We decided to visit Riviera village after a relaxing morning stroll through Torrance Beach. Since it was almost noon, we searched on Yelp and decided to have some crepes for lunch. The restaurant has inside seating for 40 guests and outside for 30. We arrived between breakfast and lunchtime and were able to get the last outside table. The attentive staff got us seated right away, and after browsing through their menu, we ordered the following items (arrived in 15 minutes) : Marine: The buckwheat outer layer was soft, not soggy, and with nice resistance. The light creamy tomato-based dressing with sliced mushrooms was pleasantly flavorful. Both shrimp and scallops were of good size, fresh and juicy. Fromage: Like Marine Crepe, the buckwheat out layer was soft. The mild brie cheese provided pleasant creaminess to the filling. Seasoned bacon, scrambled egg, onion, and mushroom added nice savoriness to the dish. The portions were sensible and the prices were reasonable. Very nice culinary experience. read more

The young boy waiters barely speak English with his heavy accent and let you wait by the table for cleanup. 4. I think the shift has been changed and food taste become horrible. 5. My daughter order hamburger like she usually left to order this hamburger at that place the meat was like rubber band and the meat was overcooked we specially mentioned the waiter that we want the meat to be cooked medium and she even mention it on the order ahe took !! We had planned to have breakfast at our years long favorite in Manhattan Beach, but it was late (about 1.30 pm) and Saturday. Parking was impossible!! So we drove along the coast to Redondo Beach and stumbled across this place. It looked great, the staff were welcoming and attentive in the extreme. The establishment had a cool, intimate charm both inside and outside in the sun. This time we both decided of different waffle man from the many offered but their dinner and lunch offerings will DEFINITELY bring us back and soon - despite the 50 minute drive from Beverly Hills. I am obsessed with the French Benedict with lamb and brie simply because I just can't get that anywhere else! This place fails with large parties. We had 12 and they missed 2 orders, 30 min later still no food. Everybody was done eating and still no food for the 2 they missed. The waiter inattentive after food arrived, we never received a second round of drink orders, with empty water glasses, it's like he went to break but he didn't go to break he was busting tables next to us. Now why buss tables if you can't even attend to the tables you currently have. We've been months earlier and had similar issue, when they served 4 of the plates and then proceeded to tell one of friends they ran out of Quiche they ordered. Same experience show how bad this place manages itself. The food was mid at best, nothing great,. We won't be back. Best part of this experience is we found Rebel literally next door has a chef curated brunch menu with delicious food. read more

Krusteaz bags all over restaurant. The waffles don't taste good and it's clear why. They are using krusteaz pancake mix which is ridiculous for the price they charge. I'd strongly advise to not come here. Just disappointing. Also it was definitely the right spot...contrary to owners response. They know what they are doing. It's lazy. I took my friends here for breakfast. We had 2 omelet dishes, one with chorizo and the other with ham and cheese. Not bad, a little dry and over cooked for my taste. It's a nice plate with a bit of salad greens, sliced baguettes, butter & jam and a nice tasting potato gratin. Our other friend had a buckwheat crepe. She claimed it was a tad dry, but filled with goat cheese and other stuff. She enjoyed it nonetheless, especially the candied walnuts on top. Coffee was good and bottomless. It's a nice little French bistro that spills onto the sidewalk. Nice French feel to it. Service was professional and courteous. The place was busy at around 9 am on a Sunday. We dropped in for a glass of wine on a chilly night on the patio & decided to add the deviled eggs for a snack, perfectly cooked (topped with tiny bacon shreds, be sure to ask if you don't prefer) they were tasty & four to a plate during happy hour. (Regular hours have six - 3-œufs). Our lovely server, Meredith provided blankets & refilled the propane heater to keep us cozy. Before wrapping up, we decided to enjoy the crème brûle to check if it was up to our standards. HANDS DOWN, best crème brûle we've ever tasted. Made to perfection with a thick, warm sugar crust, proper temperature chill on the custard, a garnished with seasonal strawberries & a house made whipped cream. Mesdames et messieurs, bienvenue en France Situated about a block away from the ocean, Creme de la Crepe brings France to Redondo Beach's Riviera Village, including the best part: delicious desserts! The restaurant is reminiscent of a European cafe. The inside is a little bit smaller than a regular restaurant, but there is also outdoor seating available to enjoy the air on those nice, warm days. I will say immediately that they offered some of the best service I've ever received. The staff was so attentive in making sure we were taken care of; and we had both a male and female staff member who would each check in to ask if we needed anything, had any questions, or wanted recommendations. When we needed refills or anything else, they were fast to notice and take care of us. For lunch, I ordered the Farmer Crêpe off the Savory menu. This features a buckwheat crêpe filled with goat cheese, asparagus, spinach, walnuts, avocado and tomato. When it arrived, it was bigger than I expected! Not that I'm complaining... :) The tanginess of the goat cheese was a perfect contrast to the buttery avocado and acidic tomato, while the