Drinks: 5/5 The matcha drinks tasted premium and well-made. I tried the hojicha and was really pleased with the overall flavor. The menu also includes short descriptions, which helps when choosing drinks you haven't seen before. Customer Service: 5/5 The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. They answered our questions about the unique drink options and made the experience feel welcoming. Ambiance: 5/5 The vibe was chill and mellow, perfect for relaxing and enjoying your drink. There are a few tables inside, plus cute merch available. Parking: 4/5 Parking spaces are a bit tight, but availability was good when we stopped by in the evening. Definitely a spot I'd come back to when I'm around town.
I've been looking for a new cute cafe spot in Long Beach to enjoy some coffee and chill and this was a good spot to go to if you're in the area. I read a few reviews how it's spacious, however I found it to be smaller than I thought. Because of busy it was for a Friday morning, seating was limited as most people were there studying/working or socializing. Staff were very nice and friendly and worked quickly despite the rush. I ordered an iced banana latte and it was good! I would say it was more a hint of banana. I also tried their chocolate croissant which was a good size for breakfast and was perfectly toasted. Most people come here for their matcha so I'd have to give that a try next time. While there is a parking lot, parking was a bit challenging as this coffee shop is in the same lot as a lot of other businesses.
Cute little spot to catch up with a friend! We went with the cashier's recommendations: Banana Matcha Latte & Strawberry Matcha. The matcha was surprisingly dark and thick, but craaazy sweet! I definitely gotta ask for reduced sweetness next time. When I come back, I might try their Banana Latte instead :)

You know what considering how f*cken busy it was... I'm talking line out the door, full house in this mfer I got my drink pretty quick. Especially since I came on a Saturday between 12:30-2:00 PM, which is peak hours. I was a little intimidated at first because it was like 90% women, and I had a shirt on that said "kinda fit kinda fat," so I thought I might offend somebody lol. Anyways, if I'm around the area, I'd definitely stop by again considering how spacious it is and how fast the line moved. The coffee itself was good you can see and taste the crema, which tells me the espresso was pulled correctly. No burnt taste at all. The spot is aesthetically pleasing, super clean, and offers more than just coffee. I also did some research on the company because I was curious, and I respect that the owner really started from the bottom. It was about 4 years in the making as she started by creating her own house-macerated fruit/compotes, doing pop-ups, and selling them in jars before incorporating them into beverages. Those are the kinds of stories I like to hear. It shows she didn't just jump into opening a cafe with no experience she actually put in the work, experimented with flavors for years, and understands what pairs well together. It's a craft I can respect, especially when you see so many new coffee shops opening up using Torani or Monin syrups without really mastering the fundamentals first.
This is my first time at Cafe the Scoop in Long Beach. It is located in a small strip mall. It is a Korean-inspired coffee shop. According to Google, It is known for its high-quality matcha drinks, creative lattes, and house-made puddings, especially the banana pudding. They use fresh ingredients like natural fruit syrups. Some Popular items include scoop lattes, matcha lattes (especially with pudding), and pastries like kouign-amann. See full menu in attached pictures. The Interior is spacious, bright, fresh and inviting with natural elements and a very relaxing jazz music playing in the background. It offers a cozy atmosphere with free Wi-Fi and outlets, making it a great spot for studying, I had the scoop Latté which is a cold drink made with sweetened espresso, milk of choice and vanilla cold foam. It is topped With a Palmier cookie and cocoa powder. I also had an almond croissant. My drink was really good. The croissant was good but no different than anywhere else. Prices are reasonable, and the young staff is really friendly. I was there for about an hour, and it was very busy. The crowd was mostly college students. I really enjoyed my first visit. I highly recommend trying them out.
I came here because I heard their matchas are good and they're not... They're amazing! Best flavored matchas around. I love the banana and strawberry matcha. Plus I can get it with oatmilk. It's always so rich in flavor without diminishing the flavor of the matcha. Look how green that drink is! That's some strong matcha Always friendly service here and love that there's enough room to sit and hang out or work.
Super yums! My friend and I came in on a Sunday morning and it wasn't too busy. We got our drinks within 10 minutes and set up shop to get some work done for the next few hours. There are several tables and outlets so it is a good study cafe. But onto the drinks! We got a matcha latte (75% sweet) and a matcha einspanner, both of which were amazing. I will admit that I got almond milk instead of oat which was a mistake because almond milk has a strong flavor so I couldn't taste the matcha as much, but that was definitely my bad. It was still super smooth and the perfect sweetness level so I couldn't complain! My friend for the matcha einspanner which she said was really good, a bit on the sweeter side, but perfect if you like your matcha sweet. She tried the banana matcha before and liked that one more than the einspanner though. Overall, I would come back and try their other offerings! Next time without almond milk though haha. Yummy coffee shop in a nice area. I saw lots of people going for runs or walking their dogs nearby. This place is right in the corner of a weirdly shaped parking lot. There's a good amount of seating inside and it was a nice place to sit and enjoy our drinks Scoop latte: 4/5 this wasn't bad but I like super sweet coffee so this was a little bitter for me. It's prob pretty sweet to most people though Banana pudding: 4/5 I liked this a lot and ended up putting some of the pudding into my coffee like extra cream top and mixed it in Def would wanna try the banana latte next time I'm back
4.5 stars rounding up to 5 Came on a Saturday right at 9am opening and there was already 5 people ahead of me. The inside looked really aesthetic and clean. The employees were friendly! We ordered the: - Banana Matcha Latte w/ oat milk: delicious! You can taste real banana chunks on the bottom. We got it 50% sweet since the banana makes the drink sweeter - Matcha Latte w/ oat milk: got it 75% sweet and it was the right amount of sweetness. You can taste the matcha and overall refreshing drink. This would be a cute date spot. There's a few tables and seats inside. There's also a restroom inside which was clean. We sat there for a bit and there was consistently a line. Would come back again if in the area!
I was expecting more quality matcha but it was somewhat disappointing...though the store was super busy. This is between boba and a speciality coffee shop ceremonial matcha. Though the color of the matcha was super green, it definitely was not high grade matcha - and a little on the sweeter side for me. We also got their coffee, which I feel the same-a bit too sweet and in between Starbucks and boba shop.

