This is my favorite place to dine when I'm at Del Amo Mall. One gets to fill their bowl with meats and or vegetables so it's a good place for vegetarians and meat eaters. Going there at lunchtime can be a long wait. I've seen lines of over 30 people waiting to pay and select their orders. So I go there either when they open or after 1 pm. I've never encountered a significant wait at those hours. I've been dining there over a decade and always found the food to be fresh. The staff are friendly, not exuberant with thanks. But considering is mainly self-service I'm not bothered by not being welcomed or thanked for my business. It is what is. I do recommend this location for wok dining. My concern is not only whether the fee is adjusted later, but that I am being presented with and asked to approve a surcharge at the time of checkout when I am using a debit card. This has now happened more than once, and staff have refused to remove the fee before completing the transaction. As a customer, I am not comfortable authorizing a transaction that includes what appears to be an inaccurate surcharge and then relying on a later adjustment on the back end. That process is not transparent and does not make me feel confident as a patron. The California Attorney General's guidance states that merchants may not mislead customers or hide differences between credit, debit, and cash pricing, and debit card surcharges are generally not permitted even when run as credit. I hope this can be corrected at the point of sale so that debit card customers are not presented with this fee moving forward. read more

It definitely hits the spot when I'm craving a quick stir-fry, and it's fun being able to watch your food cook and quietly guess whether yours will come out faster than the person ahead of you. If you're in the mood for something relatively healthy, this is the spot to go to. It's like a self-serve buffet with your own chef all rolled into one. You walk up to the cashier, pay for your bowl. Next, you are given a tray, plastic bowl and tongs. You use the tongs in the meat to select the meat items you want. They have very thinly sliced beef, turkey, pork and chicken. Next, you use your tongs to select all the veggies you want/can fit in your ball like from baby corn, broccoli, carrots, water, chestnuts, onions, bell peppers, jalapeños, pineapple, cilantro, etc. etc. This is a skill and balancing act as everyone adds lots of toppings trying to get the most bang for your buck. Next the workers will put the garlic and spice on top of your bowl and then you wait for your items to be cooked. You can do mild, medium or spicy. Once they add your bowl on the round super hot flat top stove they add noodles as well. There's other items on the menu that you can add in, but that's the basic set up and it is simply delicious! The flavor is lite, not salty at all and has an Asian flavor with the sauce being thin so it's flavorful without being thick or sweet. The fresh chopped garlic they add really enhances the flavor. You can choose a shrimp bowl, protein bowl so you're opting out of the noodles, a side of white rice or chicken noodle soup. They have a shield over the food and you get your own tongs to select all your veggies. They are constantly cleaning and keeping the area neat I go to the location in the Del Amo Mall but they have other locations as well. If you've never tried it you definitely need to go! read more

I haven't had Mongolian Wok in ages and decided to come for lunch today. I saw someone who packed their meat down in the bowl with a napkin, so I did the same to get more food in, lol. Having tried a lot of the food at the food court, I would say this is probably one of the best-tasting options. I like the variety and the food seems fresh. But although I asked for no spice, the food still had a kick because it was cooked on the same griddle that many people had spicy food on. This unfortunately made my meal too spicy to share with my toddler, so she only got a soft pretzel for lunch. :( The prices are a bit high, but you get a lot of food, so next time I will probably share a meal with my dad instead of both of us having leftovers. Their pitiful tiny cheap-o plastic forks won't even allow you to pick up a biteful of food. It was so frustrating. The fork kept bending and flipping food into my face and chest. Next time, if there is a next time, I will go get a fork from another food establishment first. Also, I thought I had added a pretty fair amount of meat into my bowl, but after they added the whopping tons of noodles, my meat got lost in the mix and I felt like I barely had any in the bowl after it was stir-fried. My suggestion...pass on the noodles. I also noticed that they use someone else's bowl to fill with noodles before they add them to your stir fry, which means that you get the residual of whatever sauces were left behind in that other person's bowl...not OK because I don't want mine spicy, and I could taste the spicy sauce from the other person's bowl. read more

