My friend and I were visiting Long Beach and craving matcha so we stopped by Stereoscope! The space is small with a couple of stools where you can sit and enjoy your drinks. There were only two people ahead of us so we didn't have to wait long. I ordered the Hakatsu matcha and my friend got the Yokokobi matcha. Both were really good! The staff was friendly and the cashier was kind and asked us what else we had planned for the day. If you are looking for good matcha, I recommend stopping by!
Me and my friend passed by this spot while we were looking for Pressed but decided to stop here instead. The cashier was so friendly, beyond friendly. I had a bunch of questions about the different kinds of matcha because I'm a newly matcha girlie and still learning the flavors. I told them I wanted something sweet, and they gave great recommendations and let me know the one I chose was really good quality. When I got it, it was a little strong for me, so we added more oat milk and a splash of vanilla, and that made it perfect. The aesthetic of the café was beautiful; minimalist, bougie, and it literally felt like a high end neighborhood café. The menu was teeny tiny, so it took us a minute to decide. My friend got an iced Spanish latte, and she said it was probably the best one she's ever had, this was also recommended by the cashier. We sat inside, drank our drinks, and did a little people watching out the window. Parking was a little sketch, but overall I definitely recommend and can't wait to go back.
Located in the heart of Long Beach so prepare to find street parking! It was such a nice atmosphere and quite small but the employees were nice! I ordered a matcha latte w oat milk while my bf ordered a Spanish latte w oat milk and both were very good! The matcha was sweet but not overpowering the flavor of the matcha itself, while the Spanish latte was perfect and their coffee in it tasted good and unique! Will definitely recommend and will come back !

This is a small little coffee shop in the Belmont Shore area. There's a bunch of places to eat, drink and hang out at in the area. This is one of the places worth visiting. I got the Spanish latte and it was pretty yummy. The coffee wasn't too strong or bitter. The employees were friendly and the shop was clean. Can't complain! Yeah I'll come back when in the area!

Since I work in DTLB, some mornings I would purposely take a different route so I would past by Stereoscope to get either their coffee or matcha. They have really high quality matcha and legit serve with either milk or tonic. You can also pick from I believe 4 kinds of ceremonial matchas that they offer. If you're sensitive to caffeine, I highly recommend good quality ceremonial matcha because you will not get the by-product affect unless from a concentrated powder or low quality (fake) matcha. I'm a matcha snob and also have sensitive stomach issue so I realize I can only do high grade matcha now so my options for good matchas are very limited and I'm so glad Stereoscope is one of them!
We ordered the large decaf madagascar vanilla latte with oat milk and it was delicious. I prefer a stronger coffee flavor, so I added an extra shot of espresso and it was perfectly balance Prices are steep, but you can taste the quality of the espresso and the syrups don't taste artificial. I appreciate how the staff hand delivers your drinks and the nice clean interior.

My husband and I were taking a stroll on 2nd street and came across this busy coffee shop. It's so cute inside and so clean with a place to sit and wait or enjoy your coffee solo or with friends. I ordered us the Signature cream top latte less sweet and the Signature matcha latte less sweet & they were both amazing! The long lines go quick- so definitely worth the wait! I can't wait to try this again and order something different! Also, customer service was amazing!

I love how pleasant and welcoming the young lady who was taking orders was. Each customer that came to the counter was greeted and she politely took their order with no rush and made sure it was correct. You don't see that in many coffee shops for the most part. I say that because many of them seem like they dont even want to take your order! I went for the iced Madagascar Vanilla Latte with almond milk and to have it there as well. The space is pretty small and there are only windows seat available. I am happy that when it came out, it came out in an aluminum cup! Perfect for sitting and enjoying. The latte was pretty good, although I wish I could taste the espresso more. It seemed a little more milky and water down than what I am use to. Definitely a coffee shop I would stop by again when I'm in the LB area visiting friends.

