For over a year my gals and I have been saying we were going to make it here and finally did. Parking garage is tucked in the just south of the restaurant. They have seating on the patio and inside with both tables and booths or at the bar. The decor is fun with bright vibrant colors and picturesque walls. Food was decent, though basic and (see picture of Truffle Fries, they should have spent a few more seconds in the fryer to get at least a little golden and have some crispiness rather than blanched and lackluster). The Machaca Scramble was the most flavorful and best tasting dish we had at our table as the corned beef hash and eggs were standard (not bad but nothing to Yelp rave about). By far the best part was the Bottomless Mimosas which are offered everyday, not just on the weekends! Big bonus! Our server was attentive and had a happy disposition. I felt Serendipity has so much great potential, between the decor, service and bottomless mimosas I'd imagine they would have more birthdays or group celebrations going on, especially for such a large space. But the vibe was a bit off with the low playing Spanish music, I would imagine if they had more pop music or upbeat music to fit the vibe of the place they'd have more of a fun vibe. Not that there is anything wrong with Spanish music, it just wasn't jiving with the vibe of the place and was so low and not so up beat (romantic Spanish ballads were playing). The laminated menus also gave an old diner vibe instead of trendy "serendipity" vibe. I'll still come back to see if they can match the vibe to the decor and try a few other menu items, but I do hope they up the ambiance. And get that extra star status! read more

A new local restaurant Serendipity, is located on the outskirts of Redondo Beach. The food is a common breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner. Decoration is simply nothing fancy. Our breakfast was good. One thing is certain: this place was nothing special; it's simple food. We did order the spectacular Mimosa for 4 people. It was large. The bad thing is that the glass is full of ice and the Mimosas got watered down, too much. Today Sunday they had a Duet playing music a nice touch, if you're sitting in the back music is hard to hear. My favorite was the Mimosa. Should try it. read more

Serendipity is a newer restaurant that has been in Redondo Beach for @ a year. They have a delicious breakfast menu & also serve lunch/dinner. We enjoy going there for brunch with their bottomless mimosas. They offer $22 bottomless mimosas everyday, not just on the weekend, which I love, because I work most weekends. They also offer @ 6 did juices for their mimosas. They have delicious crepes & corned beef hash. They also offer a pastrami Benedict with a brown gravy dressing that is tasty. The ambience is casual and comfortable with indoor/outdoor covered seating. Plus, dogs are welcome! Our favorite server is Mary. She is friendly & efficient & always has a smile on her face! This restaurant is large and bright with tons of seating. It took over the last restaurant that was here, Ortega 120. The outdoor patio is covered, so it doesn't feel like you're eating outdoors. It's wait to be seated, but the host/hostess asks where you want to sit. The first time I visited, I sat at the corner table indoors. The second time I visited, I sat in the outdoor patio. The food tastes pretty good and healthy. I had the vegetarian omelette on my first visit and egg white omelette, turkey bacon, and fresh fruit on my second. When we returned to retrieve it, the gift had been taken. I asked the bartender for help, and thankfully, a staff member brought it out. However, to my shock, the gift had been opened--the box was torn, and the wrapping was no longer intact. I truly don't understand how or why someone would open a personal gift left unattended for such a short time. This incident really put a damper on what had been an enjoyable experience. While the food and atmosphere were great, this situation was very upsetting. It turned what could have been a 4-star visit into a 2-star one for me, especially as it was my first time dining here. I was in town on my own and wanted some breakfast, so Yelp helped me find this place. I got a Greek omelette with a side of pancakes, and it was very good. It's Father's Day so they had a specific menu and the place was really decked out and decorated for the holiday. I was alone so I sat at the bar. Pros: The portions were VERY large. I easily could've shared this one breakfast item with someone else. As it was I took half of it home for later. The omelette was original - not your every day experience. The ingredients tasted fresh and were a nice combo. It needed a little salt (at least for my taste), but I'd always rather add salt than have something that's too salty where that's the only flavor. The pancakes were thick and fluffy, and definitely better than other restaurant pancakes that I've had. I loved that they have convenient, covered parking for free! The service was friendly and the food came out in a reasonable time given that it was a busy holiday. Cons: It's very busy and loud... it's a family-friendly restaurant but the vibe feels like a club at the same