Beef and chicken patties were good. Jerk chicken wasn't fresh tasted like it was rancid.'rice and peas were very dry . Cabbage was nice and crispy So my main dish jerk chicken not fresh . I will come back for the patties. Ordered from door dash well over 100 dollars. Also ordered brown stew chicken and plantains. Mac and cheese overly salty. read more

Ocho Rios Grill is a great option for Caribbean food in the area as the oxtail and jerk salmon plates are pretty good. Although the jerk salmon can be a bit on the oily side sometimes, we know to ask for that to be lessened in the future. The only thing I can say was the festival bread wasn't the best at all as it was overly fried and hard and you could really taste the cinnamon in it. I wouldn't get that again but would come for the oxtail plate! read more

Whew this food is delicious but lawdddd the jerk chicken is veryyyyy spicy/hot!! I ordered the Large Jerk Chicken Dinner with Cabbage, Rice & Peas, and Festival. Yeah that chicken is built different make sure you have some water nearby. A bit too spicy for me personally lol. Lovedddd the cabbage very flavorful. Also lovedddd the festival too so sweet! The rice & peas were regular...got the job done. Plain gains were solid. Really enjoyed the chicken patty, tasted a lil different than what I'm use to but I wasn't mad at it :). Overall a solid 5 stars yum yum!! Ordered via Uber Eats and presentation was solid too. - Mrs. California Black United States 2026 read more

Ocho Rios Grill - Jerk Chicken Steamed Cabbage Rice & Peas Fried Festival Fried Plantain Chicken Jamaican Patties - Caribbean Near Me - Lawndale, California

Had the spinach patty and ginger pineapple juice--so good! This is my favorite Jamaican restaurant, from the food to the owner to the freshness of the ingredients. It's a must-visit. My go-to dish here is the oxtail with rice and peas, but today I was just dropping by for a snack. Now, back to the spinach patty--crazy thing is, it's actually really big and super filling. If you're not necessarily looking for a full meal but still want something satisfying, try out Ocho Rios. read more

I did to go so the person on the phone was very sweet and explanatory. I ordered Jerk chicken sauce on the sides it comes with three sides. So a lot of options. Then oxtail sauce on and three sides. The portion size was really nice. The food was great a bit spicy but perfect amount. Since I didn't go to pick it up but my dad did I can't speak for ambiance. read more

This place is near where I work. I'd heard that there are a number of good Jamaican places near work. I felt like jerk chicken and tried it here. The place is small. It's in a strip mall. But there is ample parking. Inside it's organized simply. But it's clean and there are no issues. There are Jamaican photos and images all over the place, which is cool. I ordered the jerk chicken lunch meal with plantains, rice and "salad". The salad was cooked cabbage. The rice was the traditional rice with beans, sometimes called moros. I got the sauce on the chicken because i like spicy jerk chicken. the chicken didn't seem to be grilled. But it was moist, flavorful, and tasted good. the rice/beans combo was good. The plantains were nice. The "salad" lacked flavor, and there were no seasonings or sauces at the table to make it better. A pleasant young woman took my order and brought it to my table. I tipped her the bill, as would be my custom. the service was fine. i wish i would have had more sauce and seasoning options. But there were not. The jerk chicken is good here. i'd come here again. read more

When I walked in I was greeted with a warm smile that only a mother and grandmother can give. The owner is so friendly and kind. The restaurant is very clean and cool. I asked if the brown stew chicken was spicy because although my mouth loves spice my stomach does not. She assured me that it was not so that's what I got. Needless to say I was not disappointed with anything on my plate. The chicken and cabbage were tender, rice soft and fluffy, we started talking about the availability of Jamaican food in CT and told her I cook my own oxtails. Of course she said hers were better and brought me some out to sample. That was really kind of her and they were delicious and tender. There was so much food on my plate I didn't think I could eat it all but I cleaned the plate. I told her that I would back at least two more times before the end of my trip. read more

Great food! Pleasant staff and fair ambiance. The curry goat, oxtails, mac & cheese, plantains and cabbage were absolutely amazing. I will be returning for more. read more

Jerk chicken, ox tails are superb as are the sides - greens, yams, mac and cheese, plantains. Portions here are generous too. The jerk sauce is HOT so ask for it on the side on your first try. My Jamaican father in law loved their Akee and codfish too. Meat pies reminded him of Jamaica. We always took some home to freeze. Don't forget to try their house made ginger and pineapple drinks. Annie the owner always is so nice and so is her staff. read more

