Overall a good experience, nice location. The service staff seemed overwhelmed a bit, but tried to help all patrons quickly as can be. The food quality was good.

Fantastic view of the ocean and beach. Great specials at lunch and on weekdays. We actually were walking to the Tuesday burger special at Hennessey's Tavern, which we go to often. They caught our eye. This was a perfectly cooked juicy burger with great, strong seasoning and fresh toppings. We got a side of fries, which were delicious and crispy from the blisteringly hot first bite to the last cooled fry. We may have a new beach side burger Tuesday joint with a slightly improved view! It's a solid jump in quality for what you usually find in Hermosa, especially this close to the water. Staff were friendly. I like the menu a bit more at the Redondo location but you can't beat the view and vibe at the beach. We'll be back to try the extensive drink menu

Coxinha (fried chicken pastry) 8/10 - the chicken inside was very good - The outside tasted like potato, the crispy outside was great Panelas Family Meal w/ 3 sides 10/10 - can feed three people - the steak was cooked to perfection, got it medium rare, not chewy, has a little bit of fat that is good - Steak is great with chimichuri sauce - Chicken was well grilled - Sausage was full of flavor Yucca fried 8/10 - a great alternative to potatoes - Definitely recommend trying Polenta Fried 10/10 - very tasty and paired well with the meat - Very crispy and soft on the inside Platanitos Fritos 10/10 - very good sweet banana - Paired great with the meats giving each bite a sweet taste Caipirinha lime & passionfruit 10/10 - pretty strong can give a light buzz - The lime and passionfruit mixed well with the alcohol Cachaca Cabare 7/10 - reminds me of hennessy, so if you like that you'd like this drink This is a spot worth trying! Everything's that I tried was great, we left very satisfied. Even though some of the items we got were fried, the food was very light. Our server Eva was very kind, friendly and attentive. She would explain menu items and gave us great recommendations. The atmosphere was very laid back and chill due to being by the beach. Love the sol cal vibes. There was no wait time when we went on a Sunday around 1 pm but it did start to pick up.

    Tri-tip sandwich

Our server was nice and friendly but the food was disappointing.. how do you serve this with no shame? got the flavorless tri-tip sandwich and there was barely any meat--probably better that way as the few pieces I got were dry and tough... the bread was huge and thick... fries were definitely frozen and fried yet barely warm... it was all very much hard to eat. Not sure I'd come back.

HAPPY HOUR: For those looking for good happy hours, this isn't it. We were drawn here and felt duped. The happy hour menu is misleading. It looks long but it's really an optical illusion. lol. It's just 3 random things across each day of the work week. 3 things we don't find inticing. No drink variety or food variety. No deals like the neighboring restaurants. DRINKS: Could they improve the beer menu a little? Modelo, Stella and 805 are like a blah grocery store's menu. FOOD: OK, adult steak is kinda fatty. KIDS: not kid friendly though they had kids meals. They perhaps wanted to help by cutting up the kids' steak. Bad that they choose to do this before they cook the steak, making waste of good meat that becomes rubbery to chew. My kids don't have the teeth to chew the overcooked. Which kid does? we won't bring kids again. I doubt we will visit again

This was an amazing restaurant with delicious food. My Brazilian friend recommended it and said it was authentic and he did not lie. The service was great and it was nice to be near the beach. I highly recommend this place as it creates a nice atmosphere and it's fun to visit.

What a gem on the Hermosa Beach Pier! Panelas HB exceeded my expectations for a first visit. The service was absolutely amazing--attentive, friendly, and made me feel welcome from the start. The ocean view is incredible, offering the perfect beachside ambiance for a relaxing meal. I had a caipirinha that was perfection, paired with their delicious chicken plate (served with white rice, a fresh green salad, and crispy fries). Everything was so flavorful and cooked just right. If you're looking for great food, drinks, and stellar views, this is the place. I will definitely be back! Highly recommend.

