This place has the best fried rice in town. I went here on a fluke and glad I stumbled in. Whenever I'm in the area I have to stop here. They give you a healthy portion and it's very flavorful. Also had the beef and broccoli which was very tender.

YOOO I been coming here ever since I was little!! Let me tell you--they NEVERRRR MISS! Man the barbeque pork is the best barbeque pork EVER, it had to be said! with the fried rice it doesn't get better than that.. I know it's looks like the most unassuming place ever but mannn this spot hits like no other. & these portions can easily be shared or saved for later! amazing! When I went in today I kid you not I walked out of there under less than a minute. SERVICE WAS THAT QUICK!! & the lady was smiling the whole time! the best hole in the wall ever

Small but mighty! Small but mighty is my description for Chinese Deli. This small spot in Carson has some mighty delicious food! One can easily miss the tiny building that houses Chinese Deli. It would definitely be sad though to miss out on this place because they offer some delicious food for good prices! A combo with two entrees, fried rice and chow mein runs for under $13. Entrees include yummy dishes like Orange Chicken, Mushroom Chicken, Teriyaki Chicken and BBQ Pork. Aside from entrees; one can get sides like egg rolls or soups such as Wonton Soup and Hot and Sour Soup. I found the food here quite tasty! I enjoyed the BBQ pork. It was good in flavor and was very tender. I also liked the Mushroom Chicken. I found it to be quite savory and paired well with the fried rice. One other thing I noticed here is they are continuously cooking and so you are sure to be getting fresh food. Sometimes for small places; food can sit for hours under the heat lamp. That is not the case here as I personally saw them bringing out newly prepared food from the kitchen. This place may not look like that much from the outside but I highly recommend checking this place out for their mighty delicious food

Small standalone store, set-up with prepared food in steam trays that you pick from....just like a lot of other fast food chinese places all over LA. It's a stand alone building with some parking, as well as spaces in the back of the nearby KFC (there are no signs threatening towing if you park there as a non-KFC customer, so the businesses must get along OK). We were doing some errands in the area, and this place got good reviews, so decided to stop-in for dine-in. There isn't much room inside, but there are a few tables set-up to the side for dine in. It is a Panda-Express/Hong Kong Express set-up, where there are already food prepared that you choose from. Usually a 2 or 3 entree combo can be shared between us, so got the two item combo plate ($13.47) with half fried rice and half chow mein adding broccoli beef and teriyaki chicken. One impressive thing was that the fried rice had bbq pork in it, instead of it just being plain. Portions are large, and everything tasted OK. Drinks are cans only ($1.79). It was quite busy while we were there, and everybody chose something from the steam trays, so the food seemed to be turning over pretty fast.

The customer service is horrible. Stopped last minute to grab wings and egg rolls. The lady snatched the debit card and spoke in her native language when I ask for teriyaki sauce to her coworker. She was rude and I am sure I will never patronize this place again. Maybe just maybe that is why this place was empty. Bad customer service. read more

I used to pass this spot when I was a kid and always wondered how the food was. Today I was passing by after a Dr. appointment. Maaaan....their fried rice with BBQ pork and egg, BOMB!!! It hits the spot. Never had it nor seen it at other Chinese fast food joints as a fried rice. Definitely an upper hand for them. The orange chicken was good. The egg fooyoung was ok. A little too thick for me and dry. The gravy sauce was ok and needed more seasoning. I'm definitely coming back for the fried rice, but not the egg fooyoung. read more

First time here. I thought it would be great. Little mom and pop. The rice did have good flavor. Got combo with teriyaki and orange chicken. Don't know what happened. I was very sick for two days. Couldn't sleep. An extremely bad case of food poisoning. Not very happy about this. Never have I had an issue this way. So close to going to e.r. I hope they look into their food handling. Someone dropped the ball here. I will never ever go here again. And, too expensive for what was served. $15 for a combo? Come on. read more

Giant portions are not my criteria for rating Chinese food. I'd much rather have smaller portions of great food than humongous portions of mediocre food. Suffice it to say, we won't be back. Fried rice was mushy. The breading on the orange, chicken was very soft, not at all crisp. BBQ Pork was pretty good, not great. Chow mein tasted like dishwasher rags. Crab Rangoon were flavorless and egg rolls were bland and watery. I couldn't eat them. All in all, Chinese Deli is a big disappointment. read more

Been going here for years. I usually get the BBQ pork and teriyaki chicken. The big egg rolls are good too! Very reasonable prices, ridiculously large portions. They pack the container so full when I get home and open it, my food is in the shape of the styrofoam container! I always have left overs so it's like getting 2 meals! The food at this family run deli was amazing! I had the wonton soup, shrimp, fried rice, and orange flavored chicken. There was so much food that my family and I were able to eat it for three meals. What I love most about the food is it was so fresh. The wonton soup was the best I have ever had. The staff are great! The woman who waited on me, was so attentive to exactly what I wanted. This is the place to eat. The food is great, the tables and the restaurant are clean. If you have not been here, then you need to make plans to go! I understand why everyone would say this looks ugly but the furnishings are fine I never eat here but I buy and take it home. The bbq pork is awesome really good, kun pao chicken is good too The chow mein has veggies and noodles a little cut up but you can get a large for like $10 bucks and I make my own cal rose white rice but that pork is so good it's addicting. read more

Ive first had a meal here in 1999 when I started working down the street, And the taste hasnt change. Theyve been around for 35yrs and seem to have a HUGE local following. This place still has one of the best tasting bbq pork around. You just cant find the type of caramelization that Chinese Deli seemed to have in the BBQ Pork. My favorite has always been; Their Fried Rice with BBQ Pork and Sweet & Sour Sauce on top. And I slam a bunch of spicy oil with the burnt chilis on top of it ... I just cant get enough of this ... I got teriyaki chicken with no sauce, beef broccoli and steamed rice. Their chicken is so good and fresh, it doesn't even need the sauce in my opinion but their sauce is delicious so use it if you want. Great service! Owners are hospitable and generous. I ordered 5 Won Ton Soups. It was delicious and just what my sick family needed. It was jam packed with wonton, shrimp, chicken and veggies, as we say in Hawaii, sooo ono. Since it wasn't busy, the nice lady at the register helped me to carry the soup to my car. I'll be back to try other dishes for sure. read more

I've been passing by this place for years but never thought I'd try it until my friend asked me to find true authentic Chinese take-out. I have never found a place that has the aesthetics, the taste, or the portion sizes that can compare to Chinese Deli. When I unwrapped them I noticed that the amount of meats was much, much less than before. I had to cut them in half, then use the meats from one half to build up the other half. I am hoping that this was a one-time mistake on the part of the person who made them. I will go back next Saturday as usual and buy a couple just to make sure. If they continue to be skimpy, I will no longer buy them.

I have been a loyal customer of Chinese Deli for over 30 years, but after my recent experience, I will not be returning. The customer service was absolutely horrible. The servers were clueless and had no idea how to assist customers. They were unresponsive and seemed completely disinterested in helping. It's disappointing to see how much the service quality has declined over the years. Today was the final straw. I can't continue to support an establishment that treats its customers so poorly. I've been coming here since I was a kid mowing lawns to get enough money to buy a two item plate. The food is phenomenal as the BBQ pork, orange chicken, teriyaki chicken, spicy chicken, sweet and sour pork, beef and broccoli, curry chicken and so on are great.
