sp) greek salad was "good" but weird - why add avocado? Should be peppers, onions, cucumbers A and what a weird way to cut cucumbers???? Had to recut them - annoying - maybe go to AVRA and have their salad and replicate it like a million other geek salads - tasted good but very weird prep and preservation - weird. Make it easier to eat - avocado super weird in a Greek salad and "long cut" cukes weird vs standard chunks / clean one bite edible chunks - weird. Waiter was nice man - but not really sophisticated or knowledgeable about food or the menu preparation when asked. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Not a bad night A but not great.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Each bite was a taste of the beauty of Greece and its authentic food. I was in full awe by the quality, the people and service that made me feel like I was transported to Greece itself. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Everything about this place was wonderful.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Petros, you truly have created a beautiful restaurant![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered - the Greek Caesar salad - melitzanosalata - shrimp saganaki - rack of lamb - all the deserts (had to try them all) I WAS IMPRESSED WITH EACH ONE!

We stumbled upon Petros by chance last year and adored it so much that we drove almost an hour each way to take our family back this year. My partner's family is Greek and the dishes here are all authentic and incredible (the lamb specifically is the dish they had to come back for)! On top of the great food, the location is perfect (right by Manhattan beach), they allow your furry friends on the patio during lunch, and the staff is kind and attentive. A must!

Petros Farm Platter, nice for apps or a vegetarian entree

Four stars for food and drink - with an extra star for the hostesses, for squeezing in an impromptu party of 8 - without reservations - on the patio on at 6 pm on a Sat. night! Hanging out with some fam, we were ambling around, weren't sure when or where we were going to have dinner. The hotel restaurant across the street looked like it could take 8 people - but it looked pretty expensive when we got there (even though they had *awesome* live music) and this place looked more intriguing. It is very popular, just like Nick's along the way - and filled up over the course of the evening. But the hostesses did us a solid and managed to get us two adjacent tables of 4 outside before the rush started. Thank you! I was going to get the watermelon and feta salad, which sounded pretty delicious - but the special of the night was a peach and arugula salad with a fig vinaigrette. Gave it a try and we really enjoyed it. Huge portion so it was enough for all 4 of us at my table to sample. My sweetie got the Avgolemono soup and really liked it. For entrees, one of us got the moussaka, another got the Petros burger, another, the half size of the chicken parm, and I got the Petros Farm Platter as my entree: heirloom tomatoes, feta cheese with oregano, lentils, chard, peppers, and excellent grilled bread. I liked the food and would give it 4 stars. I am not crazy for oregano, and didn't realize it would be on the feta - but otherwise, it was healthy and tasty. My cocktail also had a slightly different taste than I was expecting (it was a watermelon and mint cocktail, but there was something in there that made it taste a bit like a watermelon bloody mary). But the desserts were fantastic! You get a free Greek donuts with a scoop of yummy ice cream FREE with Yelp checkin. 4 stars for the dessert, but 5 for it being free LOL. But we also ordered the Chocolate Bougatsa - and it was AMAZING. Really delicious chocolate, pastry, and chocolate sauce. I was lapping up the chocolate sauce after. Overall, this is a hopping place, with a great patio - free live music from the restaurant across the way, easy parking in the adjacent parking garage, and very nice servers who hooked us up even without reservations. I enjoyed the food even if I'd get a different drink next time. Definitely recommend this place - we had a great time!

Amazing service and a great place for large parties! My work reserved a large seating for dinner to have with our vendor and it was a sucess. For appetizers and desserts we requested family style while the entrees were individually ordered. The flatbread with different dips had me coming for more. Loved the kafteri and tzatziki the best! For my entree I ordered the shrimp and chicken souvlaki combo which are skewered meats on a bed of rice pilaf and roasted veggies. It was the perfect dish that had everything I wanted. Their pomegranate mojito was refreshing for a summer drink. For dessert we got doughnuts with ice cream and apple pie with icecream. All very yummy! Would recommend here for amazing Greek food.

    Is it a quiet environment?

I've only been for lunch, and it was quiet. I imagine for dinner it can be a bit noisier due to the busy location.

The Mediterranean menu is inventive and amazing top to bottom. Start by heading to nomadsouthbay.com and sign up for their email list to get a free hummus appetizer. It's $16 on the menu and comes with a still puffy from the oven flat bread (pita). It's worth the money, but definitely worth joining the email list. After the hummus, we split five dishes for the four of us. The roasted cauliflower is straight forward and delicious, served atop a lovely tahini and turmeric sauce. The kale salad was light and delightful. The lamb kabob plate was exactly what you want in Mediterranean food. The steak atop risotto, a favorite from Jackson's (the prior establishment here), was near perfect. But the star of the show was the Salmon Esquites--perfectly cooked salmon over fresh corn, lime, crema, and pinto beans. I am salivating writhing this! And I'm going back soon!

