This was a very interesting experience. We came in for dinner on a Saturday. We chose this place because it was on our way to evening plans we had, and it's on inkind, and I love inkind. So, we arrive and it's in an industrial area and parking lot is empty. There are tables outside, but no chairs. For a moment, we thought it was closed, but the sign says open. So we go in. It's completely empty. There is a counter with 2 screens to order, and 1 cash register. There is no one behind the counter. The sign says cashier is on break, order on tablet. We try, but we couldn't pay with inKind, so we rang the button for service. The person who came out spoke very little English and was there by herself. But we got through the order. The chicken tinga and chicken breast in the meal still have bones attached. 4. I paid extra to substitute chicken breast instead of chicken tinga but they put both in my order. This is my first time at a Wildbird but it def will not be my last. Quick take it is delicious with some unique menu items. We both ordered the 1/4 chicken which comes with 2 sides, salsa & tortillas. First off the grilled chicken is great, nicely cooked with spices that give it a unique (not hot) flavor. The sides are def next level, i had the Spanish Rice & Green Chicken Pozole. Ok this is the best pozole I've ever had in a restaurant! I would get a big bowl of it if I could :) My Son had the Mexican Street Corn & Brocolli, I had a taste of both and YUM!!! The street corn comes off the cob in a cup which def makes it easier to eat! As other reviewers mentioned, it can seem like no one is there but you can order from the self-serve kiosk and someone from the kitchen will bring it out for you. There's also a call button if you need it. We both ordered chicken plates. Mine was the boneless breast and I got white sauce and pico. My bf got chicken tinga. We both got rice as a side and you get a huge portion of it. I also got broccoli and it was seasoned just right. My boyfriend ended up liking the chicken I got better but the chicken tinga is very flavorful and tender. For the mains, I got to try their bone-in chicken and their chicken tinga, and for the sides, I had the sweet potatoes and kale slaw. We came here today after our kids softball game, knowing we are getting a Wildbird close to us soon we wanted to check it out. Food was top notch! We did the half chicken and split it between the 3 of us and 3 premium sides. We loved absolutely everything. There was only one girl behind the counter and she was taking the orders and prepping the food but she killed it. People kept coming in and she did a great job of handling it all. The green sauce was delicious and has a bit of heat! The white sauce is like a ranch. The chicken was perfectly marinated & juicy and the skin was perfectly crispy and tasty. We stripped that bird to the bones! I already know what I wanna try next time ha. The brussels sprouts had a little sweetness to them, but they were cooked to the perfect consistency. The elote mixed with the beans and tomatoes, and whatever else they put in there was excellent as well. Buffalo cauliflower yummy. Not incredibly fair to leave a bad review when we haven't even tasted the food. The experience was beyond odd.... Showed up on a Saturday night. Place was empty (literally speaking), no one inside, no one behind the counter, etc. Struggled with order screen for 10 mins. Still absolutely no one. After maybe 15 mins, someone came from the back. We tried to place our order with him, but literally got a blank stare like we just landed from Pluto. We gave it a good other 5 mins to make it work, but got nowhere and ended up leaving. I'm a fan of this concept. We've had takeout twice now and I think the chicken Tinga and boneless breast market plates are great. The great definitely benefits from one or multiple of the sauces being applied as it isn't the most flavorful but very juicy. I think the sides are standouts.
