Well... First time here at this "specific" Yellow Vase". Positives.... Clean, spacious, (if you include inside and out), and nice locale... Close to where the wifey wanted to shop, (aka, happy wife, happy life), but I too like the mens Bath & Body products. But I digress... We both got paninis, and in their defense, both were tasty. Me... chipotle chicken, the wife, turkey I think but I have no idea. The "fries or salad option" is offered and me, being the fat effer that I am, chose salad, as did the lovely wifey. Results. Pannini's, i.e. both of them, were very tasty. Not the knock your sock off kick my arse variety, but very tasty. Bread is delicious... That said... here is kicker #1. You are offered a 'Salad or a Fry', with your panini. Again. the both of us, attending to our respective diets, chose the salad option. Well... kick me in the arse and call me a donkey's child because I could have picked more greens outta my teeth after a snack sesh with broccoli after flossing, than this B.S... Again, I digress. What really gets me is the cost of two small, albeit tasty, panini's, that was $54... Really? Call me a cheapskate but I personally believe that $54 should at least give you a little... We came here the day after Christmas for a cozy holiday breakfast, and it was AMAZING! I ordered the bolognese spaghetti, so incredibly yummy. I had no idea they even served pasta, and it did not disappoint! My husband got the chicken crepe, my daughter had the BLT hot panini, and we also shared one of their glazed donuts... soooo good. We sat outside with our fur baby, which made the experience even better. The vibe was warm, intimate, and perfect for the holidays. They also had a huge, beautiful Christmas tree right in front of the restaurant where we took photos--such a fun and festive touch! Disappointing service, bad energy, and pre-made food -- head across the street instead. While this cafe sits in a great location, the overall experience left a lot to be desired. I came in, ordered full food and drinks, and spent money supporting the business. Despite being a paying customer, the interaction was completely unwelcoming. First, the staff asked me to unplug my laptop while I was working. Then, literally the next day, they put up a "No Computers" sign. Talk about a hostile environment for paying guests. On top of that, one of the waitresses had a clear attitude--likely a trickle-down effect from management or ownership putting unreasonable pressure on the staff. The energy here is just off. To make matters worse, the food doesn't justify the treatment. The Chicken Alfredo tasted completely pre-made, and the chicken itself did not taste fresh at all. Pro tip: Save your money and walk across the street to Terranea Resort. Very cute and convenient location with lots of parking and some outdoor seating! The staff were SO kind and friendly-- they even brought us the little plant to take a photo with LOL! I love coming to Yellow Vase! If you're dining in, you order at the counter, get a number, and they'll bring the food out to your table. The interior is always cute and aesthetic, and the vibe makes breakfast feel extra cozy. I got the California omelette and it was pretty solid. The orange juice was about $7 for a small cup, which feels a bit pricey, but I have to have OJ with breakfast so I got it anyway. Overall, the food is simple and delicious, and I love that they open early. Beautiful views! Quick service and delicious food. I loved the thickness of the bacon on the croissant. My son loved the chocolately crepes (there are other flavors too) and he loved how the chocolate melted onto the fruit. You can also swap the sausage for the ham if you order the eggs. I would in the past. They have raised their menu prices to an unprecedented height. The waffle allow is now a deal breaker. It's not by 25¢ or 50¢ it's by a few $'s and they have downsized the waffle to be just a little larger than a fluffy eggo brand waffle. Tossing 4 sliced strawberry on top no whip. When it use to be a mound of strawberry w/whip and butter on the side. It use to have a love vanilla background note to the batter and now it feels like a premade waffle they microwave. No crisp with a soft inside just elastic and doughy. Prices are ridiculous for a walk up order and not have a waitress. You self serve everything. read more

The service was above average, and the space was clean. The bathroom was also quite clean. The food and drinks, however, not so much. The pastry display had flies surrounding them, and when I got my chocolate croissant, there was remnants of another pastry on it. It seemed to be a guava jelly or something. I didn't realize that there were flies on the pastries until after I had ordered, when my friend pointed it out. The coffee was, to be honest, disgusting. I really had to force it down. I drink a lot of coffee and I'm not really too picky about what types, but this was genuinely just coffee flavored milk. There was an odd texture to the coffee as well??? like the milk or espresso had separated or something. I got a latte, a smoothie, and a chocolate croissant and it was over $20. The smoothie was pretty good, but the portion size to price ratio of the drinks was appalling, especially considering the lack of flavor. They could have easily mentioned that when I originally placed my order. In terms of vibes, ambience, and location this has to be one of my favorite brunch spots in all of Los Angeles. I have had better food at other breakfast spots but the scenery here is hard to beat and we honestly had a wonderful Sunday brunch. There are three locations scattered around RPV, this being the most northern and prettiest location. It is located in the back corner of a shopping center tucked away in its own spot underneath a giant tree. They do have indoor seating, but most people choose to sit outside under the tree and in the sun, which is what we did and it was a wonderful experience. You order at the counter inside and then they give you a number and then bring the food to you, it's not a full-service restaurant. Parking is plentiful because they have a large free parking lot attached that is never full. They have a lot of great drinks, pastries, and breakfast items. The portion sizes here are not very large compared to other breakfast spots around town, especially the diners, but they have great flavors and fair pricing. The staff was very polite and all of our items arrived quickly. For this most recent visit I ordered the Eggs Benedict with ham which I thought was good, although the eggs were overdone so they weren't runny at all. Also the side salad was very small and lacked any real flavor. We also ordered a bunch of different pastries and honestly, each one was great. My favorite was probably the strawberry and cheese. Overall one of the best scenery brunch places you can go to in LA and would be a great place to bring someone visiting town. I would recommend and I plan to be back in the near future. read more

