Guava pastry! Yesh!! I originally came here for a latte. Ended up getting some goodies. The guava was delicious ...like seriously good. It wasn't overly sweet. Very fresh! The savory one was good as well. I think it would have been better if it was still warm hehhe The latte & chai were good. Sometimes, a simple latte is so much better than the ones with all the cream top. Service was AMAZInG!!! He was so nice and helpful. I asked for recommendations. He was so patient. All my questions were answered. Very cute place with seating inside and outside. Love the atmosphere here. Thank you for a great first experience.

The merchant has been on my bookmark list for almost 5 years now. I'm super excited to day that I was able to finally check it off. I landed on the black cat latte and a cinnamon bun. This location is super trending and cool has and has a few spots to sit down to enjoy your coffee or latte. I will definitely say that the merchant is on the smaller end so I wouldn't recommend a larger party to sit and enjoy your coffee, we were a group of four, and it was a little tight. However, each drink that we got was really good, I very much enjoyed the espresso that they used in their latte drinks. Overall, the merchant is a great location. I can't wait to see what seasonal drinks they come out with in the future.

I have been wanting to come here for a long time. My kids gifted me a gift card and I finally went on a weekday. There was so much construction going on and parking was terrible but I managed to find some in the residential area. There is outdoor seating and very limited indoor seating. The place itself is super cute and I really want to go back already. I love their decor. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by the baristas. The gentleman that helped us at the cashier was extremely friendly, his smile, his attitude and mannerisms were beyond friendly and professional. I have to give him his kudos, because a lot of businesses don't have employees like this anymore. We were not ready, so we let someone go ahead of us. There was so much to order, but I decided to just get two drinks and the jalapeño cheese croissant. I have to say the jalapeño cheese croissant is my favorite. The bread was so warm, flaky, and that cheese and jalapeño were just enough. They did not skimp out on this. Our drinks were SOOOO GREAT! I got the honey vanilla oat latte with the banana cold foam. Yes the cashier guy helped me and I absolutely love all his suggestions. He also suggested the cheddar jalapeño croissant. My daughter got a chai tea latte and we LOVED our drinks. I must come back very soon. I regret not buying some of the treats like the rose cookies and fruity pebble rice crispies that I saw on display. While we were waiting for our drinks outside, the cashier came out to bring us our croissant. I also noticed the trolley outside, which I read serves chili in a bowl on certain days. All around, this place gets five stars + and I can't wait to be back!

    The cute inside.

Once upon a time, this Faerie Queen and Dear son were out and about and needed some sustenance. We wanted to try something new in Long Beach. What a delightful place! The Axl Rose coffee, cinnamon roll, and cinnamon bomb were amazing. Yes, this is a lovely cafe! Only wish the I side was bigger! The end.

    I got also this.

I saw this place on Yelp and I wanted to visit. Such a cute place and good decorations. I got large Vanilla honey oat with cold form and it was so yum. Also got a huge cinnamon roll. I haven't tried it yet but looks nice. The lady at cashier was very friendly and helped me to pick drink. She is awesome!!! I'm in love with this place and can't want to go back again.

Found this local spot while searching for coffee shops in Long Beach. Location is small, literally 6 seats inside and some outdoor benches. No parking lot and limited street parking. Reasonably priced coffee and pastries averaging around $6-7. Service was quick and friendly. Solid coffee shop!

Such a lovely place, I was hosting some friends over for brunch and decided to stop in for pastries. I ordered quite a few things. The zucchini muffins are amazing, also their banana chocolate chip bread was awesome. Croissants did not disappoint. The service was great and they made sure to warm everything up for us. It's such a cute and quaint spot. I would definitely return back.

I was in the Long Beach area for a chiro appointment and decided to find a coffee spot for a quick pick me up. Found this place via yelp. Let's begin with service: - the two baristas behind the bar were kind and courteous. Atmosphere: - cute shop. It's a nice place to sit/bask in the sun while enjoying your beverages/food. - the parking, sucks. You need to street park and it's quite the hassle. The food and pricing: - out of the four items I tried, the coffee and the cookie were the winners. The spinach croissant was decent, there was nothing spectacular about it. All the items weren't cheap but the three mentioned above were "normally/ decently priced." - the bacon scone however, was a joke. It was almost 5 dollars and the size of half my palm. Definitely inflated and not worth getting.

Really cute & cozy coffee shop! Not so many tables inside, but there were a few inside. There was quite a line, but it went by quickly. The staff were also really friendly! I got a usual latte and it was good! The blueberry muffin was also the perfect amount of sweet and paired well with the coffee. I need to go back and try other drinks and their food. They had a lot of pastries that looked amazing. There was a good amount of street parking around!

