The food here is SOOOO good. We got the $25 for $50 Groupon and was able to order: 1 whole chicken meal that came with a salad, garlic rice and 2 soups; plantains; cassava chips and a soda. The Groupon covered the whole tab. The chicken was perfectly roasted with the perfect amount of seasoning. The plantains were perfectly cooked, and had a little caramelized sugar. The soup was really good & not salty at all. They gave a mild and spicy aji sauce that went very well with the chicken. Everything was delicious, and the service was really good. They were attentive and very kind. There is construction going on for the building but don't let it deter you. They're still open!

Been quite some time since our last visit and they have really stepped up the game. Happy hour 3-5 on weekdays, $3 beer and $6 Michelada. Several happy hour appetizers, we picked the calamari, perfectly cooked. Got the saltado de pollo and it was great. Dinner for two with appetizers and drinks, ran about $80 with tax and tip. Service was great, staff was friendly and attentive. Glad we went back.

The four of us came here for an early dinner, craving Peruvian food. We love how Peruvian cuisine incorporates Asian-inspired flavors in the menu. At El Pollo Inka, we were happy to learn that any of the saltado entrées can be ordered in a healthier version with green beans instead of fries. I went with the vainita chicken saltado, while my husband ordered the regular shrimp saltado. Our friends chose the classic chicken and beef saltados, and we shared a ceviche mixto to start. We also enjoyed the complimentary soup that came with our meal. I can't handle spicy food, but everyone else loved the green sauce. Portions were generous and very satisfying. We always order chicha morada, the purple corn drink, and were happy to find out it comes with free refills here. Service was fast and friendly, and we'll definitely be back, especially since we're moving to the South Bay area soon.

I love El Polla Inka!! This restaurant is right by my house so it is not just convenient, but DELICIOUS! The food here is satisfying and the portions will definitely leave you full. We always get the Pollo Saltado, but have also gotten the Rotisserie Chicken and Shrimp Fried Rice before. Pollo Saltado - A must get here! The chicken is so tender and the sauce is delicious. It comes with tomato, onions, and fries. It tastes Asian inspired which I love. Just wish there was a little more chicken, but amazing flavors! Rotisserie Chicken - Tastes like what it is supposed to be. Nothing special, but it is delicious and reliable! The flavor of the skin is salty and umami. Shrimp Fried Rice - Wish there was more shrimp but I actually loved this dish! It was light and would be a good side to something heavier like Pollo Saltado. Again, this dish tastes Asian inspired, and I love it! Overall, definitely recommend this place! So delicious and reliable!

SPECIAL REQUEST UNLOCKED! I was having a party, and really wanted to have Pollo Inka food, with soup, but we could not eat rice, so I asked if they could possibly make the soup without rice. THEY DID, and it was FANTASTIC!! everyone thought I was brilliant and a fabulous cook, but I did spill the beans and told them where I got it. I am particularly grateful to Issam for getting the order perfectly correct and delivering right on time. Thank you thank you thank you! Sorry no photos, because we ate it all up!

My husband and I decided to have Peruvian food for a late dinner. We had received a recommendation to try El Pollo Inka. Upon entering, we quickly seated ourselves. The restaurant had an open floor plan. Straight ahead, you could see the chicken roasting on a spit. A few tables were occupied. Our waiter quickly came over with menus. I chose the 1/2 Pollo a la Brasa. My husband chose the beef Chaufa. For drinks, we had Chicha Morada (house made). The waiter came back rather quickly with the drinks and then, with a bowl of soup! Totally unexpected! The soup was delicious, with chunks of chicken and flavorful vegetables. WOW! Our entrees arrived and looked wonderful. My husband loved his dish. Had a taste and it was real good. My chicken had a nice crispy skin with tender chicken, but I felt like it was missing a bit of flavor. And the Chicha was very good too but would have liked a bit more cinnamon. I am being picky, but you should definitely try it! But overall, everything was delicious. We would definitely return and recommend to everyone. Bring your appetite because portions are generous. Our waiter was wonderful. Issam was attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. Was quick to provide disposable utensils for our considerable leftovers. Oh, if you just want to pick up, they do that too. While we were there, a lot of orders were picked up

The Baseline: For a Peruvian restaurant, the four traditional staples (corn, potatoes, beans, grains/rice) must be represented along with the three traditional meats (chicken, beef, pork), the preparation must accentuate the flavors, and must represent the Peruvian cuisine. Food: I come here for loom Saltado and that is usually the only thing I want. It is a very good at El Polo Inca (I am not coming here for the chicken which is also good). The plantains are always an awesome. We also had the Chaufa de Pollo was the tasty chicken application. Service: Had a great waitress and service the night we came in. Water glass was filled up. Atmosphere: It is a nice franchise in a nice area but it is small compared to the main Torrance location. There are some wall scuffs around the booth.