Parking can be tricky most nearby spots are metered, but there is free parking available on nearby residential streets if you don't mind a short walk. They offer a nice variety of specialty coffee drinks, both hot and iced. Overall, a solid spot I'd recommend, and I'd definitely return if I'm back in the area.
I love their matcha. I recommend all, but the strawberry matcha with oat milk is my recent favorite! Homemade strawberry syrup with fresh strawberries-- awesome. The baristas are super helpful with recommendations. Even on a busy Saturday morning they have fast, quality service. Great little spot in Belmont Shore.
The service was good and the baristas were friendly but the coffee was NOT it. As someone who loves coffee, this was the most watered down and this wasn't just bitter, it was almost sour. For the price, I paid almost $8 for a small cup (only 1 size available) with no special instructions. I will say the view is nice because the shop is in between the rush of second and PCH but if you're in a rush and need your coffee asap, good luck finding parking Definitely overhyped and overpriced.

First time trying Stereoscope in Long Beach, and I'd definitely come back! I went with a group, so I was able to try a few different drinks, including their sweetened matcha, Madagascar Vanilla Latte, and Signature Cream Top Latte. The location itself is fairly small, and parking can be a little rough since it's in a popular area with limited metered parking. It's probably not somewhere I'd personally plan to sit and hang out for a while, but they do offer online pickup through DoorDash, and the service was quick (for reference, I went at around 8:45am on a Sunday). The employees were also friendly and helpful when we had questions about the menu. What really stood out to me was the flavor! The drinks are rich, flavorful, and really well-balanced. It's not bitter, overly sweet, or too plain. Everything we tried tasted consistent and intentional. The prices are a little on the higher side, but based on the quality, I think it's worth it. I'd definitely come back, especially for the Madagascar Vanilla Latte, the matcha, or even to just try something new on the menu! read more
As soon as I came in I was greeted exceptional their service is amazing . Once you order your drinks they bring it up to you in a tray. The cafe decorations are beautiful. Definitely seems like it is a well loved coffee shop in the Long Beach community. I tried their einspanner latte absolutely delicious and presentation of drink. The only thing is it's difficult to find parking so definitely one of those spots to find parking and chill and sit to enjoy the drink. Other than that would come back. Note: I did not see a bathroom not sure if you have to ask or if they don't have one for public. read more

I found myself fiending for a matcha while exploring downtown Long Beach, so I was pleasantly surprised to pass by Stereoscope. The barista was so friendly as I took a minute to think over the different ceremonial grade matcha options they offered. With help from the barista, whom I also struck up a cute little convo with, I decided on the Ujigawa matcha latte with no added sweetener. The matcha itself was very refreshing and vibrant. I don't think the picture I included does the color justice. If you don't like a bolder, earthy/umami matcha flavor, I would not recommend this specific tea especially not unsweetened. This latte was all I ordered so I have nothing to compare it to, but I liked it. I also had brought my laptop along to do some work, but was baffled by the only available outlets being on the ceiling. It's my fault for bringing along a laptop with low battery.. but still. I thought the outlet placement was so odd. This coffee shop is also pretty small. However, all the available indoor seats face outside which I thought was nice for balancing work/studying/reading with people watching. read more

The space is clean, calm, and thoughtfully designed, making it a great place to relax or bring a book or laptop. They offer a great variety of coffee, teas, and matcha options. As someone who loves matcha but prefers it not too sweet, this place really delivered. Damien was incredibly kind and helpful and recommended the popular matcha hokatsu series with very little honey. The first sip was smooth, silky, and perfectly balanced. Exactly how matcha should be. There is comfortable seating, a great vibe, and genuinely warm customer service. What We Ordered: -Madagascar Vanilla Latte $7.50 -Spanish Latte $7.25 My wife wanted to go shopping at Belmont Shores, so we stopped here for a much-needed morning pick-me-up. I ordered the Madagascar Vanilla Latte, which the staff recommended as a popular choice. They even mentioned they make their own artisanal vanilla syrup in-house - what's not to love? It was a solid latte. My wife ordered the hot Spanish Latte, also recommended by the barista, and she really liked it. I tried it too and enjoyed it as well. Delicious coffee at STEREOSCOPE! Stopped in here after dinner on a Saturday night and parking was a hit tough but we made it happen. We both had the Spanish latte which was pretty sweet and rich. They make the syrups in house and seem to take coffee and matcha options pretty seriously- ceremonial matcha options and pour over coffee. Unfortunately it's pretty small and seating is limited, and we didn't see a restroom. We took the drinks to go this time. Small Specialty Coffee Shop on 2nd St in Long Beach. Busy area. The Street parking is mostly all metered. The Coffee Shop has a European feel. They have an interesting coffee menu with items such as the Espresso Tonic. They also have Specialty teas, Matcha. And more. I tried the Ganache Mocha. It is a 70% dark Chocolate Mocha. It was really good. The Baristas are friendly and the service was really good. Prices are reasonable. I recommend trying Stereoscope Coffee. read more