We were in the area when I found this coffee spot. I checked the reviews and decided to give it a try. Parking was easy to find. (We came on a Wednesday around 11am) The inside of the cafe is very small, there is a table or two for seating but when ordering or looking to see what you're gonna get is awkwardly small. The open side to the left of the pastries is where you order. Then you get redirected to the right where the cashier is at to pay. Customer service was 10/10 !!! We ordered - Iced vanilla honey oatmilk latte: 10/10 perfection!!! Caramel latte: 10/10 Iced horchata latte: 10/10 Iced mocha: 10/10 Spinach quiche: 8.5/10 (ate it with the red salsa from the burritos and it was bomb!!!) Everything croissant: 10/10 my daughter is a very picky eater and she devoured it. A must have again when we come back! Now, for the burritos outside. The young guy working it 10/10 friendly customer service. They only offer two kinds of burritos "the morning mariner" and the "sunny sailor". I ordered one of each but "the sunny sailor was sold out" and there was only one of the "morning mariner" and it was barely 11am!! Happy for him to have sold out but really wanted to try both. The "morning mariner" was a 100000/10 !! The red salsa that came with it was also a 10000/10 !! I highly recommend this place!! I do not live close but this is a coffee spot I will be coming back to!! Especially for the honey oatmilk latte and the burritos!!

Great coffee spot in the Bixby Knolls area of Long Beach. They have plenty of outdoor seating and a smaller indoor space, which keeps things cozy. The pastries are delicious, and they offer a nice variety of specialty coffees. Street parking is free and usually easy to find. One thing to note--there's no Wi-Fi, likely due to the limited indoor seating and to keep tables turning. Still, it's a great place to get some work done or meet up with colleagues.

I am so happy I finally tried the Merchant. This place truly is worth the hype. I've ordered a few pastries from here and they're all so delicious. Their spinach Gouda pastry was so flakey and reminded me of a fancy spanakopita. I also tried their chocolate chip cookie and dare I say it's one of the best ones I've ever had. All the major cookie companies are getting a run for their money with this one. If you want a special pastry like their banana chocolate chip pancake banana bread, I suggest you stop by in the morning. They were completely sold out of pastries by noon. They also serve breakfast sandwich's and made to order burritos. I ordered the Vanilla Honey iced coffee with strawberry cold foam. The cold foam tastes like strawberry nesquick. The coffee is very rich and perfect for someone with a sweet tooth. My only issue with this place is that you place your order with one person and then pay with another when they're barely a few feet apart. I feel like it makes the process more complicated than it needs to be and makes the wait time worse. Especially since the ordering area is a bit cramped. The interior and exterior design of the shop is so cute. It has a very calm and small town feel to it. They also have plenty of street parking in the area. Give this place a try! You won't regret it.

London Fog -- Large, Iced with Oatmilk Blueberry Muffin
    Lesly A.

Great place to check out! Went around 10:30 AM on a Sunday so definitely a busy time, but the service was quick and the line moved fast. We were able to get a seat inside -- at first I was worried that it would be too loud inside because of the space. But nope! It didn't feel too much at all. It was my first time there and there was a sense of community in it just because of how friendly the staff were. Besides that I loved what I got (the iced London Fog - large with oat milk and a blueberry muffin) and all of that rounded out to about $14.66. This felt pretty average for the area/ LA. Would definitely come again on a nice day.

    What are their sourdough options?

The times I've been there i'm not sure I have seen bread/loaves options in there, but I can be wrong, what I have I've seen sweet & savory pastries/treats on their shelf

How many bathrooms do you have?

I've seen one bathroom for customers

Are there outlets available for use out on the patio for remote working?

Unfortunately there is not any plugs outside! They also do not have wifi available for guests to use so just something to keep in mind!

When will you make challah again?

Is this a good place to come read a book or is it more get-in/get-out?

Perfect place to read a book. I would recommend mid afternoon when things have slowed down.

Do you have gluten free and vegan options? Also, do you have tea?

The sign on the building says Tea so yes they have tea.

    Any gluten free options?

Hello, No at this moment we’ve been working on vegan options lately and will soon move over to gluten free. Thanks for being patient with us.

    Do you allow dogs inside?

Service dogs - yes by law Other than that I am not completely sure.

Any Vegan Options? What about non dairy creamer?

Yes! Our sourdough, baguettes, and whole wheat batards are all vegan :)

    Be there soon?

I'm just a couple of minutes.

Odd behavior to tell someone what they can and can't do at an establishment considering it's called a coffee AND wine bar. Maybe this is something to advertise on your yelp and website but a "laptop free zone" after 4pm is pretty ridiculous for potential customers who were just looking to eat and work. I almost feel like he just told me that because I was going to order a salad and a non alcoholic beverage and wasn't planning on ordering much. As the other 1 star reviews mention "pretentious behavior" so it's either the cashier or whoever it was is being pretentious as others mentioned or RACIST... Kinda odd to dictate what I do on my own accord while I'm a patron at your establishment. If I ordered food and a drink but chose to open my laptop, are you going to ask me to leave? Doesn't really seem customer centric. Considering that I've worked on my laptop at dine-in restaurants, it's pretty odd behavior to display. Also, considering that this is not a club, and there's no live music, and there were only 3 people sitting in there, I think I would have been fine to sit there quietly in a corner with my laptop. 1 star for the experience and weird behavior.
