Boy, when my taste buds are in the mood, they don't stop gnawing at me until they get what they want! (There were screams of Thai food, so Thai food it is!) So I did my search, and thanks to Yelp, I found a new place to try. I've had this place bookmarked for awhile now, and figured, "It's time." The plan was to get something off the lunch special menu and fried soft shell crabs, but when I saw the basil crispy pork on the menu, I had to call an audible! So put both orders in and waited patiently. It gave me the chance to take a look around and it's a nicely decorated and well kept place. As I waited, people kept flocking for dine-in runs. It's safe to say they are popular. It didn't take long - which is pretty impressive for made to order grub - before my order was ready. Then again, it wasn't busy yet when I came through. Food was still hot when upon my return to work a few miles down. FRIED SOFT SHELL CRAB: The order is pretty generous: it comes with two whole pieces each cut in half, so plenty to share with someone else. Took a piece, took a bite and it was mostly batter. It's seasoned alright, but the thickness of it took away the crab's main essence. However, when I got to the crab, nothing but YUM. If they lessen the batter, it might just be better eats... BASIL CRISPY PORK: Now this was packed with tons of flavor! There was nothing wrong with this dish. Salt level was perfect, pork was still crispy despite it sitting on the sauce and an only a hint of heat (I requested to make it mild spicy.) The bell peppers added taste as well as texture. This was nicely done. FOOD: 4. Crabs were slightly disappointing but that pork dish was a saving grace. SERVICE: 4. Friendly staff and food came out quicker than I expected. VALUE: 4. We've ordered takeout from here a handful of times for lunch at work. I''ve tried the pad see ew, pad thai, and the Angel Wings. The Angel Wings are my favorite. They're stuffed and deep-fried, and the filling is really flavorful. The dipping sauce that comes with it is savory. Every time we order from here, that's the one dish I actually look forward to. I tried the pad thai once and I did not like it. It came out dry and didn't have enough sauce. It tasted a bit bland overall. Maybe it was just an off day, but I haven't ordered it again since. The pad see ew is better in my opinion. It's not the best I've ever had, but it's still good and satisfying. The portions are also really generous. The pad thai and pad see ew both come in huge servings and can easily feed two people. Prices are reasonable and a bit cheaper than other similar Thai restaurants. read more

