As for the food/drinks, the happy hour was such a great deal. We got to try the mushroom choriqueso (which was our favorite item), Al Pastor tacos, taquitos, shrimp ceviche and two Mercado margaritas. All of this for about $70! Everything tasted great and came out super quick too. Service was absolutely amazing. Everyone's always checking up on you, making sure you're doing okay and there was never a time we were waiting on anything too long. (Note: this was on a Saturday at 5pm happy hour during the Brazil game) Definitely would come back!

Unfortunately, each time I feel that the service isn't quite the same. Nothing huge but little things here and there. But I recently came for happy hour on a Saturday, sat at the bar by myself, and was not acknowledged for almost 15 minutes. What made it worse was there were gentlemen on either side of me who got another beverage and the check without me getting a menu. They even noticed and gave me their menus! And said they'll try to get the bartenders attention for me. *awkward* but also so nice of them. I eventually ordered - my beverages were delicious and the food was good. BUT there was a HAIR IN MY CEVICHE. Ughhh and that's when I decided I needed to re-review. Look, I obviously still love Mercado bc I'm keeping 4 Stars. Will I come back? Yes. But I will continue to be mindful of service and quality / cleanliness.

The restaurant has a great vibe and was a perfect setting for dinner and conversation. Michael, our server, was amazing. Super friendly, efficient and attentive without ever being intrusive, which I really appreciated since we were talking shop throughout dinner. The food was excellent. The guacamole was tasty, the chips were fresh, and the salsa was delicious. I had the cashew mole chicken enchiladas served over a bed of rice, and I loved them. In fact, I'd rank the dish as outstanding. What a wonderful first experience at Sausal. Great atmosphere, excellent food and terrific service. I can't wait to return with my wife. 5 stars!

My friends and I had been traveling all day (I had driven over 6 hours), and the last thing we…read morewanted to do when we arrived in LA was to search for a restaurant. We were staying near LAX and I didn't want to drive too far, so we stumbled upon this Mexican spot in the cutest little downtown area ever. El Segundo, you are THAT b*tch! We arrived around 5:30 on a Saturday and were seated immediately (thank goodness). Our server was super duper friendly and even had multiple conversations with us throughout the meal, sharing anecdotes and talking to my tattoo artist friend about getting a tat from her LOL. We quickly ordered some chips and queso (not free) and were blown away by how creamy and tasty the queso was. The tortas were also delicious and easy to scoop a lot of cheese on to. On to the menu, they had a good variety of Mexican dishes, but the price point, man. I thought $4-5 a taco at Barrio Queen in Arizona was steep, but this place charged $7-8 for a single small taco. I would've been okay with any menu item since it's Mexican and nothing under that cuisine could be bad, but seeing each enchilada over $30, made me steer clear of the main entree dishes. I also knew I wanted to try fish tacos, so I just opted for one fish taco and one grilled taco, with a side of mashed black beans. Crazy that some black beans also were at least $5. The fish taco was nicely battered and the guacamole was ripe and creamy, but the grilled chicken taco was nothing spectacular. There was also cauliflower tacos and beef brisket tacos ordered among us. My friend who ordered the beef brisket taco rated it 7.5/10, whereas the cauliflower tacos were rated 9/10. The food also took at least 20 minutes to arrive at the table. Both sauces my tacos came with were extremely spicy so I didn't even touch those. My friends enjoyed their meals, and the side of green rice two of them got was rather tasty. Overall, our server was the best part of the experience. She really ate DOWN, whereas our food and the price point did not.

You can eat there, get it to go or have delivery. The place is old, but well maintained and really cute. They make you feel at home there. The service is great. They are fast and your meal is served hot and perfect. It has the best Mexican food in Manhattan beach. Parking can be a bear, but you will fine a spot on the street. You may need to walk uphill a bit. It is right next to the Manhattan Beach Pier and there are great places to walk. The food is amazing. We love all of it, but their enchiladas with rice and beans are the best and they make a great burrito. They also have super guacamole and their beverage selection is great. They do not have a full bar. We love this place.

So like yesterday, I decided to stop by and grab a burrito, but unfortunately, this will be the last time. I usually visit this location with my dad. He's been coming to this location since before I was born and I'm damn near 40. But this time I came alone and the place was packed. They don't have a big seating area. It's like a bar with about four seats to the right and four seat seats to the left so it doesn't accommodate many people, so people order to go. And that was my plan. I walk in and the server (with his chef at and money taped to it) and I grab the same menu. He allows me to have it, and he grabs another and gives it to one of the customers. I say all this to say that he definitely knows exactly when I arrived. However, A white man walks up less than a minute later and for some reason he decides to ask him if he ready to order, as if I'm invisible. This was the second time that this happened to me today and God knows how many times has happened to me in life. So at some point, I just have to stop ignoring the fact that Black people aren't welcome in certain spaces. Maybe we are by law, but not at all met with respect! That is all!
