Cute little coffee shop in North Long Beach! I had the Honey Oat Latte and tried my partner's Whiskey Vanilla latte and both were delicious. I was nervous that the whiskey vanilla latte was going to be tooo sweet but it was perfect. We also had the chorizo croissant from the display case and was pleasantly surprised to find that it was sliced chorizo - definitely recommend getting this if it's available. The barista was super friendly and helpful. It's everything you want in your neighborhood coffee shop. read more

Black Ring Coffee Roasters - Chorizo Croissant + Whiskey Vanilla Latte - Coffee Roasteries Near Me - Long Beach, California

A small coffee shop located in Long Beach, CA. Black Ring Coffee Roasters, a fluorescent, woody coffee shop caught our attention with a pleasant indoor ambiance and rich flavors . The city of Long Beach has become a dominant location for coffee shops, and Black Ring Coffee Roasters brings a memorable fight! We ordered an iced Whiskey Vanilla Latte with oat milk--of course. We've had alcohol as an enhancer for the smokey flavor of coffee, and Black Ring does it right. The drink had an enjoyable, smoke to it that didn't overwhelm the pallet or overshined the coffee flavor. The vanilla added the touch of needed sweetness to balance out the flavor! This drink checked in being refreshing and getting the caffeine required! Their pastries are from Cake Monkey Bakery, and have a variety of options! We had the Brown Sugar Pop Tart. It was sweet, which didn't come as a shock. But it complimented the coffee nicely! I'd prefer a more fruity and tarty flavor next time, like strawberry! This place is worth trying and a perfect homey local coffee shop for those in Long Beach. Attaining parking is difficult, but many homes are nearby. There are so many options and have more on their menu online! Let us know what you tried! read more

Super solid coffee shop. This one's in my rotation of favorites. I definitely recommend it.

I can't deny the coffee is nearly always consistent and always good but service seems hostile. You come in there by eight dollar coffee and you get no greeting or a simple hello how are you? I'm not expecting to have a full-blown conversation but I'll have some type of hospitality for people to wanna come back. and for that very simple reason is that I won't be coming back. read more

Black Ring is underrated!! Kinda glad though because then I don't have to wait in line.. is that selfish? Haha my favorite is their Whiskey Vanilla Latte...so good! I also love the mini vegan donuts. Interior is nice, I always love sitting by the "bar" area and watching the baristas make the drinks. I've also tried their beans for my espresso machine!! I've had some good coffee at home because of their beans. Overall, solid coffee spot! read more

Hubby was curious about Black Ring Coffee Roasters and I've always wanted to check it out because I often drive past this place. Parking was fairly easy on a Saturday around 11:30am. We scored street parking in front of the laundromat. Don't park in the lot for the laundromat though...they'll tow you. If we didn't find that spot on Long Beach Blvd., there's also parking behind the coffee shop which can be accessed through the alleyway. I ordered the Baby Yoda iced made with matcha, Mexican vanilla, cinnamon, cayenne, and nutmeg. The upgrade for almond milk is an extra $0.75 on the 12oz drink. Flavorful! I've never thought to mix matcha with cinnamon and nutmeg before but it works. http://bit.ly/3GhIraz Hubby ordered the Whiskey Vanilla Latte. He said it was good. The vibe here is very hip and a bit minimalist. There are small potted succulents near the entrance. There's artwork on the wall showing the names of various local coffee shops in Long Beach. I dig the non-competitive energy. Love the supportive community for small business coffee spots. So it didn't surprise me that this place also sells vegan baked donuts from Caffeinated Kitchen which I see at most local coffee places. http://bit.ly/3Xhz294 Towards the back of the shop is a vending machine filled with games, greeting cards, and random nostalgia. Out the back door is a small patio with picnic tables on astroturf. I like this place and would likely check it out again. The staff was friendly. Nice neighborhood spot! read more

