There's no shortage of Chinese restaurants in this area, but are they truly authentic? That's the question of the day! I was googling Chinese restaurants in my work area and I have only tried one other across the street and wanted to try another mom and pop but place my order online for pick up. This place was the only one that had a website (out of the ones I searched) that you could place an order online and pay for (I could have called in an order I suppose at the other places). Located in a really tiny strip mall with a convenience store and a couple of other restaurants, parking is super tight and made me super nervous driving through it (blink of an eye). I opted to park at the USA Gasoline station next door (at a gas pump) as there were no parking spots available. When I walked in, the place looks like a complete dump (sorry, being honest here) with clutter everywhere! One family was dining in and there is one long table and two other separate tables so I would not plan on dining in (just take out). I was not worried about the food quality cause as they say, hole in the walls have the best food! So I placed my order at 11:29am & it was supposed to be ready by 11:43am; however, it was not ready until 11:55am. I got a lil nervous due to where I parked (at the gas station) so I noticed a couple of open spots in their congested parking lot and immediately moved my car. Magic happened upon my return: my food was ready! I ordered the kung pao chicken with steamed rice (brown or fried is 1.00 more). I also added on the hot and sour soup, egg roll, and fried wonton for 1.99 more. With tax, my order came to 20 bucks and some change. For the portion size, it equated to two meals for just the kung pao chicken (not the rice nor apps). As for flavor, I ordered medium on the heat level and it was not spicy and it was good but lacking a bit on flavor. The owner who served my takeout was very nice but you could tell she was a bit busy manning to go orders. I have always loved their food but today the rice had a mushy texture. The food (cashew chicken and broccoli chicken lunches) were very tasty. The veggie Egg rolls were a little salty. The hubster wanted shrimp fried rice and I was determined to find a place where it was sold fresh and not sitting in warmers all day. I searched and searched and found this place . The reviews were pretty good so I thought I would try. Upon arrival, I was like what the heck, heck nawl. It just did not look the best, I saw an A in the window so I was like ok. When I walked in I immediately noticed a whole ass bike and a scooter, kids were riding in the establishment, I was like ok, I will still try , uncovered noodles on the table. Ever heard of "dry aged bbq duck"? Well...........me neither As a Chinese American who had great to average duck before, what i got served today was.............dry aged, to put it politely. I ordered a "House Special Crispy Duck" with fried rice. The duck is obviously left-over re-heated. The fried rice? has that smoky and burnt flavor. How do i know? When you reheat duck, the fat will have this rainbow color reflection when you shine it under the light. You maybe able to fool American, but not this Chinese guy who lived in China for 15 years. This place is one of my go-to's for a night of Chinese in! The serving sizes are more than fair. I love their Chinese cabbage dish but it can overflow in their Tupperware. The king pao is truly spicy. I mean it has a GOOD kick. I'm not into too spicy dishes. However it has good flavor. Service is usually pretty quick. This is a pick up location only. We ordered the Mongolian beef, vegetable chow mien, shrimp fried rice, Kung pow chicken, shrimp chow mien, and a side of vegetable eggrolls. Everything was really good, typical Chinese food. My fam & I were very hungry and missing our Chinese food during quarantine and I came across this restaurant on yelp. Great reviews and there's delivery!