I had been seeing this cafe on TikTok and finally made my way here!! Cramped parking lot which is shared with other businesses in the plaza, but I was still able to find a spot right in front. Upon entering, I noticed they had maybe 7 tables to sit at with enough chairs at each. There was also a restroom in the back, and they had a little station to put your drink top on and get straws, napkins, sweeteners, etc. After looking at the menu, I decided to order the classic scoop latte which came with a cookie!! It took maybe 5-10 minutes to get my drink which was a good wait time. It was honestly really good and perfectly sweet in my opinion. I loved the cookie on top, especially dipping it in the coffee. Next time I want to try something else from their big menu. Employees were nice and patient while I looked over the drink options. LOVED the bossa nova jazz playing in the background. I'll definitely be back here soon.

GUYS. When I tell you this is THE BEST MATCHA place I am not lying. I got their iced matcha with oatmilk because I think it's a good baseline to judge them off of. The quality of the matcha is amazing and I love how the matcha presence is very prominent. It has the perfect amount of sweetness without it overpowering the matcha and doesn't leave it tasting grassy or bitter. It is also not too creamy or milky. As for the service, the workers were nice and got the drinks out in a timely matter. I def recommend coming here. 1000/10! read more
I love finding new places around town! This one was on a pure whim and the only one in the area that fit my search criteria. With good ratings and a nice location across from a high school, I figured I couldn't go wrong. Choosing a beverage proved to be harder than I thought. After a short discussion with the employee taking my order, the recommendation of Pumpkin chai latte sounded best. My order was to go and unfortunately, I didn't try it before I left. At first sip about a mile away, I realized it really lacked flavor. I could barely taste the pumpkin and it tasted like lightly flavored melted ice. Very interesting take on a Pumpkin Chai Latte when neither the pumpkin, chai or milk flavor stood out. The inside was very busy with lots of people working or just hanging out. There were a couple tables outside as well. The location caters to the school across the street an the surrounding neighborhoods of which there is no close competition. Service was fast. Parking was ok at the time I stopped in, but the lot is small overall for all the businesses that share it. With LB loaded with similar businesses, I won't be running back here for beverages...maybe the banana pudding I saw in the refrigerator. Now that's something I might be able to get behind. read more