Delicious coffee! A real coffee place, but someone like myself who isn't huge into coffee can find something I love. The chocolate in the mocha was divine! #89 in my Coffeeshop Chronicles. Black Ring is a hipster coffeeshop with mediocre coffee. I was excited to try the whiskey vanilla latte but it really wasn't anything remarkable in my opinion. Moreover, I had brought my dog so one of the employees suggested I enjoy my drink on their patio out back. Sure no problem - I totally get that. EXCEPT the "patio" they asked me to go to was filthy and covered in trash. In the end I threw out my mediocre latte and looked up other coffeeshops nearby I could hit up instead. ******************** My Ratings: 1 Star: Terrible; just thinking about it makes me angry. 2 Stars: Wasn't a fan so Not likely to return. 3 Stars: Meh. Average. Might return if others drag me. 4 Stars: Yum! Likely to return. 5 Stars: Amazing! Would plan my day around it. read more

Thought I'd try this place out since it has a pretty good rating I tried their oat honey latte and an earl grey crème soda as well as the lychee rose soda. Latte was ok Gave sodas to my sons and they hated them said they tasted like chemicals I tried them and have to agree with them tasted like watered down alka seltzer with a little bit of flavoring most likely will not be back read more

I would love to give this place a 5 star review for the absolutely delicious coffee but I have to give it a 3 for the poor service! I've come in here several times and I'm a chatter box butterfly but every single employee that I've encountered has been so DRY to the point where it's almost rude and awkward.. I thought after a few times, well maybe it's just me, then my husband grabbed me a coffee and (with out telling him about my experience) he told me the staff was very short, not talkative and a little rude to him as well.. so after he told me this, I just feel I have to give my feedback in hopes that there can be some improvements in this area because the coffee is AMAZING! I live and work down the street and I'd much rather support a small business then take my money to Starbucks but at least there, they are really friendly and uplifting! read more

Thoroughly enjoyed my iced Whiskey Vanilla Latte! 10/10. I got mine with oat milk and it was delicious! I've had soooooooo many vanilla lattes and this one definitely is high on my list. Love the brick interior and overall vibe of this place. The baristas know what they're doing! It's run efficiently and orderly. A lot of people came in and out of this place ... so, I knew this place was going to be special. I read that you shouldn't park in the laundromat parking lot, so, I didn't. However, parking is not an issue because there's plenty on the street. Or at least I didn't have an issue on a Saturday morning. They had a Star Wars menu which was super cute. I love a good theme ... how creative and fun! Not certain if those drinks are still available but how stinkin' cute that they made a special menu for Star Wars Day! Last note: I love the lid that came with the drink. The design is on point. Of course, one of the drinks spilled and instead of the drink spilling and getting on my car; it just stayed on top because of the raised/ heightened design of the lid. Thank you! Very thoughtful design. read more

Hidden gem, the coffee is amazing, like something you'd find in Venice Beach. The manager was super friendly and obviously a coffee master talking about the science behind mineralizing water and the roasting they do in house. Try the Mexico Marachi blend, sweet, smooth with a touch of citrus/floral accents, no bitterness at all. Super good. read more

Coffee is really good, never flat or burnt. I just wouldn't come here because the service is shaky. It's often empty, and quiet. Which just makes the rude service even louder. Baristas can make you feel like a burden. People will not enjoy a great cup of coffee if it's served with a nasty attitude. read more

Great service!! Baristas were super friendly. The ambiance is really cool. The coffee was really good but the matcha was okay.

