I will say some of their combos had an insane amount of food like you could seriously feed two people with just one meal. We came on a Sunday morning and it was definitely crowded. I was craving sweet and savory so I ordered Blueberry pancakes with a side of sausage. Oh my, I forgot how ginormous their pancakes are, AND served three of them for my order! The sausage were also larger patties and a side order consisted of two patties! Yes, I took half of it all to go, but it made for a great breakfast to dinner that night! The pancakes were thick but cooked just right. Loaded with blueberries and served with maple or boysenberry syrup. The sausage patties were grilled and very tasty. I try to meet up with my folks semi-regularly for lunch, and this place came across my radar, so I figured we could give it a shot. The menu is pretty impressive in terms of quantity, which helps if you're not sure what you might be in the mood for. A plethora of omelettes and standard diner fare await. There are plenty of lunch options as well. The restaurant is thankfully in a parking lot with many spaces, though they're shared with the other businesses there. The building itself is interestingly set up half indoor, half outdoor, with the only bathroom being on the outside. Convenient for us patio folks, but maybe not so much the people inside. I've eaten here many times over the last few years and have never been disappointed. It's a casual, no frills, home cooked kind of spot. It's one of those you put in your diner rotation. It's difficult to recommend anything because everything I've tried has been good. But I did recently try for the first time the breakfast kebabs and was pleasantly surprised how much I liked it. It has chunks of French toast, sausage, and fruit and served over eggs. (The sausage is a little greasy though.) There is a large patio in the back and some inside seating. On November 9, 2024, after running some errands, I took my family out for breakfast. I especially wanted my hubby to try this location as I've been here before. The parking lot was quite crowded, and the restaurant was even more so. It made for a wonderful day at the Potholder. We added our names to their waiting list. Within seconds, we were asked if we would prefer to dine outdoors or indoors. We were promptly seated indoors. Within minutes, our beverages were brought to our table. Erika, our server, was very attentive. After we placed our menu orders, we engaged in nostalgic conversations. Erika arrived with our food. I had ordered a patty melt on sourdough bread with curly fries. The carbohydrates were satisfying. A la carte eggs scrambled, two biscuits on the bottom, chicken-fried steak on top, two sunny-side-up eggs, hashbrowns, and two delectable hot chocolates. Erika approached our table and inquired about my husband's meal. He playfully remarked that it was terrible, causing her to halt in her tracks. We all burst into laughter. My patty melt was delectable, bursting with flavor and served on buttered bread. The chicken-fried steak was rated an eight out of ten, but it could have used more gravy. I specifically ordered BB pancakes because I have always believed Potholder #3 had the best BB pancakes in the LBC. On top of that, I called them to let them know they screwed up my order, and the waitress who took my call says, "Oh, well, I didn't charge you for the blueberries."? Seriously? No "Hey man, so sorry. Come on back and we'll have some BB pancakes ready for you."? And to top it off, they gave me only ONE syrup...for a short stack. Really? Like..give me one syrup if I order ONE pancake. You give me ONE syrup for a short stack? I'd be lucky if I could get a third of my stack smothered in syrup. Needless to say, I threw this shitty breakfast away. So done with this place. I'm not one to Yelp, but this breakfast and shitty customer service really ruined my morning. We just moved here and looked for a place to have breakfast once a weekend. It's not far from where we live and it's apparently a chain. I am thrilled by what was brought to our table. The cinnamon pancake was INCREDIBLE. They cut it much like a cinnnamon roll and the butter on top was a perfect finish. My eggs and potatoes were really good, the bacon was okay but it had a different taste. My girlfriend had the Hoboe omelette and it was really good, the salsa and hash browns were good as well as the sourdough bread. The service was terrific. They spent all their time looking after us. The other two tables ordered drinks, got their drinks, and then proceeded to order 5-6 minutes after receiving their cocktails. Please tell me how it's possible for both tables of 3's to receive their food first? Then 15 minutes later, the table of 2, and then 10 minutes after that, I finally received my food? I was there waiting for my food for well over 45 minutes and almost left as I witness the second table of 3's half way into their meal when I ordered 15-20 minutes before them. It was the best team work I've seen in a long time. Food: 2/10 The only reason I won't return is the food. I got the Popeye scramble with hash browns and sourdough bread. No seasoning was used at all and the salt and pepper didn't help so I slathered everything in ketchup which didn't help much either because I'm not a huge fan of ketchup. The eggs were over cooked, the hash browns were more like mashed potatoes, and at least the toast was toasted to perfection. I didn't complain and I was very hungry so I dug in, but half way through I found a hair in my food. As someone who refuses to complain I asked to pay my bill and was offered a box, I told my server about the hair and showed her, she felt awful that this happened and offered to have my food remade. I told her it was fine, I didn't want to complain but just pay my bill. She was very sweet and ensures I was ok with not getting my food redone, of which I insisted it was fine. I came here for my birthday, I was casually browsing brunch spots and my family and I decided this was the spot we wanted to go too. It's kinda of hidden but surprisingly busy. I went a second time and steered away from the peanut butter French toast which was I tried the first time, which weren't bad but I didn't get a hoorah this is amazing feeling. The second time I tried a more traditional breakfast with potatoes and eggs and basically the works and I was so excited that I found myself leaving this review from how delicious everything was! It s a little heavy on foot traffic but the staff is quick and attentive. It's definitely worth the price and the noise isn't too crazy as most likely you are to find yourself eating outdoors considering how small it is. It's a nice environment and the menu is extensive you don't know where to begin. Everything was amazing. The only downside which isn't even that big a deal is that there's only 1 restroom for the staff and the customers. Major inconvenience but understandable based on the location. But then Richard must of forgot about us. Coffee wasn't filled up in a timely manner. The food took 37 minutes. I'm sorry I'm in the industry and breakfast should not take that long to come out. When the food arrived it appeared like it was sitting under the heat lamps for too long as our sauces were drying out on the plate. Maybe the servers have to run their own food, would make sense since Richard was out taking orders but not taking care of his tables. We had our 10 month daughter with us and she did great waiting for a fruit bowl but come on no child could wait that long. He didn't even ask if we wanted the children meal out first. The food was decent. I could tell that the flavor is there and his recommendations were great. The portions are good. The people were friendly and polite. I don't think I'll return if I had the opportunity. There's steps of service that just can't be missed and honestly over everything could have prevented this review and us waiting and wondering what's going on. The red umbrellas on the back patio make plenty of shade for an enjoyable breakfast. Menu is big, and I usually stick with eggs, bacon, and hashbrowns. They're so good, how can I order anything else? I came here Saturday morning with the intent of finishing their Mac Daddy Frankie, an 18" pancake with a side of 2 eggs and either 2 pieces of bacon or 2 sausages. First off, the customer service here was excellent. I think 3 different people helped me while I was here, all of them friendly and courteous. As soon as my pancake came out I divided it into 6 large pizze type slices. I devoured the first two with no hesitation. The third piece I finished slowly as I got tired of the pancake super quick.. it was just so thick! I only managed to finish half of the pancake and the sides. There was no time limit so I could've just stayed and slowly finished it but I had an 11AM appointment. The food was decent, nothing special, but their customer service makes it all better.