I've been coming to Cafe the Scoop for the past couple weeks and it's been such a treat! So far I've tried the matcha, banana matcha, and banana latte. The matcha and coffee has great flavor and pairs well with the banana cheong, it doesn't taste like an artificial syrup. The baristas are super friendly and are knowledgeable about the menu. Despite the cafe being busy on weekends, I've never waited too long for a drink. There's plenty of tables and chairs to sit if you want to hang out. Overall, it's become one of my favorite cafes and I look forward to going every week. Keep it up cafe the scoop! read more
I would come back for the banana latte. Wow, that banana latte was full of flavor, the syrup tasted homemade, and perfect amount of espresso flavor peaked through. It was sweet, but still the coffee carried throughout every sip. The vibes inside were super clean and cute. A lot of natural light spills through and I could see studying here on a slow day. Funny enough, I heard about this spot from a Trader Joe's employee a few months back & I knew eventually I had to try it! Eventually finally meaning today! It's located in a plaza which was very crowded & the parking spaces are quite compact. I was surprised to see how busy it was when we arrived as they had just opened 20 minutes prior. They only offer indoor seating & it was on the louder side. Definitely didn't get a study type of cafe but more of a grab a drink with a friend and catch up type of vibe. I got the regular matcha latte with oat milk & it was so good but I do wish the matcha was a bit smoother. My bf tried the banana matcha with whole milk & to me that was a bit too sweet but it was with real banana if you're more into that than artificial. Friendly customer service. I would definitely like to come back to try their coffee or to grab that matcha again. read more
This is a cute cafe that our friend recommended to us since we wanted matcha in the Long Beach area and wow! The matcha was amazing! We got a matcha latte as well as a matcha Einspanner. Both drinks were creamy and they weren't too sweet! I would recommend this cafe for anyone in the area! The parking on the weekend could be bad since it is located in a small plaza, but on the weekday, there shouldn't be a problem! I probably would recommend this for studying as it can get loud. read more
Cafe The Scoop is such a cute cafe for catching up with friends! The ambiance is very bright, warm and homey. Staff was super kind in wishing everyone to have a good day. Their matcha einspanner was pretty good! I still prefer Community Goods einspanner a little more though. They are located in a business center/plaza so theres free parking. I went on a Sunday and it was packed inside so be prepared for plan b if you can't enjoy your drinks at the cafe! read more

The guy who helped us take our order was so friendly and made me feel welcomed. As well as the guy who handed me our drinks was also super nice and apologized for the wait although we didn't wait too long for our drinks considering how busy it was. There wasn't too much seating so it's almost like a grab n go spot unless you get lucky someone is leaving. The drinks themselves were really good. The matcha was delicious, you can taste the banana flavor and the matcha flavor and balanced so well. It was definitely on the sweeter side, too much for my liking BUT it was really good. My bf said he enjoyed his Spanish latte. read more

Walking into the store, I could already tell it would be a great study spot. The space felt really cozy without being too crowded. The workers were super friendly and took the time to recommend a few drinks based on what I usually like. Although I just ended up ordering a regular matcha latte with oat milk, and it was really good. The matcha flavor came through clearly and wasn't drowned out by the oat milk or vanilla syrup. Overall I'd definitely come back to try some of the recommendations they gave me. read more

I got the banana matcha latte, which was okay. The banana was pretty sweet and kind of faded as I kept sipping on the drink. The matcha itself was good though. I definitely want to come back to try their other drinks! I would rate this place more of a 3.5, 4 rounded up. I think this could change though, once I try out more drinks. They had some desserts and pastries for sale too. Other than that, the staff were really nice and friendly. I didn't have to wait long for my drinks. There are a few tables inside where you can get some work done. It's located in a small plaza with parking available. read more

The service here was quick, the baristas a re very kind and good at what they do. The cafe itself is inviting with a good amount of space to sit and study or read. If you're looking for a study spot this is definitely a rec. and the coffee makes it even more convincing. The coffee was absolutely amazing with a perfect mixture of sweet n flavorful while still maintaining the bitterness coffee has. I ordered a banana latte, first time having something like that, and it was to die for. The flavors meshed so well. Also had an order of a banana matcha and wow. No complaints. The bold matcha flavor combined so well with the banana if you haven't tried a banana matcha and want to try it get it here! Overall this cafe is probably one of the best in the Long Beach area, if you're searching for high quality coffee and matcha Cafe The Scoop needs to be placed on the list. read more

Very cute matcha cafe with all the essentials, tasty and fresh matcha drinks with adjustable sweetness levels, oat milk and almond milk and soy milk options, all kinds of tasty and fresh pastries including salty pastries like ham and cheese everything crossaint and a Jalapeño cream cheese one! And the best thing is that it's dog friendly !! We love a dog friendly cafe! The workers are so nice , the loved to say hi to our Frenchie! And the ambiance is cozy and intimate but also busy on a Saturday: nice spots to work and study, and places to charge the laptop! But tables are limited so come early!! read more

This place is busy for a reason!! The line moves quick so don't let that scare you lol. The staff is very friendly. Very cozy and aesthetic ambiance. I got the banana latte with vanilla cold foam and I totally did not expect there to be actual mushed banana at the bottom. It was so delicious!! Although I didn't get any pastries, that hazelnut croissant was eyeing me. I will be back for that. Overall 10/10 coffee shop! read more