Came back cause the coffee was good but I won't anymore. Walked in around 8am, dude at the counter doesn't say morning or anything AGAIN but proceeded to tell me how to open the door. Only person in there and he gets my coffee order wrong. Nice. read more

Check this out! 1. This shop makes in house syrups for all their drinks which is pretty hard to find in LA county! 2. If you order a large drink they automatically give you 3shots of espresso instead of charging you like most of the other coffee shops do. 3. The coffee is delicious I have tried over 4 different lattes and the burnt caramel is my favorite! read more

Black Ring Coffee Roasters is conveniently located kinda close to the freeway exit. It's next door to a laundromat so that part is extremely convenient. How lucky are the people in the neighborhood to have this awesome coffee place near them?! Their HOT LATTE is great. Their WHISKEY VANILLA LATTE is fantastic! That's how we ended up buying a bag of beans too just to double check that the coffee really is as good as we remember and it is. Street parking is not a problem. Parking in the strip mall next to the coffee shop will be because the tenants there will totally give you a hard time. read more

I would like to call this place a diamond in the ruff , but I have a feeling I got the late card on this spot since over 200 reviews have confirmed it so. It was my first time trying this place since the previous place I went to didn't take my money. I called ahead since I didn't want to wander aimlessly through long beach trying to find my caffeine kick since i'm from Torrance. They were pleasant enough to answer my questions about their menu and I found their whiskey vanilla latte delicious. The coffee shop is in an area of long beach i've never been to but the vibe gave me cool and cozy all the way. Thanks for the experience Black Ring! read more

Consistently on the "Best coffee" lists,it was my pleasure to venture out to North Long Beach for a cup of coffee at Black Ring Roasters. We had wonderful service, met really nice people and enjoyed gazing at the great art on the walls and the selections in the Moonlight Vending machine. I even purchased a bag of freshly roasted Ethiopian so I could enjoy their great coffee at home! I even plan to make this a regular stop on my coffee shop rotation. read more

This coffee shop doesn't seem like it would belong in this area since it's not surrounded by other food businesses but I'm happy to know there is a place like this in North LB that also has very urban & artistic vibes to it. The barista/cashier working was very nice and there wasn't any wait on a weekday afternoon. There were 2 patrons sitting at the table inside in a video call/meeting working on their laptops. I ordered the Whiskey Vanilla latte. They had bakery goods in the display case that were tempting to order but I resisted. I browsed around while waiting & saw they had a cute vending machine w/ unique items in it you wouldn't typically see in one. I also noticed the back door led to a back alley area where they also had a sign for additional seating where there were benches. There is street curbside parking in front on Market St or on the other neighborhood street but I think it was green so shoor other signs had a 2 hour limit. There might be further parking with longer hours. read more

Thank goodness for finding coffee on my way back from Torrance. It was a nice little spot and parking was plenty in front. I got the iced Mexican mocha with oat milk and the spiced donut. I definitely want to come back to enjoy their other items and maybe get some work done. read more

This one is long overdue. The coffee scene in Long Beach has been evolving in the past several years. We've got great shops joining the area such as Stereoscope and Common Room, and smaller players like Ground Hideout, Confidential, and Wolf's Brew. Even with such a vibrant and booming coffee community, Black Ring Coffee still shines as one of my go-to roasters of great coffee, whether for home brewing or crafted in-house. The shop is undeniably Long beach in feel, with lots of local artists and vendors that display their goods on the walls or during pop-ups. The coffee flavors are consistent and approachable. My favorites single origins from them would be the Colombia Nariño, Uganda Rwenzori, and Ethiopia Limu. When stopping by for a drink, I can't avoid getting the silky smooth nitro cold brew that has a lot of depth you wouldn't typically expect from cold brew. p.s. I miss the old black/gold and the blue/yellow coffee bag designs p.s.s check out the skateboard collar on their chemex! so cool. read more

I love finding new coffee shops and this one is a true gem. Decided to try this place out since it was in my local area and I was in the mood for a latte! I ordered the Whiskey Vanilla Latte with Oatmilk (it has bourbon extract flavoring) soooo good! It's an elevated vanilla latte that I would absolutely order again. It seems to be on their seasonal fall menu, so I'll definitely be back before it's discontinued. There's no seating or anything due to Covid. It's very clean inside and service was quick.
