This is truly a hidden gem, I understand why everyone loves this place. Upon entering it's a humble shop that's community centered, promoting unity and assistance to all, a safe space for all walks of life to enjoy an excellent coffee, matcha, tea or pastry. The lady that helped me was super nice and recommended a latte with Cafe de olla syrup, when I say that it's delicious, it's freakin delicious! I also ordered a Hibiscus Lavender Tea and man! That thing is refreshing and tasty! Highly recommend this place for anyone in the area, it's a 20/10!
After moving a bit closer.. I frequently visit.. I bounce back-and-forth between the ice vanilla latte with oat milk and the hot vanilla latte with oat milk. The vegan coffee cake is really tasty and they warm it on site for you. The chocolate chip cookie is always a treat if they have it you should definitely get one since my first visit I have started to order online as well. They are very prompt with the service and I'm always greeted with a friendly smile. the coffee shop is always clean and inviting dogs are welcomed as well.
This establishment is next to a park. It was such a nice find, right after dropping off the boy I came to enjoy a hot oat milk latte with a splash of cafe de olla house made syrup. Friendly staff and strong coffee. I will return.
It's hard to find good 4th wave type single origin coffee in LA unless you're in the pocket of DTLA, Echo Park and out west towards Santa Monica. It's great to see Patria in this part of town that has great quality single origin coffee. Located alongside the Alameda Corridor, you wouldn't expect such a place in a semi industrial area. The cold brew here serving up coffee beans from Nicaragua was smooth and refreshing. Seating here somewhat minimal with patrons on their computers and chilling. While you're here, check out the Kobe/Gianna mural next door at Wilson Park and the defunct skatepark.
While driving home, we noticed this coffee shop and I'm so happy we decided to stop by! Coffee 8/10 We ordered an iced cafe de olla and a quad Ibarra mex mocha. Both were soo flavorful. I will say, the cafe de olla is very spice forward. I taste a lot of cloves and star anise. A bit different than others I've had but I really liked it. The mex mocha was smooth and rich. I did see that their slushies are highly rated and now that it's getting hot, we'll def be back to try them! Food 10/10 They don't have food items on their menu but there are baked goods! We ordered a cream croissant looking muffin and a chocolate chip cookie. Both were warmed up and were absolutely delicious. Vibes/Ambiance : 10/10 We came on a Friday morning and it wasn't too busy. There were people working there as they have free wifi and outlets. The decor and vibe is cute! They have art on the walls, pictures, plants, community flyers/events, and statements that make you feel safe and at home. The staff is so friendly and welcoming too! There is a little parking lot right next to the shop and we didn't find it hard to find a spot. There is a park next door so I can imagine on the weekends, parking might be a bit tricker. Loved that we found a local gem like Patria and will def be back!

I stayed for couple hours and then grabbed an ice lavender hibiscus tea on my way out, it was fragrant and delicious. I'll definitely be returning.
Parking in the little lot next to the shop was difficult to find on a Saturday morning (11-12pm) but check down the street, adjacent to the park. Menu is simple with the classics (espresso, americanos, cappuccinos, and lattes) and some speciality coffees like the Ibarra Mex Mocha. Prices are pretty reasonable - especially for the quality. It was busy when I went in so wait time was about 10-15 mins after ordering. I also bought one of their syrups - not really sure how much I paid for it but maybe about $15? That was a little pricey but the taste was good too. A little heavy on the spices, but I prefer it.

I believe I've coming to Patria since 2018 and the reason I keep coming back is always due to the great tasting coffee, nostalgic memories of growing up in Compton and when visiting family nearby. I love the new tables and chairs and little succulents. The barista's are always very friendly and the music is chill and they have a little book shelf with games and toys for little kids. I highly recommend their iced Americano, Cortado, Cappuccino and Cold Brrew with Oat Milk!
Was in the mood for some coffee before work but did not want to get st*rbucks. Wanted something more niche and found this place! I ordered a hot Cafe de Olla Latte w/ oatmilk, and it did not disappoint. It's a cafe where you would want to come in & sit down to get some work/studying done because it's cozy and the service is great!
Cute lil spot, was down the street waiting on some food and good ole yelp led me to patria. Service is good, love the decor, homage to the people, local vendors set up and they have their own organic beans. I should have ordered my regular vanilla latte and then I looked at my what they are known for the cafe de olla, so I ordered a warm 1 shot of espresso cafe de olla latte ... it needed to be a lil sweeter for me, it was strong. I will certainly be back and order a VL. Uhhhh I also got their ham and cheese croissant, bomb! French cheese and ham, yummy.
Great coffee, and the coffee cake was really good. I would definitely comeback this is my wife and I first time here .

