I got some takeout here when in the area and in a bit of a rush, so sadly, didn't have time to dine in! When I arrived, parking was super easy in the giant free lot they share with other businesses. The restaurant is really cute with lots of cozy seating and the decor is fun, vibrant and eclectic! I was greeted by a friendly employee who was very helpful and found my order really quickly! I ordered two potato and cheese tacos and they were so flavorful and perfectly seasoned! The taco was crispy and the potato inside was so soft luscious while the cheese was melty. It had a great savory flavor and was accompanied with sauces to give it even more spice! I regret not getting a dessert, as their dessert case was filled with enticing looking cakes! This just gives me a reason to return and dine in next time!

We are regulars here. There's a laid back, comfortable atmosphere. The staff is warm and inviting, The vegan food is so delicious my omnivore friends love to come here. There is a large list of choices for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. They serve breakfast all day! They Los lovely lattes and luscious smoothies. Th kitchen is excellent. Abel, the friendly chef, and his staff prepare fresh, lovely presented, healthy food in large portions. Server Justin is excellent and so nice-- we enjoy talking with him. Server Sharon also is sweet and very helpful. Go to The Grain Cafe-- you'll be happy you did!

This place has such AMAZING vegan food. Also, so much of it is gluten free too which is a huge plus. You really cannot go wrong with any of their options. The only reason I rated it 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the price to portion ratio. The prices are a little extreme for the amount of food you are getting, but it is all organic and the quality is superb. Worth a visit every once in a while for me. You can tell that this is family-run and the interior is way more inviting than it would seem. My friend had the curry wrap and loved it! I had the huevos a la mexicana (tofu) and it was so delicious I would definitely order it again. It came with an organic homemade hot sauce that I wish I could buy!!!

Incredible experience!! If you want a peaceful meal, VIP treatment, this is the place!! Food was delicious - mole burrito (chicken was perfect with juicy texture) We tried the tempeh and it was also flavorful and unlike anything I've had. Our server Mildred was incredibly kind, attentive to detail and made our visit extra special.

Arriving around 4:00 p.m., after a pleasant walk, we found the restaurant fairly empty. No one was at the register, so I helped myself to a couple of menus. Choosing what to eat proved challenging; the menu offered a wide variety. My friend is encouraging me to eat more vegan meals, aiming for four days a week. I started with a berry smoothie. The menu boasted many vegan options, but I ultimately opted for a pizza with roasted peppers, zucchini, mushrooms, vegan cheese, and marinara sauce, along with a side of potatoes. My friend ordered a club sandwich, adding mushrooms, and a side salad. My pizza was exquisite--it practically melted in my mouth! The sauce had an unexpected, almost buffalo-like tang, though it was listed as marinara. Even though I was quite full from the potatoes and smoothie, I managed two slices. I'll definitely return to explore more of the menu, but I highly recommend the pizza--you won't be disappointed.

Vegan shenanigans continue... Someone told me about this place. So we decided to check it out. After asking for recommendations from the waiter, I went with the breakfast burrito and vanilla latte. Both were delicious. I had never had tempeh bacon. So good. And the coffee wasn't bitter at all. My niece got three tacos and an iced caramel coffee. She said they were all good, but the highlight was the potato taco. The only thing we didn't like was the homemade salsa. It was heat without any other flavor. They should work on that. This place is highly recommended though. They have a lot of variety on the menu. So there's something for almost everyone.

Service is fine, since we asked what options we may order without onion and garlic. Server knows the menu and the preparation well, and for few times he went double check for us. So that may other and enjoy my meal with peace and rest. Vegan cheese was tasty. I knew the drink I could ask for less sweet. Environment is spacious.

I went to visit my sister in Hermosa Beach and she recommended we go to The Grain Cafe for lunch. It is located in a strip shopping center with a few other vegetarian restaurants located nearby. It is comfortable with ample seating and bright decorations. This restaurant is vegan, which I was interested in trying, since I have been transitioning to eating more plant based foods. We both ordered the Hibiscus Iced Tea, which was quite good and was served with honey. I ordered the Falafel Wrap with a side of potatoes. The falafel was baked which I prefer over fried. The ample spinach wrap was stuffed with falafel, hummus, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers and tahini sauce. The potatoes were decent but were not very hot. Overall the lunch was tasty and there was enough food to bring home leftovers. My sister ordered the Patty Crepe but was brought the Veggie Crepe instead. She ate half of it before realizing that there was no patty. She informed the server that she was given the wrong order and apologized and offered to bring the patty separately, which she accepted. She took a bite of it and said it was very good but would save it for later. She also took home half of her order. The menu is quite extensive. I would definitely return to try out some of their other dishes.

