Good food, great staff, nice ambiance for a quick lunch or dinner. We went for dinner and the ingredients were fresh. I learned how to mix the sauces to make the meal very tasty. read more

Love that we can choose the amount of food to consume, and the ingredients and all the fixing to compliment our dishes. Meat choices range from beef, lamb, chicken, turkey, or tofu. Your food is prepared right in front of you. There is an option for 1 meal order or all you eat. My combo included beef mixed with chicken, noodles, zucchini, scallions, and lots of delicious fresh mushrooms. Finish off with the dragon oil and spicy sauce, just enough yo have a balanced flavor read more

I didn't get to try the food because I came in at 8;05pm on a Sunday and I was told that I could only get take out because they close at 8:30. Online and the sign outside the door clearly says 9pm. I'm a little disappointed because I drove from Long Beach to try this. read more

Love this place and have been going for years! Mongol King offers a wide array of fresh meats (beef, chicken, turkey, pork) and vegetables. Unlike most Mongolian style BBQ's, Mongol King also includes fresh crisp green salad, egg rolls, sesame rolls, and fried wonton skins. Additionally, they include AYCE desserts too! They have a soft serve ice cream machine, fresh baked brownies and a variety of flavored jello. The food and service are fantastic! They are open daily and lunch is a few bucks cheaper than dinner. If you love fresh, healthy and delicious food, then Mongol King will become your go to spot! read more

So, my husband and I were on a quest for the perfect lunch spot with the kids--because let's be real, feeding a family is like a scavenger hunt for a magical place that serves food without the stress. We stumbled upon this all-you-can-eat noodle joint for $19.99 (kids eat for just $12.99, because apparently, they know how to negotiate). It was buffet style, and they cooked the food right in front of us, just like at that Mongolian BBQ in the mall where you pretend you're a chef for a minute. Spoiler alert: I'm not cut out for it. There is a server, the place is spacious and we got seated at a booth. Anyway, the noodles were delicious, but we definitely didn't stop there. We dove into the soft serve, brownies, and jello like we hadn't eaten in days. At this point, I think we all rolled out of there. Who knew a noodle buffet could double as a cardio workout? read more

I've been eyeing this place for a while and have finally gotten a chance to go. It's about 22 dollars for all you can eat and I think the price is great! There are a lot of options and overall the food is pretty good. I'd definitely be back! They give you some rice for the table and some bread as well. They also have jello, brownies and ice cream for dessert. The service is also fast and efficient and overall again great at what they are doing. The place wasn't too packed for a Saturday night, but I will say it was running low on few things like the beef. But they filled it up on the second round we went back up. And it was a little messy. Other than that a great experience and am happy I finally got to go! read more

I door dashed this place. I'm sure it would have been a better experience to of gone in but I was very satisfied with my food when it got delivered. I wish there was more options but I can't complain, next time I'm in the mood for Mongolian I'd order again or go in person. read more

It's in a location that's somewhat easy to miss but a gem of a place. The selection of meats and veggies is perfect but all of the customizable sauces are what make this so very tasty. The chefs that prepare your food are awesome and cook everything perfectly and it's super reasonable for AYCE. Folks are super nice and on top of it. A regular weekly destination for a delicious and healthy treat. Bonus, you can definitely make a keto friendly meal here too!!!!!!! read more

Amazing food and the experience was great I love how they cook the food on the grill and the variety was easy

If you're looking for a Mongolian BBQ place KEEP LOOKING. 2 stars because of friendly staff and available meats, veggies and fixins. But this place is TIRED. And theyre charging $26.99 for AYCE for the noodles (realistically, how many times are you going to make a bowl of noodles?), Asian salad at bar, pretend Jello-o and cubes of a chocolate/brownie mix. There's no guidance on how to make your bowl. Better Mongolian BBQ places will have displays with recommendations on what to add and how much. Not this place. Many of the sauces arent labeled so you're likely going to pour a mysterious concoction into your noodles. For my family and I, we tried our best to figure it out but we ended up with bland bowls. I understand everything is expensive these days but I felt absolutely screwed over after paying about $100 for a family dinner. We should've just gotten sushi. read more

