    Turkey Cranberry Panini
    Mckenna C.

Literally the best Panini place in SoCal! I've never had a panini I haven't liked from here. I just ordered the turkey cranberry panini which tasted like Thanksgiving dinner. The juices are amazing and pair so well with the paninis; I order the Vampiro which is a beet juice concoction. The staff are prompt and welcoming, there's indoor and outdoor seating, although the overall place is relatively small. I've never had trouble finding a seat or parking!

This place was AMAZING and hands down heads and tails above anything in or near the traffic circle ! IYKYK I happened to wake up and head to my bank near Long Beach but asa human when hungry turns to HANGRY, any one of us can get besides ourselves and this is when we are the pickiest ! So I walked in not expecting to much and my attention was drawn to the Chicken salad with cranberry $13.79 (Chicken salad with cranberries(chicken, green onion, carrots, cranberries, walnuts), Spicy brown mustard, Mayonnaise, Tomato, and Spinach! This was not just delicious but made with love, tenacity and the kind of stubbornness that made this sandwich "SLAP YA MAMMA GOOD" no really that's how good it was perfectly balanced, not messy served with house chips and one sweet pickled cherry popping pepper ! I've traveresed this area my mom friend and clients live in the area and there isn't one place that compete with Panini's near the airport ! In fact dot buy anything on the plane just pack everything up you buy here for the family and hit the tarmac ! Because this is as good as it gets in sandwich land !

    our sandwiches!

The best place to get a panini and there is no other place like it. I got the chicken pesto, while my boyfriend got the chicken caesar. The chicken has a good texture to it, the bread has the perfect crunch, and the respective sauces had good flavor. You can upgrade your side of chips, but the chips go best with the sandwich. If you choose to eat in, they have different hot sauces and napkins at each table. Every time I have gone the workers are always kind. I'm excited to try even more of the menu! :)

My new favorite lunch spot! I got the Bolillo Lunch Special-- which includes: Panini Sandwich, salad & a drink for roughly $15! Shop is nice and clean and a nice few facing the street. Some tables inside and a few outside too! Can't wait to come back & try the other sandwiches!

Came here on a Saturday around 10am no wait to order. Parking in the side and one bathroom. Christmas music playing. Ordered the Turkey panini. It was made to order and greens tasted fresh. Bread was crunchy. On the thinner side but good.

    Wrong order

Just got home from picking up what I thought was a turkey cranberry panini but got this one instead. Very annoying. Another place that swings their monitor around for a 15%-25% tip when you order but can't do the basics right. Disappointing

The paninis were delicious!! Definitely will be back! I do come from far but taking a drive down isn't so bad. It's a nice drive. The service was fast and the lady had the best recommendations. The inside is small but perfect. They do close at 3 everyday so definitely a weekend thing. Overall best Paninis I've eaten.

This was my favorite lunch spot pre-Covid. I was finally back in the area 4 years later and had to stop by. They've updated the tables and added new items to their menu but the chicken pesto panini was still as delicious as it was 4 years ago and is my favorite panini spot. (There's a reason why Corner Bakery and Panera have closed so many locations!) Went extra and got the potato salad to go with it this time and it was some of the best potato salad I've ever had. Food is fresh and was too much for me to finish in one sitting and was so happy to have it for leftovers the next day. Definitely recommend checking them out!

Food was great. Simple and delicious. Service is great. They were very accommodating and amiable. Not too busy; lots of seating indoors and outdoors.

Revisit? Definitely. Great for weekend breakfast…read more Sunrise Cafe never disappoints. It's just what a casual diner should be: delicious, generous with the portions, and efficient. I usually order the Popeye Omelet with home fries and toast. Everything is seasoned well and the ingredients taste fresh. Other things I've tried include the Chilaquiles, French Dip, Kids Scrambled Egg Breakfast with French Toast, and Posole. Everything is classic and reliably good. You'll think, wow, I'll probably need a box to-go, but somehow you'll eat it all in one sitting! Sometimes you have to write your name down at the check-in stand out front in order to get a table. But I've never had to wait too long. The servers really pay attention to anything you might need without rushing you or asking lots of questions. So I think that's how they keep the wait time short. The vibes here are just 10/10 for a family breakfast. Our toddler likes watching the model train that circles the upper windows of the restaurant. It's busy so there's lots of pleasant background noise. You can watch the traffic go by on Lakewood Blvd. Prices aren't too steep. I've ordered takeout and delivery from here as well and never had any complaints. Parking can be hard to find in the lot right next to the restaurant but can usually be found right away in the back lot. Overall, just a nice neighborhood spot to eat.

