Super dry chicken ! Very disappointing!
    Rosa R.

I love this restaurant ! Food is delicious but when someone overcooks your chicken it's not a good thing. My chicken has been dry and way too overcooked. Lamb burger is delicious . Probably one of the best.burgers! Prices are a bit high but when you eat good food it's worth it. Except the chicken of course!

Got the Chicken Kalamaki Pita Sandwich ($12.50) and added the Greek Salad and Fountain Drink ($4.50). A very delicious meal. The salad was fresh with a good amount of feta cheese. Mild acidity in the dressing. The sandwich was in a soft pita. The tzatziki sauce was creamy. The chicken was tender. Dining was available both inside (tables and booths) and outside (tables). Service was very friendly and prompt. I went there on a Saturday around 16:00 and did not have any issues with parking. However, the parking lot is not very large and is shared with other restaurants.

Food/Drink 5/5: Their pork gyro plate is my absolute favorite! We got one with rice (pictured) and the other with fries which were surprisingly good. Their salad, specifically the dressing, and veggie kabob are both great considering they're just sides added on to the meal! Service 5/5: Called ahead and were told it'd be ready in about 10 min, and sure enough when we drove over it was all packed and ready to go. Price $$: Decent price, great quality!

Pita Pitaki is always a hit! It was delicious, casual, and priced fairly. The employees were so helpful and checked on us many times. Thank you for a great lunch Pita Pitaki!

OMG!!!!!!! This place was mentioned in a facebook group Im in ' Long Beach Food Scene' I quickly bookmarked it after I saw the reviews. My son & I wanting something new for lunch came here. We looked over the menu and decided on the lamb gyro plate. My son was considering getting his own plate but decided on sharing. The staff is very friendly & welcoming. We ordered at the counter found a seat & our food was brought to us. My son mentioned to me we should have gotten the dips so we could try them all. My son went back & ordered the dips with pita bread. When our food came out, I was so glad that we didn't order 2 plates. There was more than enough to share. The food was so good & the dips were amazing. Fire feta and tzatziki were my favorites. The gyro was perfect. This is a great local option and great business to support. The parking lot is small so parking can be challenging if going during a busy time. The service was great and employees were all very friendly. They checked on us several times. I will definitely be back. I actually can't wait.

We've always enjoyed the food here and how everything was freshly made. However, this last visit was a miss. We tried the Lemon Chicken, Chicken Kabob Plate and the Gyro. The Lemon chicken was so overcooked and beyond dry and the veggie kabob that comes with the plate was cold. The Chicken kabob was on the dry side as well. The chicken dishes all tasted like they were reheated. The Gyro was still good and plentiful. All the plates were plentiful. Lemon Chicken came with overcooked roasted potatoes, a nice side salad and pita bread. The Chicken Kabob came with roasted potatoes, salad and pita bread. We dined in and service was outstanding. After this visit, we most likely won't be back.

Some of the best Mediterranean food I've ever had in my life! I walked in and was greeted immediately. The staff and cooks are awesome. Very nice and helpful, the whole experience was amazing. The tables are cleaned immediately as soon as a customer leaves! The staff come to the tables and ask if you'd like anything else or how the food tastes. Top notch service & the music playing fits the mood. They've gained a weekly customer. I left full with a smile on my face that lasted the rest of the day. They are killing it here!

First off I love a place that welcomes you as you walk up and asks if you have any questions and makes suggestions. The woman at the counter was so warm and friendly telling us her favorites and I wish I had gotten her name because she deserves all the recognition for great customer service. The food was absolutely delicious. Everything was prepared fresh and to perfection. I could literally just eat a big plate of the lemon potatoes and be more than happy. We got the Pitaki Ap'ola which is a combo plate of almost all their meats, with potatoes and salad. The plate is $37 and could feed 4 people. It was just me and my boyfriend and we have enough leftovers to have it for dinner again tomorrow and then some. Great deal for such a good portion. The restaurant itself is small and tucked into a little strip mall that surprisingly had good parking. Cute quaint little spot. They had a steady stream of people eating in and picking up take out. Will definitely make this my regular go to for Greek food. Owned by a husband and wife who were making all the food and personally checked on us and made sure we had everything we need. Crazy good service for "quick dining" spot

Came here as a friend's recommendation. Her husband is from Cyprus and shares that his place is the most authentic Greek he had. It is a small Togo like eatery with some tables to sit. To my surprise, it is the first time I probably had Greek food, because most places that advertise as Greek or Mediterranean, don't cook pork! This place has pork gyros! Friend enthusiast and friendly staff. With interesting items I never had before. I tried the rice lemon soups and spanakopita. Comforting rice soup with chicken and rice paired with toasted bread. The spankopita served with Greek herbs and feta cheese. We ordered the lemon chicken plater and the chicken gyro plater. Mine came with rice, veggie skewer and Greek salad while other plate had herb potato and Greek salad. On the had their roasted eggplant dip. Flavors are amazing and cooked to perfection. The half chicken falls off the bone and my chicken gyro finely seasoned and spit roasted. We had a couple of their desserts. I will definitely come back here and try other dishes. We also plan to buy catering for here too!