This is Spanish rice, black beans, chicken, and tahini sauce, it is so delicious I have you Recomended

I was looking for a place that had vegan options during breakfast when I remembered seeing this Grain Cafe location during my last visit to the neighboring restaurant Happy Veggie. I'm no stranger to Grain Cafe. I've previously enjoyed a Reuben sandwich or two via delivery from the Long Beach location. However, I've never had the pleasure of dining in. That is, until now. My mom, my sister, and I walked into this Redondo Beach location on a Sunday after 9am and was seated right away. There was only one other party in the dining room at the time of arrival and another party that arrived after us. The amount of options on this all-vegan menu is impressive! I had the Veggie Crêpe which totally hit the spot. It was filled with spinach, mushroom, zucchini, red bell peppers, and topped with a garlic-basil aioli. The portion was quite large! I also like that the side salad had a bit of quinoa. Whatever dressing they use on the salad is tasty. https://bit.ly/3TlLTaj My sister had the Patty Crêpe which I almost ordered myself so I was stoked that she went for it. I appreciate that they used a veggie patty and not Beyond or Impossible. It comes with vegan cheese, tomatoes, pickles, avocado, and a special sauce. https://bit.ly/3T4hSKR My mom had the English Muffin which sandwiched tofu and vegan sausage and cheese. This came with a side of hashbrowns. https://bit.ly/3UXyFlh Yummy dishes all around! Good neighborhood cafe. The large dining room was fairly empty for the most part which makes me wonder if lunch and/or dinner are more busier times. I would absolutely eat breakfast here again though I wouldn't mind checking out the lunch/dinner vibes as well.

Great plant based restaurant! This restaurant is located in an outdoor strip mall with a few other plant based restaurants. Parking in the lot was easy and plentiful no matter what time we visited. In short, the burritos are amazing. I've dined in and had takeout and was not disappointed. This is one of my favorite places for a burrito. Service is good. Prices are reasonable.

Just found a gem in Redondo Beach! Calling all vegans - and especially those needing gluten-free options - you HAVE to try this place. I honestly had the best vegan and gluten-free breakfast I've had in a long time. It's almost impossible to find a breakfast that meets both those criteria and tastes this amazing! My husband and I shared a few dishes to try a bit of everything, and we were so impressed. And the lattes? Just heavenly! We absolutely can't wait to stop by again on our next trip to Redondo Beach.

For lunch I ended up doing the 3 for $21 deal which is exactly that, a fantastic deal. I ended up choosing the House Fries, the Tempura Fish Tacos, and the 1/2 Grilled Cheese Sandwich. How was it? House Fries- Covered in Grana Padano and Mustard Aioli, these French Fries were super crispy and tasted really, really good. Tempura Fish Tacos- Two tacos that I wish I could transform into 20. The Tempura fish here was absolutely delicious. 1/2 Grilled Cheese Sandwich- A few different cheeses between some sourdough, a simple but fantastic grilled cheese sandwich. Overall, The Hook & Plow was a fantastic place to stop for some lunch and I plan on checking out the other locations now. Between really great service and really great food, this place is a definite must if you find yourself in the Hermosa Beach area.

