My fortune :) a little on the hard side lol!
Lucia A.

First time dinning in . I had tried food to go in the past . We did the kung pao and combination fried rice . The kung Pao comes with white rice . Though we did dine the last hour before they close the waitress was still super sweet about us taking our time . I saw other reviews saying they didn't have a good experience but for us we thought they were nice . I'll keep an eye on my next visits and share /update .

Best salt and pepper tofu

This place is really good especially the servers they have good customer services. Food is really good I've been coming here more than 20 years

Takeout salt n pepper shrimp, Shanghai noodles and sautéed green beans in brown sauce and garlic.
Mary B.

Wow can't believe it's been 12+ years since I wrote this review! I haven't been here post pandemic and probably in over 7 years. What's new? - They've renovated thumbs up! Ambience is similar, spacious and bright. - The salt n pepper shrimp is now ON the menu yay! As is salt n pepper fish, and pork! Today just did the old faithful, salt n pepper shrimp. It was still good. Not overly salted, flavorful, with green onions garlic and red peppers sautéed together but the fried shrimp is still fried and good vs soggy. - sautéed green beans is good but a little too much sauce. They could cook them less so that they're a proper crunch with lighter garlic and brown sauce. Too soggy as is. - Shanghai noodles are good but not as flavorful as I recall so mixed hem with the green beans and that was better. - they still use minimal seasoning and sauces in general which I love and next to zero grease yay!!! - they are still super nice and service was fast! Ordered online thru their site and it was easy! - it was empty around 8pm on a Monday after the holidays so had the place to myself but decided to eat at home. - parking is the same Glad to see they made it thru the Covid storm. I'll definitely be back! Hard to find an American Chinese spot that isn't greasy in this side of town!

32. Kung Pao Chicken

The food here is pretty good. A little on the salty side and the quality of the beef in the lo mein could be better. The kung pow chicken I ordered was filled less than half way in the container.

The quality of the food is low. Customer service was great, they were fast and professional. But the food has no taste. The shrimp fried rice is literally the white rice with egg and no other condiments. The salt and pepper shrimp is too salty. The Wor won ton soup has no flavor. I had to add condiments at home to make it taste good. Lo mein has no flavor and the noodles stick together. The dumplings were microwaved dumplings. I'm sadden to say it was my first and def my last and sucks that the food was no good because the staff are cool and it's very clean inside.

They increase the prize and lessen the tofu w only 8 pieces and just put a lot of green onions this place is getting so expensive

The cook needs to be consistent of the food they are cooking. It's like different cook they have different style.

Enjoyed some good Chinese food for lunch. Greeted and seated. Ordered Kung pao chicken , salted pepper pork, egg flower and Hot and sour soup. Good portion were served, the food itself was delicious! No dissapointment. Good customer service and the establishment was clean. I recommend. Parking gets crowded.

50. Beef wtih Broccoli
Chrystal G.

This placed used to be amazing now it's mediocre. I ordered chicken an broccoli and received 7 tiny pieces of chicken and over 20 pieces of broccoli. I'm literally paying $15 for just broccoli same with the beef and broccoli and the shrimp fried rice out about four pieces of shrimp in it.

Fried rice with chicken, walnut shrimp (a must) and beef lo mien.. Bomb!!!!!

The food is great! Fresh. I always order the kung pao shrimp, fried rice, and chow mien. Portions can feed a family of four.

Staff was nice, but food was bad. Ordered pork chow mein, but smelt like fish. For the price, I expected better quality.

Chinese Kitchen - Orange chicken, fried rice, and noodles

Regardless, we definitely will be coming back. The service was friendly. The interior looked clean. Prices are fantastic! Purchased 2 combo B meals and an egg roll and it came out to just under $26.

