The city of Long Beach has become a dominant location for coffee shops, and Black Ring Coffee Roasters brings a memorable fight! We ordered an iced Whiskey Vanilla Latte with oat milk--of course. We've had alcohol as an enhancer for the smokey flavor of coffee, and Black Ring does it right. The drink had an enjoyable, smoke to it that didn't overwhelm the pallet or overshined the coffee flavor. The vanilla added the touch of needed sweetness to balance out the flavor! This drink checked in being refreshing and getting the caffeine required! Their pastries are from Cake Monkey Bakery, and have a variety of options! We had the Brown Sugar Pop Tart. It was sweet, which didn't come as a shock. But it complimented the coffee nicely! I'd prefer a more fruity and tarty flavor next time, like strawberry! This place is worth trying and a perfect homey local coffee shop for those in Long Beach. Attaining parking is difficult, but many homes are nearby. Black Ring is underrated!! Kinda glad though because then I don't have to wait in line.. is that selfish? Haha my favorite is their Whiskey Vanilla Latte...so good! I also love the mini vegan donuts. Interior is nice, I always love sitting by the "bar" area and watching the baristas make the drinks. I've also tried their beans for my espresso machine!! Delicious coffee! A real coffee place, but someone like myself who isn't huge into coffee can find something I love. The chocolate in the mocha was divine! Hubby was curious about Black Ring Coffee Roasters and I've always wanted to check it out because I often drive past this place. Parking was fairly easy on a Saturday around 11:30am. We scored street parking in front of the laundromat. Don't park in the lot for the laundromat though...they'll tow you. If we didn't find that spot on Long Beach Blvd., there's also parking behind the coffee shop which can be accessed through the alleyway. I ordered the Baby Yoda iced made with matcha, Mexican vanilla, cinnamon, cayenne, and nutmeg. The upgrade for almond milk is an extra $0.75 on the 12oz drink. Flavorful! Thought I'd try this place out since it has a pretty good rating I tried their oat honey latte and an earl grey crème soda as well as the lychee rose soda. Latte was ok Gave sodas to my sons and they hated them said they tasted like chemicals I tried them and have to agree with them tasted like watered down alka seltzer with a little bit of flavoring most likely will not be back read more

I would love to give this place a 5 star review for the absolutely delicious coffee but I have to give it a 3 for the poor service! I've come in here several times and I'm a chatter box butterfly but every single employee that I've encountered has been so DRY to the point where it's almost rude and awkward.. I thought after a few times, well maybe it's just me, then my husband grabbed me a coffee and (with out telling him about my experience) he told me the staff was very short, not talkative and a little rude to him as well.. so after he told me this, I just feel I have to give my feedback in hopes that there can be some improvements in this area because the coffee is AMAZING! Moreover, I had brought my dog so one of the employees suggested I enjoy my drink on their patio out back. Sure no problem - I totally get that. EXCEPT the "patio" they asked me to go to was filthy and covered in trash. Thoroughly enjoyed my iced Whiskey Vanilla Latte! 10/10. I got mine with oat milk and it was delicious! I've had soooooooo many vanilla lattes and this one definitely is high on my list. Love the brick interior and overall vibe of this place. The baristas know what they're doing! It's run efficiently and orderly. A lot of people came in and out of this place ... so, I knew this place was going to be special. I read that you shouldn't park in the laundromat parking lot, so, I didn't. However, parking is not an issue because there's plenty on the street. Or at least I didn't have an issue on a Saturday morning. They had a Star Wars menu which was super cute. I love a good theme ... how creative and fun! Not certain if those drinks are still available but how stinkin' cute that they made a special menu for Star Wars Day! Last note: I love the lid that came with the drink. The design is on point. Hidden gem, the coffee is amazing, like something you'd find in Venice Beach. The manager was super friendly and obviously a coffee master talking about the science behind mineralizing water and the roasting they do in house. Coffee is really good, never flat or burnt. I just wouldn't come here because the service is shaky. It's often empty, and quiet. Which just makes the rude service even louder. Stopped by for a coffee pick up. Ordered a lavender latte and whiskey vanilla latte iced, both were delicious. You can the taste the quality flavor of the coffee. Chill vibes, with plenty of seating with many outlets along the side of the wall. Important to note they also have pastries from Nonna Mercato. There's also outdoor seating in the back in their parking lot area. Didn't ask about WiFi but will be sure to ask on my next visit. read more

Black Ring Coffee Roasters is conveniently located kinda close to the freeway exit. It's next door to a laundromat so that part is extremely convenient. How lucky are the people in the neighborhood to have this awesome coffee place near them?! Their HOT LATTE is great. Their WHISKEY VANILLA LATTE is fantastic! That's how we ended up buying a bag of beans too just to double check that the coffee really is as good as we remember and it is. Street parking is not a problem. It was my first time trying this place since the previous place I went to didn't take my money. I called ahead since I didn't want to wander aimlessly through long beach trying to find my caffeine kick since i'm from Torrance. This coffee shop doesn't seem like it would belong in this area since it's not surrounded by other food businesses but I'm happy to know there is a place like this in North LB that also has very urban & artistic vibes to it. The barista/cashier working was very nice and there wasn't any wait on a weekday afternoon. There were 2 patrons sitting at the table inside in a video call/meeting working on their laptops. I ordered the Whiskey Vanilla latte. They had bakery goods in the display case that were tempting to order but I resisted. I browsed around while waiting & saw they had a cute vending machine w/ unique items in it you wouldn't typically see in one. I also noticed the back door led to a back alley area where they also had a sign for additional seating where there were benches. There is street curbside parking in front on Market St or on the other neighborhood street but I think it was green so shoor other signs had a 2 hour limit. This one is long overdue. The coffee scene in Long Beach has been evolving in the past several years. We've got great shops joining the area such as Stereoscope and Common Room, and smaller players like Ground Hideout, Confidential, and Wolf's Brew. Even with such a vibrant and booming coffee community, Black Ring Coffee still shines as one of my go-to roasters of great coffee, whether for home brewing or crafted in-house. The shop is undeniably Long beach in feel, with lots of local artists and vendors that display their goods on the walls or during pop-ups. The coffee flavors are consistent and approachable. My favorites single origins from them would be the Colombia Nariño, Uganda Rwenzori, and Ethiopia Limu. When stopping by for a drink, I can't avoid getting the silky smooth nitro cold brew that has a lot of depth you wouldn't typically expect from cold brew. p.s. I love finding new coffee shops and this one is a true gem. Decided to try this place out since it was in my local area and I was in the mood for a latte! I ordered the Whiskey Vanilla Latte with Oatmilk (it has bourbon extract flavoring) soooo good! It's an elevated vanilla latte that I would absolutely order again. The 3 stars are for the visual appeal. This is a traditional "hipster " coffee shop. They have a really unique machine with cute nick nacks for all. *Pictures will be uploaded later** They sell new and used records and store merchandise. Opium walking in you'll notice the menu only list the basic coffee and tea drinks. The baristas can make just about anything, or at least that's the implication. So for I've only tried a Chai tea and Matcha latte, all I can say is their oat milk is amazing, as that was the only thing I could taste in both drinks. Now onto the good stuff!!! The jalapeños croissant is amazing!! Just make sure to ask for it too be warmed. I believe in a 3 strike rule, so I will give them another chance.