Absolutely loved this coffee shop! The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and full of character. I especially loved the beautiful artwork, the coffee bags used as part of the décor, all the plants, and the little community library by the window. You can tell there is so much culture and thought behind the space. The coffee selection is great, and the staff made the experience feel even more welcoming. It's a perfect spot to enjoy a good cup of coffee, relax, study, or simply spend some quiet time. Definitely a hidden gem and a place I'll be coming back to! read more

There's a lot I want to say about this spot but I'm a try and keep it short lol My first time visiting was this past Sunday, May 31st. I had my whole day planned out with a list of events to attend but first I wanted to stop by Patria and grab some coffee to start my morning off. Located in a parking lot next to Wilson Park on Compton Blvd and Alameda Street you'll find this nice cut lawn in front of this small white building, Patria Coffee Roaster. Depending on your time of arrival, the parking lot can be full but it's cool cuz there's also street parking available. I was able to park in the lot. After walking in I was welcomed and greeted with positive energy from 2 young ladies who I forgot their names but we'll just call them "A" and "C" lol. A guy to my right was sitting next to the window working on his laptop. And two others against the wall sipping their coffees and doing whatever on their phones. A customer was at the register ordering while another customer walked in to stand in line behind me. I let her go in front of me while I took pics and recorded footage. I like the atmosphere and space a lot. It has a very nice decor. Artwork, pictures and murals with history displayed along the walls. Grab and cold drinks available for purchase. Nice music playing that wasn't too loud but just right to complement a chill coffee shop vibe. "A" was friendly and patient as shared with her this was my first visit. As I browsed thru the coffee menu before making my selection I noticed more costumes coming in. I ordered a medium sized Americano which is $3.75 but I requested to add some hazelnut creamer as well as some almond milk which totaled out to $4.75 which was quite exceptional to me. Giving the location, the quality of service and the quality of the coffee. Not to mention to overall experience. I even thru in a $1 tip. I support the business and love the space. It feels welcoming and safe. The restroom was clean. They also have many different events held there. If you're ever in the area definitely pull up and check em' out. It's black owned as well. I actually ended up sitting there in the lot sipping my coffee while working on my video to post on social media. The coffee was good and tasteful. Didn't need any sugar. Great vibes and great coffee. You can even go the park right next door and get your steps in or just chill. I definitely recommend coming here. If you're passing thru the area or coming to the city, do yourself a favor and pull up. Check em' out. Grab you a coffee or something. Prices are reasonable and the community is welcoming to all individuals. read more

When I like something I'll indulged in it until I need a break, and the cafe de olla latte is my current muse. Incredible cafe in Compton! My friends and I stopped here on our way through town, and we were not disappointed. This local spot was super busy, with customers and their pets everywhere. I loved the bearded dragon!! I loved the equality support billboards and local business support. There was also a nice little library section. The coffee was amazing, and the workers seemed really nice. Great spot and would come again. read more

This was a super small cafe! Parking was super limited and the cafe was not busy. The staff were super friendly and the service was extremely fast. We ordered the Vanilla Bean Iced Latte and the Hazelnut Iced Latte and both were really tasty. They both had a lot of flavor, but the vanilla latte could have been a bit more creamy! When we got there they didn't have a great selection of snack items to choose from so we only got the coffee. This cafe is a bit far from us so we unfortunately wouldn't be back unless we were in the area, but we are glad that we went to try it out! read more