walnuts provided a good texture contrast to the overall feel of the crêpe. There was a lot going on in each bite, in a good way. For dessert, we ordered two of the Bisous crêpe, which features mango, banana, strawberry, and Nutella and is served with vanilla ice cream. I have made my own crêpes before, and I think I'd rather just buy them from CDLC from now on, especially since there's a Build Your Own Crepe option if I get adventurous. Breaking things down, they do a great job with the crêpe texture: not too hard, not too spongey. The fruit tasted fresh, and there was just the right amount of Nutella with it to complement while not overpowering the flavor to be just one note -- letting me enjoy the variety of sweet and savory in each bite. And speaking of sweet, the vanilla ice cream was the perfect pairing. Ice cream always makes everything better! I've been here for dinner and brunch multiple times and have had consistently great experiences with the food and service. My favorite though is that they have All You Can Eat Mussels and fries every Tuesday night for $35! You can try them with the 4 different broths, but I recommend getting the saffron broth it is superb. Also if you get here earlier before 6pm they have Happy Hour pricing weekdays on wine which ended up only being $8 per glass. Another nice bonus, if you ask them for bread there is no extra charge, unlike most places these days yay!! If you are looking for an authentic Alpine experience, you have to visit Bruno! I had the most incredible Raclette here--the cheese was perfectly melted and served over tender potatoes with delicious cured hams and a fresh salad. It is the ultimate comfort food and exactly what you want when visiting this beautiful region.The highlight of the meal, however, was Bruno himself. He is a fantastic host who clearly takes huge pride in his restaurant and his heritage. He made us feel so welcome and "at home" from the moment we walked in. First time here, though I've approved a few of my former students (Le Cordon Bleu) of mine to work in the Manhattan beach location. The ambiance was nice and inviting. The waitress was very sweet. We chose to sit outside but, unfortunately the heating lamps didn't work, so we sat inside. I love fresh squeezed lemonade so I asked how fresh it was because it's my favorite . She said fresh and they may have made it the night before. I was hesitant, but I still ordered it. Then we ordered the French onion soup, too sweet for my liking, but I was hungry so I ate half the bowel. I tasted the lemons juice that's made in house fresh, however that was not the case. It had a bitter, tangy, too sweet and rancid taste. Definitely past its shelf life. Please ensure the team is date labeling for freshness and test the shelf life . Fresh squeezed lemonade refrigerated can last 2 -3 days only. The waitress apologized and I got lavender latte . We then ordered the caprese salad and a build your own crepe. Russ and I stopped by Crème de la Crêpe for a late lunch and had a really nice experience. The restaurant felt cozy and beautiful. The music was lovely, and I kept catching myself looking at the pretty lights above the bar. We ordered the bolognese pasta and the fondue with bread and apples. The bolognese was really good. The sauce had a deep flavor and tasted like it had been simmering for a long time, and the pasta was cooked perfectly. The fondue was also great. The cheese had such an amazing flavor and was really good with both the bread and the apples. Gauthier took care of us when we were there and the service was impeccable. Every ingredient that was on this plate was just.... Love at first bite. Je t'aime healthy breakfast. And creme de la crepe restaurant. The service was pretty standard! Nothing that would wow me or make me need to comment on. Of course parking can be tricky but it's worth finding to eat here! And the ambiance is a mini France for sure. Well it feels like it. Street parking is pretty much your only option but luckily the parking meters accept coins and the option to pay via a website on your phone which takes credit cards and Apple Pay. Walked up on a Tuesday morning around 1000 and was seated right away. There is the option to sit outside or inside, we opted to sit inside. The menu offers an array of choices and for this visit we decided on breakfast! My husband chose the bisous which is a crepe filled with strawberries, banana, mango, Nutella and served with whipped cream and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. He enjoyed it but mentioned that the fruit is sliced rather thick which he prefers it to be sliced thin. I started with a cappuccino and chose the crab cake benedict - it is served with potato gratin, baby greens, baguette, butter and home made jam. The benedict is one large crab cake topped with two poached eggs and topped with hollandaise. This was DELICIOUS! The crab cake is full of crab meat, the poached eggs were cooked to perfection and the hollandaise sauce is rich, buttery, and smooth, just how I like it! I've seen this place many times on my walks but, only finally stepped in. I had no idea wha I had been missing. We were greeted by such a friendly and knowledgeable young woman who made us feel more like I was coming to someone's house for lunch rather than a cafe. I had a hard time deciding on my order but, ended up having the French onion soup, a chèvre salad and took some bites from my friends crepe. I enjoyed my lunch with a nice glass of wine and finished with a shared creme brulee with a perfectly heated sugar top and espresso. All in all, I'll definitely be coming back again. Nicoise Salad with overly fishy fish and tasteless dressing along with the classic French Sole Filet with buerre blanc? No just melted butter smothering an overcooked filet of something