SO YUMMY !!! nothing fancy here, it's Peruvian buffet located in a strip mall... but yo.... Definitely coming back.. The woman working was very nice & sweet, too!

Food was not fresh. Sure it's prepared and ready for your to go but not sure how longs it's been sitting there. It isn't until food runs out for them to make a fresh batch. Honestly not my favorite. You're better off going to pollo inka and buying 1 dish for the same price.

A classic Buffett with good variety of Peruvian food such as ceviche, mondonguito italiano, etc.

This is a hard one to review. What attracted me to try it was being a all you can eat buffet! They have a large selection of food... soups, entrees, desserts and fruits. Pretty impressive. Sadly, the quality and the taste was basic. If you are not familiar with the Peruvian flair, you'll be happy with the selection. It tasted better than what I would make which is not saying much because I do not cook. Service was great, the server was very kind and kept the tables free of dishes quickly. The cook would come out to check what she needed to bring out often so it was well stocked. I am reviewing this place according to the selection, taste service and price.

I came here yesterday evening for my grandpas 85th birthday. As a Peruvian family it's always nice to have this many options for food choices. The service was great, they were nice to setup the tables, accommodate a big party, & still get us everything we needed in a timely manner. We even got complimentary wine from a party next to us! The ambiance was amazing, the staff, our family, & even strangers always had a smile & it felt genuine. The food was great & I recommend this place for people who want a large variety of Peruvian food! Will come here again!

    Scraps of food

Asked for a seco de carne and got this two bits of meat on a huge bed of rice with some beans. This is a disgrace to call this a dish of any kind. Why sell to go food at a buffet if you're gonna give out scraps like this while charging top dollar.

My partner took me and my family here to eat today and it was great. There was a wide variety of food and everything tasted great. I was pleasantly surprised with this buffet. The service was fantastic! The servers greeted us and seated us right away. They came to check on us multiple times. The restaurant plays Peruvian music in the background and it's nice and tranquil. The parking is good. The prices are good, as well. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

    Lomo Saltado

Lomo Saltado is ok. Buffet is $19.99 during weekends Great meal in a budget I love their fried sweet bananas, budin. Servers are nice too

I always ordered the same thing the Aji de Galina - when I walked in on this hot Friday afternoon, I was looking for a terrific lunch imagine my surprise when I showed up and it wasn't that busy at lunchtime? What the heck! This place used to be packed at lunch lunchtime! I was seated quickly, ordered my drink, and ordered my entrée! While I was waiting, I took a look around. It was a nice restaurant still the service was very prompt and good - why wasn't it busier? Huh. A big surprise to me. Needless to say? When the food came, I was pleased that it tasted exactly the same as I remember - excellent. I got a small bowl of chicken soup, and my entrée was fantastic and plentiful with lots of chicken the way I like it! I can't really say I'll come again and you should too because I know I will come again! But this place is worth a stop if you want to try good food at reasonable prices. Check it out and let me know what you think!

It's definitely more convenient than the Lawndale location, if you ever lands in LAX.

Had I misdosed my gummy from earlier that morning? Is this real life? I carefully crept towards the vehicle. Big red text read "The Chicken Shack... Best Chicken Around!" I ashed the cigar on the pavement and chugged the remaining 6 oz of black coffee. In a world full of minimalist "look how chic, clean, and trendy we are" branding, I crave a loud, boysterous, and unapologetic identity. Where is the heart? Where did the soul of the world go? A few days later, I made my way to the Chicken Shack out of pure respect for this maximalist motor vehicle. The interior is a bit tired, but I've found that these places are where the best bird is served. I ran the half chicken and 2 sides ($18.20), and took it to eat on top of my car. Hermosa Beach is one of the last places I expected to get some good bird, but life is full of surprises. There was flavor in every bite, not just with bites with the skin. I suspect a quality marinade. The skin was also tight and well seasoned, and their green sauce took it nuclear. I can confidently say this is the best chicken I've had in the South Bay so far. I'm always a sucker for some maximalist branding and some good rotisserie chicken. THANK YOU CHICKEN SHACK! IG @johnny.novo Tiktok @jnov__ Substack @johnnynovo

Paying that much for food in this condition is completely unacceptable. The restaurant itself was also dirty, which immediately raised concerns about cleanliness. The chicken smelled spoiled and, to make matters worse, it still had a piece of ice in the middle, showing that it had not been properly thawed or cooked. The pork fried rice had a strong refrigerator odor, as if it had been stored for far too long. On top of that, everything was completely bland and lacked flavor. We decided not to eat the food because we were genuinely concerned about getting sick. Even so, we paid the full bill because we understand how difficult it is to run a business and did not want to create a scene. Unfortunately, even from the small amount I tasted, I ended up feeling sick to my stomach and started vomiting, which ruined the rest of my day. No one should have to worry about getting sick after eating at a restaurant. Serving food in this condition is unacceptable. This is not just about taste it is a serious food safety issue that could make someone ill. Unfortunately, this was a terrible experience, and I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone. I sincerely hope they improve their cleanliness, food quality, and food safety standards so that other customers do not have the same experience.
