Great food and great service! We've been eating onsite and also lots of take-out since early 2020 and love the quality of the food and the effort put into the healthiness of the overall menu. Burritos and bowls, especially ones made with salmon and chicken are on our favorites list. I looked at my take-out email receipts and there are over 60 visits not including eating onsite. One of my new favorite places for sure. My family and I went to this place 3 times in 1 week because we enjoyed it so much. Every time I ask my wife where she wants to go eat now, she always says this place. We've had many of their popular dishes, and all have been great. All of their food is well prepared, decent portions for the price, and very flavorful. My favorite has been their lomo saltado with tofu. The Bamba is okay but not as good. The gogi tacos have great Korean Mexican fusion flavor with a little spice. The cakifornia burrito is also very filling and delicious. Edamame wantons are good, but I think it's really the sauce that makes it. On their own, they're just okay. Love that they have options to customize everything to your liking. It's a smaller place located in a larger plaza so lots of parking around. Some indoor seating, and it's never been too busy since most people take it to go it seems. It looks like it used to be a donut shop--and maybe it was--but they've done a good job of replacing the plastic and linoleum with wood and laminate. The food is very good. I don't remember what I had the last time I was here, but on both of my visits, my taste buds were happy campers. The people who work here are nice, but because it's an order-first, find-your-own-seat kind of place, you don't see much of them once they've delivered your food. If you come with a group larger than three, beware that different things can take vastly different amounts of time for them to prepare. They don't warn you about this, so it can be annoying. They bring out whatever's ready right away, whether or not anything else from your table is ready. The food is so good, though, that it's worth waiting on the kitchen's capriciousness. read more

Located on busy pch, although I've only stopped by a few times, the store is always packed with people and pending orders. Bowls, salads, tacos, burritos made with fresh food and tasty sauces. The pulled pork and barbacoa bowls with chipotle sauce was enjoyable (though not enough sauce provided), and the portions are plenty. I have been coming to Rabano in Manhattan Beach for many years, although I might have skipped going for the past few years for unknown reasons. Tonight I brought in some bowls, the Chicken Saltado and the Salmon and both were exactly as I remember them. The Saltado had moist/tender chicken, french fries, tomatoes, onions and a good tasting sauce. The Salmon was fresh tasting and came with assorted vegetables and Hollandaise sauce. I chose 1/2 greens, 1/2 ancient grains for one bowl, and white rice for the second bowl. Both of these meals were outstanding in quality, preparation, and taste. I also ordered the edamame potstickers appetizer and they were crispy with just the slightest twang of spice. I can't recommend this place enough. Portions are generous and it's both healthy and delicious. I really wish they would expand and open a location up in OC. I order the La Bamba bowl which comes with black beans, corn, avocado, cashew chipotle sauce, pico de gallo, and protein: chicken breast, tofu or pulled pork. I really enjoy the pulled pork. It's tender and extremely flavorful. Ask for extra cashew chipotle sauce on the side since it's super tasty and the amount of sauce they give isn't enough to coat every bite. They have plenty of options which makes it easy for parties of 3 or more to have a large selection of items to choose from. The food was delicious and very fulfilling. Would like it more if the sauce was a little spicier. Jasmine Blossom tea: got it with light ice, oat milk, and 75% sweet. Loved the warm boba, but the drink tasted very diluted. This is going to be an epic review. First, let me thank Rabano for creating a cool concept. The menu is super California, and for the most part, my experience with the food has been good. I've probably ordered here 50 times because I live really close. The owner has served me a few times--really nice man. And the staff in general is kind. Then why the 3 stars? Well, I'm not sure what's happening with service these days, but in general, it's lacking awareness and attention to detail. First, let me acknowledge the cooks because the amount of food coming out of this place is wild! Having served, bartended, expoed, and pretty much done every single position in high-class to low-class restaurants, I understand how hard it is to maintain consistency. That being said, if I walk into Rabano at 7:30-8 PM, I'm expecting my experience to be subpar. Today, I ordered a vegan burrito with steak instead of the fake meat. 10/10 for speed, 4/10 for quality. The proportions in the burrito were out of whack, dry, and it didn't even fully wrap--it turned into a burrito salad. Maybe the cooks need some of that tip money, because the biggest issue I have with Rabano is the service. I should not have to ask for a napkin. I should not have to get up for anything. But it happens 50% of the time! I understand we live in a different world now, and this new generation that's coming up is completely unaware of the horrors my generation and the generation before us went through in the service industry. I had four-star chefs literally throwing plates at the wall in frustration. Insane standards from GMs all the way down to expos. There was no automatic tipping system. You had to serve your guest, then give them a paper receipt after their experience--not before. Perhaps this automatic tipping is fueling a complacent, droned-out mindset. I try to remind myself to breathe and have compassion for these young folks who are completely oblivious to what service is. Ask yourself, Would I want a napkin? Should I turn on this insane neon light right in front of someone eating at 8:15 PM when the place closes at 8:30? Hook me up with some blue light glasses because that things insane! Should I mop the floor at 8:20, making it very unsafe for customers to walk out? Because of my past in the service industry, I've always been willing to tip and give the love. But everyone at Rabano needs a big wake-up call. You guys close at 8:30. That's early in the service world. Young nice lady trying to take my basket without asking if I'm finished. I wasn't. Trust me I know it's 8:26, cuz I respect this game called service. My foot will be landing on sidewalk 830 sharp. I know the kitchen works hard, but you've gotta finish strong with quality. There is zero excuse not to have utensils or napkins. Everyone should watch The Last Samurai. As ridiculous as the concept of Tom Cruise in that role is, you'll be delighted to know that the word "samurai" means to serve. Have some honor, have some respect, and be thankful for the system in place. Because if I were running Rabano, there would be no automatic tipping. It's not a good system. But, like I said, everyone that works there is really nice. It just breaks my heart how unaware some of you young folks are. Time to class it up a bit, Rabano. My coworkers and I have ordered multiple times through door dash at this place. Great quality food and ingredients. I'm a fan of the steak saltado. A few days ago, I decided to try something different and I ordered the showtime burger. It was amazing and probably one of the best burgers that I've had. The only thing I wish would change is being able to make changes using the door dash. By the time my burger came and was delivered the my burger started to become soggy.
