Good Peruvian chain spot in the southbay. They have solid Peruvian dishes such as lomo saltado, ceviche mariscos & pollo a la brasa. We also got the plantains and soup and the anticuchos de corazon (marinated beef heart skewers). The beef hearts were tender and seasoned and sauced well! The ceviche was very tasty. The lomo saltado was decent and the plantains were a good side. We also ordered the beef chaufa which was also good. The service was good and staff was friendly and the deal on wine was pretty awesome. I always love El Pollo Inka! One of my favorite places fro rotisserie chicken and of course their legendary Pollo Saltado!! Or Lomo Saltado is you prefer beef which I normally do but in this case I recommend the chicken. There are 4 or 5 El Pollo Inkas in the SouthBay so its a local favorite. This review is only for the Hermosa restaurant but all the locations are great. It's located on PCH at Aviation Blvd so its pretty easy to find. There is a medium sized parking lot but it is a very busy center so parking can be difficult sometimes. We both had the Pollo Saltado which comes with a cup of chicken soup and fresh rolls. The Saltado is shredded rotisserie chicken grilled w/ onions, tomatos, french fries and is served with garlic rice. I know, I know french fries & rice but believe me it works so wonderfully. And you must drench it in the Aji sauce, it's a magical thing and I put it on everything! The staff is friendly and the store is very neat and clean. Something that extends to the parking lot which is always well lit. If you need to walk off the meal there is a Trader Joe's & Five Below in the center. read more

The food here is SOOOO good. We got the $25 for $50 Groupon and was able to order: 1 whole chicken meal that came with a salad, garlic rice and 2 soups; plantains; cassava chips and a soda. The Groupon covered the whole tab. The chicken was perfectly roasted with the perfect amount of seasoning. The plantains were perfectly cooked, and had a little caramelized sugar. The four of us came here for an early dinner, craving Peruvian food. We love how Peruvian cuisine incorporates Asian-inspired flavors in the menu. At El Pollo Inka, we were happy to learn that any of the saltado entrées can be ordered in a healthier version with green beans instead of fries. I went with the vainita chicken saltado, while my husband ordered the regular shrimp saltado. Our friends chose the classic chicken and beef saltados, and we shared a ceviche mixto to start. We also enjoyed the complimentary soup that came with our meal. I can't handle spicy food, but everyone else loved the green sauce. Portions were generous and very satisfying. The restaurant had an open floor plan. Straight ahead, you could see the chicken roasting on a spit. A few tables were occupied. Our waiter quickly came over with menus. I chose the 1/2 Pollo a la Brasa. My husband chose the beef Chaufa. For drinks, we had Chicha Morada (house made). The waiter came back rather quickly with the drinks and then, with a bowl of soup! Totally unexpected! The soup was delicious, with chunks of chicken and flavorful vegetables. WOW! Our entrees arrived and looked wonderful. My husband loved his dish. Had a taste and it was real good. My chicken had a nice crispy skin with tender chicken, but I felt like it was missing a bit of flavor. We have been to EPI many times, however, it was the first time at this location. They'd lit is on a shared strip mall. The spaces are tiny and the lot is very bad. The restaurant space is also much smaller than other locations, but is newer and had a nice interior. It seems like EPI changed their menu since last time we tried them. The still have our LS favorites like the chicken fried rice, chicken over fries, etc., but they also have new items or at least new to us. We got the chicken fried rice and the chicken with cheesy spicy pasta. The fried rice was prepared better than other locations at which quality has dropped. The pasta tasted like spicy Mac b cheese and was very good. The service was also better at this location as many servers at other locations are obviously prejudiced and treat customers like them better and customers unlike them worse. The bathrooms are gender specific and in the back. We would definitely go to this location again despite awful parking lot. read more

The meat was fantastic and tender , the dish was not seasoned well, I think it was missing the cumin , they also didnt have a lot of onions and the whole dish was way too oily , I wouldn't come back here , soup was good , salad was not good and oddly seasoned. In the same plaza as Trader Joe's this place serves up a mean and tasty chicken that is cooked to perfection. Came here for lunch and sat inside. They have televisions playing sports games and just a nice and chill vibe. They have lunch specials and each one you order also comes with a tasty chicken soup. They also give you a bread roll with butter before your meal. My lunch was enjoyable and the chicken was the bomb. Would love to come here often, sadly there aren't any locations close to me though. Their selection of chicken and beef are perfectly seasoned and their salads and rice are the perfect complement to the main dishes. I know many people love to eat at the restaurant for its warm, fun vibe. This place is also one of my favorite places for take out. We usually order the whole chicken meal which comes with two sides and two small soups. It's generally enough food to feed 3 to 4 depending on how hungry you are. At the time I'm writing this the cost for this meal is about $30, which is great for a healthy meal that feeds a small group or family. The Lomo Saltado and El Pollo Inka uses only the freshest ingredients and spices imported from Peru. They are best known for their green Aji Verde hot sauce (Green Sauce), a sauce that will bite your tongue; I used to love it, but sadly I can no longer have spicy items. But if you can, go for it. Both were so delicious. I must admit rice absorbs the sauce from the Lomo Saltado better than the noodles. My entree came with cilantro soup which doesn't fully describe how filling the soup is. It's actually more like a chicken soup with cilantro. The dinner rolls are sweet and pair well with the green sauce. Service was excellent, we were served quickly and it all tasted so delicious. We were seated right away and server came out for drinks. There was only one server to three tables so the service of ordering was slow. However, the food comes out pretty fast once you place your order. We ordered quite a few dishes cause we want to try different variety. Whole chicken with garlic rice and beans. Chicken is almost a size of a hen. Not very big. Chicken is a little bland. You would need to dip in their house green sauce. But portions of sides are huge! Plus, every dish comes with their chicken cilantro soup and soft house bread. Ceviche Mixto: this plate was interesting. They serve the seafood with giant chewy corn kennels, sweet potato, potato, and sunflower seeds? The mixture of texture is what makes it so good. It was a little too sour for my taste. Felt like I was just eating it with me on water. Husband loves the beef saltado. He said it was the best. Meat was tender a d fries were crunchy. My favorite dish was the Pescada. The sauce was flavorful! The color I didn't like but the fish tasted fresh with the topped seafood. Sauce was buttery like a coconut milk base.
