Biggest and baddest fish sandwich in town!
Dan G.

By far the best fish sandwich in all of Southern California! Stacked high with tomato pickles and lettuce. Also available on sourdough bread, which makes this the absolute king of fish sandwiches! I defy you to find a better fish sandwich. Yellow Basket is the bomb! The staff is extremely friendly and very helpful. Love this place!

The food was delicious! Great service and good coffee. I liked the ambiance and friendly staff as well. Will go back often! Thank you!

Came here for a quick bite eat and was craving a pastrami sandwich. I was shocked of the price but it was worth it. Very good and big sandwich. I highly recommend this spot. Will come back for breakfast lol

Fish n chips and a surprise house salad

The service was great, they do mostly drive-thru orders here at this Carson location. Ample parking, clean bathroom, hot water access. You can tell a lot about a restaurant on the overall functionality of the bathroom and cleanliness. I ordered the fish and chips basket $14.99 The food was great ! Not quite the best quality of fish batter but still very good and cooked well almost like air fry system. The overall basket was great either way a mix of French fries and onion rings. It was paired with a very good carbonated coke and a house salad. For the price and quantity of the meal, it's definitely a hot item to get! I had to take half of the meal home, which was still good for dinner! I'll go again!

Well we were in the area after attempting to attend a funeral. My hubby was starving and mother in law was thirsty. We all agreed to sit down and eat rather than drive through to drive all the way home. The yellow basket has ample parking, restrooms avaiable for patrons. We walked in and immediately felt relief from the scorching temperature here in California. Thank you Yellow Basket ! We ordered food it arrived in a timely manner. Our drinks came first. We enjoyed the atmosphere here while dining in. You can tell they have regulars from the local area. There food was fresh and hot.

Bacon Avocado Cheese Burger 10/10 - full of flavor - good amount of bacon & avocado Zucchini Fries 10/10 - taste fresh - regular size is good enough to share with 2-3 people One of the best mom and pop restaurants there is in town. My family has been coming here for years. The service in this restaurant is really fast and friendly. They have a welcoming environment. You do have to pay extra for condiments. They also have bathrooms which was clean when I was there, just ask for the key:)

Food tastes great. The crispy chicken sandwich is probably the worst for the money and taste ‍. Not sure why this one is so skimpy. 70% Bun

At many brunch restaurants, you can sometimes sense when the basics -- like pancakes or French toast -- aren't given the attention they deserve. They may look appealing on the menu but feel rushed or underwhelming when served. Here, however, the fundamentals are done right. There's care in the texture, balance, and execution, and that consistency makes all the difference. Weekend mornings often find us slightly sleepy and very hungry, searching for somewhere comforting to begin the day. What we want is warmth and familiarity -- something that feels almost as cozy as staying in bed. And when the craving for sweet carbohydrates hits, we're not looking for restraint. We're looking for soft, fluffy, fully satisfying bites. If that's what you're after, this location delivers. You'll likely leave in a better mood than when you arrived.

The food was flavorful (as always). First time trying this…read moreand it didn't disappoint. Savory waffle, moist chicken breast, and a sweet blackberry spread. A great combination together. Clean establishment and nice greeter at the door. ONLY NEGATIVE: The waitress (with the big gold glasses) had a passive aggressive attitude my entire visit. She never refilled my drink, took my menu while I was still reading it, was combative when asked for substituting options, and charged my party for a side of maple syrup without giving us any indication there was a charge. When asked about this, she was non apologetic and seemed to be bothered that we said something about the charge. Needless to say, she wasn't the best waitress.

With that being said, the question becomes why write a review for a place that not only has street clout but also is a darling for foodies? First, any place or person cannot rely on their august reputation to coast to their golden years, especially in a glut like LA's dining scene. An eatery must always maintain itself with current times and update its eats and design/vibe to remain competitive lest their sheen and luster fade. And thus, I add to the rose petals thrown at this place's feet but also challenge their aesthetic because I found it a bit disjointed--- like a ruby red rose whose stem is made out bark and twig. I had only heard good things about this place and decided to try it with my friend Alexa. She and I had agreed to meet there at 11:00 but I know enough about brunch experiences at celebrated places to go there early or else we might endure a wait that kills a good time. Yes, I would wait for the both us to avoid this possible pitfall. I waited 45 minutes in the line to order. By the time I got close to the register, Alexa arrived. We decided to split the chicken and waffles and also the skillet. She wanted to find a table, but I explained to her that there was a sign I saw as I waited that explained that patrons should not to find their own tables, staff will help them find one. We also got the smashed potatoes and each of us got a coffee. When I was there, waiting, I enjoyed seeing the emblems in red. For instance, I clipped the red door that I passed to get into the joint. It was the threshold that moved me from a line waiter to near customer. And thus this shade of red becomes that much more precious. The rose red was more pronounced and literal in some of the exterior walls of the joint. I clipped a rose silhouette that was precious, and kind of defining of the motif of the place. But it also had mentions of the movie of its a wonderful life. For example, before I got to the cashier I saw the phrase, "every time a bell rings an angel gets its wings." In back of me there were several photos from the film. Now, I have never seen the flick so perhaps roses are predominant in the movie. One of the staff members said that Zuzu was the dog in the film. To make it abundantly clear, I am not sure how red roses connect to a Yuletide favorite. Perhaps the answer lies in the film. But for me on this day, the two primary anchors of design were in competition and not not in cohesion. Perhaps, if the red roses were winter blue the connecting tissue would be easier to understand. The food was strong and easy to enjoy. What surprised me is that I expected to enjoy the waffle and chicken plate more than than skillet but I enjoyed the latter more. The skillet had those fluffy eggs that are made with milk or cream or bliss from a bovine. Now true, there is not much complexity in the dish, but the dish was something basic done extremely well, which is a prize to the patrons. I guess atop of all I could write would be that the skillet had familiar flavors- like cheese, and sausage, and garnish- but elevated to delicious comfort. The waffle and chicken plate was made scrumptious by the maple butter. By the time I got to the chicken and waffle the chicken had lost its fried crisp. The flavor of the batter was there 1000% but without the fried taste the chicken suffered. It was my fault. I did not wait for my food, my food waited for me and in that span of time it had lost its umph! like many do when they wait too long for someone they anticipate. The mashed potatoes were also an excellent bite. Again, familiar, not innovative, but a strong showing of a classic. I particularly loved the well balanced execution of fluff inside and the crisp of the potatoe outside. The smash in this plate was a solid yum. Alexa and I sat outside, right next to the patio, and enjoyed all of the dishes to a good extent. This place definetely offers great classics, with some modern touches. It is an easy answer to where should we go to brunch on a lazy Sunday when you have time to spare.

In terms of layout, this restaurant has a number of tables on their interior. They also have several tables outdoors along their glass line walls. This is a full service restaurant. If you want to come in for a meal, they direct you to a table, you choose what you want from the menu, and they come and take your order. Simple as that. Or, you can get it to-go as many of their customers do. In terms of their food, it's all very well prepared and really tasty. Again, the food at this restaurant revolves around French cuisine. So, it has that nice international flavor to it. Plus, they also have a nice selection of wine and a few other alcohol based beverages. In terms of parking, they have a small parking lot in front of the business. Please note, that this parking lot can get crowded and sometimes it is kind of a mess to go in and out of. But, my secret is, whatever this is the case, I park across the street the at the Torrance Crossroads shopping plaza. You know, where the Home Depot and all those other businesses are located. Then, it's just a quick walk across the street and you don't have to deal with any of the weird parking situation. Overall, this is a great café. Fun place to eat.