I ordered the Alfredo pasta and the pasta was just weird tasting and off putting and chewy and the cheese was just not it. I also ordered a raspberry matcha and that was so powdery that I threw it away. I am not sure what it was but my tummy started to hurt from it altogether and it was room temperature really quick so it was worse. Went here for an early lunch after a hike. You order at the counter and food is delivered. You have to get your own water from a dispenser. My avocado toast was ok, I feel like a more hearty bread would have made it more memorable, it was served on a French baguette . I had scrambled eggs on top and they were very tasty. My partner had a chicken panini, it was tasty. We both had expresso drinks that were excellent. To me, the place could use a little sprucing up, the overall vibe is cheerful and cute but some new paint and better chairs would do wonders, the chairs are a little low for the table height in my opinion. I've been wanting to try this yellow vase location and finally got the chance! Grabbed brunch and we sat outside, it was pretty empty. I tried the chicken panini and it was pretty good. The chicken and pesto were great but I would've loved fresh tomatoes over sun dried, Just a personal preference though! The salad and dressing were great. I also got the iced peppermint mocha which was amazing - so creamy and pretty sweet. My boyfriend got the two by two which came with french toast, eggs, potatoes and bacon. The portion was massive and he said it tasted great. His mom and our neighbor tried the Chinese chicken salad and omelette which they seemed to like as well. Yellow vase has my favorite sandwich in the South Bay. I love this location in PV as the environment is really nice and the staff here are amazing. The service is great, with amazing help if needed. Every time we come we are greeted with this attentive staff. My favorite sandwich is the curry sandwich which comes with salad on the side. The bread is perfectly toasted and the chicken and curry that they put In it is delicious. I've had many sandwiches before but this one is the best by far. I always come back and get it. The omelette I had was fine. I was there before 8:00 AM and placed my order. I was asked to tip and since I was eating in the restaurant I chose the 20% option for tip. The only service was bringing me the plate. There were no other customers present. The person who took my order at the counter never came to see how the food was or to offer a second cup of coffee. We have been to the Yellow Vase in Rolling Hills Estates numerous times. We will go there NO MORE. We last visited on February 20, 2026. The positives: Nice, cheerful decor; well-prepared, fairly good food; clean dining area; polite employees. The negatives: 1. Raised prices by $2. Portions are decent, not generous by any means. In other words, it's EXPENSIVE to eat here. 2. NO HEAT on this chilly day. It was 57 degrees in the restaurant. Outside it was 55 degrees. 3. This time, the restaurant was open by 7 a.m., which is the scheduled time. We usually come at 7 a.m. and have waited 10-20 minutes because the employee is LATE. And, of course, the heat is off. 4. The worst insult: Charging $1.00 for a cup of hot water. Only 1 refill on coffee, and one must bring the cup up to the counter. It is possible that this extra charge has been rescinded. I usually write positive reviews, not negative ones. But my experience at Yellow Vase has been INCREASINGLY POOR. I can no longer patronize this restaurant. Please address some of these issues, i.e. the heat and the charge on hot water. read more

I had a great lunch at this Yellow Vase location today with two friends. We all loved our food: the salmon crepe for me, brioche French toast for one friend, and a sandwich (I forgot to ask which!) with fries for the other friend. The crepe and French toast were a big hit, and my friend loved her fries in particular, which she asked to be made a bit crispy. I sampled them, and they were great! Used to be called Cafe Flowers Bakery, which is still outside on the building, but now renamed to Yellow Vase. Nice display case of calorific goodies and a hearty menu to choose from. We ordered the Mexicana omelette which arrived with rosemary potatoes, salad and 4 slices of French bread. It was unctuously oozing with cheese and very moreish and filling. The chocolate cake was en point and decadent, while the coffees were beautifully presented with floral foam and in nice cups and saucers. The caramel mocha was great in the small size but might be overwhelming in the large, while the decaf latte was just right. We sat in the covered patio area with our doggo under the chair and it was nicely decorated and the staff were quick to delivery drinks and food and friendly. We had a nice brunch here and will definitely return for afternoon tea with cakes or a lunch. read more

Of the 3 pastries I tried, the raspberry one was my favorite. I liked that the mousse wasn't dry. It was topped with a rolled white chocolate piece. It wasn't busy on a Sunday morning when my husband went. I tried the golden turmeric latte, honey vanilla latte, chocolate mousse bar, raspberry mousse bar and lemon tart. The interior's cute with a French cafe feel. There are lots of yellow decor items like flowers, lamps, wall paint, tablecloths, statues and lanterns. I like their commitment to the yellow theme! They have tables both inside and outside. The bad: I burnt my tongue on the latte. The drinks and lemon tart were all sweeter than I'd like.