They say, "You are what you eat"... does that mean I'm a jerk or a chicken? Put those words together and you got a delicious Jamaican dish. I used to come here 7 years ago and they had the best jerk chicken. Sad to say, but I think the recipe changed from back then. It was good but not great. The dish that did get better was the oxtail. The meat was Fall off the bone and it had a delicious flavor. The ladies that work here were real nice and sweet. I will have to come back to try their other dishes. read more

My mom and I used to eat here often before I moved from CA. Now I'm back, and I'm so happy that the food is still really good. I got the curry chicken, mac, rice and peas, and cabbage. All were very good, and I truly regretted not getting a side of Yams for a sweet balance to the savory. The chicken was all thighs on the curry plate which was fine with me but just a note if that's not your thing. My mom got the jerk chicken plate and was pretty happy but preferred that the sauce be cooked heavily on the chicken vs served on the side. Pro tip mix the ginger pineapple with lemonade it's delicious! Friendly service, quick turnaround for food we ate there and still had half a container each of leftovers! read more

Yum!!!!! My grandson and I weee looking for a place to have lunch. He had a taste for Caribbean food. I wanted to try something new and found Ocho Rios. The woman behind the counter was extremely patient with us as we figured out what we wanted. I was also placing an additional order to take away to my daughter. My teenager grandson was in search of oxtails. They only served it from their dinner menu which supplied different sides. He had macaroni and cheese, yams, and rice and peas. I had brown stew, chicken with plantain and order of cabbage. My daughter's order was jerk chicken with cabbage, plantain, rice, and peas. My grandson described his food as fire. My daughter said it was the best jerk chicken she's had. I concur, my food was amazing. In fact, it was so good I forgot to take a picture. Lol. Happy my grandson did. I will definitely be going back. No read more

Ocho Rios Grill - Oxtails, Mac and Cheese, and Yams. - Caribbean Near Me - Lawndale, California

Look, this place isn't cheap. However, I see no reason for me to lower my rating. My GF left town and I had permission to order delivery each day she was gone. I got Ocho Rios on day one and realized this would be a 2 part meal. First, the festivals were massive and a bit different than what I was used to but they were awesome. I got the shrimp combo plate with jerk shrimp and fried shrimp. While the protein was delicious and plentiful, I actually would go back specifically for the sides. My favorite was the cabbage surprisingly. The delicious Mac and cheese gave me thanksgiving vibes and the rice and peas were a close third. This is most certainly some of the best Caribbean food I've had in the South Bay! read more

Ocho Rios was a pleasant surprise. The place was kept clean and the food was amazing. I had the oxtails and the goat curry and they were both delicious. The portions were also generous so I had food to take home. The owner/cook was also very pleasant to talk to. Will definitely come back again. read more

Average Jamaican food. Prices are slightly higher but everything was just okay. There's no calling in your order, the phone has a busy tone. Cabbage was nice and buttery but everything was just okay. The oxtails didn't have a lot of flavor and the jerk chicken was spicy and dry. The lady was nice, there was a man in there watching a movie who was completely unhelpful. I wouldn't come back here. read more

Pros: The food was quite tasty, and it was still steaming hot, considering I ordered it from UberEats. Cons: I wasn't too crazy about the mixed combo of drinks I tried, so I'd recommend sticking with either the fruit punch by itself or the lemonade by itself. read more

Ocho Rios Grill - My receipt - Caribbean Near Me - Lawndale, California

I went today after watching a video on Instagram about their food . All I have to say is WOW! First off the portions are easily enough to feed a small family the curry goat was like PERFECT so tender and just falling off the bone The brown stew chicken was most and juicy The plantain were perfectly soft and sweet but firm and still crunchy on the ends The cabbage was like melt in your mouth BOMB like I could eat a whole bowl of that The MAC AND CHEEESEEE ?!!?? The rice and peas !! I could go on and on about this food . I was debating about pushing myself to eat the whole plate or saving some for later so I could experience it twice ! I will definitely be back again I can't wait to try their other items . the staff is also very friendly and kind . There is a big enough seating area to dine with friends or family . Also their fruit punch lemonade is amazing ! I feel like the price was on par for the meal , might be a little pricey but well well worth it and I would have no problem paying it again! read more