This coffee shop is located right by the court house and in the Compton neighborhood There's plenty of parking outside There's lots of space to sit to chat or work inside The aesthetic is clean, and lots of plants inside. For a small local coffee shop They have a good selection of coffees, teas, and pastries. I got the cafe de olla iced with oat milk It was so delicious too the last drop. It was creamy, nice hint of cardamom I will definitely be back! read more

When I arrived I was greeted by Ellie, at the door who was actually hanging a yelp sticker on the window. She was very nice and pleasant. I was unsure of what to order and so I explained to her the flavor I was looking for, and she was able to tell me what to order and how to enhance the flavor that I was looking for. I ordered the Ibarra Mex Mocha with a splash of vanilla. It was perfect, not bitter and not sweet just perfect. Also ordered a croissant, I believe it was the everything croissant, which was outstanding. The ambience was nice and trendy. It did not feel like Compton. It felt like an Echo Park or Eagle Rock atmosphere. Way better than Starbucks. read more
I ordered the Ibarra Mex Mocha, which was pretty good. This is a nice small coffee shop with a hip vibe with decent amount of seating. The staff is friendly and is able to handle a big crowd and online orders. They really love their job and enjoy conversations with their customers, that was really nice to see. read more

Came here on a Saturday afternoon to get some tea and coffee and to check this place out. I am not a coffee drinker so I got their Citrus Chamomile ($4) iced. It was very refreshing, but I'm not sure I could taste the citrus part of it. Way more Chamomile in my opinion. My husband got an Americano with a Cafe De Olla syrup ($3.75). The syrup tasted like a horchata! So combined with the coffee, which had a nice layer of cinnamon on top, my husband thought it was delicious. It was also iced. The menu isn't extensive, but they have a good selection of coffee and syrups. They also have a kids section with hot chocolate and slushies. There's some chairs and tables inside for people to relax and sit down. The cashier was really friendly and helped us pick out something she thought we'd like. They also offer baked goods like big chocolate chip cookies and breads but we didn't try any. Parking is easy as there's a lot next to them. read more

The Ibarra Chocolate Latte was SO good. Sweet, but not overly so. We got some kinda of pastry (forgot the name) it was a croissant with lemon custard, really good. They have places to charge your laptop. Overall, really good new find. read more

Pretty good coffee- cortadito is especially good. Fantastic service. About 5-6 small tables- quiet for work/reading. Not really a chatty vibe when we went. Small lot to the side. Just be cautious of not leaving any valuables in the car as there were some sketchy people when we parked Would come back when in the area, but nothing I've craved since read more

4++ great neighborhood coffee shop that has fun, chill vibes, and enthusiastic service. There's fun decor inside and looks like a place where people can hang out or get some reading and/or work done. I only got an Americano or drip from here (with added cream), so I can't really speak to the food items or any of the more complex, possibly more sugary drinks here. It looks like they roast their own beans here as well. I had a lot of coffee at home at the time of my visit, so I didn't buy a bag. I might have to come back and grab one. Parking was easy to find. There's a lot on the side of the building. If the lot is full, I'm pretty sure you could find street parking close by. read more
Patria is a hidden gem. Matcha Latte - I'll be honest not my favorite matcha, I like my matcha intense and earthy, and this one tasted a bit flat. But after reading reviews I think i should have ordered the coffee because everyone seems to be saying that it's better. I'll try that next time. A good place if you want a chill quiet place to study and get some work done. Staff was friendly and nice. read more

I stumbled upon this coffee shop one day as I was attending (redacted). The coffee shop is somewhat small. However, it's filled with lots of happiness in the form of the baristas who will greet all the regulars by name in addition to providing friendly service with a smile. They have a merch stand, roast their own beans, a plant stand and a little library where you could take a book or donate books as well. They have pastries in the morning but are usually sold out by the afternoon? I have tried - vanilla latte: what I love about this is that its not too sweet (5/5) - cafe de olla: this one is my favorite, its slight spice to it, but it goes really well with the coffee (5/5) - coffee slush: this one is sadly my least favorite, it felt too sweet and grainy. (2/5) Overall, It's a nice place to relax and get some work done. They have outlets and wi-fi if you need to get work or studying done. It's also a wonderful place to relax and unwind during a break from (redacted). read more
