Great for parties! Big shout out and thank you to Willy, Jake and the rest of the staff at Stonefire. We had a big family party here this past weekend, and it was a huge success. We ordered roughly 7 of their Stimulus Package meals, and that fed about 25 of us. Willy helped us place the order a head of time, so when we arrived, everything was just a ready to go, yet still hot/fresh out of the kitchen. Jake and crew were attentive and ready to help out whenever/wherever necessary. Every team member that brought out food and/or helped us remove empty plates was very friendly and accommodating. Thanks again Stonefire, we will be back again soon! read more

I ate here for the first time today. It was okay, but not great. The ambiance in the restaurant is pretty nice. The staff was friendly. The prices are definitely fair for a restaurant in Southern CA. The main reason I deducted two stars is some of the food quality was severely lacking. First, the garlic mashed potatoes were definitely super old and likely reheated many times. While they tasted okay, there was a thick dark brown hard crust on a big portion of them. Kind of like they have been cooked/reheated in a giant pan, the bottom layer had burnt, and they still scooped that out and served it to customers. It's pretty crazy because they could've just not put that in the bowl and I would've been fine. Also, I'm not sure about the green onions they put on them, that seems kinda odd. The pulled pork sandwich is what caused me to deduct another star. The bun was just like they pulled the bun out of a bag from the store and served it as is. It wasn't buttered or toasted or anything. It was just a very plain bun. There is not a lot of meat on the sandwich either. So when you bite into it, 80% of what's in your mouth is unseasoned plain bun. If they would've at least done something to the bun, the sandwich would've been a lot better. I think 3/5 stars is the perfect score for this place. I will likely try it again, but if the food quality is not better next time, it will be my last. read more

Just want to start by saying, I love Stonefire. I've been going to Stonefire for 10+ years with my family (Pasadena, Valencia, West Hills), so I know exactly what it's supposed to taste like. This Torrance location? Not even close. Service was great, staff was nice and the place looks good. That's where the positives end unfortunately. The food was honestly terrible. -Mashed potatoes tasted straight out of a packet--gooey, liquidy and cheap. -Breadsticks were weirdly loaded with Parmesan and missing the usual garlic flavor. -Salad was chopped into oblivion no reason. -The tri-tip easily the worst I've ever had from Stonefire. Rubbery, badly seasoned, and felt like low-quality meat. Completely different from what they serve at other locations. -BBQ sauce was off. Way too much black pepper to the point it made me cough. It's definitely not the original sauce. This didn't feel like Stonefire. It felt like a completely different restaurant trying to pass as Stonefire. Really disappointing. read more

I had a good experience at Stonefire! We had the delicious pizza special that included a personal pizza, side salad and dessert. Everything tasted great, and the service was friendly and welcoming. Definitely a place I'd recommend to anyone looking for a tasty meal. This location is clean and the parking is plentiful. I'll definitely be coming back! read more

This was our first visit to Stonefire Grill, and it turned out to be a delightful experience and I like the atmosphere, You order at the counter when you walk in, employees were where helpful ,then they give you a vibrating pager so you can grab a seat while your food is prepared. We ordered a $13.99 personal meal. My wife had the mac & cheese with a salad, and I had the combo pizza with a Caesar salad. We added two drinks for $1.99 each and shared a nutty coleslaw. I was surprised at how large the "personal size" mac & cheese was -- it was very generous. We ended up sharing the pizza, mac & cheese, and coleslaw and still had plenty of food. The meal also came with two personal-size carrot cakes, which we took home for the next day. Even sharing just one was more than enough. Everything was delicious, but the carrot cake really stood out. Super moist, full of carrots and chunks of pineapple, and topped with an amazing cream cheese frosting. The menu says it's made from scratch, and it definitely tasted homemade. Definitely recommend! **After reading some of the 3 and 1 reviews, I'm hoping to have an equally positive experience on my next visit. read more

