I had a $45 Uber credit from doing a bit of overtime at work, so I figured I might as well bring home some takeout. We got the chicken with fries, chaufa fried rice, soup, and the green sauce. The chicken with fries was a really good value for the amount of food you get. The portion was generous, and it felt like you were getting a lot for the price. The chicken had nice flavor, and the fries were a hit with the kids, which is always a win. The green sauce was good with everything, but at least for me, it worked perfectly with the chaufa fried rice. It added that tangy and spicy contrast to the rice and chicken, which made the chaufa even better. The chaufa was my favorite. It was weirdly addicting! The portion is big enough for 2-3 people, but it is the kind of thing where you keep going back for more. Honestly, the chaufa by itself could be a full dinner. Pickup was easy, and the food was ready without any problems. Overall, a good takeout dinner and I would definitely order again. If I end up doing more overtime at work, El Pollo Inka will be first on my list for a comforting day-ending treat.

EL POLLO INKA - El Segundo Highly recommended! From the moment you walk in, the friendly service and lively Peruvian music set the perfect vibe. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and conveniently located near the corner of Sepulveda and PCH in El Segundo. The complimentary soup, filled with vegetables and tiny pasta, is a tasty way to start the meal. The Pollo a la Brasa ( 1/2 Chicken) was cooked to perfection--juicy, flavorful, and served with a (mid) side salad. Don't miss the delicious green ají sauce, which has a little kick and perhaps a hint of mayonnaise. Your choice of garlic rice, French fries, or beans comes with the meal. My recommendation: order the garlic rice and generously top it with the green sauce. Yum! The Papa Rellena was another standout--crispy on the outside and packed with seasoned beef and Peruvian olives on the inside. It comes with a cilantro-marinated red onion salad and an extra serving of that addictive green sauce on the side. For dessert, we shared five delicious homemade mini alfajores--the perfect sweet ending to a fantastic meal. We'll definitely be back!

For years, El Pollo Inka has been a hit. And this location is no exception. Delicious entrees that are consistent with the other locations. I can't get enough of the Lomo Saltado! I'm getting hungry just thinking about it. Meals come with a very tasty soup. And don't forget about the Inka cola and green sauce to complete your meal. Friendly and quick staff. Ample seating for small or large parties. Clean restrooms. And plenty of parking.

I ordered a whole chicken and this was given to me. The app also said it would come with a side and that was not given to me as well. Check your food before you leave!

It was my first time here. We'd gone never door for a massage and when we were done we were hungry so we thought we'd check it out . When we entered were immediately greeted by the staff. A young lady seated us wherever we chose to sit and took our drink order. She was very friendly and patiently answered all of our questions about the menu. The food was very good (not great) my rice was cold, which was weird because everything else on the plate was very hot. The house salad was very large and was only iceberg lettuce. I ordered a seafood plate, it was seasoned well and if I were to ever go back I'd probably try something different . The menu was extensive, so I'd love to try something different. I want to give them a 4 but due to the quick, patient and friendly service from our server I will give them a 5.

I came here for lunch with my friend and got Lomo Saltado. Great spot for lunch as the service is quick. The lomo saltado was yummy and the green sauce it comes with is delicious!! Great flavor and textures overall :) Als, portion is large!

Delicious and great value! We ordered the yuca, lomo saltado, ceviche pescado and 2 glasses of wine was about $66. To start they give you a comforting chicken and rice soup and when you add the Aji sauce- yum! All the dishes were amazing and tasty as well as the salsas. While I like spicy, the red for me got some kick. The green salsa had the perfect spice for me. My favorite was eating every piece of the lomo saltado (beef, rice, red onion, tomato) with both the salsa verde and Aji sauce all in one bite- flavors are phenomenal! Servers were nice and happy. We'll definitely be back

Returned for a sit down experience and it was nice from start to finish. All the staff were friendly and accommodating to us. I especially loved how they didn't make us feel like we needed to leave right away. We ordered: Pollo Saltado, Plantains, Camarón al Ajo, Aguadito Soup, Maracuya Juice and Raspberry Tea. Everything was delicious and very filling - even had food to take home!! Happy we came for dine-in and will definitely return again!