Inside, the place is clean but definitely could use some updates - 6/10. Staff were very nice and friendly, though I wish coffee refills were automatic - 7/10. The food reminds me of home cooking. I really enjoyed their Mexican dishes but preferred the breakfast menu overall. The hobo omelet and breakfast potatoes had great flavor. However, the biscuits and gravy were disappointing, tasting like store-bought biscuits and canned gravy--probably from Costco or Sam's Club. Coffee was very good, but I wish someone would walk around constantly refilling cups. Overall, a decent spot with some room for improvement.

Although I get annoyed at ordering at the front, I will say they try and speed the process up as much as possible. I've tried quite a few dishes on the menu and still have a few left to experience, but my go to is always something with bacon. The potatoes are cooked perfectly, along with the eggs, and steak (I believe they are cooking sous vide so they turns out perfectly every time) They have outside patio section that is shaded, along with little fans to help in case flies get in the way. This is a perfect brunch spot or a place to take yourself on a solo date, or family that's in town.

It was my first time coming to Zuzu's Petals and I definitely have a lot of thoughts!…read more First, the ambiance and aesthetics are very cute. Everything feels clean, classy and thoughtfully put together. When you first arrive, seeing the line out the door can be a little intimidating. Usually at places like this, I feel like I have to fight for my life to find a table, but thankfully that wasn't the case here. The staff was very kind and asks how many are in your party and helps you get a table, which made everything much less stressful. They also give you menus while you wait so you can decide what you want ahead of time. We arrived at 10:30am and our wait was about 30 minutes so by the time we were able to order at 11am, the lunch menu was also available. I ordered the tater tots, Cinnagave Shaken Espresso, Dutch Baby Pancake and country sourdough toast with jam. With tax and tip, my total came out to around $40. It's definitely pricier than what I normally pay for breakfast. Most entrées range from $17-$34 and coffees are around $5-$10, so you can easily spend $30+ for one person. In these hard times, that's not exactly ideal for me. I also wanted to try a pastry to get the full experience, but when I found out the small blackberry danish was $7, I decided to pass. I just couldn't justify getting that close to $50 for breakfast for one person. Now for the food! The country sourdough toast with jam was actually my favorite item. The homemade sourdough was incredible and honestly deserves its roses. It sounds like such a simple thing, but it was so well done and easily the standout for me. Visually, the Dutch Baby Pancake was beautiful and definitely impressive when it came out. I've always wanted to try one, so I was excited! I will say, I've read everywhere that Dutch babies are supposed to have more of a custardy center and even the photos I've seen look that way. Mine didn't really have that texture at all and tasted more like a crepe. Maybe it was a little overcooked? It wasn't bad, just not quite what I expected. Still delicious! Unfortunately, the tater tots were the biggest disappointment. They weren't crispy, didn't taste seasoned and sort of fell apart until they became one big potato mess. My cousins and I ended up not finishing them. One of my cousins ordered the summer peach and corn salad, which she liked! Just a heads-up that it's only available after 11 a.m. My other cousin got the skillet, she mentioned feeling a little disappointed since it tasted a little dry and didn't finish her plate. However they both ordered the Curious George drink and LOVED it! The Cinnagave Shaken Espresso was also fantastic. Coffee is definitely something they do very well here and I can see myself getting again. Overall, the aesthetics are adorable and I could see this being a great date spot. The coffee was fantastic, the sourdough was amazing, but the rest of the food was just okay for us. That was a little disappointing because everything sounds SO good on paper. Maybe we just caught them on an off day. The prices are probably the biggest thing holding me back from coming back regularly. Spending $30-$40+ per person for breakfast isn't really in my budget right now, but if this is within your price range, you may have a completely different experience. When I review a place, I try to take the overall experience, personal taste and effort into account. For now, I'm leaving Zuzu's Petals at 4 stars because the effort is definitely there, and what isn't my cup of tea may be someone else's liquid gold. I'd still give them another chance in the future... after I get paid!
