Overall a good experience, nice location. The service staff seemed overwhelmed a bit, but tried to help all patrons quickly as can be. The food quality was good.

Coxinha (fried chicken pastry) 8/10 - the chicken inside was very good - The outside tasted like potato, the crispy outside was great Panelas Family Meal w/ 3 sides 10/10 - can feed three people - the steak was cooked to perfection, got it medium rare, not chewy, has a little bit of fat that is good - Steak is great with chimichuri sauce - Chicken was well grilled - Sausage was full of flavor Yucca fried 8/10 - a great alternative to potatoes - Definitely recommend trying Polenta Fried 10/10 - very tasty and paired well with the meat - Very crispy and soft on the inside Platanitos Fritos 10/10 - very good sweet banana - Paired great with the meats giving each bite a sweet taste Caipirinha lime & passionfruit 10/10 - pretty strong can give a light buzz - The lime and passionfruit mixed well with the alcohol Cachaca Cabare 7/10 - reminds me of hennessy, so if you like that you'd like this drink This is a spot worth trying! Everything's that I tried was great, we left very satisfied. Even though some of the items we got were fried, the food was very light. Our server Eva was very kind, friendly and attentive. She would explain menu items and gave us great recommendations. The atmosphere was very laid back and chill due to being by the beach. Love the sol cal vibes. There was no wait time when we went on a Sunday around 1 pm but it did start to pick up.

The food was amazing! Highly recommend the Calabresa and Brazilian Picanha with the rice and veggies.

HAPPY HOUR: For those looking for good happy hours, this isn't it. We were drawn here and felt duped. The happy hour menu is misleading. It looks long but it's really an optical illusion. lol. It's just 3 random things across each day of the work week. 3 things we don't find inticing. No drink variety or food variety. No deals like the neighboring restaurants. DRINKS: Could they improve the beer menu a little? Modelo, Stella and 805 are like a blah grocery store's menu. FOOD: OK, adult steak is kinda fatty. KIDS: not kid friendly though they had kids meals. They perhaps wanted to help by cutting up the kids' steak. Bad that they choose to do this before they cook the steak, making waste of good meat that becomes rubbery to chew. My kids don't have the teeth to chew the overcooked. Which kid does? we won't bring kids again. I doubt we will visit again

    Tri-tip sandwich

Our server was nice and friendly but the food was disappointing.. how do you serve this with no shame? got the flavorless tri-tip sandwich and there was barely any meat--probably better that way as the few pieces I got were dry and tough... the bread was huge and thick... fries were definitely frozen and fried yet barely warm... it was all very much hard to eat. Not sure I'd come back.

This was an amazing restaurant with delicious food. My Brazilian friend recommended it and said it was authentic and he did not lie. The service was great and it was nice to be near the beach. I highly recommend this place as it creates a nice atmosphere and it's fun to visit.

What a gem on the Hermosa Beach Pier! Panelas HB exceeded my expectations for a first visit. The service was absolutely amazing--attentive, friendly, and made me feel welcome from the start. The ocean view is incredible, offering the perfect beachside ambiance for a relaxing meal. I had a caipirinha that was perfection, paired with their delicious chicken plate (served with white rice, a fresh green salad, and crispy fries). Everything was so flavorful and cooked just right. If you're looking for great food, drinks, and stellar views, this is the place. I will definitely be back! Highly recommend.

The freshest and most flavorful place on the pier. I had the BBQ chicken with white rice and it was so well seasoned, even to-go.

I would take the very first exit I saw and enjoy a nice meal. As fate would have it, that random exit led me to Café Brasil, a place that had been on my list for quite some time. After parking in what looked like a motel parking lot, I found the entrance to the restaurant. The decor was phenomenal, the vibes were beautiful, and from the moment I walked in, I felt at home. While asking a few questions and trying to decide what to order, I met Miss Fatima herself the legendary owner who has made Café Brasil a staple in Los Angeles for the last three decades. I ordered the feijoada and the pão de queijo. Fatima herself tried teaching me how to pronounce them, and somehow our conversation drifted to flight schools in the U.S. and Canada. I loved every bite of the food, but even more than that, I appreciated meeting someone who has dedicated herself to her craft and been consistent year after year.

Make sure to visit their sauce station and get some of the house hot sauce, it was great and really complimented our meal! We got the Chicken Stroganoff, Feijoada, and Lamb Chops. Everything was delicious and we shared it all between four people. I enjoyed the Chicken Stroganoff to most, the flavors were perfect! The Feijoada was also great and definitely reminiscent of the last time I've had this dish. Overall, we enjoyed our dinner here. This is a spot to get a couple of dishes to share. If you're looking for Brazilian food on the westside of LA, give Cafe Brasil a try.

The food is okay, but not up to standards, especially for the price. The service is great. The staff is very nice--that would be the staff behind the buffet and counter. I have no idea who takes care of the tables. We had to clean our own table. There was not a clean one there. The seating is comfortable. The place is pretty clean, but not close to great. Parking is super easy in the Culver Center lot. It is located in an outdoor mall. My husband ordered a lot of the meat, which they claim is great. It is not. It is dry and tough. Most of his plate was left full. Their sirloin cap, chicken, lamb, and garlic beef were just not good. As you can see my the photo of what I got, I knew this was not going to be good by looking at it. So, I had rolls, rice, chicken and potatoes. The rolls were dry and would have been great, had they been fresh. They were not. The rice was fine. The chicken was okay. For this price this place should be great. It is not, so don't bother.

The full-on churrasco experience is the only thing you should be preparing for here, although I've ordered takeout via DoorDash/Uber Eats as well when I've needed to hit my craving for picanha (it's surprisingly good even after delivery). The service has been strong and there's always someone coming by to offer you cuts, though don't be caught just waiting for the cuts of meat you want - they are more than happy to take your order for the meats you're waiting for. At first, I wasn't sure whether I would like it because I can be a little nervous about trying new places, especially if I've never heard of them before. But my husband reassured me that the food looked good, so I decided to give it a try. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt fancy without being over the top. The staff seated us right away and explained how everything worked. I chose the salad bar option, while my husband went with the full meat option. As soon as I tasted the food, I was immediately sold. The rice, beans, and mushrooms were all cooked perfectly. Everything had great flavor and the right amount of salt. Their salads were so good, and they had an endless supply of delicious cheeses and olive oil. They also served one of my favorite coffee brands, Lavazza, which made me very happy. On top of that, they brought out some amazing appetizers, including fries, cheesy bread, and plantains. The only downside is that the restaurant does not allow you to take food to go. I was honestly bummed because this is one of those places where the food is so good that you want to take some home and enjoy it later. Still, I absolutely fell in love with this place and always try to visit whenever possible.