Stereoscope has a location in Costa Mesa that has been on my list for a while now. I was walking 2nd street and saw this location and had to stop in. I ordered an ice latte without ice so I can drink it the next day. The coffee is nice and robust and I would recommend it. I also ordered the most expensive matcha in the menu, around $12. I would pass on this as it wasn't anything unique or special and too light. Better options abound at less cost. Great service, the barista was very friendly. Street and public parking. Casual. Indoor seating. Small merch area. Please come and create your own adventure. read more

It was really cool to see this place offer different types of ceremonial grade matcha with a description on their menu for each. I got the sweetened matcha which was good... but if you truly like the matcha flavor i would not recommend this one. I like a bit of sweetener in my matcha and was worried I'd dislike the unsweetened ceremonial grade which is why i opted for the pre-sweetened. But it was way too sweet for me and the matcha flavor was overpowered. Someone ordered a ceremonial and it looked SO much better -- handwhisked right in front of us, a dark green color. Def getting that when i'm back in long beach! I had a bit of trouble finding this place -- walked past it twice before actually spotting it because the sign is kind of small. Ordered the strawberry matcha latte with oat milk (sweetened). It was so good that we came back again. The first time we went in the morning and there was a line out the door but the second time we went in the afternoon and no line! Drinks are consistent and the place is very well designed. Such a gem! The counter attendant was very helpful. I ordered the iced sweeten, Signature Latte Creamtop w/ oatmilk. So creamy, subtle sweetness, and delicious! The ambiance was aesthetically pleasing. It's a cozy grab and go spot. There are bar seatings inside and a little outdoor seating. I went around 10am. Wasn't a long wait. Service was good. Hello! This establishment was very welcoming. My friends and I wanted to sit in the same spot as John cena did when he visited. Damian helped us order and made our drinks beautifully. Stopped by Stereoscope for a pick-me-up before work and was able to get in and out quickly on a Saturday morning near opening time. I chose the Yorokobi matcha latte today with vanilla syrup to try as my first drink to try here. It was a great vibrant green color, perfectly mildly sweetened (until the ice melts). Light astringency but not too bitter, would order again! However, with the price points- I may stick to my making my matcha lattes at home for now. The worker graciously brought my drink to out me as well. Would come back to try their wide selection of coffees. read more

We waited in line for 10 minutes on a Sunday morning for the Koka uji matcha latte, strawberry hokatsu matcha, and the Spanish latte. The matcha was light in color and taste which was surprising because it was like $13. The cafe itself was minimalistic, decorated nicely for the holiday season, and has bar seating along large windows with lots of natural light. You can observe baristas brewing coffee and tea and whisking matcha on a marble counter. Among the crowded cafe, you'll be able to hear lively jazz overhead. Not the best place for studying, it's more of a grab-and-go system. read more

Do they have decaf options?
Our decaf is a Swiss water process Colombia Aponte Honey with notes of pineapple, coconut, juicy and guava. It’s a light medium roast and available at all locations and you can also grab a bag by inquiring with our baristas. Thank you!

All Stereoscope locations from Buena Park, Echo Park, Newport Beach and Long Beach are from the same team. You’ll find the same quality, and customer service from each shop, regardless of the location.
Is there space to come in and study or WFH?
Yes, there is a long bar with barstools. 2 spots by the front window and maybe 8 spots by the side window. There is also tables out front.