I was in the mood for cheap Chinese no-nonsense food. I have a go-to for this (a few blocks from…read morehere, matter of fact) but I felt like trying a new place. Yelp had this place on its list of recos, but there was something about this place that drew me in... ... and it turns out, I have actually been here before. But it has been about 30+yrs since, waaaaayyy before my Yelp years! (SIDE STORY: My GodMom and grandparents used to live a couple of blocks away from here and we often ordered food here back in the day.) They are incredibly popular. All their tables were occupied (granted, there were only three or four) but patrons coming through were non-stop. Staff were efficient as well because given the line (there were three people ahead of me) they got us outta there pretty quickly. I went for half white rice, half noods, black pepper chicken and fried chicken/wings. (NOTE: they packaged the wings separately so it doesn't get soggy from the black pepper sauce - love this!) They were good at providing disposable utensils as well as sauce packets. It didn't take long before I was on my way back to work. Noods had nice flavorful chew. Rice was fluffy. Fried chicken/wings was crispy and savory with a slight hint of sweet. But the black pepper chicken was AM.A.ZING!!! There was so much flavor packed in every bite and couldn't get enough of it! There wasn't a lot of fillers either, so that's a plus. Highly recommending this! FOOD: 5. SERVICE: 4. VALUE: 5. They give you enough for a second meal. PARKING: Lots of space shared with others. Not an issue. OVERALL: 4.5. I couldn't stop thinking about the black pepper chicken that I just had to come back the next day to have it again. Paired it with orange chicken on that second run. Not as great, but it is one of their more popular items. (Most people ahead of me ordered it and the pan got refilled during both visits.) So it was a delight coming through here again as it brought back tons of memories. I even remember making many stops at the laundromat next door. Also drove by my auntie's old house. Ahhhh, good times! I shall return! If only for the delicious black pepper chicken!

Fu Sing - Pork Egg Rolls

First time here and loved it. Didn't even know about this place even after visiting a store next…read moredoor. I happened to see a post about it and thought... I know that area! lol. We decided to try it. It's a small just take out only place. Parking is always easy. On the menu, I saw chow fun and knew we had to try that. And also the lemon chicken. I don't usually see those in some Chinese restaurants so when it's there we try it. We also had the egg plant tofu. Everything was absolutely delish! Will definitely come back and try other menu items. People there were also very friendly.

Very happy to see things have returned to normal. It was getting ridiculous when they wouldn't pick…read moreup the phone and tell you to call back in 4 hours and still wouldn't answer the phone. It took me a while to even consider returning but I'm glad I did. The owner of Fu Sing is related to the people who owned Tin Sing in Gardena years ago and after they closed, the only place you' could find anything similar was Paul's Kitchen in Downtown L.A. or Monterey Park (also closed). The pakkai (sweet sour pork) and almond duck were the absolute best. Fu Sing isn't quite as good as Tin Sing but it's as close as we're ever going to get again so I'm happy the bugs in the system have been worked out and I can order without aggravation. Some other specialties that were popular with the Gardena crowd were the steamed pork and the pork egg rolls which are like taking a stroll along memory lane. Hopefully they'll consider expanding into a full service restaurant rather than remaining a take out shop to bring back the Gardena experience that so many of my friends, family, and yes, even enemies enjoyed growing up.

My wife was really looking forward to trying this place. We go to Eat Fantastic for their breakfast…read moreburritos and it had been a while since we had been. To our surprise, we found this "new" place, The Second Wind. The menu looked enticing and the lunch specials really looked like a great deal. So we decided we needed to come back for lunch and soon. A week later, we returned. Parking is very easy in the free lot for the complex. The interior design is energenic, vivrant with amazing looking Asian inspired pop art. Very cool interior. You can be seated and served or order to go. They have a combination lunch special, two items for $15.99. But, many of those items have an up charge if you add a protien. Either way, in these times, $16 for two items is reasonable. Our server greeted us quickly and let us choose the table of our liking. There are a handful of booths and open tables. My wife ordered the Beef Bulgogi and the Eggplant. I ordered the Chicken Dumplings and the Garlic Noodle (adding chicken for $2 more). The portions are generous. Light eaters might be able to just order one two dish combo and share. The Beef Bulgogi was good but the veggies looked a bit dehydrated. The Eggplant was just okay. The Chicken Dumplings were very tasty but served cool. I ordered them steamed and expected them to be warm at least. The Garlic Noodles with chicken was the biggest disappointment. To me, and my wife, over cooked with crunchy pieces. The chicken was also over cooked, dry and tough. When our server asked how things were, I mentioned it. He didn't seem surprised. I asked if the noodles were always dry and he said yes. He offered to bring more sauce, which he did. I added it but it didn't make the chicken any better. In the end, I left 90% of it. They only have cans of sodas so no refills but they are attached to a tea house that serves a great selection of teas, bobo, etc. There was some good things but more not, overall, we were disappointed. Honestly, I was a bit surprised they didn't offer to replace my dish or offer a small discount. They could see the pile of food I left. Anyway... Hopefully your experience and food preparation will be better than ours and...enjoy!!!