time. Great if you're looking for lively and fun, not great if you're actually wanting to talk to people in your group. I would never take my dad here for a Father's Day breakfast, but for a graduation party it would be great. The seats at the bar are very uncomfortable. Soft but tight and a very short length for your thighs. I'm not a tall person but if I were, I couldn't have sat longer than 10 minutes in that seat. I was there at 11am, and there was an older gentleman down the bar who started talking to me. He was CLEARLY hammered drunk, slurring his words and bleary-eyed. I'm easy going so I humored him and went about paying my bill. But to my horror, I saw him leaving the restaurant for the garage only minutes after I did. He was SO DRUNK that he was unstable walking, and he was heading towards a car! To DRIVE!! HE had definitely been drinking at the bar and by his level of intoxication it couldn't have been for only one drink. I think he was over-served...There is no way that guy should've been allowed to buy his last drink for his safety and that of those around him. I got out of there as fast as I could to avoid being anywhere on the road with this accident-waiting-to-happen. Note: I had looked at other pictures of the menu that had lower prices, so I was a little surprised that the omelette was $23. Serendipity took over the space of Ortega, for those of us who remember that restaurant. First thing about this restaurant that I noticed is that in comparison to Ortega, which had an excellent atmosphere that was very exaggerated and very artsy, this is not the case with Serendipity. They basically turned this restaurant into a coffee shop style atmosphere. I believe that's a mistake. This is a really nice very large space and when it's filled with colored walls and nice tables, it's really an enjoyable space to dine in. As a coffee shop, however, I believe there's something lacking. In terms of their food, it's very good. It's prepared with excellent ingredients, and you can really tell the chef does a nice job in the presentation. The food is good! The main thing I must say about this restaurant, is that they are open early. Currently, they open at 7 AM every day. Which means, you can come in here and grab a great breakfast. More than that, however, there's nobody in here. They have very little clientele, at least in the mornings. So, if you want to have a great breakfast in the South Bay, this is the place to go. Overall, fun restaurant, with some good food. The staff here are all very nice and they do their job very well. If you're in Redondo, this is a new place and It should be on your list to check out. read more

Home of monster mimosas and declocious bites and unique cocktail flair , there is something for everyone. Today I opted for bottomless mimosas for ab90minute period as my plus one doest really drink so the monster mimosa wasn't an option this time. My mixed flavors were a delight. Fresh and bursting with flavor Food was an experience on its own. Everything was delicious and well portioned. I had no complaints to the quality. As a disabled person I felt all seating accommodated any need from mobility aides and all. The outdoor patio is pet friendly for those who seem to not leave pets at home. The patio area was very nice and is covered so hats and sunshades are not needed, but you can still enjoy the fresh air and weather. Customer service is phenomenal from the moment you walk in. Friendly hosts greeted us upon entry, our server just as polite. Because they are fairly new to the south bay unknowingly that I'm familiar with them offered a tour of the venue and personalized recommendations which was amazing all in all. First time to this restaurant. At first I was a little hesitant as there were staff outside the front door and I couldn't tell if they were hosts or not. I was waved inside and the man at the host desk looked at me and said "can I help you?" Which I thought was a weird ask as I was there to eat. Once I was seated I was aware the people next to me were getting frustrated trying to get a server's attention with no luck. A server came to me first and I told her the people next to me needed help. All they wanted was to pay their bill. So frustrating when you can't get help to pay your bill! After that the service was much better, my server took my order and brought my coffee and orange juice quickly. I had to move to a different table because the sun was on the back of my head, and they were very accommodating. A new server took over and she was great, she kept checking on me and I felt much better than when I first got there. The breakfast was good, my eggs were cooked perfectly as was the toast, potatoes and the country fried steak was enjoyable. The fresh orange juice and coffee were good also! If I had a request; it would be for chai tea, which was not on the menu. The live band that is there on Sundays were really good! Very entertaining with great songs and not so loud as to disturb conversations, at least for me outside on the patio. It seems like a very versatile space that can be quiet in the morning and louder in the evenings when they have happy hour. Reservations are easy to make on Yelp and parking is also plentiful