    Chicken Kabob Plate

Had the chicken kabob plate, was really fantastic. Chicken was juicy and well seasoned.

    Fresh baked baklava!

I tried this place for the first time today and will be back! The service was great, very warm and welcoming. I had the chicken kebab, it came with hummus , rice, and a salad. The hummus specifically stood out to me, very delicious. If you can get the hummus right, that says a lot about the place. At the end I had baklava, fresh out the oven, and it was amazing. Not too sweet and perfectly crisp!

Good food, reasonable prices and healthy (unless you get the amazing french fries with sumac). We had the falafel wrap and the chicken wrap. They came with either french fries or a salad so we got one of each. Loved the chicken breast in the wrap and it was more than enough food for lunch. Falafel wrap had hummus and lots of veggies - also very tasty. If you are in a hurry, maybe call or order online since it took a little while for the food to come and several folks picked up to go orders while we waited. There are a few tables inside and out so you can eat there as well. Nothing fancy, but clean.

This restaurant is so amazing! Came for lunch with my fiancé and we were sat immediately. Robert the owners son made us feel like family. I can't wait to come back

One word: FLAVOR!! I've passed by this location multiple times & finally decided to order through postmates! I was shocked by all of the flavor from the chicken kabob plate! The salad and hummus was delicious! But what really WOWED me was the green seasoned oil!! Wow, drizzling that on top of the rice was perfection- !! I couldn't stop eating it!! The chicken has a similar flavor to that oil so it was chef's kiss!

Burnt , dry chicken kebabs with rice that taste like instant rice. It's not basmati rice

The worst Mediterranean food I've ever had in my life! Never going back here again. What a taste of my hard earned dollars. Chicken kebab tasted old like it was from last night. Dry and burnt. The rice wasn't even Mediterranean rice. Just awful. Never going back here. Can't believe this place has 5 star reviews. I don't believe it

I am in the El Segundo area tonight for work and decided to try Aristo Cafe because it received such high praise from everyone who eats here. I have to say, I AGREE. I ordered the chicken kebab plate. Everything was delicious! The rice was super soft and soaked up all the flavor from the grilled chicken kebab, the salad was fresh and the dressing was perfect. I also got some baklava for dessert and it might have been the best baklava I have ever had. It was not incredibly sweet, which I prefer and the layers of phyllo dough were super crispy and buttery, the nuts in the center were almost creamy. Absolutely incredible, I'm glad one order comes with two pieces.

This place really surprised me. We were in the area and wanted Mediterranean food and we found this place on Yelp. I had the chicken skewers and they were delicious, well seasoned. It came with hummus, salad, pita bread and garlic butter. I will be back to try the chicken sharma. They have about 5 tables and plenty of parking in the parking lot.

The Mediterranean menu is inventive and amazing top to bottom. Start by heading to nomadsouthbay.com and sign up for their email list to get a free hummus appetizer. It's $16 on the menu and comes with a still puffy from the oven flat bread (pita). It's worth the money, but definitely worth joining the email list. After the hummus, we split five dishes for the four of us. The roasted cauliflower is straight forward and delicious, served atop a lovely tahini and turmeric sauce. The kale salad was light and delightful. The lamb kabob plate was exactly what you want in Mediterranean food. The steak atop risotto, a favorite from Jackson's (the prior establishment here), was near perfect. But the star of the show was the Salmon Esquites--perfectly cooked salmon over fresh corn, lime, crema, and pinto beans. I am salivating writhing this! And I'm going back soon!

We were not in a big hurry but we didn't want to have a two hour lunch. When you first walk in, you can clearly see the bar area directly off to your right. It was completely empty. But, I wanted to sit at one of the tables there are they have TVs above the bar. Something to watch in the background during our meal. I notice that there were about four tables taken in their "outdoor" area. So, no busy. We were seated fairly quickly but then it took about 5 minutes before someone came over to offer us water or to order drinks. Seemed like there were only two people working the floor and they seemed a bit ruffled. Overall, for the limited number of patrons who were in the place, I thought we'd get more attention, or at least get it quicker. Once nice, thing, they have some specials daily. My wife ordered the tacos and they were good. I ordered the steak and fries. The steak was good but had a bit of sinew in it, making several pieces chewy. When I needed a refill, I had to flag down one of the two servers. When I wanted our bill, I had to flag down the server. Just seemed odd, for a place that only had 6 or 8 tables occupied (at this point) that we would have to flag them down for service. As said, overall, disappointed and wasn't the mood we wanted to be in before our matinee. Hope your experience is better than ours and...enjoy!!!