My sister took my for my Birthday lunch and what a great meal and quiet vibe. We had BBQ chicken, Brisket, cornbread casserole, cilantro lime rice and Cesar salad. All of this meal was good. The meat was tasty, chicken was tender, Cesar salad was on point and the rice yummy. The cornbread casserole was a little dry and not hot enough. Overall very good and the place was very nice and clean. We forgot our breadsticks so they give us a few on the way out! I'll be back! read more

Been here 3 or 4 times since moving to South Bay, including one that was a family takeout at Thanksgiving, and never had a bad meal here. The personal chicken breast meal is so moist, and carrot cake is so delicious (big enough for 3 people). It's one of my favorite eateries in South Bay. I'm always in a good mood after eating here. read more

I was honestly surprised to find a Stonefire Grill right here in the Torrance area, but I'm so glad I did. The inside looks brand new and it's a really pleasant spot to sit down and eat. We went for the $13 meal special, which is a steal. It came with: * Rigatoni (perfectly cooked) * Salad * Dessert (the perfect finish!) We also added a fountain drink for just $1.99 and scored a 12" pizza for 50% off. You really can't beat that value. The food quality is super consistent with the Pasadena location, so you know exactly what you're getting. Service was on point and there is plenty of parking, which is a huge relief for this neighborhood. Definitely adding this to the regular rotation! read more

The Stimulus Package family meal is an unbeatable best deal in town $43.99 that includes: Tri tips or chicken, garden salad, pizza with 2 toppings, and breadsticks. This special deal from the pandemic days is not on the menu and they happily provide. We get this all the time. The service is always prompt and courteous, and the location is spacious and clean. We had a holiday party where we took over a few tables and they were good to help making it happen. Important tip: join or rejoin their loyalty program. The old card based system was messy, and the new phone number based system is easy and highly recommended! You accumulate points quickly, today, I got a $10 off, sweet! read more

I used to only visit for their lunch special which was around 13 more or less. A choice of pasta, 2 bread sticks and a side. Isn't bad but kitchen staff occasionally has a nasty habit of cutting your portions where I had to send items back for a redo. One of their waiters who brought out my order even admits it seemed a little light as he brought it back to kitchen. It became a regular thing that portions aren't consistent every other visit and very tiring. Folks are friendly enough and never had an issue there, but portions was always a hassle to constantly be disappointed in. I took a few photos to prove my point. Sometimes it arrives as it should and other times it falls flat. Very greasy too at the bottom of bowl. I ordered the extra chicken on top of pasta and thought it would've came grilled. I asked the staff I don't want anything burnt on the chicken and they all looked at me completely blank. Was confused why they all hesitated to respond and one replied, "Don't worry about it. It won't come burnt." Well, he's right because it came as precooked cold dices like the ones from the grocery store! Check out the photos for yourself and avoid paying for this scam. Added another pic of the grilled chicken which is their most expensive lunch special. 14 or 15 usd and the portion was ridiculous. Please check for yourself and maybe lunch specials aren't their specialty. read more

3.75* Went here for dinner while visiting family out in the South Bay. This was given as an option along with 2 other favorites from childhood. Decided to go here because I've never been and wasn't familiar. This place is very interesting and unique to some degree. It gives very much a family atmosphere, come in, sit down, and enjoy your meal. While also giving off fast casual, eat your meal and be on your way type vibes. So, that threw me off a bit. You come in look at the menu, order your food, take your number, and find a seat. Again, the atmosphere is fighting itself. I suggest that you look at the menu online prior to going. Once you're there, standing in line, and other people around you waiting for you to order, and they know what they want, but you don't is pressure. So, you let them go ahead but it's your first time so you're still overwhelmed but you also don't want to just let everyone else go ahead. So, it was decided to order a family style dinner. We decided on the salad, tri-tip, mashed potatoes, pesto pasta, and bread sticks. I also ordered a rack of baby back ribs because I was in the mood for those. Overall, it was a nice meal. Everything tasted good. My personal least favorite item was the mashed potatoes. They were fine, but I bit on the dry side. Maybe reheated for service. My favorite item was the pear, arugula, and Gorgonzola cheese salad. The proteins were good. I'm not a pasta fan but the pasta people at the table were satisfied with it. Overall, knowing what I know now I'd definitely go back and try some different items. Not a bad experience, but a learning experience. read more