Inka is always a great choice for lunch or dinner. Their dishes are flavorful and filling as they offer great portion sizes and the food doesn't feel too heavy after you eat. The lomo saltado is always a must order and comes with steak, tomatoes, onions, and fries. It comes with a delicious and spicy green sauce that goes well with everything. If you dine in during lunch you also receive a cup of chicken soup with every entree ordered. Service is fast and friendly and they always make sure you're stocked on green sauce and water. Ambiance is great and have plenty of seating inside. A few other must orders is their piccantes and their fried rices.

So happy Inka came to West LA! First time at this location and these dishes did not disappoint. My go to is the Picante and Chaufa. The creamy and slightly spicy picante has such a unique taste that's hard to get anywhere else. The Chaufa is also my favorite! With the green sauce, the blend is so good. Each entree also comes with their delicious signature green soup. This location allows for dine in and to go orders. The servers come to the table for dine in options or you can order at the counter for to go. It's a casual and homey restaurant with delicious food! Definitely recommend to anyone who hasn't tried it!

Saltado de Pollo and Saltado de Mariscos and Plátano and complementary chicken soup

The food and service were both amazing! The food tasted fresh and delicious, and the service from the staff was kind and fast. I definitely recommend! The interior is also cutely decorated.

(Plantains) Pltano. I asked for hard fried and they delivered!!

We started with the ceviche in Clamato with pieces of crab and avocado served with a delicious tortilla chips. I absolutely loved the flavor profile and couldn't get enough of the Clamato sauce. Then we moved to the weekend only special sea urchin, which Stephanie's parents personally bring down from Santa Barbara for weekend service. I'm usually indifferent at best to sea urchin, but this was excellent Then we shared the Jonah Crab Fusilli, another winner. I was driving, but hubby ordered a banhattan and it was another winner. They also have some beer and wine options as well as a full bar. Though very full by this point, just couldn't resist the pretzel bread pudding. The bread portion was crispy on the outside and warm and soft on the inside with a delicious salty caramel sauce. Served with a very smooth and delectable scoop of ice cream. There's indoor and outdoor seating. If you want to sit inside best to make a reservation. We did not have reservations, but were lucky to get outside seating. Service was fluid with different people coming around to ensure everything was tidy. Really enjoyed one of the staff, a young girl who cleared our table and delivered some of the dishes. Loved her chill surferish vibes.

My first time trying Peruvian food and wow!!…read more The Lomo Saltado was so tender and flavorful. The fried fish tacos were perfectly battered and fried, I liked the onions on top as it helps cut through the friedness of it all. Yucca fries were delish, dip it in the green sauce and it's perfection. The ceviche was fresh and bright. Love the citrusy sauce at the bottom, yum! The corn is not like the regular corn we have at the grocery store. It has a bit more bite to it in terms of texture like it's not soft. Passion fruit juice was absolutely needed after all day on the beach. The cake has swirls of dulce de leche, very tasty. I would come back just for the lomo saltado alone! Service was friendly and fast. They have a few tables inside and a few outside. Right on the Venice boardwalk so if you dine outside, you also get a show with your meal.