However, since I've been back a few times, the consistency and care is extremely lacking. I always order the chicken caesar sandwich which comes as a wrap (I love this). It has always come in "wrap" form, despite falling apart quite a bit since the first time, but when I ordered it tonight it came in taco form with a wrap on top of the "taco". Much more difficult to eat, and it was clear there was no/minimal dressing within the sandwich. I also found a chicken bone in my meal, which makes me wonder about the standards staff are held to. I would not be writing this review if not for the chicken bone (picture attached), as the food is quite good and the staff gives exceptional service. Though the flavors in the food are nothing short of incredible (especially the sauce that comes with the Caesar sando) I am concerned about the care/storage of the food placed for customer consumption.

Al Hamra Kabob Grill is a restaurant run by a Pakistani owner, specializing in kebabs and grilled…read moremeats inspired by Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cuisine. The menu also features traditional Pakistani, Persian, and Arabic dishes, such as Beef Nihari and Haleem. After several visits, here are my thoughts on some of their grilled meats and desserts. Beef Kofta - 3/5. The kofta was a bit dry and tough. I wish it had more fat and seasoning to make it juicier and more flavorful. The grilling is also somewhat inconsistent--sometimes the kofta comes out beautifully browned, while other times it's over-charred. Grilled Fish - 4/5. This is easily my favorite item on the menu and, in my opinion, their best dish. The fish is seasoned just enough to enhance its natural flavor without overpowering it. It's grilled very well, developing a beautiful golden-brown crust while remaining moist and tender inside. Beef Shish Kebab - 3.5/5. The quality of the beef is decent, especially considering the price. Given the cut of meat they use, they've done a commendable job with the grilling. The beef has a solid seasoning base and a nice sear with just enough char to add flavor without becoming overly smoky. It's reasonably tender, though I wish it retained a bit more juiciness. Chicken Shish Kebab - 3.5/5. Very similar to the beef shish kebab. It has good flavor and is grilled well, but it could benefit from being a little juicier. Gyro - 2/5. Unfortunately, this was the biggest disappointment. The gyro meat on the vertical spit often appears to be rotating without enough heat to properly caramelize and crisp the exterior. As a result, the meat comes across as dry, rubbery, and lacking the rich roasted flavor that makes a great gyro. Kunafa (Knafeh) - 3/5. This dessert has both strengths and weaknesses. The cheese filling has a pleasant, slightly salty flavor and a creamy texture, and I appreciate that it isn't overly sweet. However, the syrup is underwhelming. A good kunafa should be generously coated with a fragrant sugar syrup - ideally infused with rose water or orange blossom water - to provide sweetness and aroma. I also wish the kataifi, the shredded pastry dough, were crispier and lighter to create a better contrast with the gooey cheese filling. Overall, Al Hamra Kabob Grill is one of the better places to enjoy Middle Eastern-style grilled dishes in the South Bay. While a few menu items could be improved, the grilled fish stands out as excellent, and the shish kebabs are solid choices. The owner is also incredibly friendly and welcoming, creating a warm, neighborhood atmosphere that keeps customers coming back. It's not perfect, but it's a restaurant I enjoy visiting from time to time and one I'd recommend if you're craving grilled Middle Eastern flavors.

I've never eaten in, but I've picked up food from here twice and have enjoyed their food at my sister's house at least one other time. The first thing I don't understand is how this place is in Torrance rather than Redondo Beach. I don't mean that I don't understand why they chose Torrance over Redondo Beach; I mean that I just don't understand the two cities' boundaries very well, because this feels like straight-up North Redondo to me. The second thing I don't understand is how this place hasn't expanded or multiplied or otherwise won the hearts and minds and stomachs of South Bayers near and far. But maybe it already has. The third thing I don't understand is why I don't come here more often. It's not that far from my sister's house, and I was dog-sitting there earlier this year. . . . I'm fresh out of things I don't understand. What I do understand is that the owners of this place (an Armenian brother and sister?) are amazing. The food is so good and fresh and flavorful. The menu is kind of all over the place, which in most cases is a red flag, but in the case of more than one restaurant owned and operated by Armenians (I'm including my cousin's restaurant before he sold it and retired), the more different items on the menu, the better. Or at least it's not a red flag. I promise. The combo deal is legit, but even without that deal, the prices are good, especially when you consider the food quality. Writing his review now makes me miss King Mediterrano even though I don't normally miss it or think about it. Those days are over. Next time I have calories to collect in the South Bay, I'm headed straight for Redondo Beach Boulevard.
