Came here to knock off another coffee shop off our list in long beach. Location wise it's not in a nice bougie part of long beach let's get that out of the way. Get 2nd Street vibes out of your head. If you want good coffee and solid pastries then this is a spot to visit. There's not a lot of seating inside but enough to accommodate a few small groups. They do have a nice little patio out back if you have dogs with you and it has parking as well. All in all a solid spot good drinks and pastries which is what you're coming here for. I got the matcha tonic, it's very refreshing just make sure to mix it well. My partner got a capuchino. I don't remember what pastries we got but I remember it was nice and savory. read more

This review is based on my experience with this coffee shop from August of this year when I moved into the neighborhood until today. I was beyond excited to make it my local go to but it has just been consistently terrible service. I wish that was an exaggeration but today I ordered, gave it 20 minutes, arrived at the shop.... Ticket never even printed or looked at. Last week, same. Week before, same. You get the picture here I believe 1 single time my order was ready. On top of that, I once ordered coffee on a Monday morning on the way to work which I never do and arrived to a closed shop. I tried calling for over an hour and got no answer. Two hours later I finally get a hold of the manager who apologizes about having no staff. No problem mistakes happens instead of a refund I just asked to swing by and grab another coffee. Not sure if I didn't like it because it tasted like orange syrup with coffee but I was under the impression that it was a freshly squeezed Cara Cara orange. To be fair - I don't drink coffee. So please read this with that clear understanding. This may be the best coffee house on the planet - I don't know. Parking is a little tricky. Street parking or go thru the alley in the back for a small private lot. Enter through the door on the left. This used to be my go to shop when I would visit Long Beach and I really enjoyed it. I told all my friends to stop by before they hit the cruise terminal. We went today after our cruise arrived back in the LBC and it was just a crappy experience. Espresso shot was good not great. I asked homie if the cold brew was nitro or flat and he said nitro. I turn around for three seconds an dude drops a flat nasty iced coffee on me. Definitely not nitro and it tasted like hot coffee went to room temp then ice added. Awful. If y'all don't care anymore just say so. This is just another example of absolutely terrible business management and a lack of integrity and accountability to the customers. Shame. read more

My sister loves coming to this local coffee shop and I have to say for my first time here it was really good. I got a honey lavender latte and it was amazing!! It was the perfect amount of coffee and the perfect amount of sweetness. The blueberry donut was so good that I forgot to take a picture, I just had to eat it!! The staff was super patient with our questions and they helped us choose the perfect coffee! The service was amazing, I've been to multiple coffee shops and this has been by far the best service! LOVE coming to this place with my sister. My favorite drink is their chai latte. I truly was not expecting how flavorful the Whiskey Vanilla Latte was going to be. It was very smooth, not overly sweet. A coffee lovers dream come true. I'm not much of a Latte person, but this latte might have changed that. The barista really helped me decide on how best to order the coffee, I was going to add an extra shot, but he recommended that I taste it as is, and if I wanted an extra shot that he would remake it. Thankfully, the two shots were a great choice. Loved the service. There's a lot of high top seating and outlets around the bar. It was very clean and slicked. Small & Nice spot. I like the whiskey vanilla latte but that's about it. I've tried a few drinks but always come back to the Whiskey Vanilla Latte. Most of the staff is chill and make the drinks quick with some customer service but the big guy that works there has no urgency. The same pace whether he has 6 people in line or one. Never seen anything like it...I used to work as a barista and used to work the morning shifts. You need to pick up the pace when you have a line. I get you're alone but if I saw you hustling to get things out I wouldn't have cared about posting a review up today ... notice I didn't mention how long I waited. It's the pace that was unbelievably slow. He also gave me the wrong drink. He gave me an iced drink instead of a hot one. The city of Long Beach has become a dominant location for coffee shops, and Black Ring Coffee Roasters brings a memorable fight! We ordered an iced Whiskey Vanilla Latte with oat milk--of course. We've had alcohol as an enhancer for the smokey flavor of coffee, and Black Ring does it right. The drink had an enjoyable, smoke to it that didn't overwhelm the pallet or overshined the coffee flavor. The vanilla added the touch of needed sweetness to balance out the flavor! This drink checked in being refreshing and getting the caffeine required! Their pastries are from Cake Monkey Bakery, and have a variety of options! We had the Brown Sugar Pop Tart. It was sweet, which didn't come as a shock. But it complimented the coffee nicely! I'd prefer a more fruity and tarty flavor next time, like strawberry! This place is worth trying and a perfect homey local coffee shop for those in Long Beach. Attaining parking is difficult, but many homes are nearby.
