Ordered chow fun with gravy. Had requested to sub out the beef for fish. Owner made it work, however the chow fun didn't have gravy. Total cost around 18$ Presentation - color is darker than usual compared to other patrons uploads. Usually chow fun shouldn't run over 16 Portions - it is enough for 2 servings Taste - definitely needed soy sauce and chili oil. Very happy to see things have returned to normal. It was getting ridiculous when they wouldn't pick up the phone and tell you to call back in 4 hours and still wouldn't answer the phone. It took me a while to even consider returning but I'm glad I did. The owner of Fu Sing is related to the people who owned Tin Sing in Gardena years ago and after they closed, the only place you' could find anything similar was Paul's Kitchen in Downtown L.A. or Monterey Park (also closed). The pakkai (sweet sour pork) and almond duck were the absolute best. Fu Sing isn't quite as good as Tin Sing but it's as close as we're ever going to get again so I'm happy the bugs in the system have been worked out and I can order without aggravation. Some other specialties that were popular with the Gardena crowd were the steamed pork and the pork egg rolls which are like taking a stroll along memory lane. Hopefully they'll consider expanding into a full service restaurant rather than remaining a take out shop to bring back the Gardena experience that so many of my friends, family, and yes, even enemies enjoyed growing up. read more

This spot use to be my # one go to place. I have given it at least three more tries after becoming aware that the batter on the fish had was thick and taste like doe. It use to be thin very good and palatable. The fried rice does not have the same authentic taste. However the service was great. The Gentleman even thank me for coming. I haven't had Fu Sing in years because I live in San Diego and if I happen to be in the area, they happen to be closed for a holiday or vacation. Well, I called yesterday and they were open. I placed my order. Paper wrapped chicken, pork egg roll, sweet and sour pork, chow mein, and char siu. All old Tin Sing favorites. I was quoted 20 minutes and probably only waited 30. I was so excited! When we got home, I started with my favorite, paper wrapped chicken. Unfortunately, it had no flavor and was extremely dry. I was so disappointed. The chow mein also had no flavor. The sweet and sour pork was ok, as far as flavor but the pork was tough. The char siu and the pork egg rolls were good. If you search the reviews for "Tin Sing", you will learn Fu Sing is a relative of an old Chinese Restaurant in Gardena that a lot of people were sad to see close in 2004. The Egg Rolls are excellent. Better than I remembered at Tin Sing. The Chow Mein and the Sweet Sour Pork (Pakkai) were good, but they both didn't match the Tin Sing legacy. The Sweet Sour Pork was very unique at Tin Sing and today I have not been able to find a place that replicates Tin Sing. I talked to a Daughter at a farmers market, and she said they used a press to cook the pork for Sweet Sour to give the pork a leaner chewier texture. That process isn't cost effective in today's market. Today, places use puffy batter to make the meat look bigger. If you watch Seinfeld, then you gotta ask yourself, how hasn't this place made its way on the show?! In the past 5 years I've only ate here 3 times because they never answer their phone! I'm generally greeted with a recording that says "we're busy call back later" or sometimes we'll get a similar recording with "we're busy call back later, at [Time o'clock]". This isn't a joke. Fact: the place is ALWAYS EMPTY. Give it a shot! Calling this place is always a joy, it's like playing Russian roulette, wondering if I should order here. Odds are they won't answer, but if they do then let's give it a shot! There's no consistency in the food. First time it was solid, the fried rice and chow mein were solid and the beef broccoli was good to go! Second time, the food was....bland...flavorless but maybe nourishing? I'd had better at Panda Express if I'm being honest. Third time, in 2025, fried rice was bland, I had to doctor it up and refry myself and add some flavors and then it was solid. It's the slightest bit inconvenient when I need to refry fried rice and add flavor from a place that I expect to cook authentic Chinese food. Noodles I had weren't as great as the frozen ones I get from Sam's club or Costco. Let's be real, I only order here when they answer their phone and the recordings are hilarious. Give it a shot, try it, it's an experience. Will they answer? Post your experience! Sometimes, you'll get a message like "cook no feel good, we are closed". I've called back multiple times with recordings that have specific times like "call back at 7:45" and then you called back and you'll get "we busy call back later" or "we are closed" when yelp and Google show that they're supposed to be open. I wish this was a joke but it's been my experience. The fortune cookies are also...well sub par, lacking fortune cookie flavor and fortune? You'll know when you know. So always being on the hunt for an actual Cantonese, New York style eggroll, I searched on Yelp for "best eggrolls" and this place popped up. Turns out it's a multigenerational staple in the Gardena area and has been in business for many years throughout the same family. All we tried were the eggrolls this time and they were FANTASTIC, somehow they captured the essence of an actual New York style eggroll wrapper with an all meat filling. They had both pork and chicken verison, although they were both very good the pork won out as the stronger of the two. I've been wanting to try this for months and today was finally the day. I went as soon as they opened and ordered the pork egg rolls, chicken chow fun in black bean sauce,and cream cheese wontons. The man taking my order let me know that it'll take a while, but I was waiting for my daughter to get her hair done next door anyways. It was starting to get busy with people picking up and placing orders. My order was ready in about 45 minutes or so but it was worth the wait. I have been going to place for just under a decade. I went recently and ordered chicken fried rice and orange chicken. The orange chicken had that tuff chewy stringy thing going on. Seems like it was fried and put to the side until needed. Let just say, the taste is not the same. I believe they have either a new cook or under new management.
