Hey, El Camino students, you should give this place a try. It is great and cheap. Not too far from the school.

LOVE this place. The cream puffs are the biggest seller here. I saw someone had driven in from a…read moredistance to order these cream puffs to go. They offer these ice packs which are genius and a must since these cream puffs will melt and worse, may not taste as great after the drive home. This place is cute and TINY. The ladies who work here are so kind,hard-working and humble about how amazing these puffs are. My favorite is the black sesame one. Of course, there are several other desserts here. Their cheesecake is another favorite of ours. Parking is limited but I've been able to snag a spot. Definitely check this place out.

Came here and have known owner before she opened Chantilly Lace but since the sale of this shop…read more.. I'm sure she knew she was handing it over to someone who would destroy it but did not care. It's too bad because she was right. Based on the menu... we came at open, but the new owner took our order as the clerk notified us surely there will only be 5 assortments available. The owner said we may have to come back as they are just opening. Which is fine but am having a party with people who like different assortments so we just wanted to place an order. Then the clerk told my wife there will only be 5 assortments of cake! That's it for the entire day! the only difference I noticed with the new management is a croissant section 3 months ago and the selection seem slim then. But the owner explained how she took over a year ago. Knowing Keiko Chan, she must have been torn handing it over to someone like this. Trying to use the name while up pricing mediocre small pastries which seems is her niche. And paying for the recipes the chef left behind. It's a shame what it's become and the chef will be missed. But having the clerk act as boss talking over the owner as she takes orders while the clerk says "Nope, we won't have that" is just weird and acting out of leadership and bad for business. Just my two cents after coming here and knowing the old owner personally before it became a sensation in the J community RiP Chantilly Lace. After reply the lady Helen does not look like the lady who I spoke to 3 months back saying she's is now the new owner. Nonetheless it doesn't make sense what her reply is as far as being opened from 11 am to 8 am... like I said I've been coming to Chantilly when it opened and have been her Guinea pig before she actually opened the shop. Not sure why you would open the shop just to tell patrons nothing but 5 selections are available. But no sweat you just lost patrons that really appreciated the old service and taste. Good day to you Helen Y

There is a variety of different items that go from sweet tastes to savory. You could also choose one of the cakes that are on the glass display; an assortment of diverse cake options, with fruit toppings and delightful deserts like Tiramisu and Pudding. The staff are chill. When you place your tray at the front desk, the pay goes smoothly. Ambiance is cozy, it feels nice to walk around these yummy deserts and see the options. I picked up the hot dog and brioche, which I will describe below. Cleanliness is top-notch, never had a complaint about dirty spots. The displays are cleaned to perfection, absolutely spot-less. Hot Dog The hot dog is spicy and sweet mixed into a savory bread. The crust is so soft with crispy edges. That bread made me so full the entire day. If you want a little savory snack that will fill you up, this sure does it well! The hot dog meat was fresh and loved the garnish as well. Brioche I always get this bread when I visit the bakery. So freshly prepared as always. Love how soft and delicious it tastes. I seriously need to know how they make this because the bread is a good option if you are craving sweet bread but also not too overpowering. Thank you 85°c Bakery for the delicious treats!

If you aren't enticed by the fresh pastries here, at least come and get a yummy coffee jelly milk…read more($4.99) to get a slight coffee and caffeine kick. After watching a movie nearby, I needed a pick-me-up, so I made a beeline to Hamada-ya Bakery for their coffee jelly milk. The strawberry chocolate croissant ($4.99) was also calling my name, so friend and I split that so that we can still have room to get a late lunch later. Hamada-ya has some weekday morning deals, but alas, I am not usually in the area during that time to take advantage of it. Plenty of parking in the lot right by the bakery or by the covered parking structures.

The savory items hit that perfect "simple but satisfying" craving of sweets, the kind of food that makes you nod quietly to yourself like you've just solved a math equation. Their chocolate croissants look like they were assembled with good intentions. And don't get me started on the strawberry shortcake it's like a sweet hug from the universe. "I love sweets and sweets love me." The staff here has the energy of people who genuinely want you to have a good day. They greet you with that gentle Japanese warmth that makes you feel like you are special. They're quick, kind, and patient, even when you're standing there debating between five pastries like it's a life‑altering decision. No rush, no attitude, just good vibes and good bread. This is where Hamadaya really flexes. The pastry case looks like a lineup of contestants in a beauty pageant, every single item is photogenic, symmetrical, and whispering "pick me." The textures are on point: soft, airy breads, crisp cookie crusts, and fillings that scream taste me. It's the kind of bakery where you walk in planning to buy one thing and walk out with a bag that makes you question your self‑control. Honestly, if carbs are a sin, it's time to head back to the gym. I will definitely be returning to try more of their specialty baked goods. Miguel C.
