Tonight will be my last time eating at this place. It's a drive for me to get here and I've been an off and on customer for 6-7 years now. Tonight I ordered the egg fried rice and the orange chicken. The fried rice, which is always on point, was too oily and had too many green onions in it giving it a weird flavor from what I remember. I could have lived with that, but the orange chicken was god awful. The meat they use is so fatty and when you are chewing on it, it's like you're chewing on an oyster or a snail. It's incredibly rubbery due to all the fat. My 6 year old took one bite and refused to touch it. I ate a few pieces but every one of them was a struggle to get down. 1/10 meat quality, actually gross. Will not be retuning after this experience. read more

I never take the time to write a negative review, but I'm hoping Fine Wok management will see this and make some change for the better. We've been living in the Harbor City area for about 3 years and we've been ordering from FW several times a month since we first moved here. Yes, the ambiance may be lackluster and the customer service is hit or miss, but the food has been very solid. At times, even great. Unfortunately, the last 3 visits have been terrible. The first of these three was the worst. It was hard to give them another chance, much less a second "second chance", but I thought maybe we were unlucky and ordered at the wrong time on the wrong day. But, I don't think I can return after the most recent visit. The food has been mushy, oily, and lacking any discernible flavor from dish to dish. Our orders are usually between $60-80 for two people and we've thrown more than half of the food in the trash . My girlfriend use to rave about the Hot & Sour soup... We threw the large container out after trying two spoonfuls from our most recent order. And the chili oil dumplings... they were incredible when we first started ordering from FW. Picked up today on the fly. Food was ready fast, parking was easy in a shared lot, and most of all food tasted good. The menus available on yelp were old so I expected way lower prices. I posted updated menus and prices below. The flower egg drop soup was really good. Just enough salt and good flavor. Chicken lo mein was also yummy. Perhaps a bit salty where the noodles had soaked in too much of the sauce. Szechuwan Beef was decent. They didn't have seating available. Blocked off the front entrance with tables and only seemed to be doing take-out. Pricier than I had expected but everything has gone up lately. They did pack the containers to explosion so they didn't scrimp on portions. I would definitely pick up again and try some other dishes. read more

My girlfriend and I wanted to try a new Chinese restaurant and found this spot near Kaiser. Thinking we would sit and eat, the owners had it closed off and left us to order takeout. We ordered Chicken Lo Mein which was really good. Also beef kung pao which was very good and the vegetable fried rice was delicious. My girlfriend also ordered the spring rolls and the spicy dumplings. She truly enjoyed them and I always like to see a smile on her face. This place used the same package containers as other restaurants we enjoy which was good to see. Definitely good food and if you live closer, I suggest you give it a try. read more

Upon entering the location was in a dirty strip mall..... but that has nothing to do with how the food could taste. Going inside the place needed a good cleaning... the floor mat kept sticking to my shoes. Again that has nothing to do with flavor. I ordered Shrimp Fried Rice & Sweet and Sout Chicken. The Rice was not thoroughly cooked had pockets of white rice uncooked... but it was edible.....However the chicken YUCK!!! I have no clue what that was... I don't think I can go back to that place again. I spent $32 there and after my one serving the rest went into the trash. I really hate having to throw away food. I would not even give this away. Although they accept Apple Pay you have to open up the Apple Pay on your phone, hand them the phone and let them walk back to the register and read it. Lastly, I make this review so people can get an idea of my experience. I'm not trying to trash this place, I just feel they are not good. I gave them two stars Today I called the establishment. Spoke with manager and discussed the situation. She told me "oh well you bought it and we don't refund" just let me know that she does not care about her customers, nor does she stand by the quality of the food that they prepare. Even large establishments can have an off day, will offer you an adjustment or replacement just to try it out again. Not these people. Before I get to the food, I warn you this little eatery is in a run-down corner strip mall anchored by a cannabis dispensary. I'm not sure it's the safest place in town. The dining area was clean enough and the counter covered with typical family-run-Chinese-restaurant kitsch. I ordered orange chicken because I'm a white dude and what do I know about Chinese food? Not much. I asked for a single eater's portion of chicken and a side of fried rice. She said "That will be thirty dollars" and we obviously had some clarifying to do. I ended up paying twenty bucks for the "combo" and a soda. Ten minutes later she brought my food to the counter all tied up in plastic bags, and apparently it's all "to-go" whether you eat in or take away. My orange chicken was just that: chicken that was orange, with cold mandarin slices tossed on top. I scooped those aside and burned the skin off the roof of my mouth with my first bite. Fine Wok is our go-to place for Chinese food. It's a small business close to our home and we are addicted to some of their dishes, including the salt and pepper wings, the Sesame Chicken, the Sesame Beef, and the House Combination fried Rice. There are several other dishes that we rotate in for variety, including the BBQ Pork Chow Fun, the Teriyaki Chicken, the Broccoli and Beef, and the House Combination Chow Mein. We also like to get the Wor Wonton Soup when soup is what we crave! Han is always upbeat and welcoming. When she takes our order and gives us a wait time for pickup it is right on. Her husband does all the cooking and everything is consistent and delicious. This little hole in the wall is a great place for variety and takeout!! I've been a loyal customer for a few years now but the food has been inconsistant and a few times not edible. This last visit on 3/17/24 we ordered egg rolls and they neglected to give us any sauce with them. Egg rolls with out sauce are inedible. I called to complain and got no apology or acknowledgement for their mistake and no offer of refund for the rolls or anything. Just dead silence on the other end. We ended up throwing the Egg rolls away as they were awful. The rest of the food was also awful . We had beef in Chicken chow mein which tasted off and their Fine wok special was horrible. This place is great as a go-to spot for the typical Chinese dishes. I ordered the chow fun, thick noodles with shrimp, beef and chicken. The noodles were very soft and smooth. If you are attempting to get satisfaction for a craving of some Chinese take out, this place offers authentic cuisine that really gets the job done. Think fried rice, noodles, barbecue pork, salt and pepper chicken wings, spareribs, pot stickers, kung pao chicken -- basically good for the usual. I always ask for extra won ton, because they are so good. The skin is a little thicker, so they don't fall apart. The owner doesn't skimp on anything. Plenty of mushrooms, broccoli, cabbage, noodles, and even shrimp and bbq pork!! This is a hole in the wall, take-out only. I have a friend who, unfortunately, was visiting the hospital because her mother is recovering from surgery. Kaiser (and Fine Wok) is 13 minutes away from my home so I suggested she come over for a glass of wine. I told her I would cook for her too but I think she was very hungry. She told me she could just pick something up and this place looked pretty good and had an A rating. When she arrived here in San Pedro, she had a huge heavy bag and we laughed! I got my standard shrimp and broccoli and she ordered some things I never get. She got the combination fried rice and the fish fillets with black bean sauce. My shrimp and broccoli was the best I have ever had but this fish... OMG... was even BETTER. The fried rice was amazing too. When I got hungry for lunch today, 13 minutes I thought, would be worth it so I trekked over there. When my Bronze, Kinky Crown Queen self walked in, I was greeted more friendly than any Chinese restaurant. (We always notice, y'all, but we get that many can care less). As I sat waiting for my food, I knew this place was about to be a new staple. My friend, who works across the street who I texted at the time, mentioned hours later how nice these people were.
