The good: I discovered Haya Coffee at a farmer's market in Redondo Beach but ran into them again at Wilson Park's farmer's market. I had an espresso tonic that tasted great. I usually don't like these spritzer coffee drinks but the coffee base was really nice and smooth. I liked it so much that I came back and bought some grounds as a birthday gift for my brother! You can buy their grounds online as well. The prices are fair. The menu is simple and straight forward. The bad: They're only located in farmer's market. They should open a store front! The interesting: There was a sign that explained what Haya meant (sorry, forgot what it was), but at the time, my Japanese nanny said that Haya didn't mean that in Japanese. read more

Wow that is some fresh coffee! I've been using Haya's medium roasts in my morning espresso routine which has produced really tasty shots with great crema. I usually have at least two bags stocked at all times. I also really respect that Haya has kept the prices very reasonable given the economic climate and I really appreciate it. My husband and I moved a month ago and had to leave our favorite local coffee shops behind. Not that they're so far away, but far enough that it makes it inconvenient. And we all know the importance of convenience. So, I of course went on Yelp in search of a new coffee place that is worthy of our bougie palettes. And lo and behold, I came across Hiya. I'm all for supporting small businesses, so I let my husband know and he gave it a try. He ordered his first bag of coffee beans and paid for shipping, but they refunded the shipping fee because we are located in Gardena. Honestly, they could have just taken our money I've been like, okay, cool, but the fact that they went through the trouble to refund my husband meant a lot to him. And then he tried the coffee. I have been a regular at Haya for years now and have never been disappointed. Beans are always fresh, within just a few days since roasting. Prices are reasonable. It is one of the few places where light roasts are done right. They are very comparable, if not exceed the ones that I tried in Scandinavia, where light roasts are more common. I've been getting coffee from Noah and Haya since my wife and I moved to the South Bay last November. We stumbled on Haya while at the Torrance Farmer's Market, and they produce the best-roasted coffee I've had in LA. I've tried a bunch of local roasters (and many are good!), but bar none, Haya's beans produce the best home brews. I constantly get positive feedback from our visitors on the coffee, but the secret is Haya's freshly roasted coffee. I'm a big fan of the washed and natural varieties--they bring out the fruitiness of the coffee--and any of the East African varietals. But you won't go wrong on any of the bags! I've bought whole beans from Haya Coffee at the Torrance Farmers Market only a few times over the past couple years and have always been really impressed. Today I bought a bag of Vietnam Lotus Espresso and immediately went home to make some French press coffee. After the first sip I actually said out loud to nobody in the room how incredibly good it was. I was cursing, it was so tasty, LOL. I knew it was going to be good, I had high expectations going in, and it still surprised me with its incredible flavor and complete lack of any weird, bad-tasting notes that I've gotten from other fairly good beans. I rarely post on Yelp but was moved enough by the consistently exceptional quality of Haya Coffee to do so today. I'm new to the espresso world and have been trying out different beans to try to determine what my wife and I like best. I reached out to Haya via email on their website asking for recommendations. Noah responded promptly with his suggestions and even offered to throw in samples of their other beans for me to try out. I was impressed by this gesture because I hate having to go through a 12oz bag of beans I don't like just because I wanted to try them. I ended up buying the bean I thought I would like most and have been enjoying it. Wish there was an easier way to get it without having to go to a farmers market or pay shipping online. If you are in the city of Gardena I believe shipping is free. I think these are quality beans that are well roasted and packaged for a reasonable price. Noah's vendor "tent" looked so professional, organized and clean which is what drew me to him in the first place.