Walked in and had a nice young lady to take my order. At this restaurant you order first and pay. Then you get your drinks, silverware, and sit down. For lunch, I had a BBQ chicken sandwich with roasted vegetables. You get to pick one side with the sandwich. I then walked to the back to get my drink, which was a Diet Coke. I got silverware, napkins and sat down at a nice booth. The ambience of the restaurant is really nice. It's a large restaurant and plenty of space to get a table or booth. The food came out very quickly, and I was amazed with the presentation sandwich and how it tastes. It was delicious. The employees were all very friendly. Ate here for Mother's Day with my family. We ordered our food, then went to go get drinks, and I saw both ice machines were covered in mold, visible mold all the way to the end of the plastic. This shows that they do not ever clean their ice machines. We made a complaint to the front desk and swapped out our plastic cups for water bottles. They did nothing even let about 25 people still get ice and drink mold and bacteria. I got up to take these pictures and videos and then manager approached me asking what was wrong and I told him this is unacceptable and it would make somebody really fucking sick. Now they're all attempting to wipe it clean when the whole thing needs replaced. EAT AT HOME it's the safest. read more

Though I probably only pop in once or twice a year, I do enjoy Stonefire Grill. For this Torrance location, I would sometimes come here with the family and order the big meals. I used to visit the Lakewood location a little more frequently when the Roasted Cauliflower Pita was still on the menu. It was my favorite thing to order! Sadly, it was removed and my vegan options were reduced. That said, there are still some solid vegan options marked on the menu (hello Cartwheel Salad!) and vegetarian options that can easily be veganized. One of my favorite things to get here is the Superfood Fiesta Bowl. it's a chopped salad with quinoa, kale, black beans, roasted chickpeas, red cabbage, roasted corn, red onion, tomato, cilantro, and topped with guacamole. It also comes with tortilla chips. Usually it comes with and sriracha ranch but I like to swap it out for chili lime vinaigrette. The personal size is fills me up with a little bit for a snack-sized leftovers. Love all the colors in here too! https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/stonefire-grill-torrance-4?select=pPpVLnS0FMT6OFwS1DCLRQ&userid=53dkR4-xyhjsCVHfrwiGaQ During my last visit, the younger staff seemed to be unsure how to answer some of my questions and required a bit of guidance on how to provide solutions. But I don't fault them at all for that because they were still polite. Later, another gentleman who may have been a manager came to check on us later during the meal to make sure we were happy with our meal. I appreciate the great service :) read more

The food was delicious! I was pleasantly surprised at how good everything was. The manager made it a point to come by and check in on us and ensure we knew we could stay as long as we wanted. Carry out down to a science. We ordered the two whole tri tip combo which included breadsticks and Caesar salad. It was approx $110.00 and able to feed 6. I would say that it was about right for portions and price for six ppl. I was impressed by the Carry out system they had in place. Really dialed in and professional. Food was fresh and the hot food items were still hot. As to the complaints about tri tip, keep in mind that tri tip generally is a leaner cut than say a ribeye with rich marbling. Hence the chew is going to be meatier. If you want softer texture u will have to go with rare or medium rare at most. We got medium and it was good for our family. (I prefer medium rare but my family likes medium well so we compromised.) In conclusion. The service was great. The price to value was great. And the quality of the food was great. Is it fine dining? No, but that is not what this restaurant is supposed to be. Casual food for the fam and if they continue to keep up the professional service we will be back. read more