And Hubbers suggested this place for a late-ish lunch because he's been here before and had a positive experience. Outdoor seating only since we had the furballs. We had our choice of where since we were the only customers on a late lunch hour. Servers were so patient with our pups (even when they were moody - my apologies!) and were even nice enough to bring them water bowls! It was a cool and cloudy day, but that didn't damper anything. In fact, we appreciated it coming off the heat wave from the last couple of weeks! Everything on their menu looked so good, it took me awhile to decide. But Hubbers and I agreed on the Kayak Tide Tray (+4 extra oysters) and the charred watermelon salad. In the meanwhile, I battled between lobster pasta and five dragon pastrami. (The pasta won out.) Hubbers went for the cedar planked Ora king salmon. And a couple of cocktails to wash it all down! KAYAK TIDE TRAY: The seasoned scallops were my favorites, hands down. The sauce was fantastic and didn't overpower the scallops' main essence. The oysters were shucked fresh and the sauces elevated the flavors a bit. Shrimps were chilled tender and had a nice chew. Cocktail sauce added flavor. The mussels? Sad to say, but half of them were served still frozen hard. So we took our time with it and let it thaw out which didn't happen until we were halfway our meal. Overall: excellent. CHARRED WATERMELON: This plate was so well put together! And not only is it pleasing to the eyes (nice touch with the micros!), it was the same with the palate. Watermelon was fresh. Charred only on one side (I'm curious what it would be like if they charred ALL the sides - will make this request - only if possible - next time!) Taking bites from each component of this salad makes all the difference: the acidity of the tomatoes are tempered by the burrata and the cucumbers, and the freshness of the watermelon makes it all refreshing. The onions added a bit of tart, as did the pomegranates. Didn't notice any macadamia nuts, but no matter! This is a must have! LOBSTER PASTA: Didn't happen... see below. LOBSTER ROLL: Served along with Hubbers' salmon plate (more on that later.) We had a different server at this point (our first one told us he was going on his break.) I thought Hubbers put in an order of this too, so I moved the plate to his side. Our server noticed this and said, "Are you sharing? Would you like an extra plate?" Hubbers confirmed he didn't other this. And that neither did I, but we are waiting on the lobster pasta. He then explained they are out of that dish, "was this not related to you?" Long story short, I told him I'd take the roll, no biggie. He offered to comp it, and if I like, I can put in another order. So I went for the pastrami. And as we waited for that, Hubbers and I split this and WOW. Bread was toasted and buttered perfect, generous with the amount of lobster, plating was a delight to the eyes, and overall delicious. I appreciated the aroma of the tarragon. Yum! FIVE DRAGON PASTRAMI: This is a generous serving, plenty to share with another. Lots of flavors with each bite but the well-seasoned and flavored pastrami dominates them all. The slaw was strong but the subtleness of the lappi balanced it out. Sourdough was perfectly toasted. I thought about not ordering this since I knew the lobster roll might have been enough, but I'm sure glad I went for it! Delish! Hubbers let me have a couple of bites off his salmon plate and O.M.G.!!! He sure picked a good one! Skin was seasoned crispy and the fish was so moist! This is probably one of the best versions of salmon I've had. (For the record, I rarely order anything salmon since 90-95% of the time, they're served dry, but this one here, I'd highly recommend.) FOOD: 4.75. SERVICE: 5. They were AMAZING!!! VALUE: 4. Given the location, pricing is understandable. But worth it. PARKING: Street/Structure only. All metered. And getting here will require a bit of a walk depending on where you parked. OVERALL: 4.5. Plans on coming back here with more people is now in the works. Looking forward to doing that soon!

It was the sickest I have ever felt in my life with severe nausea. At the same time, my 3‑year‑old daughter suddenly spiked a 103.5° fever and developed diarrhea. My husband had to rush her to urgent care, and from there she was sent to the ER so she could receive fluids. Watching my child go through that was terrifying. After a week of not improving, I went to urgent care and tested positive for Salmonella poisoning. My daughter also tested positive while she was hospitalized. We are both still dealing with symptoms. I am going on a second strong course of antibiotics today. After my test result was reported, the LA County Department of Public Health contacted me. They told me that another woman in Redondo Beach, who had eaten the same salad on 12/22, also tested positive for Salmonella and had been hospitalized for several days. The hamachi crudo tasted fresh but I'm a purist and always prefer the fish flavor over the vinaigrette dressing. The beef tartare was a tad under seasoned imo. The mains blew my mind. Usually the mains are outshined by the starters in a fine dining establishment. Not here! The Indian egg was something I've never had. A soft boiled egg enveloped with an Indian spiced sausage was surrounded by cucumber, sumac, and yogurt. A mandatory order. The smoked and fried chicken (brined a few days prior per our server) was hot, delicious, and complimented with a soy and chile sauce. Great meal in itself. Get it! Hand rolled spaghetti was coiled with a mixture of mushrooms in a brown butter sauce. Super savory. Great starch, goes well with everything. Can't wait to try more dishes during future visits!

I had the cutest breakfast at this charming little French restaurant and already can't wait to go…read moreback! I ordered the Madrid Omelette with cheddar cheese, avocado, sausage slices, salsa, and sour cream -- and wow. Each bite was absolutely delightful. It was paired with a creamy potato gratin, a fresh baby green salad, and a baguette served with homemade jam and butter. I completely cleaned my plate (which says everything!). I also had a lavender chai latte that was so tasty and perfectly balanced. I sat outside with my friend and my dog, and the server was so kind to bring my pup a bowl of water -- such a thoughtful touch. There are only about five tables outside, which made it feel cozy and relaxed. I didn't get a chance to see the inside, but the outdoor seating was very comfortable and charming. Will definitely be coming back to try more items on the menu!

I went for a walk along side the beach with my cousin and after she left, I decided to check out a…read morespot for breakfast and this place did not disappoint. It was early for rhe brunch crowd so it was quiet and plenty of seats. I got the French Benedict, ever since I discovered Brie in breakfast! It was delicious. The potatoes were amazing and so was the jam that they served with the bread. I couldn't finish it. I did have the red sangria which was refreshed and the glass of the hibiscus mimosa, which looked super pretty but I'm pretty sure it's just champagne and a flower inside of it. Service was good and again, it was earlier on a Sunday so I avoided the brunch crowd and there was a decent amount of parking.