The location turned out to be El Huarique Peruvian Kitchen! What a delicious find that turns up the flavor and definitely the heat! Be careful what you ask for! Haha! Fish Ceviche | Yes, please! Now, at first bite, for some odd reason, I thought the dish was going to be hot, but it was cold and absolutely delicious! Taking our server Mauricio's advice, I tried each item separately on my plate and then mixed it up... Yummy! New flavors had my taste buds doing a happy dance over and over again! Haha! I would absolutely 100% get this dish again! The flavors were electric once combined! Turn up the Heat | Our server Mauricio asked my spice level and I confidently said spicy! He asked if I was sure and I told him the story about me being in India, requesting a spicier version of a dish & the Chef coming out to take a look at me, because he couldn't believe I wanted spicier! Haha! Comedy Hour | I was enjoying every flavorful bite of the Fish Ceviche, when all of a sudden my body started to heat up! I was like, I can handle a bit of spice... And then suddenly my tongue got really warm and I could hardly feel it... Then my eyes started to water... And suddenly I lost focus in the conversation I was having with my friend & the traveler! I could hardly talk, because it was honestly that spicy! Haha! I bet it was also the sneaky little red onions, in addition to the other spices! Help, Please | I spotted Mauricio and asked him if he had any bread or yogurt, because my mouth was on fire! He didn't! He recommended water, which I had already tried! My friend, she recommended plantains, which I had also tried! The traveler ended up recommending the lettuce on my plate, which ended up helping for sure! After a while, my mouth started to cool down, thank goodness! Eye Spot Spice | Just when my mouth started to cool down, my friend accidentally touched her eye, which must have had spice on it! The girl at the next table, dining with her significant other, immediately came to her rescue! I asked our server Mauricio for a cup of water so she could flush out her eye! The girl at the next table told her to rub her eye with her hair... Which oddly helped! Plantains | I can always appreciate plantains, as I love them! They arrived at our table and quite plentiful! I appreciated that the flavor was just the right amount of sweet and savory... Perfect! As conversation flowed easily between me, my friend, and the traveler! I invited him to enjoy the plantains with us, which he did! Fried Rice | My friend, ordered this dish and invited me to share it with her! OMG! I highly recommend, so flavorful and definitely shareable! I happily enjoyed every bite that I put onto my plate! Customer Service | Mauricio was top-tier! He was patient, kind and so much fun to explore the menu with! He really wanted us to have the Peruvian experience, considering it was both me and my friends first time having Peruvian food... as far as I know! Seating | Both inside and outside! We sat on the outside patio! Happy Meeting | While waiting for my friend to arrive at the restaurant, a friendly worldwide traveler, who was currently in town, helped me with the menu! Though his meal included chicken, a dish he frequently orders when he's in town, he invited me to explore the veggie part of the menu and mentioned that the food was really good here! Something made me trust his recommendation and I'm glad I did! We had fun chatting with the friendly traveler! Overall | Oh my goodness! Hahaha! Between the flavorful Fish Ceviche that was too hot to handle, sweet and savory Plantains, the customer service via Mauricio, an extension of me and my friends spa day, & other friendly customers, made for a memorable evening! I'm excited to do it again, definitely turning down the spice level and exploring more of the menu! Thanks again, Mauricio & the friendly traveler! We shall all meet again! Let's go!!

Had I misdosed my gummy from earlier that morning? Is this real life? I carefully crept towards the vehicle. Big red text read "The Chicken Shack... Best Chicken Around!" I ashed the cigar on the pavement and chugged the remaining 6 oz of black coffee. In a world full of minimalist "look how chic, clean, and trendy we are" branding, I crave a loud, boysterous, and unapologetic identity. Where is the heart? Where did the soul of the world go? A few days later, I made my way to the Chicken Shack out of pure respect for this maximalist motor vehicle. The interior is a bit tired, but I've found that these places are where the best bird is served. I ran the half chicken and 2 sides ($18.20), and took it to eat on top of my car. Hermosa Beach is one of the last places I expected to get some good bird, but life is full of surprises. There was flavor in every bite, not just with bites with the skin. I suspect a quality marinade. The skin was also tight and well seasoned, and their green sauce took it nuclear. I can confidently say this is the best chicken I've had in the South Bay so far. Paying that much for food in this condition is completely unacceptable. The restaurant itself was also dirty, which immediately raised concerns about cleanliness. The pork fried rice had a strong refrigerator odor, as if it had been stored for far too long. On top of that, everything was completely bland and lacked flavor. We decided not to eat the food because we were genuinely concerned about getting sick. No one should have to worry about getting sick after eating at a restaurant. Serving food in this condition is unacceptable.
