I have stepped into this coffee shop a few times in the past year. It's walkable from my work which is a huge plus (except when Pine Ave is extra smelly unfortunately). But about the coffee shop! So far I have tried their cajeta latte once and their rompope latte twice. They are both delicious choices. Heads up though, the rompope latte only comes iced, but it is such a treat and comes decorated with orange zest and shredded walnut. I'm always very indecisive when trying local coffee shops because I want to try something unique to the shop but also stick with something familiar. The girls at the register have been patient and helpful every time I've gone in. There seems to be a good amount of space for someone to sit and get some work done or read a book. I can't recall the noise level though, but nothing a pair of NC ear buds can't fix. I'll be back soon to try some of their other lattes. read more

Was in town for warped tour Decided to try this place out They had a no ice allowed sticker so had to support. Very colorful place, it is small but they have seating. They have a printer that I'm assuming is free to use for the locals, which is cool. Service was decent, barista explained the flavors. I ordered a horchata cold brew & iced cajeta latte. Another Sunday walk leading to another coffee exploration. This time we made our way to confidential coffee it is a small but cute and cozy coffee shop in downtown Long Beach. As soon as you walk in you are hit with these good vibrations. It's so cozy. They have murals couches games, places that you can do some work. Just a very relaxing place, the perfect place to get your coffee and just chill. I'm going to be honest with you I can't remember the exact drinks we got I believe I got the Horchata Matcha and my bf got the Horchata cold brew. I do remember that our coffees were bomb. We had ordered the chorizo burrito...i think. I just remember it had chorizo. They came back and told us that they didn't have chorizo but gave us the option for our money back or a different breakfast sandwich. We ended up getting another breakfast sandwich and they comped us an extra one for our troubles. I thought that was so cool Again, really great place hidden in downtown. Traveling from Sacramento, CA, and stopped here as it's a few blocks from my hotel. My experience wasn't bad but I didn't get exactly what I ordered. Service was fantastic, I appreciated the gentleman who helped me out. He even found the ingredients on their doughnuts to help rule out any potential nut allergy. I ordered an iced chai with oat milk and their horchata cold brew. The horchata cold brew was delicious and had a cinnamon forward flavor. Inside was comfortable and cozy, had some art on display and a few tables to sit at. The only downside - the chai latte was a coffee based latte, not a dirty chai. I didn't discover this until after I left and my husband took a sip 30+ minutes later. I hope my order didn't get mixed up with someone else's. Thats the only reason I gave four stars, I'm sure it was an innocent mistake but my order was wrong. Anyway, I'd go back but I'd check my drinks before I leave. read more

Was lucky enough to come here during their 6th birthday anniversary celebration!! The cafe is Latino-influenced and their menu consists of various coffee drinks showcasing the culture. My partner and I got the breakfast sandwiches and the Rompope latte (requested for no pecan shavings due to a nut allergy) as well as the Mexican Mocha. My boyfriend stated that the Mexican Mocha tasted just like chocolate milk and he couldn't help but chug it all down. The coffee was also strong and I felt its effects immediately and it lasted for most of my day! Back to the birthday festivities, there was a free photobooth, local vendors selling merchandise, live cumbia music, and all sorts of activities laid out on the tables. The staff were all super friendly and welcoming, being an LGBTQ-POC safe space as well. Stayed here for a few hours and enjoyed the time inside. Best chances of parking is the parking garages that offer 2 hours free around the blocks but there is also street parking. Printer available for use, free Wifi, unique decor, dog-friendly with an impressive pup menu, great to get work done or for laptop studying, etc.! I live literally in the apartments next to Confidential and I visit this place way too much. The aura here is cozy and I can see myself spending winter inside long-term. There are not enough of these cozy coffee shops around nowadays... like, coffee shops need more couches and communal plushy chairs. A few favorites of mine are the white mocha, pour-over, and the Mexican mocha. They have loads of artwork all over the place, which adds to the artsiness and the coziness. I think some portraits and paintings are for sale too, so it's nice to see them support artists! This world needs more art - a break from technology, and honestly everything about this coffee shop represents the importance of art and tangibility. The staff here are amazing and will remember your order, but honestly that's probably just me because I come here so much BUT STILL... they're super nice! I don't see enough people coming here, so it'd be nice if y'all would join me and start visiting Confidential regularly. 10/10 good place to study and yap quietly. read more