We stopped in before a movie and did not realize it's more of a cafeteria style restaurant. You order when you arrive and the food is just mediocre. Still bomb!! The food has not changed. The manager Willie came over and asked how the food was and I told him...still without a doubt, the best bbq chicken breast out there! And please make sure to get extra sauce on the side...you're welcome! The service was excellent from the time we walked in. The environment was clean and I noticed staff immediately cleaned/cleared tables. We ordered from their lunch specials. We both ordered the bbq chicken breast, because we couldn't resist. For sides, we got the stone fire beans and the roasted vegetables, plus you get two breadsticks. Pro tip: Put some of that bbq sauce in the beans! Again, you're welcome! We have been coming to this place for large dinners for many years because they serve family style and have large booths and can cater to large parties. Sad to say, we can see the cost of living in Los Angeles effecting restaurants. Less diners and lower quality beef. The medium rare tri-tip was just too chewy. Ribs and Salad were good. Bread Sticks seemed different than previous trips. Like they were warmed up from a box instead of baked on the premises. We tried the cornbread casserole and didn't know how to eat it. It had 4 clumps on butter. Were we suppose to mix it before serving. It was a dry casserole. Maybe we needed more butter so everybody could get a clump of butter. Our bill was about $160 for 6 people, so $25 per person is a reasonable cost in today's economy. We get what we pay for is the saying. I don't know if Stonefire should raise prices and keep the beef quality up or lose customers who don't want to order the beef again. Tricky dilemma. One thing that was surprising was the food came out really fast. I don't know how they cooked a med rare Tri-tip that fast. Ribs are always cooked in advance, but a med-rare Tri-tip shouldn't be sitting around. My guess is the tri-tips are slow baked to a med rare temp and then flash grilled over flames to brown the outside and served quickly. I don't know if that process causes the meat to be chewy or if the grade is select instead of choice. Needless to say, we will be reluctant to try the tri-tip again... maybe the Restaurant Again. Sad. read more

Go to have lunch approximately 30 min after they open. One family ahead of us. Took awhile for anyone to come to the register. Manager is yelling that someone will be there soon. Girl comes to counter and proceeds to tell us, before we order, that we need to be warned that our food will not be ready for "30 plus minutes" because they are busy getting take out orders ready. Seriously? We walk out. Probably last time we go to this restaurant. Given my last review and the fact that the manager sent me an email asking for my address to send us a gift card, which never came, there are some questionable issues here. I mean you cannot tell me those 'Takeout" orders were not placed in advance. Management should have been prepared for this. To think it is okay to "warn" guests that they would have to wait longer for their food to be ready is just unacceptable in my opinion. read more

Stone Fire is usually a great spot to get food for small get togethers. Unfortunately huge disappointment 2 days before Christmas. The "feast" was below standard, looked like scraps of everything. Extremely disappointing experience at Stonefire Grill. I called ahead and placed a family meal order over the phone. After everything was finalized, I asked about the military discount. The employee told me it would be 50% off my order. I was surprised and specifically asked again because it sounded too good to be true. She confirmed that was correct. I then asked if my daughter could pick up the order using my military ID. The employee said no, I needed to be there in person to verify my identity. Because of the significant discount I was told I would receive, I changed my plans and went to pick up the order myself. When I arrived, my order wasn't ready, the restaurant appeared disorganized, and employees were running around trying to keep up. After finally receiving my order, I went to pay and presented my military ID. At that point, I was told the discount did not apply to my order and was only valid on certain meals. I explained exactly what I had been told on the phone, but the manager was completely dismissive. Her response was essentially that they couldn't honor what their employee had promised. The only solution offered was a few dollars off breadsticks. When I suggested that staff needed better training so customers aren't given incorrect information, the manager's attitude was basically "too bad," and she walked away without attempting to resolve the issue. The issue isn't that I didn't get 50% off. The issue is that I was given incorrect information, changed my plans based on that information, and then was treated as if it was my problem when their staff made the mistake. Poor communication, poor customer service, and an extremely disappointing response from management. read more