We were not in a big hurry but we didn't want to have a two hour lunch. When you first walk in, you can clearly see the bar area directly off to your right. It was completely empty. But, I wanted to sit at one of the tables there are they have TVs above the bar. Something to watch in the background during our meal. I notice that there were about four tables taken in their "outdoor" area. So, no busy. We were seated fairly quickly but then it took about 5 minutes before someone came over to offer us water or to order drinks. Seemed like there were only two people working the floor and they seemed a bit ruffled. Overall, for the limited number of patrons who were in the place, I thought we'd get more attention, or at least get it quicker. Once nice, thing, they have some specials daily. My wife ordered the tacos and they were good. I ordered the steak and fries. The steak was good but had a bit of sinew in it, making several pieces chewy. When I needed a refill, I had to flag down one of the two servers. When I wanted our bill, I had to flag down the server. Just seemed odd, for a place that only had 6 or 8 tables occupied (at this point) that we would have to flag them down for service. As said, overall, disappointed and wasn't the mood we wanted to be in before our matinee. Hope your experience is better than ours and...enjoy!!!

However, since I've been back a few times, the consistency and care is extremely lacking. I always order the chicken caesar sandwich which comes as a wrap (I love this). It has always come in "wrap" form, despite falling apart quite a bit since the first time, but when I ordered it tonight it came in taco form with a wrap on top of the "taco". Much more difficult to eat, and it was clear there was no/minimal dressing within the sandwich. I also found a chicken bone in my meal, which makes me wonder about the standards staff are held to. I would not be writing this review if not for the chicken bone (picture attached), as the food is quite good and the staff gives exceptional service. Though the flavors in the food are nothing short of incredible (especially the sauce that comes with the Caesar sando) I am concerned about the care/storage of the food placed for customer consumption.

Al Hamra Kabob Grill is a restaurant run by a Pakistani owner, specializing in kebabs and grilled…read moremeats inspired by Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cuisine. The menu also features traditional Pakistani, Persian, and Arabic dishes, such as Beef Nihari and Haleem. After several visits, here are my thoughts on some of their grilled meats and desserts. Beef Kofta - 3/5. The kofta was a bit dry and tough. I wish it had more fat and seasoning to make it juicier and more flavorful. The grilling is also somewhat inconsistent--sometimes the kofta comes out beautifully browned, while other times it's over-charred. Grilled Fish - 4/5. This is easily my favorite item on the menu and, in my opinion, their best dish. The fish is seasoned just enough to enhance its natural flavor without overpowering it. It's grilled very well, developing a beautiful golden-brown crust while remaining moist and tender inside. Beef Shish Kebab - 3.5/5. The quality of the beef is decent, especially considering the price. Given the cut of meat they use, they've done a commendable job with the grilling. The beef has a solid seasoning base and a nice sear with just enough char to add flavor without becoming overly smoky. It's reasonably tender, though I wish it retained a bit more juiciness. Chicken Shish Kebab - 3.5/5. Very similar to the beef shish kebab. It has good flavor and is grilled well, but it could benefit from being a little juicier. Gyro - 2/5. Unfortunately, this was the biggest disappointment. The gyro meat on the vertical spit often appears to be rotating without enough heat to properly caramelize and crisp the exterior. As a result, the meat comes across as dry, rubbery, and lacking the rich roasted flavor that makes a great gyro. Kunafa (Knafeh) - 3/5. This dessert has both strengths and weaknesses. The cheese filling has a pleasant, slightly salty flavor and a creamy texture, and I appreciate that it isn't overly sweet. However, the syrup is underwhelming. A good kunafa should be generously coated with a fragrant sugar syrup - ideally infused with rose water or orange blossom water - to provide sweetness and aroma. I also wish the kataifi, the shredded pastry dough, were crispier and lighter to create a better contrast with the gooey cheese filling. Overall, Al Hamra Kabob Grill is one of the better places to enjoy Middle Eastern-style grilled dishes in the South Bay. While a few menu items could be improved, the grilled fish stands out as excellent, and the shish kebabs are solid choices. The owner is also incredibly friendly and welcoming, creating a warm, neighborhood atmosphere that keeps customers coming back. It's not perfect, but it's a restaurant I enjoy visiting from time to time and one I'd recommend if you're craving grilled Middle Eastern flavors.