The Mexican Mocha here tasted AMAZING!!! I chugged it all down because it tasted like chocolate milk. Needless to say I needed to use the restroom soon after because I forgot about the coffee with it. I had a warm and toasted breakfast sandwich plate while I did some laptop studying done. The cafe is beautifully decorated, super cozy, and there's local artwork displayed along the walls!! The staff were all very friendly and kind. Well, maybe I can't do anything about the time, but I do believe you'll have a nice time at Confidential Coffee whether you're here to get some work done, play a board game, or even pick up a cup of Joe! I placed this coffee shop on my radar due to their participation with Fivestars, and I wanted to give them a try, especially since they were pretty close to the City Place A Parking Lot in DTLB where the first two hours of parking are free. The lot adjacent to Confidential Coffee is for Rite Aid customers only, so unless you plan to shop at Rite Aid, don't park there. If you park at the City Place A lot, you simply have to double-cross one intersection before you end up at this Latinx owned coffee shop on the northeast corner of 6th and Pacific. I had a Fivestars reward for two drinks, but the barista had a difficult time applying it to my order. He could see the offer on my account, so he simply honored it for me. They have menus on their front counter for both coffee and tea. It was mid-afternoon when I visited, a little late in the day for me to be drinking coffee, so I went with two cups of tea. Which flavors though? I had been going through quite a lot, and I just wanted some me time in the coffee shop. Herbal Tea sounded like the way to go. They offer three: Feel Better, Yoga Blend, and Ruby Nectar. I went with the first two, though I'd be open to trying the Ruby Nectar on a future visit! It wasn't specified on the counter menu, but the teas can be prepared either hot or iced. I wanted to try one hot and one iced so that I could enjoy the iced tea while letting the hot tea cool down. The description for Yoga Blend contained the word "warming", so I decided to order the Yoga Blend hot and the Feel Better iced to make it easier for me to remember which one was hot and which was cold for the purposes of captioning my photos. The barista was pretty friendly, but also kind of slow at preparing my drinks. I didn't recall seeing any other customer come in after me, but it took almost 10 minutes for my first drink, the Feel Better, to come out. And then another 2 minutes later, the Yoga Blend came out. Both of the drinks really hit the spot, and in different ways. I sat at a couch in the rear of the shop directly in front of a painting depicting Frida Kahlo. Next to that couch is a printer, and behind that printer is the information you need to connect to their WiFi. Actually, they have that info posted in several places around the shop, so you shouldn't have to be moving any furniture or other equipment just to connect to their WiFi. After connecting to their WiFi, I got to disconnect from the physical world, at least outside of the shop, and scroll through Yelp, trying to decide on what restaurant to go to that evening. With other customers in the shop getting some work done, the barista would sometimes take breaks by going to the back every so often. I didn't see anyone else working besides him, so I'm guessing it's not that busy during the course of the day, or at least closer to closing time at 5 PM on weekdays, except for Mondays when they close at 9 PM. Why so late? They do trivia on Mondays at 7 PM. The interior decor has some really nice artwork that you can appreciate if you are into the arts or even just Latinx culture. There's even a picnic table where you can play a little chess, or if you're into other board games, you may find a better one on the bottom of a bookcase by the front window. The bookcase has plenty of books that I guess you could call it a mini library. Case in point, there's plenty to do in this shop while you sip on your drinks. Overall, a nice place to hang out and relax after a tough day of work. read more

Parking is available on the street or there is free 2-hour parking in the structure if you pass Pine a bit. Note about the street parking: You can get 15 minutes free so if you're just grabbing to go, this would be a solid option. DRINKS // I've tried a few things my partner has ordered but I've gone back multiple times for the seasonal HORCHATA MATCHA. It is GOOD. Seriously, I've ordered it three times now. It's my first time here because I was awarded a gift card from a group. I had a great first impression when I ordered, but it went south from there. When one of our drinks came, I realized I made a mistake and forgot to change the milk. I asked the tall, young lady what kind of milk was in the drink, and she said it was whole milk. I said I'm lactose intolerant and won't be able to drink it, and she just said sorry to me. It's a bummer that I wasn't offered a redo of my order to help me out. Great little local spot in downtown Long beach. I had to kill time before an event and this seemed like a good place with plenty of seating. Nisreenn was so sweet and made my seasonal mexican egg nog latte perfectly! It was one of the ones she recommended and it was good! Not too sweet and had a nice citrus peel (I think!) on top. There is communal bench seating as well as a small couch and about 5 cushioned chairs. They also had a nice Christmas tree and bookshelf which gave it a very cozy vibe.
