I've finally got out here and tried Chinese Deli. I didn't get the Fried Rice, but it looked good. My plate was overflowing with Chow Mein, BBQ Pork and Orange Chicken. I also picked up a side of Egg Foo Young and Gravy. This small Chinese take-out spot is a no frills restaurant that serves the usual dishes at average quality. Honestly I was hoping to be blown away finding a hidden gem, but no, it's a regular Chinese fast food spot. I dont know what Happened, but this place used to be soooo good and now it's soooo bad. Understand I've been going there for a long time but after yesterday I'll never be back. Orange chicken was all breading and the chicken and mushrooms were not good. The chicken was not chicken that I've ever seen. It ALL went into the trash ($26) down the drain. Egg rolls mushy and very little filling. I'm sorry but you guys won't be a stop for me anymore. Too many places so Much better. read more

My heart breaks because my intention isn't to put down a small business but I had high hopes based on the reviews. As another reviewer pointed out, the chow mien was more veggies than noodles without any flavor and mostly salted. I love chow mien so I was looking forward to it. I really was. But it didn't meet my expectations. The food was overcooked and I got half and half, beef broccoli, and chicken teriyaki. I was grateful to have food but it wasn't what I thought it would be. Food is disgusting. I swear these revies got to be fake or I feel bad for people, that think this is the best. Got orange chicken, mushroom chicken, fried rice.and chow mein. Everything tasted old and no good taste. The closest thing was the fried rice. But I thought, this would be good if it was warm and cooked properly lol. Man the barbeque pork is the best barbeque pork EVER, it had to be said! with the fried rice it doesn't get better than that.. 2.5 Stars Not sure how this place has a 4.2 rating -- it's definitely not that level of quality. The chow mein had more cabbage and random chunks of vegetables than actual noodles. The orange chicken was overly sweet and loaded with MSG, and the fried rice was just average at best. The one highlight was the teriyaki chicken -- it was actually moist and had good flavor -- but that was about it. Yes, you get large portions for around $15 for a two-item combo, but overall, the food just isn't very good for that price or any price. I would not return. read more

Best steam table Chinese I've ever had. The only lady behind the counter was efficient with the line that was in there. Bbq pork was tender and delicious, grab some hot mustard. The orange chicken is something we don't usually order but was great here, still crunchy. Egg foo young was made fresh to order and surprisingly wonderful, airy and the best use of water chestnuts I've seen. The lady even chopped it up for us with a huge cleaver so it was easier to eat. The fried rice has chunks of bbq pork and egg and the chow mein had chicken and egg. They have both Sriracha and chili oil. Small but mighty! Small but mighty is my description for Chinese Deli. This small spot in Carson has some mighty delicious food! One can easily miss the tiny building that houses Chinese Deli. It would definitely be sad though to miss out on this place because they offer some delicious food for good prices! A combo with two entrees, fried rice and chow mein runs for under $13. Entrees include yummy dishes like Orange Chicken, Mushroom Chicken, Teriyaki Chicken and BBQ Pork. Aside from entrees; one can get sides like egg rolls or soups such as Wonton Soup and Hot and Sour Soup. I found the food here quite tasty! I enjoyed the BBQ pork. It was good in flavor and was very tender. I also liked the Mushroom Chicken. I found it to be quite savory and paired well with the fried rice. One other thing I noticed here is they are continuously cooking and so you are sure to be getting fresh food. Sometimes for small places; food can sit for hours under the heat lamp. That is not the case here as I personally saw them bringing out newly prepared food from the kitchen. Small standalone store, set-up with prepared food in steam trays that you pick from....just like a lot of other fast food chinese places all over LA. It's a stand alone building with some parking, as well as spaces in the back of the nearby KFC (there are no signs threatening towing if you park there as a non-KFC customer, so the businesses must get along OK). We were doing some errands in the area, and this place got good reviews, so decided to stop-in for dine-in. There isn't much room inside, but there are a few tables set-up to the side for dine in. It is a Panda-Express/Hong Kong Express set-up, where there are already food prepared that you choose from. Usually a 2 or 3 entree combo can be shared between us, so got the two item combo plate ($13.47) with half fried rice and half chow mein adding broccoli beef and teriyaki chicken. One impressive thing was that the fried rice had bbq pork in it, instead of it just being plain. Portions are large, and everything tasted OK. Drinks are cans only ($1.79). It was quite busy while we were there, and everybody chose something from the steam trays, so the food seemed to be turning over pretty fast. read more

Don't known how it's rated so high, every item on the plate tasted identical like burnt old oil. I only ate the teriyaki and that left such a bad taste in my mouth. The orange chicken was basically all breading and maybe a nickel sized amount of chicken for something the size of a kiwi. read more

My church would often cater this for our fellowship after service, and I always remembered loving their orange chicken and mushroom chicken. I never cared for orange chicken growing up, but this place was just different. Anyways, I decided to finally go out to get food here and they did not disappoint. We got 2 two-item combo plates: one with orange chicken and beef broccoli, and one with bbq pork and mushroom chicken. They gave us GENEROUS portions. This place has been here 50 years. Food is consistent with the typical what seems to be very serious lady serving your food......LOL!! (They're actually pretty nice) It's a little dingy with a few tables, but the hot table is kept pretty clean and has a pretty good selection. It's easily accessible and food is always great tasting. The selections are the popular items so the menu stays the same. You can special order some other items available. The servings are plentiful that one combo is good enough for lunch and dinner, or two people can share one plate. The pricing is very affordable. The service is fast, friendly, and quick. There are tables to eat in if you have time to eat inside. Sometimes when I'm finished with my errands I just want to relax and eat in before I go home. This was the pick of the week for dinner and boy was it a great pick!! I moved out here last week from Inglewood to Torrance and I can already tell the difference in the food. When I pulled up it was crowed which is a good sign so I instantly look for the orange chicken because I had some from another place that should remove it from the menu it was so bad. After I ordered the orange chicken and fried rice I looked for some juice from the meats to pour over the rice like I always do at the places in Inglewood but there was none so I got it dry. But when I got home let me tell you!!! The orange chicken was and also the fried rice too, and I noticed that they added little pieces of pork to the rice ON PURPOSE!! Never had a bad experience here. A regular stop when I'm in the area for me and my family that grew up in Carson. We all moved away but have very fond memories of this hole in the wall shop. Sometimes we even make the drive from Temecula or Ventura just for this experience. Wish all shops were like this. Coming by soon. Everything is good here. Hole in the wall for old school Chinese dishes. Bbq pork is off the charts. Charred just right, tender and insanely flavorful. Sweet and sour pork and chow mein get shout outs as well. Orange chicken and fried rice were good but outshined by the pork dishes for us. No pics. Food devoured. The staff/owners were awesome and accommodating. They really go above and beyond. This is a family favorite and by that I mean not just myself but my brothers and sister we all been going to this place for ages! The menu isn't huge but what they do have is delicious and the portions are great! Best wonton soup around in my opinion.. the broth is the best .. even better than most big Chinese restaurants this place tops all of them..
