I've been looking for authentic Filipino food near North Torrance and this is it! I came at 11am (which is when they opened) and I saw all bunch of people were already waiting to order - which was a great sign. I ordered lumpia, longanisa and pancit and ALL of these were delicious, exactly how it tasted back home in Manila! Highly recommend this place if you're looking for authentic pinoy cuisine :)

Food 5 Service 5 Value 5 I have eagerly awaited the opportunity to visit this when I had to make the dreadful drive to LAX. I found this little gem on TikTok and BOY. Did they deliver! Not only was the food so good, but the sweet family that owns the place delvers the best service you can ask ask for super friendly and engaging.

Super friendly service, we were asked if it was our first time there and if we wanted samples. We tried some of the samples and the food was delicious. A neat little fast food Filipino restaurant and delicious food. Definitely recommend and the prices were decent.

All the food we order are very good and taste like a good home cooked filipino meal, price is reasonable, big portion of food! Looks like a family owned restaurant and they all greeted us like were part of the family. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!

Nice lady behind the counter gave me samples as she could tell I'm a novice for Filipino food. She also explained to me the pricing: food by weight is better if you want to try a lot of different things. But if you just want a few item, then get the combo plate which has rice plus 1, 2, 3, 4, etc. items of your choice. So I did it both ways! For one plate, I got steak like beef in gravy, chicken curry, chicken adobo, sausages, and rice. (That was probably over $18 with tax). For another plate, I got 2 item combo (chicken curry and chicken adobo) which would normally come with rice for $10.99 but because I got pancit noodles, it was another $1. She generously put one of my entree items in a separate container (when I expecting her to fill the styrofoam container). The cafeteria style service (a bunch of different entrees in hot trays) allows you to look thru the glass to see what you want to eat. Menu changes with certain items on specific days ie lechon (the roasted pork only on Thurs.) Will come back again for homestyle food!

Super friendly service and delicious Lechon on Thursdays!

I was in town and found Pick Your Plate on Yelp. I got lucky that it was Thursday, which is Lechon day! The Lechon is sold by the pound and is an absolutely unctuous mix of moist, savory meat and crispy skin with salty/sweet dipping sauce. Served warm and steaming, it was outstanding! I got enough to bring home on the plane back to the Bay Area!

This a hole-in-the-wall Filipino place and it definitely has the Filipino mini buffet. The portions they give you are huge! I got the fried tilapia and they gave me the whole fish on another platter. Instead of rice I got pancit. I'm not sure if you could have gotten pancit and rice, but definitely ask. The eggplant was delicious and was my favorite. The person that rang us up was very nice and explained the sauces to my partner. The only con is that they don't label their dishes so if you don't know Filipino food or take someone who does with you, you might be kind of lost

    Lechon. Mouth watering and tasty

I visited this place after one of my coworkers who is Filipino told me about it. We made sure to go on a Thursday so I could get Lechon!! The food was really good, fresh, and you can tell made with love, so much flavor and juicy goodness, I definitely recommend others that are looking to try Filipino food for the first time or if they're already familiar to go here to get there fixed. The service was great and also the establishment was clean and warm, no frills. They also cater as well, and they ended up catering the Thanksgiving day meal for my job.

Today I was able to make the near impossible happen and we got to the market before it got busy (around 10am). I ordered the goat stew whereas my partner (who is Filipino) just wanted to check out their food. As such he got the salmon. The goat stew reminded me of a flavorful and creamy, Indian curry and the meat was very tender. The owner said to be careful of bones but I encountered none. Meanwhile the salmon was well cooked, soft and not dry. The sauce itself had a pleasing sourness to it but the hot sauce on the side really kicked up the flavor. It reminded us of a creamy Tabasco with a myriad of other flavors like garlic and onions. Ironically, the salmon had bones. The side salad was sweet in a good way with quartered grapes providing the main sweetness. The rice had a nice flavor profile rich with tomato--it reminded us of a cross between a creole rice and Spanish rice... but also not? We don't quite know how to describe it but it was good. If I'm ever able to get my partner up early again on a Sunday, we'll be sure to go back! I hope they eventually open a brick and mortar store. Tip: Buy a bottle of the hot sauce if you remotely like hot sauce. If you buy online, the shipping alone is the cost of buying a bottle in person.
