    Turkey Cranberry Panini
    Mckenna C.

Literally the best Panini place in SoCal! I've never had a panini I haven't liked from here. I just ordered the turkey cranberry panini which tasted like Thanksgiving dinner. The juices are amazing and pair so well with the paninis; I order the Vampiro which is a beet juice concoction. The staff are prompt and welcoming, there's indoor and outdoor seating, although the overall place is relatively small. I've never had trouble finding a seat or parking!

My new favorite lunch spot! I got the Bolillo Lunch Special-- which includes: Panini Sandwich, salad & a drink for roughly $15! Shop is nice and clean and a nice few facing the street. Some tables inside and a few outside too! Can't wait to come back & try the other sandwiches!

Came here on a Saturday around 10am no wait to order. Parking in the side and one bathroom. Christmas music playing. Ordered the Turkey panini. It was made to order and greens tasted fresh. Bread was crunchy. On the thinner side but good.

    Wrong order

Just got home from picking up what I thought was a turkey cranberry panini but got this one instead. Very annoying. Another place that swings their monitor around for a 15%-25% tip when you order but can't do the basics right. Disappointing

The paninis were delicious!! Definitely will be back! I do come from far but taking a drive down isn't so bad. It's a nice drive. The service was fast and the lady had the best recommendations. The inside is small but perfect. They do close at 3 everyday so definitely a weekend thing. Overall best Paninis I've eaten.

Food was great. Simple and delicious. Service is great. They were very accommodating and amiable. Not too busy; lots of seating indoors and outdoors.

This was my favorite lunch spot pre-Covid. I was finally back in the area 4 years later and had to stop by. They've updated the tables and added new items to their menu but the chicken pesto panini was still as delicious as it was 4 years ago and is my favorite panini spot. (There's a reason why Corner Bakery and Panera have closed so many locations!) Went extra and got the potato salad to go with it this time and it was some of the best potato salad I've ever had. Food is fresh and was too much for me to finish in one sitting and was so happy to have it for leftovers the next day. Definitely recommend checking them out!

    Breakfast burrito w/bacon and jalapeños

Visited the shop for the first time and was planning on ordering a breakfast panini, but was pleasantly surprised to find they offered breakfast burritos. So I ended up ordering the breakfast burrito with bacon. Overall the burrito was very tasty and served super hot so I had to take my sweet time and not devour it like I usually do my breakfast burritos . The tortilla was pressed so it had a good crunch to it and the filling was piping hot and quantity wise wasn't too overwhelming nor skimpy either. The plate also came with a side of fresh fruit and fried potatoes which were so tasty and cooked to perfection. The shop itself was very clean and welcoming. The menu offerings were plenty and looked all so tasty. They had this bread pudding in the display case and is made in-house. I was tempted, but refrained...next time. Both cashier and server were very pleasant and made me feel welcome. I'll need to visit again for lunch someday soon!

The parking was pretty empty and there was no line, so why not? FYI there is overflow parking next door so do not fret if you can't find one in their little lot. The restaurant itself is like a cafe with pretty cool waitresses and bussers. There is a cute electric train that runs around the top ledge of the dining room which I thought was pretty cute. As for the food, I had the chorizo and eggs plate. It came with tortillas and refried beans. It was delicious and was simple but great. If needed, they have a soyrizo version too. Overall, pretty chill cafe and affordable. We will definitely be back.

Inside, the place is clean but definitely could use some updates - 6/10. Staff were very nice and friendly, though I wish coffee refills were automatic - 7/10. The food reminds me of home cooking. I really enjoyed their Mexican dishes but preferred the breakfast menu overall. The hobo omelet and breakfast potatoes had great flavor. However, the biscuits and gravy were disappointing, tasting like store-bought biscuits and canned gravy--probably from Costco or Sam's Club. Coffee was very good, but I wish someone would walk around constantly refilling cups. Overall, a decent spot with some room for improvement.

Although, I can't partake (CD), I see so many tables ordering them, and they look amazing! My mom loves the blueberry lemon pancakes. It's a good portion. I've tried the skillets and huevos rancheros, and can't complain. Parking can be a little challenging in the area during peak hours, so you may need to circle a time or two. Service is good, but it's honestly not the warmest. Every time we walk in everyone seems a bit unhappy, but I wouldn't say it affects the service. Just don't expect the warm and fuzzy feels walking in. Maybe everyone is just tired? It is family run, so maybe by the time we pop in (like12p-ish) they are spent? IDK, just thought I'd throw that out there. The place seems pretty clean, and it's decorated adorably! Very country chic, bright, and inviting. They have some patio seats, if you're wanting some fresh air. They have a few big booths, and counter seating, so there's plenty of room for various party sizes. Overall, Village Cafe is a good little spot to score an all-American breakfast, a cinnamon roll evidently, and some rays.

We had a reservation for six and the hostess greeted us and sat us right away. Our server, Nate, was fantastic. He knew the menu and answered all of our questions. He even explained how some of the drinks were made. Later we found out he was actually one of the bartenders helping out as a server for the night. Which made sense considering how well he knew how the drinks were made. He was attentive and checked on us often to make sure everything was going well. One thing that made him stand out was, he actually conversed with us rather than just asking if we needed anything and then leaving. The Old Fashioned was one of the smoothest and best I've probably ever had. My nephew ordered the Ube Painkiller after Nate described how it was made. I had a sip, and the ube flavor really came through without overpowering the drink and it was perfectly matched with the dark rum, which Nate said came from the Caribbean. The Brussels sprouts had a nice mix of tender and crispy pieces that gave additional texture. The calamari was tender and the pesto style sauce paired real good with it. The Thai curry sea bass was flavorful, flaky, and had the right amount of spice. The cioppino had a rich shellfish flavor in the broth and I appreciated that the tomato base didn't have such an acidic taste. We also shared the tomahawk, which was juicy, cooked perfectly, and had a sprinkle of coarse salt that really brought out the flavor. Overall, we had a great experience. Happy hour was happening which we took advantage of. It was 4.00 off appetizer, 2.00 off draft wine and beer. Also, they made sure that our little pup was well taken care of as well. Food wise, an order of the poke wrap. Nice chunks of ahi with a scoop of rice, lettuce, avocado and wasabi sauce. It was good but a little messy. As it would be with all of the lettuce wraps. The steamed mussels which is a must. The broth was delicious and served with two nice thick slices of toasted bread. Decent size mussels cooked deliciously in the broth. A must try. Lastly the calamari which was tossed with jalapeños. Both deep fried and quite tasty. Nice crunch to it but not overly cooked. That was also served with two dipping sauce. Everything was delicious. Towards the end of the meal, Melinda noticed that a bug was in my wine which she was very sweet about and made sure to take care of it. The simple little gesture was greatly appreciative. The whole experience was excellent. Everyone was the sweetest and friendliest. Will definitely be back.