Very consistent service. Workers always seem to be in a positive attitude, it's nice to see good customer service in such a clean store. I've never had a problem with their drinks, and their matchas are my absolute favorite. Their cafe lattes are very nice, and I could always go with their vanilla latte and never be disappointed. Visited Cafe the Scoop after seeing it on social media with their homemade cheong. The interior is very nicely decorated and feels very homey! I tried the standard matcha latte, less sweet. It was good, but not the best I've had. I would have loved to try other drinks if they had paired them with the other cheong they had (aside from strawberry). Their selection of cheong and banana pudding was intriguing. I couldn't commit to a whole cheong jar, varying prices ~$20 without knowing how it tasted though. I ended walking away with a matcha banana pudding (new). This was nicely layered but a bit on the sweet side, I couldn't finish it in one sitting. read more

Cafe The Scoop is a cute coffee shop that sells coffee, matcha, pastries, and desserts like banana pudding. Came here on a Sunday afternoon and it was busy. There is a private parking lot which is nice. It is a cute spot that is light and bright and has several tables to dine at. I ordered a Banana Matcha Latte with unsweetened matcha and a Matcha Banana Pudding. Their drinks are very customizable and staff will work with you on your preferences. The drink came out quickly and there is a fridge where you can pick the dessert you want after paying. The Banana Matcha Latte was okay. The matcha itself was good and seemed of good quality. The banana flavor did not come through at all. The Matcha Banana Pudding was good. The cake layers were a bit crumbly and did not hold together well. The Matcha layers were a little gritty. Flavors were good though, and it wasn't overly sweet. Overall, giving Cafe The Scoop a 4/5. Staff are friendly and patient. There are seasonal menus as well as their standard menu. It's nice that they also sell pastries and desserts. Space seems good to hang out at or study/work at. Would return to try other menu items. read more
One of the best cafe in Long Beach! I love their matcha drinks and the banana pudding. I got the matcha einspanner and added the banana pudding to my drink. My husband got the cold brew latte einspanner. The banana pudding is really good by itself too and the matcha banana pudding was good but had a bit of a bitter taste so I like the regular one more. Service was good and friendly! The inside is a decent size with some tables and seatings. Some cute decor. Just FYI, it can get pretty crowded! Overall, would recommend and will be back soon! read more
The mazagran drink was delicious and refreshing! The baristas were very friendly inside of this very aesthetic coffee shop on the end of a little strip mall. I plan to hit Cafe the Scoop every time I find myself back in Long Beach! read more

The customer service was top tier like the coffee. I'm very picky with my coffee and this definitely did not disappoint. Having a cookie on top of the coffee isn't only cute for pics but also super yummy. A delicious touch! Also the shop is great for studying! But, it does get busy. read more

Cafe the Scoop, a place I wanted to try among the saturated craft coffee market of socal. The cafe itself features a small amount of indoor seating, unfortunately no outdoor options. Sleek, clean, minimal and modern is precisely how I'd describe the cafe. Service was very friendly and relaxed, in the best way. I'm not sure if our barista was a bit new or had one of those little mental lapses we all occasionally experience but he did forget to call our name for our order. Not a big deal, and luckily a team mate pointed it out to him. Obviously a crew that works well together. For drinks I ordered a banana latte, hot. It was great. The latte was balanced, with a perfect ratio of espresso and banana, on oat milk which slayed. An ice strawberry latte for my wife, which I thought was great despite not being an iced coffee fan myself. My wife found it a bit strong for her taste. A hazelnut croissant was shared, crispy and buttery it was still fresh (fantastic considering it was evening). All in all a pleasant and good experience, I'll add this spot as a go-to whenever I'm craving a banana latte and in the area. read more

this cafe was BUSY!! it was around 345pm on a saturday, needed some coffee after our lunch. cute and inviting shop staff were all friendly and giving different options ordered : the signature scoop latte, iced the latte was good. a little strong for a latte but good. they were all out if their puddings, next time. parking: smaller lot, smaller spaces. but no issues with parking. read more

We came for their Anniversary BOGO 50%, it was quite busy but they were able to pump drinks quick. We tried the Banana drinks and loved it, the matcha was on the sweeter side and the coffee was just right. Cafe the scoop is a cute coffee and matcha spot in a sleepy retail center that offers rich and tasty beverages. We came here in a Sunday morning and parking was extremely easy to find since there was a private lot. I ordered the Strawberry Matcha east sweet. The nice thing is that even though they batch make the Matcha, because I wanted a sugar adjustment they whisked my matcha fresh to order but warned me it will take an extra 5 minutes. The matcha was had an amazingly deep flavor which is exactly what I look for. The jams are also made in house and I felt like I could actually taste the strawberries rather than it being a syrup bomb of sweetness. There is a secret menu item of Banana Matcha which is super tasty as well. Very intense banana flavor. This drink is thicker though likely due to the fresh banana. They also sell different flavor jams separately which I would love to come back and try again. They have a good amount of seating for studying and a bathroom. The prices felt a little high but given the fact they use fresh and high quality ingredients, I would say it's worth the price.