My husband and I came for the first time.... Soo, here's my take on the place. Curry goat was bomb! and everything else was great (rice an peas, cabbage, Mac and cheese). Bookmarked this place, so if I'm back in the area, I will be back. You gotta try it yourself to believe! read more

I actually found this place from a video on TikTok! It did not disappoint either. I called my order in on the phone 10 minutes before I arrived and when I walked in I was greeted with a smile. I let one of the ladies know I called and it was my first time. I have not had Jamaican food since I went to Jamaica over 10 years ago. The smell alone made me sit down and eat some of my food in the restaurant. I got the jerk shrimp with Mac and cheese, rice, and cabbage. the rice was really spicy and nothing I couldn't handle. I would go back. read more

First time here. I ordered through Grubhub, prepaid. I drive to pick up my food, I verified who I am but they wouldn't give me my food until I signed the receipt. When I asked the owner why, she said it was to show that I had picked up my food. I told her I have my proof on my phone and can give her my confirmation number, she said no, that I was required to sign. I shook my head, signed the receipt and was finally given my food. Got home and opened up the to-go containers. I'll say, they are pretty generous with their servings of food, but the food was just ok. I was craving Jamaican food and this food scratched the itch, but ill never go back. I liked that it was close by, I live in Torrance and they're located in Lawndale. I didn't feel like driving to Inglewood for Jamaican food, but I think the next time the craving hits, I'll drive to Inglewood. read more

The food from here hit the SPOT! I ordered the brown stew shrimp plate with cabbage, rice and peas, and plantains. The rice and peas were the star of the show for me. Soooo flavorful! The shrimp and cabbage were delicious. The plantain was average. My sister ordered the oxtails and loved them. I will definitely be ordering again if I get the taste for Caribbean food. It's a little pricey, but I think comparable to other Caribbean restaurants. Go ahead and treat yourself. read more

Best Jamaican food in this neck of the woods. Love their oxtail and curry goat, but other entrees are solid too. Patties are the best, perfectly spicy and full of flavor. All the sides are great, too, always hard to pick just three. The place is kinda meh inside, but similar to other Jamaican restaurants. We usually get take out. read more

Had the jerk chicken it was very dry. The rice and peas had no flavor. Very good hospitality from the cashier

Located in the strip mall with Target A huge shot out to the nice gentleman in the parking lot who recommended the Fried Chicken Dinner !! Here's what I liked: *Inside was very clean *Ginger pineapple juice was FRESH *Our food was FRESH *Customer service is actually polite *My mom had a problem with her food and the cook came out and they actually had a nice conversation ; problem was fixed immediately Here's what I didn't like: NOTHING! I recommend the Fried Chicken Dinner because the flavors were soo good and it was hot and juicy! -like me lolll My mom got a Jerk Chicken plate and she ate most of it lol Although not many people were dining in, there was a constant stream of to go orders while we ate. 10/10 P.S. this is specialty food so don't expect $2 plates lol. The price point most definitely matches the amount of food. read more

I use to frequent this establishment often, however I haven't been in a while and decided to go. I really regret not going to another place. My oxtails and stew chicken were so dry they weren't even enjoyable. I was charged for extra oxtail sauce, but realized when I got home there wasn't even any sauce on the oxtail to begin with so why was I charged? The macaroni was really good, but other than that everything else was mediocre at best. Being so pricey I expected more. I'm not sure what happened here but I won't be returning. read more

Lawdddddd hav mercy! I've been coming here for years, Ocho Rios is my go to when I'm feeling a need for a soul fulfilling, comforting meal. We typically call ahead or order online, usually about a 25-30 min turnaround time. The restaurant does have a few tables and seats but it's not your traditional dine-in style of restaurant. Now on to the food: For a family of 4, I recommend 2 dinner plates (that should be enough to fill everyone stomachs and having some leftovers, trust me you'll want another round). We always go with "Brown Stew" chicken plate along with the "fried chicken" plate. They usually come with 3 sides. Our favorite are the Mac and Cheese, rice and peas, yams, plantains and delicate festival bread. My mouth is salivating while writing this. It's that good!!! If you're really wanting to dive deep in the Jamaican cuisine, I also recommend the patties, the veggie patty is the fam fav! And I can't leave a review without mentioning "Ginger Pineapple". The perfect balance of light ginger spice and sweetness. Mmm mmm, read more
