This place is on the quiet side of town but I just happened to pass by from errands. I walked in and it smelled nice, was CLEAN! I mean food area, tall clean separation glass and a well stocked soda fridge. The pork fried rice is tasty. The chow mein is thick and you have to chew! Chicken zucchini and mushrooms... Yum! Most of the food is good, I thought the chicken wings were ok but the spicy chicken is good the one with the peppers and the jalapeño chicken were the items I tried, the rice and noodles were also good. The female worker was rude and the noodles had and ate tasted sour, this is a sign that noodles may have been bad and spoiled. Every time I come in is a different price I'll save for instance combo number one. It says 899 but then you go to the register is $15 oh we charge 150 extra and they give you so late or customer service is horrible. I wanted to like this place. I really did. My wife and I are here at CSUDH for work. We're both doing keto, because frankly...I want to be able to see my feet again. We love small, hole in the wall type places. You usually get the best food, and we prefer our money to help out a local business, as opposed to a giant faceless corporation. On top of which, small business owners are usually friendlier, since they do depend on the local consumer. That having been said, we struck out on both counts. 1. Ordering - Owner was probably one of the most dismissive people I've ever met. Doesn't follow her own posted pricing, and just tries to get every last dime out of you. We ordered a single bowl ($5.50). No rice, substitute steamed veggies, and Teriyaki chicken, no sauce. Pretty standard order. $7.99 Wait what? Apparently steamed veggies are an entree? OK. Give us a 2 item combo ($6.99), with the same thing. Skip the rice and noodles. Nope. Still $7.99 I'm all about businesses making money, but this lady is a bit much. 2. As for the food itself. Imagine, if you will, vegetables steamed in stagnant waste water from a sewage recycling plant. The chicken, lovingly tenderized with the rear tires of a garbage truck that had just exited the landfill. It was altogether unpleasant and slimy. Probably the best Won Ton soup I've had. The regular size is huge, I can never finish it. At only $5 it's a steal. Tons of HUGE wontons and tons of shrimp. Two words: WONTON SOUP A coworker of mine introduced me to this place a while back and I'm HOOKED! Trust me when I tell ya, the regular size is more than suffice. After work I ventured around the South Bay, Carson to be exact, looking for some greasy and delicious Chinese food. I wasn't sure what was still open after 8 o'clock, then I remember there was a Chinese express restaurant next to the water place where I refill my 5 gallon bottles. Storming down Avalon Blvd, I was happy to see neon signs that read Open. Interior - Located on Avalon Blvd and Scottsdale in the shopping plaza shared with Payless foods and other small businesses. Clear visible view of the interior. Very well lit at night. Hours are posted right next to the entrance/exit door. Exterior - Medium size building with the capacity of maybe 20-30. Simple ambiance. Large menu along the wall. Items are correctly labeled. Has one beverage cooler consisting of typical thirst quenchers( snapple, soda, tea, etc. ) Tables, chairs, and floor seem cleaned hourly which was great for customers who weren't taking their food to go. Customer Service - Very friendly. Despite that they were closing in less than half an hour, they were very welcoming. They greeted me upon entrance and I was already helped. That's the service I like. Food - Pretty good selections and they have more than most Chinese joints. They have a teriyaki bowl I noticed, didn't try it but maybe next time since it's recommended by the previous reviews. I chose the one item combo because it was dinner and didn't want to eat alot. However, I asked for barbeque pork( trimmed) and they basically gave me like the portion of a two item combo. It comes with fried rice/chow mein, but I chose the fried rice and it wasn't too bland or greasy. Overall - I'd come here whenever I'm craving some fast Chinese food in Carson.
