They're in the same space, and it makes for such a great experience. This was my second time at Manuela, and it was even better than the first time. Our server was very attentive and through in explaining the menu and providing recommendations since it's our first time here. Beignet - excellent! Super fluffy, slight chewy (tasted like mochi flour?) and not too sweet. Must order. Shrimp & grits - well balanced and good sized portion. It has a little bit of heat but overall very tasty dish. Service: Mid. I was one of 4 or 5 parties, less than 15 people total in the restaurant before lunchtime and the service was slow. The tables and chairs feel and look as if they are set up to serve a greater aesthetic sense rather than comfort and within 10 minutes you can feel it in your back. Biscuits were good but served on an unsealed piece of wood I'm not sure how they are able to clean when used as a dish. Lastly, this is going to sound a little strange but hear me out, the seating area of the restaurant is mostly outside in a courtyard of sorts that is open to the sky and general surrounding facility. How can they keep animals away from the dining area when the restaurant is closed but the larger facility area is open. This location is mere blocks from skid row and I can't imagine it is able to overcome these challenges. I will not be going back. read more

Whatever the case - it's time to finally share my thoughts ... This most recent visit was during DineLA 2/2026. Dropped in on a weeknight and enjoyed it just like I have before. This was my third time. Parking was the same. Street parking or nearby garages. This time parked in the garage behind the brewery. $25. No validation. Other lots and street parking in the area too. Service was as expected. Excellent. Attentive. Friendly. Efficient. Clearing tables (was seated at a small table and space was an issue with all the plates) and refills. A genuine nice - not something feigned making you feel like the server is working the gratuity. Food was good - see pics. Went with the DineLA menu (Venison) and added a few menu items. And drinks. Enjoyed the ingredients and how everything blended together. It may not be for all, but the dishes that this team offers works for me. By the way, there's a bar - which I didn't know is open before dinner. Had a few cocktails before dinner until my table was ready. On another note, there's both indoor and outdoor seating. By far one of my favorite restaurants I've tried this year. Such a cute, chic, aesthetically pleasing spot. We came for dinner not expecting much, but I am now emotionally attached to those biscuits. They were AMAZING. The cocktail list had a great sense of humor, and the wine list was extremely long -- I couldn't decide. I went with the Spritz'er I Barely Know Her... she was cute, refreshing, and definitely a must-sip. Wow! I must go again cause we had a lovely dinner last night! I was looking for a place that was dog friendly and had some vegetarian options for my friend and this checked all the boxes. We didn't end up brining her little pup, but the ambience was so inviting, luxurious, and natural. Surrounded by greenery and well kept patio furniture, stylistic and industrial fixtures, it was a space you wanted to stay in. The food was superb as well. Biscuits and butter were a HIT and recommended by our server. The burrata salad, so fresh and tasty as a starter. And the artichoke and Lima bean dish was delicious, satisfying, while light. And one of our favorite parts, the SPRITZ HER I barely know her drink! The St Germaine spritz they make here is worth coming back ALONE! Tried Manuela in the Arts District for the first time for dinner, and wow--this might have been one of the best meals we've had in a long time. However, I would knock points off for their food. I tried several dishes and wasn't very impressed. The tiger prawn dish was spicy but a bit mild in flavor and not very memorable. It's been a while since we had visited this beautiful greenhouse like restaurant and bar. We are somewhat familiar with the bar cause we come in for a few martinis whenever we are in the area. They make great vesper and grey goose dirty martinis. We made a last minute reservation through Resy Amex global dining. The host guy was very nice to seat us as soon as he could! I am glad that this place is still so popular and thriving. As it should be, the brunch experience was nothing but perfection! The menus were big with extensive food and drinks. It's California cuisine but many items looked Spanish to me. For food we decided on albacore dip, shrimp aquachile, two orders of baked oysters, clams and side of potatoes. Also lemon cake and pear sorbet as desserts. Quite a few vesper and grey goose dirty martinis to go with our amazing tapas. And matcha latte oat milk and double espresso for food coma. The food was absolutely amazing and I liked the tapa portions. Our waitress was so friendly and attentive, in fact all workers were so fast and helpful. Manuela is absolutely gorgeous with its rustic decor filled with greenery everywhere. The space is outdoors, but covered so it feels like you're indoors. We came in winter and they had the heater on, which actually got too hot for us so we asked to turn it off. I love the farm to table vibes --but they really do have garden beds where your food is grown. We were a big group of 9, so we ordered a variety of appetizers to share. The Cream Biscuits ($14 for 3) are an absolutely must --wowow! Also loved the Cast Iron Cornbread ($17) and Louisiana Shrimp Aguachile ($23). They even made the salads taste amazing with both the Burrata ($24) and Chicories ($25) with the latter being the most impressive. For the mains, we all got our own plates and I ordered the Roasted Liberty Duck Breast ($56). I loved the presentation and how it was already sliced for you too. I also tried a bite of the Porkchop ($55) and Venison Burger ($30), but didn't think the burger was worth and needed an aioli or ketchup. Our group really splurged with desserts and drinks as well. I made a reservation online ahead of time, which I recommend doing, as this place is popular. The reason it's not 5 stars to me, is because I personally didn't care for either of the dishes I got (pictured: French toast and popover eggs Benedict). I've always heard so much about Manuelo and was