I started my love of Mongolian bbq restaurants while a UCLA student (Gotta love Mongol's). When I moved to the South Bay, there aren't many options. I've been coming to Mongol King for a decade or more, mainly because the next closest Mongolian BBQ is in the mall's food court and the next one is all the way in Manhattan Beach. The food options are okay but this place has definitely gone downhill over the years. You get your bowl full of meats (beef, chicken, turkey, pork, or lamb), and then top it with veggies, noodles and ladles of "flavoring." They used to have directions on how much flavoring to use based on your bowl size but that was taken down. Most of the labels have worn away. The noodles seemed to cut into smaller pieces (not sure if that was intentional but it makes it harder to pile up the noodles). They used to have egg rolls and real wontons (with the tiniest chunk of chewy meat in it) at the "appetizer bar" but that's been replaced with wonton chips that are either overcooked, stale, or taste of old fryer grease. The Chinese chickenless chicken by salad is still sad. I also want to say they used to serve a cup of ramen broth (soup) but no more with the meal. The sesame flat bread is still there although, I think the consistency on the bake varies every time I go there. The bowl of steamed white rice is still overcooked and I suspect gets recycled. Dessert is watermelon slices, brownies, and soft serve ice milk. They got a fancier machine that does 2 flavors but the mix they use makes two flavorless soft serves. The brownies used to be Ghirardelli but now i suspect it's some generic brownie mix that's less flavorful. There are still two-three employees (one who is the manager-server, and two of the same cooks) who have been there for ages. They are always kind. No complaints. The restaurant decorates are sparse. The place, except the veggies/noodle party of the buffet, seem to be clean. It's $20-23 pp (kids are ~$10 less). Bottom line, while I be back? Yes, since the staff is nice and it's filling. It's not fancy. The kids like it since it's customizable. Not much more to say. read more

The food was alright. I've had better Mongolian food for waaaay cheaper. I paid $33 for a plate, side of rice and a drink. The Yelp takeout menu mentioned it included 2 sesame biscuits, but they may have forgotten to include them. The menu also didn't mention that it came with rice otherwise I wouldn't have ordered the side of rice. Overall, I suggest going to a different Mongolian restaurant, like the one at Galleria Mall or Del Amo Mall. The food at the other locations are more flavorful and give you more food for less money! read more

This place is located just below the palo verde peninsula. The service is hit or miss. The place needs some cleaning and renovation. Options are limited and surfaces were not clean. It's been there for years and the food is good. They are also very nice there and for an extra $3 you can grab all you want instead of trying to cram everything in one bowl. I only gave it four stars because there were a few gnats around the veggies but that isn't necessarily their fault or a deal breaker for me. Overall it's a good meal when you don't know what you want and they have tofu and veggies if you don't feel like eating meat or are a vegan. read more

Great food and ambiance. Service was good. I like how customizable you can get with your food.

Mongolian BBQ at its most average. This place used to be pretty great, but it's taken a slide. They always seem short staffed, the meat / vegetable bar is generally a mess and running low on meat and popular ingredients, and you'll usually wait half your meal to get rice and biscuits delivered. With that said, the cooks do a good job, there's generally no wait, and it's the only show in town outside of the food court Mongolian BBQ at Del Amo Mall. So, I still find myself coming back. A ton of room for improvement and I hope it can return to its former glory. read more

We have been searching for a new Mongolian bbq since the one we used to go to is now something else. We live out of state and while visiting just happened to find it. The food was fantastic. The only negative is their website says the all you can eat mongo feast is 12.99; on this site it says $21.99; and we were charged 24.99. read more

I've been coming here for a while. I think everyone knows this place is good so I won't go too far into detail about the food. I definitely love that you can put as much of whatever sauce you want, that's super cool. The main reason for this review is that I wanted to highlight Brian as just being a really good employee. It was pretty busy when I got here and Brian was non stop. Bussing tables, seating guests, refilling the meat... you get the picture. Whenever he'd walk by my table in this frantic state he would always briefly stop and ask us in a very friendly tone, "do you guys need anything?" He was awesome. I worked in the food industry for a while and rarely see this level of hard work and friendliness. Truly just felt the need to highlight a good employee. read more

We had not been to Mongol King since last year. Tonight 4 of us had dinner there. Everything was fresh and clean. The food was great and service was excellent. It's a fun experience choose the ingredients and take it over to the cooks at the big wok. They cook it and serve it back to you on a plate. At the table there is rice and these puffy bread rolls. Very good. To finish off the meal they have jello, brownies and vanilla ice cream. This is one of our favorite spots in the South Bay. Go there you won't be disappointed and you will not leave hungry. read more

Staff was nice and friendly. Not the cleanest buffet area but that's how most self-serve spots are, cos everyone overflows their food bowls! Food was good for the all-you-can-eat price. This spot also offers free appetizer, and a few deserts too, including soft serve ice cream! I would come again when I'm feeling really hungry! read more