and free in the garage next door. Love the parking situation here!! Doesn't get easier than this in Redondo Beach! They have an extensive menu with very typical American diner breakfast and lunch entrees--pancakes, breakfast burritos, waffles, sandwiches, etc. I got the chilaquiles and my friend got their pastrami reuben sandwich which came with what looked like house-made thinly sliced chips. Portions are HUGE here but the food was just mehh okay--average. I also tried their vanilla cappuccino which was pretty good. I noticed they offer bottomless mimosas too if you're interested in that. Service was just okay. For the food and service alone, I would give it 3 stars and probably wouldn't come back. But for the ambience and ease of reservations/parking, I bump it up to 4 stars. They are located in the corner right next to the light. On the right hand side they have a covered parking lot. It was fairly empty during the week. It's a great place for large group. Nice decor. Sat outside on the patio. No music or TV's. I ordered the steak and eggs which were delicious. They give you an option of pancakes or toast which I appreciated. Sunday had a cool blues duo. It's very loud that we have to speak up to have conversations. Price points do not match up with the atmosphere. They were probably understaffed on the weekend we visited as the service was a bit slow and you have to ask to refill your water as the servers are not paying attention and have many tables to tend to. Food was okay yet underseasoned. No salt or pepper shakers on the table either. Parking is easy in the structure next door. The South Bay area has a plethora of dining options. It's conveniently located on PCH in Redondo Beach and has a parking structure next door. The breakfast menu has typical items like eggs, pancakes, waffles, crepes, chilaquiles, and huevos rancheros. They accept reservations, but weren't necessary as we were seated immediately upon arrival. Happy Hour is 2-6 PM daily with $5 wells, margaritas, and beers. Food ranges from Poke Nachos and Asian Chicken Salad to Black Bean Hummus and Tempura Zucchini. We had the "Make It" Combo, Chicken & Mushroom Crepes, Fried Chicken Sandwich & Salad, and Poke Nachos. It was just ok . Not bad but ok. This new restaurant took place of what used to be Ortega 120. I was able to make same day reservations for brunch (that was a plus). The restaurant has an open concept and indoor and outdoor seating. It is quite lively as they are known for brunch and their drinks. I would recommend getting some art in the walls or something to help with the noise echo and loudness. Even the manager suggested it! Our server was great considering he was balcony so many tables! They have good amount of options but I wasn't impressed by any of the food sadly. Here's what we ordered: Sampler platter: 5/10 the onion rings were not great and tasted as if they were battered with pancake batter Dulce de leche pancake combo: 6/10 while there was lots of drizzle, there was not lots of flavor Breakfast burrito: 5/10 cheese crusted and was there even any bacon?! Hamburger omelette: 2/10. Just weird. Ehh we came here after sunrise service for breakfast today. My family and I were not fans of the food. For starters it wasn't busy and our food came out cold. The pancakes were dry and not flavorful both buttermilk pancakes and blueberry. The eggs tasted fake like they were powdered or watered down. Spinach omelet was okay not flavorful and just very basic. Seasoned potatoes with peppers were over seasoned and just okay. Food was overpriced for sure. Ambiance and decor were pretty nice and our waitress was pretty nice, seemed like she knew the food was mid when she was serving it to us. We also waited for our bill to come, we basically had to find her and walk up and pay her that's how long it was. We know we won't back to give it a second chance. Everything went well! The food was delicious... we had 10 ladies and Mari did a great job. We had everything from crepes, omelettes, pancakes, eggs and toast.... just a huge variety and something for everyone's taste buds. There's outdoor seating, the place is attractive and the Happy Hour looks amazing and probably the best value in the South Bay. Ample free parking makes it the perfect place to gather. Lots of tables for small or large parties. Separate checks were not an issue even though we all brought our calculators! Very gracious of Mari. Here's my Greek omelette ...yum! The food was good. The drinks were even better. I don't remember the service name but she was a nice funny ladies. We could tell a joke and she would laugh with input, which may the event fun. The bathroom was having issues when we arrived but the were getting it fixed. They have indoor and cover outdoor seating with heat lamps. Enjoy this. read more

Great Spot for Brunch & Bottomless Mimosas! Came here for an early anniversary celebration with my hubby, and we had a great time! The food was really good, and we took advantage of the bottomless mimosas--definitely strong, barely tasted any juice! At just $20 for 90 minutes, it was a steal. The service was good, and the overall experience was enjoyable. Would definitely recommend for a fun brunch outing! read more
