My family is visiting LA for the BTS concert and staying at a hotel nearby. When the kids said they were hungry and wanted pancakes I searched local places to eat and we chose this place. I liked that we could order and then go sit down. The food was generous portions and tasted great! We ordered steak and eggs, pancake stacks, a veggie omelet w sausage, and pancakes w eggs, sausage and toast. The toast wasn't too toasted- just right. Price point is about $17-20 a plate. It's enough for two meals and we took leftovers back to our hotel room. Staff was nice and the restaurant was on the smaller size but clean. Would return for sure! read more

Stopped at Bread & Butter in late March during a visit to the area. Overall the food was pretty good. I got the pancake/egg platter, and it was prepared and tasted fresh. It was pretty expensive though, for a simple breakfast plate and very casual atmosphere. Minus one star for the price. Good place though with friendly staff. The tortilla was dry and not even wrapped well, the filling was bland, eggs overcooked, and the sausage and bacon had so much gross, hard fat that I couldn't even chew it. $15 for this is honestly nuts. Service is minimal, stemming from the small space and order at counter approach, making the restaurant feel quaint. I ordered the (Philly) Cheese Steak and it was underwhelming. The cheese melted excellently and the mushroom impart a wonderful savory taste but the impact of the flavors is lacking. The beef tastes nonexistent, the bread texture is off, and, this will only offend those who care, there are peppers in the sandwich. I've been to this restaurant before for lunch, but today I was in the area and decided to try their breakfast tacos. They were flavorful. I opted out of getting the ham and sausage and instead added avocado. I loved how the bacon was chopped up in the eggs with onions and hash browns. I really enjoyed these tacos. This is a no frills restaurant so you can grab quick to go or sit inside or outside. Their service is quick and there are always tables available. This place is in an outdoor shopping center so there is plenty of free and easy parking in the lot, and it's an endstone building so it is easy to spot when driving. You could easily order one of their breakfast burritos and split it with someone else or even save half and have breakfast for two days. I have not tried their giant looking cinnamon buns but they have a very eye catching photo on the menu. If you want a quick and casual breakfast this is the place to go. read more

Landed at 7:00am at LAX and was looking for breakfast. This place was open so I took the 5 minute drive there and had the special of the day. The naked burrito it was great the avocado was fresh and the pico was nice and fresh definitely will be coming back when I'm in the area. read more

I've been coming here for a while and this one honestly hurts to write. During the egg shortage, I completely understood the price increase on the classic breakfast burrito. Times were tough, and I was happy to support. But now that things have stabilized, the price is still sitting at $15 -- and the burrito has noticeably gotten smaller. It's hard to justify paying more for less. A lot of my friends have already stopped coming because of the price and portion changes, and I'm starting to feel the same way. The food still tastes good -- no complaints there -- but value matters. Loyalty matters. I really hope the owners reconsider the pricing or portion size because this used to be a go-to spot. read more

The weekday hours on Yelp state they close at 3:00PM. Apparently, that is not accurate. More on that in a bit. I wish I could write a good review. I used to love the pancakes here. But then the last time I tried them, they had this very processed or cheap quality taste where something in the batter or recipe went down in quality and had a more processed taste to it. But I figured the saving grace was that their breakfast burrito was still absolutely delicious. Now back to the closing time. I was in the area on a Tuesday and craving Bread & Butter's breakfast burrito. I strolled in at 2PM and looked at the menu above the counter to make sure they still served my favorite. I don't know the employee's name. But she was very young (looked about 19 or 20). All she had to say was, "Hi. We're closing. Sorry." I replied, "It reads online that you close at 3:00." She replies, "We close at 2:30 and we're closing down now." She didn't seem too concerned or interested in helping. This wasn't getting anywhere. And I didn't feel like asking an employee to do their job when, clearly, leaving for the day was more important to them instead of servicing customers. But even if you do close at 2:30, why do you stop offering food (even takeout would be a fine option) 30 minutes before closing? Sadly, Bread & Butter is not what it once was. Hope I can find a decent breakfast burrito somewhere else. But I would very much welcome an email from the owner (I believe it is still Joe who owns the restaurant) if he would like to address the aforementioned issues. read more

Going in here, I wasn't expecting too much, definitely didn't think this was a 4 star place. When you have zero expectations and you say to yourself, "Wow, this is really good", you know you got something!! We were in between places to eat in this area, and just decided on this place on a whim. After ordering, I went back in (they had outdoor seating) to get some water and I saw them steaming my vegetables, ding ding ding!!! My first sign that this was a good place. My salmon and vegetables were very good, and they gave you enough to be good and full!! Now, the parking lot here was super tight, but the food more than made up for that. Line wasn't long (this was at 8am) and plenty of parking. Cons: 1. The classic burrito was not good. It was VERY dry, even after adding the sauce. I don't understand because other people seem to rave about it, and the tacos are delicious, but this was one of the worst breakfast burritos I've had. 2. Based on the name, you would think this place specializes in pastries, but they have none. One of the menu panels lists fresh pastries but they said they don't have any of those. They do have croissants if you want the croissant breakfast sandwich, but I didn't try that one yet. read more

I was pleasantly surprised with this place, which you gotta love! I'm staying near the airport and just looked for food near the hotel and Bread & Butter came up. Ordered online, said it would be ready in 20 minutes, received a text that it was ready and when I walked up, it was packed and ready to go, no wait! Thanks to my fellow Yelpers, I went for the breakfast tacos and my friend got the French toast, both SO delicious! Everything is the breakfast tacos were cooked perfectly with great ratios (silly to say, I know) and it all went together so well! The hash browns were still crispy even when mixed in and smothered in cheese, perfection! I added avocado, felt like a must, and the salsa was a nice touch. The food here is good and thats why I've been back many times. The cooks do a good job. But the last few times I've been here, I've been upcharged without knowing it and I finally complained to the workers about it today when I noticed on the receipt that I was charged a dollar more than what was advertised. I thought I was paying $5 a taco but got charged $16 for 3. I went up to the people at the register and complained about this. They said they would tell the manager and left it at that, did not offer to refund my money. I said they could keep the dollar. Later, the girl who brought us our food claimed that the small words elsewhere on the menu that says "price is subject to change without notice" justify the upcharge. I didn't even see this disclaimer as it was far away from the prices for the tacos. Restaurants are not allowed to charge something different from the prices l posted just because they post a tiny disclaimer somewhere else. At the very least, the people working the cash register should make sure that customers know the real prices before they pay, and this was not the case today. In fact, I found it very unprofessional and rude for the girl who brought my food to insist that they can charge whatever they want just because of that tiny disclaimer. The girl even made it seem like it was my own fault because I didn't notice the extra dollar before I paid. When I pay, I assume that the restaurant is charging the price that they advertise, I am not going to be doing math in my head and notice an extra dollar. This is how consumers get cheated! I even asked her, do you do the math before you pay? This is called false advertising. Again, this has happened several times and the first time I let it slide, thinking that they would change their menu. I have to say, they did not handle it well. If I were them, I would have apologized and at the very least given a refund which they did not even offer, and offer a free taco or discount for next time to keep my business.