absolutely enamored by my first visit! My friends and I went to grab brunch over the weekend, and first off, we were seated in an open space that was technically outside but still had a roof over us with lots of surrounding plants like a greenhouse, and you could see the sky very clearly - which was absolutely gorgeous with the clear and sunny weather. It was so hard to order because everything on the menu sounded so good! We started off with the biscuits and trout tartare; I feel like I've had a lot of biscuits in general so I didn't have high expectations, but I kept on eating the moment I tried them because they were so buttery and flaky and perfect with the apple. The tartare came with these savory garlic bread slices that were nice and crunchy in contrast to the biscuits. The trout itself has a slight salty/fishy essence but balances out well with the other dishes. We added the butterball potatoes, which personally I thought was just okay because it was a bit bland for my taste but my friends really liked them - they were just potatoes imo but they were cooked really well with a crisply cooked skin. We also got the green salsa chilaquiles, which was considerably well portioned for the four of us. It's very creamy but fresh with an herbal fragrance from the cilantro and mint, and there was a balance of crunchy and soft chips doused in the salsa. We wanted to order more, especially from the dessert menu, but we were already stuffed at that point...definitely coming back to explore more of their dishes like their cornbread and burger. Manuela feels like a beautiful oasis tucked away in the Arts District. The decor is beautiful and most of the seating is open-air. Our server told us that if we try one thing it has to be their Cream Biscuits, and she did not lie. The fluffy on the inside and crisp on the outside biscuits come out piping hot and melt in your mouth. They're served with a luxurious whipped butter and aged country ham. The combination of salty ham and sweet butter are what dreams are made of. Their menu features seasonal produce and they describe themselves as "modern heritage American with regenerative agriculture and sustainability at the forefront". I wanted something light for my main so I went with the Roasted Local Oyster Mushroom served in a charred leek aoli. You really can't go wrong with a mushroom/leek combo and it was delicious. I teeter between 4 and 5 stars. I will say that I enjoyed my lunch here. I brought my work team here for a holiday lunch and I really enjoyed it. However, my team seemed to be luke warm on it so that is the reason for my teetering. If it were me alone, I would say five stars. I loved the location and I loved the open and airy look of it. It is inside of a building (so don't think you've missed it) and you walk a few steps before you'll find it to the left. There's a lot of cool stuff surrounding the restaurant like a garden and chickens so take a look if you have time. For appetizers, we got the cornbread which I loved but others on my team thought it was missing the corn, lol. That's probably why I liked it because I'm not a huge fan of cornbread. Wow wow wow wow, dare I say best food and vibes in LA?? First off, the atmosphere is impeccable. It's that inside/outside warehouse loft vibe done perfectly, super cute, super trendy, and still cozy. My friend had the POG sour, which was delicious, fruity, and not overly sweet. My other friend had a mocktail she really enjoyed. Now the food... to die for. We started with the trout tartare, and honestly the crostini that came with it was unexpectedly amazing. Then the cornbread, which was so good I could easily eat four. We shared the poached eggs with green lentils, which were really good, the mushroom and polenta cake, which was rich and delicious, and the venison burger, which might be one of the best burgers I've ever had. However, it was hard to find it because it was inside an opening of another art exhibit storefront. The space is lovely, featuring lots of plants and a distinct, pleasant aroma. Unfortunately, although our waiter was friendly, we rarely saw him and our empty water jug went unnoticed for several minutes, which was odd because the restaurant was not that busy. Our food also came out late. Once were done with our apps, our entrees came out thirty minutes later. We wondered where our food was several times. For appetizers, we ordered the albacore dip and biscuits, which were the highlight of the entire meal. The biscuits were warm, flakey, and buttery. Our table ordered the half chicken, venison burger, duck breast, and scallops. My half chicken was a bit overcooked and dry and definitely needed more sauce. The duck breast and the other dishes were satisfactory but didn't stand out enough to justify the cost. The food quality and the slow service don't justify the price point. This restaurant is not worth the price. I had high expectations due to the ambience and high price point. Everything we ordered was fresh and definitely shareable so you can try all the flavors. The biscuits are a must have - flaky and buttery with additional butter and prosciutto yum. We came here for a late brunch on a Sunday, and I'm so glad we did. The venue is tucked away in a building, which makes it feel like a little hidden gem. The restaurant itself is super cute, and they even have a back area where they grow and take care of chickens and herbs, which is a cool and adds to their farm to table vibe. The food was absolutely delicious. The biscuits with apple butter were mouthwatering, and the jam paired perfectly with the warm biscuit. I'm usually not a ceviche fan, but theirs won me over it was so fresh and flavorful! I ordered the jerk steak. While I'm not the biggest fan of jerk seasoning, the flavor here was mild and enjoyable. Unfortunately, my plate arrived late and cold, so I didn't get to enjoy it as much as I'd hoped. The potatoes on the side were tasty. The biscuits are reason enough for me to come back. Went here with some co-workers. It came highly recommended. A little hard to find because it's down a little alley/walkway but once you see it the ambiance is super cool. There is outside seating lit up and then a darker intimate inside. The biscuits were fresh and worth a try. I also had the Louisiana shrimp aguachile and it was good but does have a kick. read more