Dined in at Gengis Khan on 6/19/24 at Del Amo mall and we enjoyed it! The bowl is $15 which is high especially for someone who doesn't know the tactics of how to pack a bowl. Seeing other people's bow, man we felt like we got jipped. Next time, we know what to do. We enjoyed our food, the noodles were delicious, the sauce and garlic are a must which brings out all the flavors. They have pretty good veggies options. I've seen some pretty horrifying things around restaurants in the Middle and Far East, but I've never witnessed a disgusting, filthy Health Department nightmare as this Genghis Kahn. The floor was covered, and I mean covered with food. You wouldn't be able to walk down the counter without walking in food. The counter was equally covered in food. The condiment area was a filthy, disgusting mess. I haven't been shocked in a while, but I was tonight. I sat for about 15 minutes taking it all in, and never saw an employee make the slightest move to clean up the carnage. This place was downright frightening to behold. This is inside del amo food court. There's always a long line at this one compared to the rest, but don't worry about the wait bc the line will move quickly. I ended up getting the combo bc it just made sense for the cost. If soda is already $2 and some change and combo is only about $3 difference from just the bowl itself, might as well get the combo since that comes with the soda, chicken soup, and rice. My husband and I just shared a plate, soup, and rice and we were so stuffed! The noodles, veggies, and meat were all cooked well and with good flavor. They don't skimp out on the seasoning. After you're done filling your bowl, the worker will put the rest of the seasoning and you can request to double the sauce, garlic, and whatnot. The good: It's around $14 for a bowl per person. You can stack the bowl up as high as you want. For my bowl, I got beef, pineapple, bean sprouts, carrots, lettuce and other veggies. I liked the variety of things you can add. For sauces you can add garlic, soy sauce and spice. It's really fun to watch the workers saute your noodles with giant chopsticks on the giant flat grill in the middle. It looks tiny when they use giant chopsticks but the quantity is quite a lot when it is put into your styrofoam box. You can pile up your bowl as high as you want prior to them stir frying it. The bad: It's weird to me that you get tongs and are lined up to pick meat first and then use the same tongs to pick up the vegetables afterward. It seems like you should pick veggies first and then meat so you're not contaminating the other stuff with raw meat tongs (especially for folks who maybe don't eat meat and aren't picking the meat for their bowls). I have to go back, it was so busy that they mixed up my order and gave me the wrong food.. I took all that time to customize it up really well. And I can't eat mushrooms so I couldn't enjoy my meal, bummed to discover when I got home. I appreciate that I called and the manager invited me to come back for a comped meal. I've been coming here for years and unfortunately had a terrible experience here yesterday. Since we can't sit inside the mall, I picked up a couple orders to go. During my 7 minute walk back to my car, both styrofoam boxes that were holding my food almost entirely disintegrated. Most likely due to the heat, the boxes completely dissolved and I was left with chunks of styrofoam in my food, making it completely inedible. I called the owner, she unfortunately showed no remorse besides allowing me to return for a refund. She said she would call the location to let them know of the situation in order to refund me. I returned and the workers knew nothing about the situation. Gengis Khan at Del Amo Fashion Center always has a long line! Why?Well it's because it's not a bad choice for $9.95! You get a ton of food and it's enough food to feed two people! Just like all other Mongolian Wok places, the way it works is you get a bowl and then you fill your bowl to your heart's content. You an get beef, chicken, turkey, lamb and veggies. The only thing you can't put are the noodles and sauces which the folks working at Gengis Khan do for you. I've seen all kinds of techniques from folks on how to fill their bowl. Some press down with paper towels (though they say no pressing haha) while others just put a ton of meat and no veggies. No matter what though, you definitely will come out with a lot of food. I feel that the sauces here can be a hit or miss and sometimes can come out a little salty (water please...). Overall though this place is a pretty good deal and it's no wonder there's always a long line here. read more

With a bunch of options in the foot court at Del Amo, Gengis Khan is a great option. For $10, you figure out how to stuff your bowl and there's no limit on the amount of toppings you can pick. But definitely choose wisely! There are a ton of meat options (beef, chicken, pork, turkey) and plenty of veggies to choose from as well. You feel a little overwhelmed as you near the end of the line because the meats take up so much room. Luckily, there's a guy at the end of the line doing all of the sauces and putting the noodles in your bowl for you. I opted for all of the sauces and medium spiciness level. It's cool how they cook everything in your bowl right in front of you. It's definitely a sight to see the guys at work. The food came out great. Depending on what you put in your bowl, you definitely get your money's worth. Personally, I thought the dish was a little on the salty side with all of the sauces. With that said, I thought the noodles were fantastic. Gengis Khan isn't the fastest choice in the food court because they only cook 2 bowls at a time, but it's a solid choice if you have a little down time. I would go back! read more