My friend took me here before the amazing twice concert at the Kia Forum. We were supposed to go to Thai Lai for Vietnamese food, but we got there five minutes too late and they already closed up. But we got here instead. The Bangkok sampler was really good. It came with wontons and crab rangoons that were both delightfully delicious. The tempura was good too but I've never had a place that made tempura taste better than other places. My friend got the boat soup and he enjoyed it a lot. It wasn't spicy like a typical boat soup, but the flavor profile was really similar. I got the Thai basil and it was good too but I asked for them to not make it spicy. Good was amazingly delicious, fresh seasoned perfect fast out the kitchen piping hot! We first ordered the appetizer sampler, plentiful and well plated, my favorite! All plates served with a thinly sliced salad with a perfect dressing, not overpowering and a bowl of rice. Servings were generous, enough for sharing. Ample seats, comfortable and clean. We flew in to LAX to see a concert the following evening and were feeling the urge to have Thai food. After looking around, decide upon Bangkok Grill and took an Uber over. The service was great, but the only confusing thing for me was deciphering the American names for all the dishes when I'm used to the Thai names utilized in restaurants many of the other places I travel and live. No biggie! I was able to educate the server what each dish meant and how it was said in Thai. The place was clean and peaceful; the food was wonderful! I couldn't eat the whole thing so are the other half for lunch the following day. Bangkok Grill is a solid spot for some Thai food. The service is decent, the ambiance isn't bad, and the food satisfies the craving for Thai food. They have a large selection of options, so the menu might be overwhelming to some, I recommend checking it out beforehand. Reasonably priced dishes and good serving sizes too (all the main dishes came with a side of rice). I want to come back and try a few of the other dishes, below is everything I tried this time: 5/5 - Pad Thai: wonderful pad Thai exactly what I expected, probably the safest option to order if you don't know what to get. 4/5 - Red Curry: not as thick of a curry as I had expected, but still pretty good. 3.5/5 - Spicy Pineapple: a very unique dish that seems like a stir fry of sorts with giant pineapple chunks. There is a parking lot with lots of spaces infront of the restaurant. This is for a weekday 2:30pm lunch review. I had the lunch special and I asked for Thai ice tea no milk. Our waitress gave us Thai ice tea with milk. After returning it, she gave is regular American black tea that is unsweetened. Our waitress lacks Thai food knowledge. Minus 1 star. For my chicken dish, I asked if it was dark meat or white meat and Our waitress doesn't know. Minus 1 star. We also asked for ice water but our waitress forgot to bring them until we ask for it 2 or 3 times. Minus 1 star. My chicken dish required a knife and I was not given a knife. I had to eat my chicken with my hands. For $17.95 lunch special, you need to train your staff. Minus 1 star. We did not get our water or tea refill. :( :( :( The dining area is very nice and cozy. Wanted fried rice and looked up places that will give you a good portion, and came upon this gem. Tried the crab fried rice and it was delicious!! I love this place. I have literally been eating here since they opened. The customer service is awesome. The owner is a jewel. She always ensures the customers are enjoying the food and enjoying the ambiance. Typically when I go, Kevin helps me. His customer service is impeccable, as well as the other servers who work there. The food is delicious as well. I typically get thai basil shrimp from the lunch menu. Off of the regular menu, I get the Bangkok Secret Sauce, Spicy Catfish or the Seafood Noodle Soup. The lunch specials are served Monday thru Friday and is $13.95. It comes with fried wonton, salad, white rice and drink. For drinks; the choices are soda, lemonade, Thai tea, milk tea and boba. There is an extra $1 for fried rice or brown rice. I came here with my mom and we each got lunch specials. We got the Green Curry with Chicken and the Pad Thai with Chicken. We shared and so I was able to try a bit of both. Out of our two lunch entrees; the Green Curry was my favorite. The Green Curry definitely has a kick to it and is be prepared it can be a bit of the spicy side. I really enjoyed the curry broth. It was perfect over white rice. They also were fairly generous with the chicken meat inside the curry. The Pad Thai was also good. It was not as sweet flavored as I would have liked and they did not have any peanuts. It was a solid Pad Thai though. I do have to note that I was surprised they served the Pad Thai with rice. In other Thai places; they usually don't include rice with noodle lunch specials. Each lunch special came with fried wontons. I loved that the wontons were filled with chicken. These were nice little sides/appetizers. The other thing I really loved about their lunch specials is that it comes with drinks. We both got the Thai tea with boba. Boba was not extra charge. They gave a huge cup of Thai tea. It was so flavorful and refreshing. The drink that comes with lunch special definitely makes the lunch special worth it. Okay so first off, is a nice place and was greeted nicely on our way in. However, the food was horrible, we got the Thai Boat noodle and Tom Yum seafood and both of the broth were bland. Thai flavors were non-existent. Is supposed to be a little sweet and sour and spicy but i got none of that from the broth. Lunch special is now $13.95 and no longer includes soup, we were wondering if the waiter forgot about us as it took 5 minutes for the menus to arrive and another 10 before he came to take the order and then 10 more for the food to arrive. When the food was brought to the table we asked for soy sauce and chili, waited another 5 minutes that to arrive, just too much time wasted for what should have been a quick lunch. $13.95, + tax and even a small tip brings you in at $16.50, so many better options for the price, add in the slow service and it's off our list for lunches in the future. read more

" Green Curry with chicken"- the curry was very watery, it was not appetizing at all and no taste whatsoever so ever. " Beef Broccoli- Had more carrots and broccoli than beef. This is what my son order and his order came last, it took over 45 mins for him to get it and we asked twice about and the guy kept saying it's coming and nothing. Customer that had came after us were getting their food before him. At no point the guy apologized for the delay and when he brought it to the table, he just placed on the corner of the table knowing the plate was for my son. Also order two appetizers. *Avocado Rolls- Not all that.. the tomatoes inside throws off the taste. * Spicy Wings- They are not spicy at ALL! They are sweet! The curry here is really flavorful and has just the right amount of spice. Unfortunately, it's served with white rice, which is tough and chewy--not the best match for the curry. If you're not familiar with Thai food, it might not be a huge issue, but for those who are, it's hard to fully enjoy the dish. Thai cuisine typically avoids using white rice with curry. Most Thai restaurants serve jasmine rice, which is much softer, absorbs the sauce better, and doesn't feel like chewing on rubber bands. The white rice here kind of overpowers the curry, making the overall meal less enjoyable. The curry's great, but the rice choice definitely misses the mark. read more

We waited a while to get our order in (which I've been patient about before since the food is good), the appetizers came out first then our drinks, the drinks were made incorrectly, and the server slammed our waters on the table.
