I've been eyeing this place for a while and have finally gotten a chance to go. It's about 22 dollars for all you can eat and I think the price is great! There are a lot of options and overall the food is pretty good. I'd definitely be back! They give you some rice for the table and some bread as well. They also have jello, brownies and ice cream for dessert. The service is also fast and efficient and overall again great at what they are doing. The place wasn't too packed for a Saturday night, but I will say it was running low on few things like the beef. But they filled it up on the second round we went back up. And it was a little messy. There's no guidance on how to make your bowl. Better Mongolian BBQ places will have displays with recommendations on what to add and how much. Not this place. Many of the sauces arent labeled so you're likely going to pour a mysterious concoction into your noodles. For my family and I, we tried our best to figure it out but we ended up with bland bowls. I started my love of Mongolian bbq restaurants while a UCLA student (Gotta love Mongol's). When I moved to the South Bay, there aren't many options. I've been coming to Mongol King for a decade or more, mainly because the next closest Mongolian BBQ is in the mall's food court and the next one is all the way in Manhattan Beach. The food options are okay but this place has definitely gone downhill over the years. You get your bowl full of meats (beef, chicken, turkey, pork, or lamb), and then top it with veggies, noodles and ladles of "flavoring." They used to have directions on how much flavoring to use based on your bowl size but that was taken down. Most of the labels have worn away. The noodles seemed to cut into smaller pieces (not sure if that was intentional but it makes it harder to pile up the noodles). They used to have egg rolls and real wontons (with the tiniest chunk of chewy meat in it) at the "appetizer bar" but that's been replaced with wonton chips that are either overcooked, stale, or taste of old fryer grease. The Chinese chickenless chicken by salad is still sad. I also want to say they used to serve a cup of ramen broth (soup) but no more with the meal. The sesame flat bread is still there although, I think the consistency on the bake varies every time I go there. The bowl of steamed white rice is still overcooked and I suspect gets recycled. Dessert is watermelon slices, brownies, and soft serve ice milk. They got a fancier machine that does 2 flavors but the mix they use makes two flavorless soft serves. The brownies used to be Ghirardelli but now i suspect it's some generic brownie mix that's less flavorful. There are still two-three employees (one who is the manager-server, and two of the same cooks) who have been there for ages. They are always kind. No complaints. The restaurant decorates are sparse. The place, except the veggies/noodle party of the buffet, seem to be clean. It's $20-23 pp (kids are ~$10 less). Bottom line, while I be back? Yes, since the staff is nice and it's filling. It's not fancy. The kids like it since it's customizable. Not much more to say. read more

The Yelp takeout menu mentioned it included 2 sesame biscuits, but they may have forgotten to include them. Overall, I suggest going to a different Mongolian restaurant, like the one at Galleria Mall or Del Amo Mall. They always seem short staffed, the meat / vegetable bar is generally a mess and running low on meat and popular ingredients, and you'll usually wait half your meal to get rice and biscuits delivered. With that said, the cooks do a good job, there's generally no wait, and it's the only show in town outside of the food court Mongolian BBQ at Del Amo Mall. So, I still find myself coming back. I've been coming here for a while. I think everyone knows this place is good so I won't go too far into detail about the food. I definitely love that you can put as much of whatever sauce you want, that's super cool. The main reason for this review is that I wanted to highlight Brian as just being a really good employee. It was pretty busy when I got here and Brian was non stop. Bussing tables, seating guests, refilling the meat... you get the picture. Whenever he'd walk by my table in this frantic state he would always briefly stop and ask us in a very friendly tone, "do you guys need anything?" He was awesome. We had not been to Mongol King since last year. Tonight 4 of us had dinner there. Everything was fresh and clean. The food was great and service was excellent. It's a fun experience choose the ingredients and take it over to the cooks at the big wok. They cook it and serve it back to you on a plate. At the table there is rice and these puffy bread rolls. Very good. To finish off the meal they have jello, brownies and vanilla ice cream. This is one of our favorite spots in the South Bay. Go there you won't be disappointed and you will not leave hungry. read more

The food was ok. Mongolian BBQ isn't exactly ever gourmet. Pick what you want throw it in bowls and let them sweep. The ingredients seemed fresh. Their biggest problem was they were trying to crowd the griddle grill, so there was no time for them it to clean behind each pile. Every separate order was getting the flavor and burnt residue from their proceeding order. They should clean it before every order. This makes me sad. We used to enjoy Mongol King (and Big Wok before it in the same location). The only real "pro" these days are AYCE and the fluffy sesame bread. We were there are 7 on a Saturday. There were no egg rolls or wontons. The meat bins (except for chicken) were mostly empty. Just about every vegetable had large pieces of other vegetables mixed in. Most of the sauce containers were empty except for garlic, curry and the mega-hot dragon sauce. Oh, I forgot the random noodles strewn everywhere. The cooks are nice. They used to offer a unique cabbage salad. That was not there. The wontons were now chips. No instructions as to how to mix the sauces. (Which had lots of debris from sloppy diners.) This place is fine for what it is-an opportunity to get a little meat and a lot of veggies cooked on a huge slab with sauces of your choice. You'll want to add a lot of sauce as they are very light in flavor. You also get a container of rice delivered to your table so go easy on the noodles and save room for the protein & nutrients. There was a kind of sad looking "salad bar" with a big tub of what looked like iceberg salad premix and a few dessert options (Jello & brownies) and and ice cream machine right near there. It did not look appealing enough to try. The vegetable options were pretty good and most looked recently purchased from one of the local produce vendors. Meat was pretty thin & a bit frozen but a little less meat in our diets is probably a good thing. They apparently have an AYCE option and if you're looking to bulk up or have just burned a lot of calories at the gym this option will probably great because it's an affordable way to get most of your major food groups. Was so excited to grab some food to go here and ended up so disappointed. I love a good Mongolian BBQ and I am completely aware that overall, the flavor was in my hands. However, so much more came into play here. I made my bowl as most people do at Mongolian BBQ, but the big problem here was the hot walk. It was "cleaned" right before my meal and all I could taste and see were charred flecks all over my meal. The burnt, charred taste my meal had picked up from the recently cleaned wok was so strong I threw out my meal. On top of that, it was so dry, despite my bowl being filled with liquid, because the cooks never added additional liquid to the cook top. It was like taking a bite full of dust.