Greek family owned restaurant... WOW! Everything we ate ... Homemade ... WOW! Reasonable prices .. DELICIOUS FOOD.. WOW! Great menu .. Greek wine ... Dessert ... WOW! Am I going back soon? YES !!! I am so impressed ... WOW!!!! My friend had the moussaka with Greek salad and I had the veggie plate. The moussaka was heavenly and my falafel, dolmades, grilled vegetables, hummus and tabbouli was a gift from the gods. I also loved the Greek Mountain Iced Tea. Nice surprise. Took some almond cookies and baklava to go. Delicious... great service and cute restaurant. Will be back soon.

Super friendly service outstanding food! Was recommended by a Greek friend as the best in town and it didn't disappoint. We'll be back for sure!

I didn't have high expectations at first, but I was totally blown away! As a Thai person who had never tried Greek food before, I found this food incredibly delicious and every bite was impressive. I highly recommend this place--it's a must-try!

Stuffed Tomato & Pepper with side salad. Absolutely delicious with fragrant rice in the tomato & bell pepper.

Do they have waitstaff service and about how many can they seat outdoors, about?

No you order at the counter. Outside there's only two small 2 seater tables from what I remember.

I've read newest in pits and believe you all have met my needs. Do you use and have any part of MSG (monosodium glutimate)? I have seen so many places that either do in part or non at all. So if you can help me I would be appreciated. Rick & Davi

We do not use MSG. Have a good day!

Unfortunately, the experience fell far short of those expectations. To begin with the positives, the staff were warm, welcoming, and genuinely attentive throughout our visit. The outdoor patio on Second Street also provides a pleasant atmosphere and remains one of the restaurant's strongest features. Regrettably, the food was consistently disappointing. The gyro was dry and appeared as though it had been sitting for some time before being served. The pita was noticeably soggy, undersized, and lacked the texture and freshness one would expect. The accompanying salad consisted of low-quality greens that did not appear fresh, and it was served with what tasted like bottled dressing rather than a house-made vinaigrette. Having considerable familiarity with food preparation and dressings, the difference was immediately apparent. The calamari was acceptable but entirely unremarkable, and at $17 it did not justify its price. We also ordered a gyro salad, which suffered from the same issues as the sandwich: dry meat, uninspired presentation, and ingredients that lacked freshness. Ironically, the French fries were the most enjoyable item we received--competent, but hardly enough to elevate the overall meal. What made the experience particularly disappointing was not simply the quality of the food, but the imbalance between quality and price. I have no objection to paying premium prices when they are matched by premium ingredients, careful preparation, and attention to detail. In this case, however, the value proposition simply was not there. Based on this visit, I cannot recommend George's Greek Cafe. While the hospitality deserves recognition, the kitchen did not deliver a meal that reflected either the restaurant's reputation or its pricing. I sincerely hope management reexamines its commitment to ingredient quality, consistency, and execution, because the restaurant has the potential to offer a much better dining experience than what we encountered.

The lamb chops were the star of the meal--perfectly seasoned, savory, juicy, and beautifully grilled with that fresh, smoky barbecue flavor. The hummus was a 10/10: silky smooth, topped with whole chickpeas, and full of rich, authentic flavor. The rice deserves its own mention. It was light, fluffy, buttery, and perfectly cooked--not sticky at all. Paired with the fresh salad, it balanced the meal perfectly. For drinks, the sorbet drink was so refreshing, and the pomegranate tea was outstanding with bright, fruity notes that made it the perfect way to end the meal. The ambiance is absolutely beautiful. Our beef was a textbook medium rare and was so juicy and tender, as was the rest of the meat. The chicken was so moist and flavorful, as was all the shawarma. All meats were seasoned beautifully. The rice underneath was stunning as well and really caught all the juices from the meat on top. The roasted tomatoes, onions, and pickles were the perfect compliments to help freshen up the palette during the meal. The sauces were amazing and there was a clear favorite (the garlic sauce) which was annihilated by all four of us. Service was friendly!
