He then charged me the extra for the combo plate that I didn't even ask for and THEN as I walked out the store he proceeded to talk trash about me to his coworker who was sitting at one of the tables. It's a 3 star affair, based on food alone. Sometimes you are in a two bit town or a bleh part of a city (ie.Bay Ridge, Brooklyn; Carson, CA) and you come across greasy, possibly msg filled, amazingly delicious Chinese food. The kind of Chinese food that has meals (not lunch specials) offered at $4.82 for a gigantic portion of fried rice, lo mein, and a choice of any main dish. $3 something if you don't feel like having rice. It's that amazing. I thought this was something you could only find on the East coast but today I was proved wrong. The portion was gigantic and filled the entire styrofoam case. I ate 1/3 of the meal which meant bringing the rest home to my excited boyfriend. He had the leftovers for dinner and I quote, "This Chinese food makes me want to write a song!" Is there some "amount less than one $ sign" ("it's called a cent sign," -bf").. because that's how much this cost. At lunch time the place was full with no empty tables. The food actually sucks to the point that we didn't even want to finish it... But on top of that we came in for the Sunday buy 2 combos get 1 free deal and they acted like little poops and gave me a hard time about it. I had to use the restroom and they told me to go to the 99 Cents store and I came back after my friends bought 2 things 1 bowl and 1 combo and I asked if I could get the free combo and pay a bit more because my friends did not understand the deal we came there for and of course, shady as hell, the people here did not inform them. They said my friend bought the bowl, only after he asked for the combo and was told to get the special for 50 cents less, and I asked the younger guy and he said whatever to the lady in Chinese, rude, and they kept saying my friend got the bowl. The whole point of coming here was to use that deal since it is a Sunday and I think they were enjoying teasing me about it. I had to keep asking them before they decided to do the right thing and not be shady about it and charge me the difference between what we asked for and what they gave us. Imagine how many people they have ripped off who do not stand up for what they advertised... On top of that their food is salty as crap and I would not recommend taking your family here unless you want them to shrivel up and die from salt. Unless they really are that shady, it feels like 40% salt and 60% real food with an 80% chance that you have a mix of old and new food and 10-40% chance of getting food poisoning depending on if they are feeling shady or extra shady that day. They should rename this place the Lie, Cheat, and Steal Express. Or Nickle and Dime and Rip People Off Scam Express. Hopefully this is not what Hong Kong is doing to other people because this establishment is shady as F and would probably take the same care with the food. read more

And for those of us that need a specially made item (plain steamed veggies), they are unbelievably flexible in making a quick batch just for you. I love their steamed plain rice and everything else looks very tasty. I've seen plenty of happy people sitting there having lunch at an affordable price. They have the hot sauce and soya bottles so you can add to your meal. Check out the menu, they have soups and other finger food specials. Friendly also goes a long way in my book as compared to the ugly attitude of the workers at the Panda Express down the street. For fast food you are getting fast, inexpensive, a good variety of flavors, and the ability to special order. This is more than you usually get in Chinese fast food.. I'm giving them the stars based on being what they are and how good they are at being fast food. Pick up a "frequent buyer" card too. I come here sometimes for the excellent fried shrimp 4 for $1 and it's great!! The food is pretty standard with nothing great or amazing but it is filling and you probaly won't eat all of it in one sitting. I reccommend just getting the chow mein because it is really good. Their menu is very limited. They only make certain items a la carte. It was literally like 4 types of chicken. We came in looking for shrimp by itself and they only had fried. We got that and it was burnt! Shrimps were hard as rocks. Our rice was old and hard. The ladies behind the counter barely spoke any English so that caused a problem between them and other patrons because she couldn't understand what they were asking.