The food was ok. Mongolian BBQ isn't exactly ever gourmet. Pick what you want throw it in bowls and let them sweep. The ingredients seemed fresh. Their biggest problem was they were trying to crowd the griddle grill, so there was no time for them it to clean behind each pile. Every separate order was getting the flavor and burnt residue from their proceeding order. They should clean it before every order. My wife said she tasted lamb in her order even though she doesn't like/eat it. read more

This makes me sad. We used to enjoy Mongol King (and Big Wok before it in the same location). The only real "pro" these days are AYCE and the fluffy sesame bread. We were there are 7 on a Saturday. There were no egg rolls or wontons. The meat bins (except for chicken) were mostly empty. Just about every vegetable had large pieces of other vegetables mixed in. Most of the sauce containers were empty except for garlic, curry and the mega-hot dragon sauce. Oh, I forgot the random noodles strewn everywhere. The cooks are nice. The servers didn't try to hustle us out of there when we were done. read more

It's pretty basic, don't expect a fancy dining experience. People come here for the AYCE, so with a drink, tax and tip comes out to be about $30-35/person. Wait staff was friendly and polite. (Dinner) Meats: beef, lamb, pork, turkey, chicken Vegetables were all standard fare (mushroom, carrot, onion, celery, bean sprouts, tomatoes, cabbage, etc.) Orange (?) noodles (Dinner) Sides included: Wonton chips (good), salad (wilty), the little sesame bread (wasn't great), and watermelon slices (Dinner) Desserts included: brownies, ice cream soft serve, Jello, ... Did I mention the watermelon slices? There is a patio and bar, and it was reasonably busy for a weekday night. Maybe once a year is enough to fill the void of moderately healthy buffets in the area... read more

This place is fine for what it is-an opportunity to get a little meat and a lot of veggies cooked on a huge slab with sauces of your choice. You'll want to add a lot of sauce as they are very light in flavor. You also get a container of rice delivered to your table so go easy on the noodles and save room for the protein & nutrients. There was a kind of sad looking "salad bar" with a big tub of what looked like iceberg salad premix and a few dessert options (Jello & brownies) and and ice cream machine right near there. It did not look appealing enough to try. The vegetable options were pretty good and most looked recently purchased from one of the local produce vendors. Meat was pretty thin & a bit frozen but a little less meat in our diets is probably a good thing. They apparently have an AYCE option and if you're looking to bulk up or have just burned a lot of calories at the gym this option will probably great because it's an affordable way to get most of your major food groups. But I wouldn't recommend bringing a date here as this is more of a utilitarian, "eat for fuel" kind of place. read more

We used to enjoy this place. For years it was a favorite. But, after a long time away, we decided to go. It is an understatement to say it was a mess. Okay, there was a big party with maybe 20 guests. However, here's our experience: The food was strewn everywhere on the buffet. The sauce was almost gone. There was no turkey in the bin. They used to offer a unique cabbage salad. That was not there. The wontons were now chips. No instructions as to how to mix the sauces. (Which had lots of debris from sloppy diners.) The person who waited our table didn't ask if we needed more biscuits. The brownies were dried out. My companion tried the soft serve. She said it was tasteless. It was later on a Saturday. Granted. Obviously, the staff had given up. I'm sorry to say that we will not be back. A dining disaster. read more

A relaxed, casual atmosphere with a kind owner - albeit busy since, sometimes depending on the hour, he's a one-man show! The meat and veggie selection is huge, including everything I could ask for, and then some. The flavor is what you make it, so make sure to add a LOT of sauce at the end. I've been going solo for a quick take-out meal lately, but if you dine in for dinner, their complimentary sesame bread is fluffy and delicious! My kids also love the assortment of desserts included in the AYCE option. read more

Was so excited to grab some food to go here and ended up so disappointed. I love a good Mongolian BBQ and I am completely aware that overall, the flavor was in my hands. However, so much more came into play here. I made my bowl as most people do at Mongolian BBQ, but the big problem here was the hot walk. It was "cleaned" right before my meal and all I could taste and see were charred flecks all over my meal. The burnt, charred taste my meal had picked up from the recently cleaned wok was so strong I threw out my meal. On top of that, it was so dry, despite my bowl being filled with liquid, because the cooks never added additional liquid to the cook top. It was like taking a bite full of dust. Next time, I'm sticking to my tried and true location at the mall. read more