with 3 spears of asparagus that were the highlight of the dish and a square of overly cheesy boxed potatoes gratin. Seasoning? SIL was coming on for a weekend visit and we wanted to maximize the very short time she was here. She had a Saturday morning open so I recommended we have brunch before attending a family gig later in the afternoon. It came down to this place or an Italian spot a few minutes away. Not sure how this won out, but we found ourselves here within an hour of opening time. We decided to sit outdoors because it was such a nice and sunny SoCal day! And since I got to take a Quick Look at the menu before arriving, I knew what I wanted. ESCARGOT: Comes with 6 pieces, so it was a perfect portion for our party of three. They were cooked tender and served in melted butter mixed with what looked like pesto. The butter mix was so good we dipped our leftover bread for some yummy bites! FRENCH ONION SOUP: A must-have for me whenever I see it on the menu. Served piping hot. Had a taste of the broth and cheese and flavor had depth and hearty. I asked for two more spoons to share with my group (because I'm afraid I might eat it all without giving them a taste!) But the spoons took so long, the soup kinda got cold. Still good, though... CRAB CAKE BENEDICT: I normally don't order Benedict's but this got me curious. And I'm glad I did! They use real crab for the whole cake. Didn't have a lot of fillers and seasoned well. The béchamel sauce was tasty but not overpowering. And the poached egg was cooked perfect! Came with a side of arugula salad and potato gratin, both served as palate cleansers. Bread, butter and jam included. There was plenty going on with this plate but all somehow came together beautifully. SAINT PIERRE CRÊPE: Cuzzo's choice of eats. Came with salad and lemon (should you decide to splash the crepe and/or salad with it for addded taste.) I had one bite and k was also sold on this dish. The crepe was fluffy and the fillings (crab and meat) stood out. Delish! BOLOGNAISE BUCKWHEAT CRÊPE: SIL's eats. The filling was deliciously savory, it didn't need the crepe! Also served with a side of salad. This, too, I'd recommend! BRETONNE: Banana and Nutella crepe to share. Loved the fluffy crepe, good amount of Nutella. The banana slice I got was a bit on the raw-ish side, but not detrimental. A good finish to our meals. FOOD: 4.5. Very close to perfect! SERVICE: 3.5. Average at best. Our server(s) seemed a bit all over the place, and maybe they're understaffed? But yeah, they didn't have their own sections. It wasn't a few minutes after we put our drink orders in when another asked us for the same thing. It took too long for the extra spoons to come (so we can share the French onion soup) that the soup got cold. Also took long to get to-go containers. They were quick with the tab, though. The food came out quick, so the kitchen staff is their saving grace (which is the reason for the 0.5 bump.) But overall, table service leaves much to be desired. VALUE: 4. Reasonably priced for the quality and quantity we got. PARKING: Metered street parking only ($1.50/hr - not bad for RB.) It gets busy, more especially on the weekends. Plan accordingly. OVERALL: 4. I ordered a Salmon Benedict - and the healthy portions, perfectly-cooked egg, and rich Hollandaise sauce took me right out of Redondo Beach and transported me to the homey cafes and bistros of Paris. Where to begin. This was the first and last time going here! I went there with my wife because we heard that the food was "really good". The egg that was supposed to be sunny side up came over cooked and hard. Then the waiter asked if we needed any ketchup or hot sauce, we said yes to both..... he forgot. When we complained about the food the waitress was generous about taking it off the bill and offered us a free crepe to make up for the experience. We ordered the free crepe and a second crepe to try different flavors. My wife's came out good, it was a pre selected option that had strawberry, banana and chocolate. I decided to get crazy and order a build your own. Mine was supposed to consist of banana, Nutella, cookie butter, and vanilla ice cream. As you would imagine, the vanilla ice cream would add that creamy delicious refresh to the pallet......... but they forgot it. They also forgot to come back and check on us to make sure we were good. We then got the check passed to us by the waiter who did a drop and go. Now, I wouldn't just write this because of some missed items, especially since they were doing what they could to fix the problem, but here's the kicker.... After waiting 20 mins, I took the bill into pay. I was expecting the place to be busy and full of people. Nope! One guy sitting at the bar. This is a cute small cafe located in the heart of Redondo Beach within walking distance from the beach. My friend and I had a nice long day at the beach and were looking for something lighter to eat. The restaurant ambience is very nice-you can sit outside if you like or inside for slightly more privacy. I ordered a savory crepe. All the savory crepes are made with buckwheat while the dessert ones are made from a more traditional crepe batter. I didn't care for the buckwheat crepe even though I know it's healthier for me. It was very very dry and crunchy and I'm used to a softer texture. Luckily the filling was pretty good with potatoes, eggs, bacon, cheese and mushrooms. It did take quite awhile to get my food-I waited over half an hour and there was only one other customer in the restaurant. The wait staff were very friendly and the view from the cafe was nice. However, the parking is challenging, the savory buckwheat crepes are dry, and the wait for the food is long. I would recommend if you go and don't mind waiting, to order something to drink and get a dessert crepe. read more
