I've never actually sat in the restaurant and ate, but every time I have gotten takeout here, it's been so delicious. I will admit that mediterranean food is usually pretty mid for me, but this place makes me LOVE it. The meat is always tender and flavorful no matter what meat I get, and the pita bread always pairs so well with it and the sauce and rice. A Hidden gen in the southbay! I took my family for dinner here. We were a large group and they seated us in the back room. We loved the ambience and decor of the place, reminds me of the Middle East. We ordered several items on the menu: Chicken Shawarma plates and wraps, Beef Shawarma Wraps and plates, and the Taco plates. Everything was made fresh and piping hot! My kids had the burger and fries. Everything tasted delicious and was very nicely seasoned. Not greasy, oily, or fattening. Thats why we love mediterranean food because it healthy and hearty. I went to an event for 30 people in a private dining room area, buffet style. So I plated my own food, but wanted to write about the food. The service was great. Even for a large group, our server was very attentive. Everyone picked what they wanted previously and was charged by the person based on their selection. I got the 2 chicken skewers and the chicken was juicy and tender. It was so good I ate the entire thing. The rice was decent, same with the salad with Greek dressing. My favorite was the Jalapeno hummus. It was so good, and had a nice kick to it. They gave us plenty of garlic sauce and pita bread. I really also enjoyed the garlic sauce, I personally prefer a very garlic forward sauce and for my personally it was on the milder side, but still very good. I dod order the Zucchini dumplings, and it was ok. I wasn't a huge fan of it. Maybe the cheese in that I wasn't a fan of. I'm not saying it tasted bad. It was just not my thing. Came for lunch with my coworkers. There was ample parking outside and lots of seating inside. We sat down with no problems at all. I got the chicken shawarma plate with the artichoke pesto hummus off of their lunch specials menu that runs Tuesday-Friday 11am-3pm. Before our food came out the server gave us pita chips with toum. These were to die for! An amazing appetizer. The chicken was juicy and flavorful. The artichoke pesto hummus was a good addition as well. The plate also came with a side of rice, salad, and pita. I looked at the menu and ordered the falafel plate with salad, hummus, and pita. My partner ordered the chicken burger and the garbanzo soup. This place has a lot of positives: good location, free parking out front, spacious restaurant, and attentive service. The server came out within 15 minutes, and the food was ready. They served us hummus, pita chips, and pita. Portion sizes are good. We actually ate the hummus and salad and took our main dishes home for later. I asked the server to put the dressing on the side for my salad, and once the server realized they had already mixed the dressing in, they brought out another salad, which was really nice of them. The chicken burger was fresh and tasty, with a fluffy bun, nice flavors in the sauce, and well-seasoned chicken. The sides that came with my falafel plate were good. The soup was hot and fresh. Nice added touch to the meal. The only downside was that my green falafel was overcooked and burnt. You can tell by the photos that it was left cooking too long. Sooo sooo good! In terms of food we had the three kebab plate as well as a kebab wrap and a side of traditional hummus. We also got the jalapeño cilantro hummus, which was delicious and almost tasted like guacamole to be honest. We loved all of the food. Everything came out at the right temperature at the right time. We stopped in a few months ago based on Yelp reviews. The restaurant was dark and could have had better days. We selected some baklava in the display and asked to also purchase some pita chips. When we got home and opened the container of pita chips, they were all broken into little pieces, like what you'd find at the bottom of a bag of crushed chips. Needless to say, we were disappointed as we were planning to dip them in some fresh hummus. Baklava was just ok. A surprising gem in an old neighborhood of Hawthorne. The restaurant decor matches the neighborhood. The restaurant has been around for quite a while, but that does not diminish from the experience. The booths were very comfortable, and the food was excellent. Service counts and it was excellent. A waitress did everything possible to try to make this a pleasant experience and she very much succeeded. This restaurant wants your business and goes above and beyond. We love coming here. The young man named Roel helping us yesterday provided such great service. The food is always amazing and delicious. We got the chicken samosas as our appetizer and 7 kabobs meal that comes with 4 hummus flavors, pita, 4 salads, and rice. We got all of them beef kabobs, they do up-charge 1.75 per beef but so worth it. We added a chicken and kafta kabob too. The beef kebab is insanely delicious and out of this world something you wouldn't expect from the outside looking into this place. The beef shawarma and kafta kabob were nicely seasoned, and the chicken kabobs had a nice char on the outside but were still tender and juicy on the inside. We went with the cilantro hummus and wow, I would eat just that and pita all day. Not to leave out the falafel.. it's exactly what you'd expect. Crispy, not oily and full of flavor. I had this through a takeout order; so I did not go into the actual location to dine. My first thought is that I did enjoy it greatly, it is definitely above average Mediterranean/Greek style food. I had the combination kebab platter with rice, salad, hummus of choice and two kebabs, ground beef kebab, and a chicken skewer. I went with the roasted red pepper hummus, which was delicious. The rice was nice, with a slightly sweetened taste, it is not the more typical salty/olive oil type of rice found in many Middle Eastern cuisines. The rice was very fluffy and the grains were separated. It was not a sticky rice or anything like that. It also came with a package of pita bread, with three full pieces of pita. Both of the kebabs were very, very enjoyable. The ground beef kebab was quite moist and flavorful, and this is coming from someone who has a lot of experience with Middle Eastern food. The chicken kebab was excellent with a nice smoked/grilled flavor. That one comes with the skewer stick still inside, the chicken kebab was not ground chicken, it was the type of kebab that is an actual piece of chicken cooked on the skewer. I appreciate it how the food was packaged for takeout. The rice and the kebabs were together in a large box and a salad was in a separate smaller box to maintain optimum freshness. It came with a package of plastic utensils, a balsamic type of salad dressing, and a cup of garlic sauce, that thick creamy garlic spread that is very often served with Middle Eastern food. The dressing was fresh and crisp, very good on the salad. The garlic dipping sauce was wonderful for the pita bread as well as dipping the kebab into. I also got a mango lassi drink, and a piece of chocolate baklava. They were both spectacular. I just wish they were both bigger. I like a lot :-) all in all, I definitely enjoyed this meal and would be very happy to eat from hummus house again. Next time I just need to order two or 3 cups of mango lassi and a few pieces of baklava. The order was placed over the phone and the gentleman on the other end taking the order was polite. My entire order came to slightly under $30 which is pretty typical for a full entrée platter, dessert, and drink from a casual eatery around here. I would recommend! read more

Lots of seating , friendly staff, and great lunchtime specials during the week! Also, a great garlic dip and pita crisps for the table to enjoy while we waited for our food.
