Courtyard is a nicely located Cafe for people finding themselves in and around the LAX area during the early part of the day and wanting an affordable food fix. I believe the tiny cafe is an independent family-owned shop. Staff are friendly and helpful. You'll find quality tasty breakfast items and beverages here, with most stuff priced less -- or not much more -- than a $10-er. Burritos and quesadillas are especially popular. Orange juice is fresh squeezed, and their famous juice called the Vampiro, red from beets, is a delectable blend of some of my favourite fruits and vegetables. You can ask for it with a dash of spicy refreshing ginger blended in. It might be a little challenging to pinpoint locate, since Courtyard is not readily visible from Sepulveda. It's in the rear courtyard of a building. I think it's well worth seeking out for reasonably priced, satisfying breakfast fare near the airport 'hood. read more

After passing it many times following a visit to my crack dealer (The Westside's #1 Chiropractor, Dr. Joga) I decided to stop in after Dr. Joga's employees raved about the breakfast burritos. I opted for a custom-crafted carrot-apple-celery-orange-beet-lemon-ginger juice. Fresh, buzzy and delicious. Tucked away in an average looking office building just blocks away from LAX is this gem of an eatery! This is as "mom & pop" as you can get when it comes to good food, served plentiful and hot off the grill. Park in the lot for the Ralphs and CVS off Sepulveda, or street parking along Westchester Parkway just west of Sepulveda... you'll be looking for the office building with the mural of the Space Shuttle on it. That is where you'll find Courtyard Cafe. I started out with their American breakfast burrito, but have since settled with their Mexican breakfast burrito as my go-to, once-a-week splurge meal- freshly grilled chorizo scrambled with eggs, hash browns, salsa, and a bit of cheese. Pro tip: ask to add avocado and you won't be sorry! The key to this place is, if you tell them how you'd like your food they will do everything in their power to accommodate your request. If breakfast burritos aren't your 'thing', try their highly affordable and very filling bacon breakfast sandwich. They open at 7am, and is typical to find a short, quickly moving line of officers from LAX waiting for food as soon as they open their doors. There is distanced indoor dining as well as an outside table, and a community bench a bit down from their door if you're looking to enjoy the environment with your meal. Gave it a 3 star because the Yelp says they're open...but not! We just got here (off the redeye) from Hawaii and was anxiously awaiting to enjoy the American burrito! Drooling and stomaches growling...and the doors are closed, lights out, deserted, and no postings on door why they're closed! And we weren't the only ones wondering why it's not open. This is my favorite type of establishment. Family run, simple interior, clean, great food, good prices, and just enough variety. A no fuss type of place that's been established pre instagrammable trendy food. Got a vampiro juice and a breakfast burrito with bacon and my has browns extra crispy. The burrito was super filling and unlike many places the tortilla didn't get soggy and was still perfectly chewy on either end. The burrito was also stuff full of goodness: eggs, cheese, hash brown, and bacon. Nice and simple. They give u a good AF salsa on the side and plenty of ketchup if ur into that Really affordable. Burrito and juice came out to 12 bucks, so pop a tip on to that for 15 that's still cheaper than most places for a big burrito AND a fresh squeezed juice which breaks the bank just about anywhere else. I walked into this place not knowing I was about to have the best breakfast burrito of my entire life. I just finished it, and I am devastated I don't have more. As a vegetarian I thought they would just give me cheese and egg, but they sautéed some spinach mushroom bell pepper etc, and it was EVERYTHING. Not greasy, freshly made, crunchy hash browns. Found this place just recently and wish I would've found it earlier. So far I've tried their bacon breakfast burritos and their bacon egg and cheese croissant sandwiches. Both are great, I get my breakfast burrito with easy egg and grilled onions added which they do for no extra charge! They have a green salsa they offer for free that's also pretty tasty. They're always super quick, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the prices are great. VAMPIRE JUICE + ginger!!! :D Since I fly into LAX quite frequently, I try to get their vampire juice (beet, carrot, celery, pineapple, and orange juice) and I always ask them to add in ginger! So good and tasty!!! :) Their service can be a bit slow, so I highly recommend calling in to place your order and then picking it up! There are a few tables and chairs if you wish to dine inside. I just recently discovered this small hidden cafe! If it's your first time here, it may be a bit difficult to find since the entrance isn't on Sepulveda, but from the inner courtyard of the building. Park by the Ralphs and walk in the alley (btwn the parking structure on your right & taller bldg on your left) and you'll see a small courtyard on the left side where the cafe is. A great hole-in-the-wall lunch spot near LAX! Situated in, wait for it, a courtyard near the Westchester Village (Just look for a Ralph's and park there), this place is definitely not somewhere you could just happen upon. It is easy to miss and seems to be secluded among the trees of the courtyard. However you don't want to miss this place! I got drawn in by the low prices and the daily specials. They have different specials everyday. I went on a Friday and they had a tuna sandwich + soup or tostadas de ceviche. Funny thing is that I thought I was ordering the tuna sandwich at the register, but the employee must have heard otherwise. He asked if I wanted normal or a large (normal was $5.50 and large was $7.50), so I ordered the large. Five minutes later, I was handed the ceviche. I wasn't about to go and complain, so I thought I might as well enjoy it. The large apparently comes with 3 tortillas while the normal only has 2. It also came with avocados and chili sauce. The ceviche was great, and tasted really refreshing on the hot summer day. I got up to get water, but the employee was really nice and told me he'd get it for me. I was pretty satiated by the end of the meal. I took my time eating and came out within 30 minutes. For the price and the nice secluded ambiance, I would have given this place 4.5 stars, but I was slightly annoyed that they got my order wrong. However, I would say if you are ever around LAX and want to grab a bite to eat, you should definitely hit up the courtyard cafe! read more

These types of hole in a wall places are where you get the best food (trust me). I was amazed at how delicious their breakfast was. I ordered the bacon egg and cheese sandwich, as well as the breakfast quesadilla. The quesadilla was huge and I could only eat half of it. The food was cooked to order, came out piping hot, and was delicious. They even had the USA soccer game on the TV to keep you entertained as you ate. The owner stood at the counter the entire time and was extremely attentive checking on all of us constantly as we ate. You can really feel that they appreciate your business here, and you're not just another customer. This is a must hit spot in the LAX area for a cooked to order breakfast. I planned to eat here again on that Sunday, but unfortunately they are closed on Sundays.