Invited to join Hermosa Beach's Chamber of Commerce for Panelas Ribbon Cutting ceremony, I was happy to try Pier Avenues newest restaurant! I don't throw out 5 Stars, but I must hand it to the amazing staff on their big day, despite the city wide power outage, the welcomed customers and guests and worked by the remaining day light until the power was restored with grace and remained calm and professional! Kudos to everyone! With the power outage and as things got dark I didn't stay to order some more of their amazing Brazilian options, their resilience and great service earned them the extra star and a definite return visit! Panelas has patio seating and this evening they had a live guitarist playing acoustic keeping the vibe a happy one (despite the city wide power outage)! The bartender Jessica mixed delicious concoctions, we really enjoyed the Caipirinha which is a Brazilian drink made with lime, sugar and wine based vodka. It can also be ordered with Blackberry or Strawberry; but the original is perfect! As part of the ribbon cutting ceremony they served empanadas (shredded chicken & beef), cheese croquettes and cheese balls. All delicious! I'll be back for these for sure! We ordered the cheese bread which were served in a little basket and were good as well. I had a chance to talk with the chef I believe her name was Marcella (I hope I spelled her name right) and she was obviously passionate about her beautiful craft! Definitely a great place for happy hour! Full bar and wines! Plenty of parking in the public lot (takes credit cards). They do have a kids menu.

The freshest and most flavorful place on the pier. I had the BBQ chicken with white rice and it was so well seasoned, even to-go.

My plate ended up costing 40 dollars but the high quality of the churrasco makes every penny worth it. You truly get what you pay for with this level of Brazilian barbecue. The food is consistently excellent across the menu. I always get the garlic rice and the cheese balls as my foundation. The fried catfish is a standout that I highly recommend to anyone visiting. For the meats, the garlic chicken and garlic beef are incredibly flavorful while the tri tip and beef cap are cooked perfectly. I also tried the garlic noodles which added a nice variety to the plate. Make sure you grab the green sauce before you sit down. It has a great jalapeño flavor that is not too spicy but adds a lot of depth to the meat. The service is efficient and the system works well even when it gets busy. I would totally come back to this location for another meal.

It's served/offered by the pound in advance and can be "to go" or "dine in" I'd say this too... you can easily dine in, then if you want more, just get back into line and order more, easily. The quality has always been spot on for me. I usually go to the location at The Grove's Farmer's Market, but that's a lot of traffic and expensive parking (even with validation), so this is now my new "destination dining" location when craving Brazillian Steak. I stick with the beef meats over the pork, chicken, lamb or sausage because the PICANHA (sirloin cap aka coulotte) is my all time favorite cut with a balance of natural fat and moist tenderness when served medium rare. Parking can be a challenge as it's in a huge popular complex, but it's doable with patience. The service is "self service" counter service, so it's fast and easy. The side salad entrees to add to this buffet style presentation is robust. The meats are constantly cooked slowly and fresh.

I really love the ambience and the food. It really felt like I was back in Floripa. The steaks were top-notch all of them perfectly cooked and the was something I really really enjoyed. The service was very quick and very friendly. The steaks came at a blistering pace, I couldn't keep up, which is something so great to have. They had anything from sirloin to chicken drumsticks to ribeye, so much more. I had to try as many of them, but I couldn't. It's just kind of a cool experience to have meets a varying kinds at random. Just come at you and it's just a great experience to have that happen. I did spend $200 for two people. Make no mistake. I was going to bring my family here to celebrate me and my sister's birthday, but my parents are vegetarians. We've gone to Fogo de Chao in the past, and my parents loved the salad bar there, and they were able to just pay for that. Green Field used to have an option for that too, but not anymore, I guess. I used to go here all the time, and it was great, but that was like 10 years ago. Reading the reviews, it seems like the customer service and quality has really declined. I've even brought a cake before to celebrate my wife's birthday, and I was shocked to read reviews that say they now charge $1 per slice to slice your own cake! How ridiculous and petty. Since Fogo de Chao is only a couple bucks more for the dinner, and they have a "salad bar only" price, it looks like we'll be going there.