Mike took really good care of us. He's very accommodating and will help you choose the best options from the menu. The food was good, especially the lomo saltado. I ordered the arroz con pollo -- the rice wasn't my favorite, but the chicken had really good flavor and wasn't too salty.

been going here for years! it's my family's favorite. this one is located next to a trader joe's so parking can get filled. inside the restaurant, it has a good amount of seating and you can see the rotisserie chicken cooking. staff was welcoming and nice and made sure we were taken care of. the lomo saltado with steak was delicious. the meat was tender and full of flavor. i love the soup that comes with the meal. their green sauce is to die for!!! it can be a little spicy but that's what makes it so good! chicken chaufa was very good and the rotisserie was also flavorful.

We have been to EPI many times, however, it was the first time at this location. They'd lit is on a shared strip mall. The spaces are tiny and the lot is very bad. The restaurant space is also much smaller than other locations, but is newer and had a nice interior. It seems like EPI changed their menu since last time we tried them. The still have our LS favorites like the chicken fried rice, chicken over fries, etc., but they also have new items or at least new to us. We got the chicken fried rice and the chicken with cheesy spicy pasta. The fried rice was prepared better than other locations at which quality has dropped. The pasta tasted like spicy Mac b cheese and was very good. The service was also better at this location as many servers at other locations are obviously prejudiced and treat customers like them better and customers unlike them worse. The bathrooms are gender specific and in the back. We would definitely go to this location again despite awful parking lot.

This is probably going to be our new Inka place. The servers were nice. Food was good. Jalea was plenty more than enough to share with 3-4ppl probably. We also order the chauffa de mariscos and lomo saltado which was also good.

This restaurant was okay, the service was friendly and quick and the place was clean. The food however wasn't anything special, I have had much better Lomo Saltado elsewhere. The meat was fantastic and tender , the dish was not seasoned well, I think it was missing the cumin , they also didnt have a lot of onions and the whole dish was way too oily , I wouldn't come back here , soup was good , salad was not good and oddly seasoned. I came for the lomo saltado and was disappointed, they also didn't offer may sub options for rice and the dish size was small for $20 , what a shame

I come here during the week for the happy hour pollo Saltado. Always comes out so fast and the soup never misses! The two servers I've interacted with are very attentive and take care of you. I like the masks on the walls and the music being played in between bites!

Had I misdosed my gummy from earlier that morning? Is this real life? I carefully crept towards the vehicle. Big red text read "The Chicken Shack... Best Chicken Around!" I ashed the cigar on the pavement and chugged the remaining 6 oz of black coffee. In a world full of minimalist "look how chic, clean, and trendy we are" branding, I crave a loud, boysterous, and unapologetic identity. Where is the heart? Where did the soul of the world go? A few days later, I made my way to the Chicken Shack out of pure respect for this maximalist motor vehicle. The interior is a bit tired, but I've found that these places are where the best bird is served. I ran the half chicken and 2 sides ($18.20), and took it to eat on top of my car. Hermosa Beach is one of the last places I expected to get some good bird, but life is full of surprises. There was flavor in every bite, not just with bites with the skin. I suspect a quality marinade. The skin was also tight and well seasoned, and their green sauce took it nuclear. I can confidently say this is the best chicken I've had in the South Bay so far. I'm always a sucker for some maximalist branding and some good rotisserie chicken. THANK YOU CHICKEN SHACK! IG @johnny.novo Tiktok @jnov__ Substack @johnnynovo

Paying that much for food in this condition is completely unacceptable. The restaurant itself was also dirty, which immediately raised concerns about cleanliness. The chicken smelled spoiled and, to make matters worse, it still had a piece of ice in the middle, showing that it had not been properly thawed or cooked. The pork fried rice had a strong refrigerator odor, as if it had been stored for far too long. On top of that, everything was completely bland and lacked flavor. We decided not to eat the food because we were genuinely concerned about getting sick. Even so, we paid the full bill because we understand how difficult it is to run a business and did not want to create a scene. Unfortunately, even from the small amount I tasted, I ended up feeling sick to my stomach and started vomiting, which ruined the rest of my day. No one should have to worry about getting sick after eating at a restaurant. Serving food in this condition is unacceptable. This is not just about taste it is a serious food safety issue that could make someone ill. Unfortunately, this was a terrible experience, and I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone. I sincerely hope they improve their cleanliness, food quality, and food safety standards so that other customers do not have the same experience.
